Our take on the T-Spec FDB-148M

Distributes power safely and neatly

This compact distribution block from T-Spec will handle the high-current power distribution for your multi-amp sound system, ensuring that your wiring's connected securely, looking neat, and safely fused. The set screws for the fuses have specially-designed heads that accept many common tools, even a coin, so you will always be able to change your fuse without having to carry around a special tool. Solid black nickel-plated brass construction ensures reliable power flow, and an impact-resistant plastic cover keeps the fuses and connections clean. You'll need Allen head wrenches to install this block. (Fuses sold separately.) Warranty: 1 year.

What's in the Box:

  • Fused distribution block (MANL fuses) with one 1/0 AWG set-screw input and four 4/8 AWG set-screw outputs

T-SPEC MANL Fuse Holder

Karthik from Glenside, PA on 8/11/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good fuse block for the money. I used it for the amp and other needs. The Kicker fuses I got fit fine and the mounting was solid. Will see how it holds up over time. The 4 gauge input was bigger than I expected, but the output 8 gauge connectors were fine.

Pros: Good value for the money. Nice flexibility.

Cons: 4 Guage Input a little bigger than expected.

Bought this a few months back, just got around to installing it. I dropped it off my fender and it broke in 3 pieces. Poor construction, I mean come on for $30 i expect it to hold up to being dropped a few feet. And its been too long to return it.

Hands-on research

Product Research

Overview: This package includes a T-Spec compact, 4-position distribution block that will accept MANL fuses (not included). The solid brass construction gives you maximum conductivity. The distribution block has a flat-black finish, and is installed inside an impact-resistant polycarbonate cover with a translucent removable top. The cover has a small footprint, with two holes in the base for mounting with screws or wire ties.

Configuration: The distribution block has one 1/0 AWG input, two outputs for 4 AWG wire (or 8 AWG), and two outputs exclusively for 8 AWG wire. Each output requires a MANL (mini ANL) fuse (not included).

Universal Screw Design: The fuses are secured to the distribution block with Universal style screws to let you change fuses fast. The Universal screws can be tightened or loosened with a flat-head screwdriver, a coin, or a 3mm Allen wrench.

Set Screws: The wire connections are secured with set screws. The set screws are located underneath the Universal screws for the fuses, so you must first make the wire connections before installing the fuses. A 3mm Allen wrench is required to tighten or loosen the set screws.

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

I need a fused distribution block that has several channels to power several pieces of equipment. The T-Spec FDB-148M seems to fit the bill, and it is compact, so should fit where I need it to.[ Danen  Jan 01, 2016 ]
