Average Customer Review(s):
Installed this in a 2007 F250 and it fits perfectly. I attempted to use the stereo beauty ring but found the one provided fits quite well.
Pros: Great fit
Had no problem installing it Thank you
Very poor instructions!!
Pros: Looks great when finished.
Cons: Instructions were terrible. Might as well came with out instructions.Crutchfield response on January 2, 2017 We're sorry you had problems with your installation. I could not get this dash kit to work properly with my Sony CDX-G3150UP CD player. I had to use my own screws to mount the dash kit mounting brackets to the Sony player. If there was some other way of doing this I couldn't figure it out and the directions were not very helpful. I also did not like that the dask kit was not very adaptable and I had to install it with the CD player on the top. I couldn't simply flip the kit over and install the cd on the bottom, because the dash kit screw holes did not match up to the holes in the Ford when doing it that way. In the end it worked. But clearer instructions and specifying the limitations prior to purchase would have been helpful. (Not that I'd have had any other choices, since there weren't any other dash kits to fit my 07 Ford Focus.)
Cons: Not very clear instructions Not very versatile - could only install with the CD player on the top.Crutchfield response on December 6, 2016 Nelda, we're sorry you had problems during your installation. Overall product works and fits like a charm...only 4 stars because the directions are really bad! First time installing a car stereo myself and figuring this thing out and whether or not I needed all the pieces took the longest ha!
Pros: -Vehicle fit -was free!
Cons: -instructions need to be better
Glad I went with the single DIN to gain the pocket. Nice spot to put my phone while charging.
Pros: Worked. Pocket gained.
Didn't quite fit like I wanted it to. It was off center by about 1/4 inches and didn't fit my alpine head unit. Had to make some modifications to get everything fit and took twice as long to install than it should've.
Cons: Didn't exactly fit my vehicle's dash, or my head unit.
Installs simple quick and clean
Fits well and looks really nice once installed. It was very difficult to get the new head unit's DIN sleeve into place, though. There are no tabs, slots, or other openings for the sleeve's retaining tabs to engage, nor a way to snap the sleeve into place without modifying its flanges, and the instructions were too vague to be of help. Especially confusing was the lack of explanation for installing the trim bezel. Coupled with the difficulty getting the DIN sleeve into the bracket, it was a real headache (and this was on a workbench). But once the cage and head unit were assembled, the rest of the installation was a breeze. It fits perfectly, matches the dash trim, and looks like a factory job.
Pros: Once head unit is mounted, fits perfectly and looks great. Additional pocket is very useful.
Cons: Difficult to install head unit in the kit. Weak instructions.
The dash kit fits well, but the plastic cover piece that snaps in around the receiver did not fit over the curved front of the radio. I left it off and it looks OK. This means it is necessary to make a secure fit with the metal DIN sleeve into the large bracket or your radio will rattle and slide around. Not hard to do, but the snap in plastic frame would have been nice, but I was hesitant to pull out a knife and start trimming it to fit.
Pros: Was the right piece for the vehicle.
Cons: Radio made snap on plastic holder not fit.
Worked great, excellent fit for my Boss radio upgrade in my F250 Super Duty 4x4
Pros: Nice to have the extra storage compartment
Cons: Wish I would have known about needing the antenna extension at the same time, and that there was a power plug adapter so I did not have to figure out the wire color matches to my harness. I could have saved the extra $7 in shipping charges and a little research time.
I have removed and installed too many radios in my car. The (4) 7mm screws are 8.5 cm (3.5 in.) deep the face of the dash. I go to the school of hard knocks and followed the instructions 1 time. My fat fingers cannot grab those screws after loosening them. I almost had to get violent to dissemble the stuff and find the lost screw. I then got out a magnet to secure those screws. I will contact Crutchfield and Metra as the trim plate does not fit in correctly.
Pros: almost ok
Cons: Read my review and should have more metal parts. Plastic people.
Great fit for 2005 Ford focus!
Pros: Easy to install Looks great
Great product. Easy to install and is stable.
Pros: Holds the cd player perfect
Cons: Does not allow the use of the head units trim kit
Easy to follow instructions. PDF or paper enclosed.
Pros: The main reason I order from Crutchfield......(my second radio) are the easy Instillation kits. And a great "Package". Everything you need.
Easy to install great product. Good look to factory space
Pros: Easy install
Convenient pocket underneath, easy to mount the cage in. The instructions accompanying it are very vague and not very helpful though
Install was straight forward, a little challenging, but the instructions were on point. Overall it was fun to install and a great finished product.
The mounting kit worked perfect for my wife's 2006 Focus install of a single DIN Pioneer headunit. Gave 4 stars because of the directions.
Pros: Worked as intended. No Surprises.
Cons: The instructions are less than stellar. It is not really complicated once you sit down and start working so it was not that big of a deal.
This adapter worked great in my 2005 Focus. I had a little trouble mounting the DIN bracket, as the picture in the instructions was pretty small, but once you slide it in, it was pretty clear which pins needed to be bent to hold it in place. I was a bit worried putting it in that I would mount it to find that it would be off-center enough that the trim panel for the heater controls wouldn't fit, but they use genius method of pins into mounting holes to get in exactly the right spot. Sweet!
Pros: Easy to use; thorough instructions; good fit; adds a little sunglass holder pocket, vs the (huge) factory radio.
Cons: Pics in the instructions could have been larger/sharper, but the descriptions helped fill in.
The fit and finish on this product isn't the greatest. In order to actually fit in the dash of my 2007 Focus, I had to cut the plastic brackets down a bit. Other than that, it fit as-expected.
Pros: Had everything needed for the installation.
Cons: Had to be altered a bit in order to actually fit.
It fit perfectly
Pros: Well made
Great fit, easy to install
Pros: Simple but effective install. Not high end but looks great anyway.
Fit perfectly and was an easy install.
Pros: Easy install, perfect fit, had all pieces necessary for the radio to fit perfectly without movement.
easy to install everything fit perfect
Fits perfect, looks great!
Pros: Perfect fit, no gaps, scratch resistant material, non glare surface, easy install, took 5 minutes.
Cons: Different color (slightly) than the dash.
Very easy install in an 06 F250. I did as much pre-assembly as I could in the house, which didn't take much, then went out to the truck and it only took about 15 minutes to complete installation and have the truck put back together.
The adapter was easy to install, and the finished product looks good. Neither the radio nor the Installation kit came with the #10-32 screws needed to mount the adapter brackets to the radio. Fortunately, standard #10-32 ground screws common to electrical devices worked just fine.
Pros: Installation was easy, and the finished product looks good.
Cons: The directions were a bit vague and may make installation by a novice more difficult than necessary.
Packaged well with easy to follow instructions. FIts like it should.
Pros: NIce fit/finish
Makes adapting double DIN to single DIN very easy. Looks clean and adds an in dash pocket.
This made installing the new stereo a snap and it looks great.
Pros: Perfect fit, makes installation of new stereo easier.
Great product, makes radio looks great in 05 Focus
Pros: Easy to Install
The unit fits well int he Ford F250 we bought it for but there are no reliefs in the sides for the deck removal tools so it's pretty difficult to get the stereo out of the adapter once installed.
Pros: Fits dash well, easy install.
Cons: Hard to remove deck once installed as deck removal tools don't fit between the deck and the adapter.
Price was right--fit perfectly-free shipping--what else more could you want?
Pros: Good instruction sheets
Great adapter for a painless install. Good fit in the dash.
Pros: Good fit and easy install.
Cons: Not perfect lines in the dash but very good.
Pros: fits fine
Cons: none yet
This radio does everything is says it will do. My iPhone syncs easily and it can read my contacts for caller ID. The mic is clear and nobody has asked me if I'm on a speaker phone.
Pros: Easy to install, easy to pair with phone and sounds much better than my stock radio.
This installation was very easy
Pros: exact fit
This installation kit worked out fine. After figuring out that there were parts for two different types of install, and picking one, I found the install easy, and it looks fine installed in my Focus. I used it to install a Pioneer DEH-X5500HD in a 2007 Focus wagon.
Pros: Fits the car and radio just fine.
Cons: Intall instructions are a bit hard to read, and not as clear as I would have wanted for the two install options.
great product, made installation a breeze.
Pros: easy installation, fits unit well
fit was pretty good over all only bad is that the head unit is inset just a bit to much, but does not affect the functionality
It's cheap, but it works. It's all plastic, unlike the heavy aluminum mounting bracket of the original Ford/Delco radio. Unfortunately, you have to use the snap-in bezel that came with it, which was not a perfect fit, and I had to sand the plastic a little to get it to snap in perfectly. Also, unfortunately, the bezel that came with my new car stereo, which was better looking, would not fit and had to be removed. Also, you have to use the side rails to put it all together, but neither this kit nor the new car stereo came with the necessary screws to attach them. Other than that, it works, and fills the old hole nicely.
Pros: It works, fills the old hole nicely.
Cons: It's kinda cheap, no screws to mount the side rails.
It's a pretty good piece.
Pros: I liked the way it fit without a bunch of little pieces to put together.
Cons: I had to make a spacer to move the deck out about 4mm, to look right.
Great product, extremely easy installation, nice adding extra storage.
Pros: Installation was extremely easy Nice to have extra storage
Cons: Storage bin should be pitched downward to better hold items during acceleration Plastic is a bit fragile, could be easily broken if mishandled
This should have been a 20 minute mounting job except that a crucial piece of instruction did not get included. I was leery of the plastic mounting brackets, but once everything was put together and installed it seems to be secure and solid enough. This is a good thing since there are not a whole lot of options available in the way of mounting kits. Once in the dash, it is functional, bland and looks a bit generic and plastic, but still quite acceptable. Time will tell of the plastic screw mounts will hold up to the rigors of automotive use.
Pros: Fits Easy to assemble, if all the instructions are included.
Cons: All plastic, including screw mounts Does nothing to enhance the dash or receiver's appearance
I was disappointed that I could not chose if the storage area could be on the top or the bottom when installed. I would have liked to have it at the top but does look good with it below. I also was not happy with the way the radio mounted. It sat back too far in the mount and looked "goofy". I took alot of time to modife the filler plate provided to get the radio mount to fit inside it and sit flush.
Very easy install!!
Pros: Very easy install!!
Great fit..works as advertised. Easy to figure out.
Pros: Easy to install. Firm case. love under deck storage area.
Works as designed. Perfect fit in my 2005 Ford Focus.
Pros: Quick and easy install.
Cons: Flimsy attach points, could be a built stronger. Long term durability is questionable.
installation instructions could of been better for sure. the plastics fit and finish could of been better as well. the radio doesn't sit super snug in the dash kit. but it looks good and it works and the price is right.
Peice of cake and It looks great!
Had new radio installed in 30min. With wire kit.
Pros: Easy install. Perfect fit.
Perfect fit for my truck and JVC single din
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Not sure what to do with the pocket
Fit my 2005 F250 perfect, as well as the receiver. Rock solid no vibrations, even out 4 wheeling. Simple install
Pros: Ease and fit
Great adapter! Fit my '07 F250 Super Duty perfectly!
Pros: Perfect fit.
Perfect fit for my '06 Ford Focus. It looks excellent. Was very easy to install.
Pros: Perfect fit with a professional look.
Cons: Some parts of the kit are a bit flimsy...it could be a little more solid.
Instructions weren't very clear, but there were only four pieces, and three of them I didn't need for my particular application. Fit, and finish is perfect, and it was very simple to install.
Pros: Free, with the purchase pf my particular stereo.
Cons: Left-over parts I didn't need.
Hard to believe how well this kit worked, with all the opportunities for failure. Took a little time, but everything fit, and everything I needed (except for wire connectors) was there. I am very, very pleased.
Pros: Exactly what is required.
Cons: Non at all.
Worked but kind of flimzy
This install kit was perfect. Easiest install I have every done. Thanks
This In-Dash Receiver Kit worked perfect for my 2005 Ford Focus. I installed a Sony Receiver into the kit and haven't had any problems with the unit rattling or shifting. I'm very satisfied!
My application was an F-350. This part can't be the best available unless everything has gotten this cheap. The plastic is too flimsy and the opening is not filled by the part. There is 2-3mm around the entire part that allows the flimsy plastic to oscillate and make the radio display unreadable. I have another of this same part that was bought from crutchfield about 8 years ago and that one is solid. But - it's going in another vehicle.
The kit worked in my F-250 , looks great and considering that my truck runs some pretty mean coal mine haul roads as well as on the farm - I'm very impressed with how solid it is . No vibrations , good tight fit and mounting was a snap ......... love the extra storage space !
The dash kit fits the dash quite well. It is flush and looks good, however, the Alpine HU fit was a bit different. I toyed with this and could not make it any better but the HU is recessed slightly, not flush at all. Not a drastic problem but the fit as far as the HU being flush with the dash kit is a tad annoying.
I picked this up after I realized that the dash opening on my '05 SuperDuty was different than my '00 SuperDuty. Installation was pretty simple. Quality seems good and it works like it's suppose to. It doesn't rattle and the head feels firm mounted in it. I'm happy with the way it functions and looks in the truck.
So I got this free with my radio order. It's pretty flush in my car; a little tiny bit crooked but on my own fault. I don't get any vibrations or movement like others have experienced; I bent a whole bunch of those tabs back! I also didn't need the brackets to install it (they wouldn't possibly fit!). It was my first install and I'm pleased with this kit.
This kit looks good and works great for a 07 F250 with an alpine 9855 head unit. I agree with some of the other reviewers about the head unit not feeling very secure in the adapter/bracket. My solution: 1. Secure the head unit brackets to the head unit like normal. 2. Slide the head unit in the main bracket, doing a dry fit making sure that the head unit sits correctly in the main bracket. 3. I took an awl (like the ones on a swiss army knife you could also use a drill but, be careful not to split the plastic) and drilled a hole in the side of the main bracket (the part that attaches to the dash) in line with one of the screws that was attaching the head unit bracket to the head unit. I then took the head unit out and removed the screw that i had drilled a hole for. I slid the head unit back in the main bracket. 5. Last I took some washers to fill the gap between the main bracket and the head unit bracket. I found some longer screws (make sure they are not too long cause you can break your head unit) and put this screw though the main bracket hole I drilled, though the washers, though the head unit bracket, and in to the head unit making it all one piece. I did this for both sides of the bracket. This makes it attach like the factory unit and is very secure. I wish i could attach a picture, cause it would be worth a thousand words. I'm not sure if this will work for other vehicles, but it should work for all F250s like the 07 model.
I have to agree with the fact that it needs to be better anchored or more sturdy. Rough gravel road really makes it shake and rattle. Nice fit easy install. Going to see if I can beef it up a little bit.
The Receiver kit does fit, however it needs to have better anchors (possibly metal) to hold it in place with the truck screw holes. It shakes a lot going over rough terrain while the factory radio did not. Also, this kit needs to be reversible, so that you can put the radio on the bottom and the pocket on top. I believe that would solve most of the vibration.
This kit fit perfectly and, as is usual with Crutchfield products, it took longer to unpack it than install it. The only concern I have is that the built-in Family Entertainment System (rear seat DVD player) no longer functions with this kit. I called technical support which told me there was no way to connect the FES to the new radio with that kit and no other kits were available. I was able to wire around the radio to get the wireless headphones working with the DVD player, but it no longer plays through the stereo. Bottom line: think twice about changing the radio if you have a Ford Family Entertainment System.
Fits pretty well. Not perfectly flush, but hardly noticeable. Got here quickly. Texture of the plastic of the kit is different from that of the dash, but the color is dead on, so it looks pretty good. Definitely beats that giant double-DIN Ford AM/FM radio.
What more could you ask for, a perfect fit inside a vehicle. Nice and flush with front of dash looks good. Very easy for anyone to install this product.
