Metra ethereal M3B CS-HDM3BRX1
Coaxial-to-HDMI distribution receiver for commercial installations
Our take on the Metra ethereal M3B CS-HDM3BRX1 by Crutchfield's Kramer Crane
Treat your customers to amazing sights and sounds
It's traditionally been a challenge for restaurants, bars, and other commercial venues to distribute HDMI sources among a wall — or several walls — of TVs. There's normally been a concession to make: either limit the number of screens being used, or diminish the picture quality of what's being watched. Metra has solved this problem with a signal distribution solution that opens the door to crisp HD video across an array of displays. The M3B CS-HDM3BRX1 coaxial-to-HDMI receiver is an integral part of this flexible system.
Distribute your HD content via RG-6 coax cable
The M3B distribution system consists of two core components. The CS-HDM3BTX1 transmitter (required, sold separately) takes an incoming HDMI source and converts it to a high-definition RF signal, which is then sent via RG-6 coax cable to one or more CS-HDM3BRX1 receivers. Connect each receiver directly to a TV, A/V receiver or projector with an HDMI cable.
The transmitter has a selectable output channel that is then matched up at the receiver to display a particular source. You can pick which source you want displayed with either the included remote control or a universal one. A front-panel display on the receiver indicates which corresponding transmitter has been selected.
Use this flexible solution in a variety of ways
If you're sending one source to one display, a single transmitter and receiver pair will do the job. If you want to take one source and send it to multiple displays, simply feed your transmitter into a bi-directional coax splitter like this one. You can then output to as many receivers as you want. Now, here's where it really gets cool — you can feed up to 100 different HDMI sources to 'TX1 transmitters and send any of them to connected 'RX1 receivers at the click of a button.
If you run a sports bar and want to be able to show any game on any of your displays, this gives you the flexibility you're looking for. You can keep all of your cable boxes, satellite receivers, and HD streaming boxes in a central location and run reliable, inexpensive coaxial cable throughout your building. The M3B system can broadcast your HD content well over 2,000 feet and still maintain top-notch picture quality.
Common distribution scenarios
Scenario one: use one transmitter and one receiver to send an HDMI source to a single display.
Scenario two: use one transmitter, a bi-directional coax splitter, and three receivers to send the same HDMI source to multiple displays.
Scenario three: use multiple sources, transmitters, and receivers. Choose any source to display on any TV at the click of a button.
