Doesnt seem to fit right, but im sure a few minutes with a dremmel will fix that
Works as expected. This fits exactly where the cd player was located. It took a little manipulation to get it installed.
Pros: perfect fit
It's a black plastic box,what can I say
The pocket is super hard to push into place but it lines up well with the dash once it's there. The bottom should have a non-slip surface so your stuff doesn't rattle all over the place. Inexplicably it has holes in the back so very small objects can fall inside your dash.
I was amazed to see this product available for the 95-98 C/K Trucks. The construction is solid Plastic, and fit VERY SNUGLY in the dash. It does not have the traditional clips originally used by GM, so it basically wedges itself in there. I did modify it to accept wires from the rear, which helped because it had some openings. I did have to drill them out, but I got them in. I also mounted the Remote Bass Boost Control and my Pioneer Stereo's USB Extension Cable inside it on the top. There is still plenty of room to store items, such as my iPhone. I did have to put the dash panel on to see if it was in, and I did have to push it in further to clear the Dash Panel. Otherwise, it looks like a factory pocket! I would definitely recommend this product for any 95-98 GM GMT400 owner!
Pros: Excellent Build Quality, Solid Plastic, Easy to Modify, VERY SNUG FIT, Factory Look.
Cons: VERY SNUG FIT, Had to attach the Dash Panel to see that I had to push it in further.
Great product!! Perfect fit and easy to install. Crutchfield had the item shipped promptly. Will definitely purchase from Crutchfield again! Thanks again. Greg Johnston
Pros: Easy installation. Perfect fit. Fast shipping.
The Dash Pocket fits perfectly where the factory CD player used to be... Crutchfield knows how to make installs easy with a pleasing result... Thanks...
Its a piece of plastic that turns a useless CD player into a storage space. It does that well.
Pros: it works.
Cons: it is VERY tight to get in. I was afraid some of the tabs would break as I was pushing it in, but it held together well.
It's awesome to have storage instead of that CD player. For some reason the front faceplate comes off of this? No idea why, but it's not an issue once the dash bezel is back on. And it's a pain to slid this in. The fit is tight, and the bottom hit on part of my kick panel, but once I wiggled this around to get it in it was all good. Make sure you don't need to take this out once you put it in, because it's probably not coming out without braking
Pros: Handy to have, looks ok
Cons: Tight fit, holes in the back should be optional
Very, very tight fit - I called the support phone number because I thought for sure it was the wrong piece. However, the gentleman on the phone assured me that it would fit, so we manhandled it into place finally. We did cover the holes in the back of the pocket so things wouldn't fall through the back. I love having a spot for my phone and other assorted stuff, and it looks like it is original to the truck. As others have noted, the front face plate is flimsy and wants to come off, but does snap back into place pretty easily. Overall, I love it!
Pros: Great spot for phone, etc; looks original
Cons: Hard to get into place.
Fairly stiff. Takes a lot of pressure to get it to snap in. But fits nice. Great little storage cubby.
Pros: Fits. Great place to put cell phone. Looks factory.
Cons: Little holes in the back. I don't put anything small enough that might fall through. But I'm sure change would. Or other small items.
I installed this in my 2001 Tahoe to delete the factory tape player. Very easy to install and adds a much needed storage pocket.
Pros: Easy to install, fits well
Cons: Shiny plastic looks cheap, textured plastic would be much better
Easy install...glad to see the old CD player gone.
This filled the hole in my dash when I removed the remote CD player. It is useful for holding small objects, but not real tiny ones.
Pros: Fit was good.
Cons: The little trim piece on the front didn't want to stay in place completely until dash was reinstalled.
Easy to install and works good
Really had to muscle that pocket into the pre-existing space. (pushed very hard) And the little front closure flap was quite flimsy. That being said, it worked. Never coming out tough.
Cons: Tight fit.
This looks like a custom job!! easiest install ever!!
Pros: exact fit
With the elimination of the CD player this little cubby/storage fills in nicely, besides what else are you gonna put in the empty hole that works this well for under $15?
Pros: Price, fits perfectly, easy to install
Cons: The six slots/holes in the cubby seem a little strange and unnecessary but are easily covered with some electrical tape for a sealed storage area.
A great added bonus from Crutchfield to help your installation go smoothly, and has that great cubby space for where the CD player used to be.
Pros: Super easy install
I took a gamble and bought this. It states it won't fit my car but it fit it perfectly a 02 Suburban. It replaced the tape deck player. One thing that happened was that my music stopped playing when I disconnected the tape player. I figured it was just making a circuit. I called tech but they didn't have an answer for me. I figured out that if you connect the 2 outside wires on the connector that plugged into the tape deck it completed the circuit and the music came back on. In my car it was orange and pink IIRC. I had alot of wires going thru my head on the install.
Pros: Perfect fit holesin the back if you want to run wiring through.
Cons: None,, if you don't plany on running wiring through the holes just tape them up before you install it.
Looks factory, easy to install!
Good product to replace the stock cd player that is no longer needed
Pros: Great Fit
Cons: Holes in the back will let small items fall through
it worked as replacing the stock CD player
Pros: the pros on this would be that an exact fit although a bit tough to get in and it has slotted holes in the back so you can run wiring through from your stereo plastic is soft so you can easily make the hole bigger if necessary
Cons: I guess the cons would be that if you're using this as a trade for small items they would fall through in the back not exactly sure what the front little flimsy pieces for it is removable I took mine off and also is a very very tight fit had to argue with it a bit to get it in but did work
I had this installed to replace where my cd receiver was in my stock stereo system. Had a new Pioneer stereo installed and love the extra storage space this provides. I use it to store the remote, sunglasses, business cards, whatever you need.
Pros: Easy to install, lots of storage
Perfect for getting rid of factory cd module.
Pros: Fit and finish, took seconds to install with no mods.
Perfect fit, could install it blindfolded.
Pros: perfect fit, stupid easy to install
Easy to install and looks great
Easy to install, works as advertised.
Pros: Does what it suppose to.
Cons: Smaller than I thought it would be.
Not much to say here. If you have a 00-02 Tahoe that came with a tape deck, then this product will replace it and give you a cubby for storage. Crutchfield says this item is not compatible but it is. And if you purchase it with other qualifying items, then you get a 50% discount.
Pros: It does what it says. Provides additional storage room.
Cons: Almost didn't purchase it from Crutchfield because it says it is not compatible with my 02 Tahoe. Not true.Crutchfield response on 6/10/2014 According to the manufacturer, that pocket isn't listed as fitting the 2002 Tahoe. They only list it fitting up to the 2000 model. We're very happy to hear that Dan found it to be an easy solution!
We installed an after market stereo and had this factory CD player taking up space.now we have a cubby hole where that used to be.and we love it.
Pros: Looks great.
Cons: Was very hard to push in place, like it was a bit to big.hope I never have to take it out as I will have to cut it.
This kit was a perfect fit for my Suburban! Installation was very quick and easy, plus it looks great. This pocket is really handy for my cell phone, flash drives, and mp3 player. I also drilled a hole in the back of it and routed my usb input through it. Really does make most of that otherwise wasted space.
Pros: Looks great, very handy, easy to install, makes use of wasted space
Pros: Perfect fit, larger than expected, will hold 4 cds.
This fit my vehicle perfectly and added some much needed extra spec. Can't tell it isn't factory.
Pros: ease of install, quality product.
worked great, makes it look like it was installed by the factory
Pros: easy to do looks great
Product works perfectly.
product looks good installed but feels a little cheap
Pros: easy to install
Cons: the front plate feels cheap and loose
Works as it should, but the directions are terrible!!
Cons: Directions are terrible!!!
Fit was spot on and looks great. Only took a few minutes to install and makes max use of that space.
Pros: goes in fast and fits great
Actually didn't really need this. I wasn't sure what is was for until I got it. I already have the factory pocket where a cd player or cassette player would go. The factory one has some kind of soft lining on it, and the replacement is just plain plastic. That is why it lost a star. Otherwise, I never used it.
Great install kit--very easy to use and adapts well to dash and the radio
Pros: Good fit Color matches well Can hardly tell it's an adapter
Great fix for an old GM cd player taking up space.
Pros: Perfect place for usb and ipod hookup.
Fits perfect. Great place to stash iPhone/iPod. Use Black USB cable so it's not so obvious.
Pros: Just what I needed.
