Average Customer Review(s):
Crutchfield screwed up stocking this kit. It's like Metra took a mid-90s kit, added the newer F-150 dash contours, and produced a "special" baby. I have both the Metra and Scosche kits. Get the Scosche FD1438B kit.
Cons: The deck mounts to a plastic piece -- clipped to another plastic piece -- clipped to another plastic piece -- that finally mounts to the truck... badly. Alignment is very poor. Materials don't match the dash in a reasonable way, and the paint is a fingerprint magnet. The Scosche kit has none of these problems -- and the pocket is bigger.
Overall it fits well enough and looks great
Pros: Can use my aftermarket headunit.
Cons: 12v and usb no longer work. I don't know if aux does or doesn't becuase I haven't tried.
The package didn't have the right parts don't know what the parts fit

The dash kit made the radio upgrade much easier. It came with everything you need. Installed the new radio in 30 minutes,.... thanks Crutchfield.
Pros: made install easy
just what i needed to put my pioneer head unit in. instructions were great and crutchfield advisors helped when I needed it.
Pros: looks great
Easy kit to install you're new radio into your vehicles dash.
Pros: good price
Cons: Face kit is just flat back, I keep the OEM one, that came with truck.
Not much to say, other than a perfect fit!!
Pros: Fit perfect, very clear instructions, looks factory installed when finished.
Good product. Fit right on with all the buttons.
Pros: Easy fit
Cons: Nothing bad
Fit perfect in 2011 f-150
I received my kit quite rapidly. When I went to install it the main body part was not quite the same size as my existing body. However the single din radio receiver worked with my existing main cover plate so it worked out fine. The instructions left a lot (and I mean a lot) to the imagination. This should have been much better. How much could it cost to have better installation instructions. I was able to make this work by blending some of the kit with some of my original equipment. Adequate
Overall not a bad kit. The brackets where the head unit fits does seem a little weak
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: A little flimsy
Was not the correct kit for my install because part of the info I provided was incorrect because the person helping me on the chat mislead me on the meaning of integrated and not integrated so I wasn't able to use the faceplate but the remaining parts worked out with my factory face plate which I liked the finish on it better anyway.
Super easy to use and install! One of the best kits on the market!
The console replacement part is excellent. It looks sharp. BUT - the single-DIN housing is so-so. I wasn't expecting it to be so recessed into the dash. It doesn't sit "flush" like the OEM radio did. Personally, I feel like it detracts from the clean look of the new console. But, it's growing on me and I'll live with it.
Pros: easy to install, matte black looks nice. I installed it in about 20 minutes with no prior know how.
Cons: DIN inset doesn't look OEM. Console looks great though
Not quite OEM fit and finish, but it works. I didn't use the entire dash applique, but opted to just use the mounting plate with the pocket under the radio. The entire applique didn't mach the rest of the dash - It worked fine. There is a little gap between the head unit and the mount which looks a little ugly plus the radio is recessed pretty far into the dash. If it was my personal vehicle and not a work vehicle I might be more disappointed. Having said all that - It would look a lot worse without it so can't complain!
The dash kit does not fit a 2011 F-150 XL Super Cab Truck. The original dash plate is 1" longer than the kit supplied. You have to use the original one and not the one supplied in the kit.
The head unit and the pocket underneath the head unit (to fill empty space) are both recessed slightly into the dashboard (about a 1/4"). Also it is a smooth texture, and not the checkered pattern like the original. But it does the job. Just kinda looks UGLY
I wanted a good fit and good aesthetics for my new truck [ PETER Dec 11, 2016 ]
