Overview

Our take on the Metra 99-7803 Dash and Wiring Kit

Your 2003-2007 Honda Accord is a great car, but the console design makes it difficult to upgrade the factory radio. Metra's dash and wiring kit replaces the factory radio panel, allowing you to install an aftermarket DIN-sized (2" tall) or double-DIN (4" tall) receiver in the Accord's dash panel. It retains all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls, in vehicles with either single- or dual-zone controls.

The kit includes all climate controls found in the Accord, and its gray finish is a perfect match for the color, texture, and contours of your dash. The LCD display and all controls on the adapter are backlit when you turn your headlights on, and you can adjust the color to your tastes. All factory functions are retained. Warranty: 1 year.

Notes: The package includes a harness that plugs directly from your Honda into the Axxess ASWC adapter (not included), allowing you to retain your steering wheel audio controls with a new car stereo. For the display backlighting to work with the headlights, the adapter's illumination wire must be connected to the new car stereo's illumination wire.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Was able to upgrade my stereo and not lose temp controls!

Features

Overview: The Metra 99-7803G OEM Integration Kit allows you to replace your 2003-2007 Honda Accord's factory radio with an aftermarket head unit to improve the overall sound quality of your car audio system. The OEM Integration Kit features a scratch-resistant matte black finish and fits aftermarket Single-DIN or Double-DIN head units. The 99-7803G retains your factory steering wheel controls with the addition of the Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately). Your vehicle's entire climate control panel is integrated into the Metra 99-7803G; including an LCD screen (single and dual climate control is retained).

Replacement Pocket: The door on the factory pocket below the radio will not function properly with this new OEM Integration Kit installed. As an alternate solution, Metra offers the 88-00-7803 replacement pocket (1208807803, sold separately).

This is the key to replacing the awful factory radio in the Honda Accord (2003 - 2007). If your factory radio hasn't been turning on by itself or making weird noises, it will soon. Replace the factory radio before it starts to run down your battery! This kit seems expensive but it is the way to go! [ Scott  Feb 21, 2017 ]
advisor told me after I got a radio from you and I find out that have to be install on the bottom he told me all I need is this expensive kit [ rolando  Nov 10, 2016 ]

7 questions already asked

the harness is to attach to head unit and the 3mm cable is for steering wheel controls if so equipped. [ EARL  Sep 11, 2016 ]
I Believe that cable went to the steering wheel control so u would plug that cable into the microphone for speaking into the hands free phone. I didn't like the Metra it's temperature was never accurate. Metra told I had to take it out of the dash to use the port in the back of the console. Hook it up to my computer then up grade the system. Once it was out of warranty there was nothing they wanted to do to help. Never got the temp to work properly [ JOSEPH J  Aug 16, 2016 ]
ITs for the sterring wheel controls [ MAURICE N  Aug 16, 2016 ]
If I recall, it goes into the back of the receiver, perhaps for the steering wheel controls; I would have to pull it out to be sure. I also used a Maestro unit to enhance the steering wheel controls. It also has the 3mm plug. [ Todd  Aug 16, 2016 ]
That jack is for using the Metra steering wheel control unit (optional). The fit is mediocre and the climate controls suck (say goodbye to automatic mode - it is functionally useless) but it is pretty much the only decent looking option for our cars. [ Angel R.  Aug 16, 2016 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Kenny  May 21, 2016 ]  Staff
It looks like there may be more than 1 possibility for that vehicle depending on features. To confirm I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question. [ Kenny  Mar 01, 2016 ]  Staff

Its just rubber buttons. They do not light up. I also no not have a problem seeing the buttons at night. [ JEREMY  Apr 29, 2015 ]
yes it does light up when the park lamps are on. [ DAVID  Apr 28, 2015 ]
The part that displays the amount of heat and where the air is coming from should light up. The buttons that adjust those features don't light up. Hope this helps. If not, let me know. [ MARK  Apr 28, 2015 ]
The new digital heat/AC display is supposed to light up. I do not recall specifically if there is an illumination wire but, when I connected all of the wires as stated in the instructions it worked perfectly. Try disconnecting everything and reconnecting again and ensure all connections are good. [ KEITH A  Apr 28, 2015 ]
The display should light up at night. The buttons actually lit up when I used it in my dual zone accord. But not in my ex 4 door [ KENNETH  Apr 28, 2015 ]
