Metra ethereal Toslink cable
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Nice cable, clicked in solid, good value
This basic, no-nonsense optical cable will provide a distortion-free connection between your digital audio source components — CD players, Blu-ray or DVD players — and A/V receivers, DACs, and even some sound bars. The cable has full-size Toslink connectors at each end.

I did not know that toslink connectors could fit so well. Perfect fit at both ends. Previous cables made me hate toslink because of poor fit. And great that dust covers are attached.
All around great cable.
Pros: Much more durable cable vs what came with the surround system. 30 second installation time and works great.
Thick, durable outer coating, high quality connection ends.
No question about it, the optical connections between your receiver and CD player are awesome. I had been using RCA cables between my receiver and my CD player and the music with the optical connections is so much clearer and wonderful to listen to. I am enjoying listening to my CD collection. Pulling out all my favorite CD's.
Excellent works great.
Great product worked perfectly
I was told for my Panasonic TV I would need this cable. The TV has only a Toslink cable connection, so I had no choice. It does what it is supposed to for using the headphones with my TV. It was frustrating because there was no directions on how to connect everything. I figured out there was a door to open for the cable to go through on my TV and the ethereal box.
Pros: Connects the TV through the ethereal box to the headphones
Cons: No directions, so it was a little frustrating because I had never used a Toslink cable and did not know how to connnect it.
Simple to install. Provided crystal clear connection between my Onkyo CD player and my new HK3770 receiver
High Quality product; Crutchfield tech support was very helpful in selecting the correct item!
They work as described. I bought two and did get an open package with broken caps which the support group immediately replaced.
high quality cable at a very good price
With AJ's help I was able to connect an older TV to my new Sony receiver that I purchased from you. The cable was easy to use, giving me full use of the receiver.
Successfully used to interface digital audio output from a Samsung 55" HDR TV to Sennheiser RS195 headphones for hearing impaired and to a McIntosh MA5200.
Pros: Easy install
Cons: none so far
Love these since they CLICK in unlike previous ones I've had that seem like they come out easily.
Pros: Click in for secure connections.
Cons: Make sure you get the right length!
Great product, but most importantly greater service. Kudos to your company's culture to excellent service. First call for any electronics needs.
I made a mistake with my last review. This fiber optic cable is my connection from the Onkyo 6 disc player to my Onkyo receiver. And the sound difference is very noticeable. The other cable is longer and was needed to hide the cable as the short one ran in front of one of my speakers. I have been pleased with Crutchfield for the 20 + years I have dealt with you.
Good product works as expected. Shipped on schedule.
Good quality cable; flexible; easy to install. Resulting sound quality great.
Super sound...Now I know why it is rated so high.
Hey, it's an optical cable, perfectly functional, not an eyesore and it's cheap. What more can one expect from a cable? Five stars. So much bigly winning.
Optical Digital Audio Cable: The Metra Ethereal MHX-T1 uses the finest quality optical fiber and gold-plated terminations for maximum resolution and resistance to common noise sources. The optical digital cable is 3' (1M) in length.
Note: Remove the plastic protectors on the optical cable and on your equipment. Insert the connectors; they are "keyed" and will only fit one way.

I believe so if you have an optical output on the sound bar. Most have that available on them. [ Ross Jul 13, 2017 ]
First off, I am no expert. That being said....I was not sure if I could connect my computer (out) to my Sony DVD player, which had an (in) port. The cable works great!! If your soundbar has an input (SPDIF IN), make sure you are connecting it to (SPDIF OUT), so you are sending the sound to the soundbar. If needed, configure the output device to SPDIF or optical, so the signal is sent on the correct channel. Hope this helps you. Once I configured my computer to send audio out to SPDIF, I was amazed at the sound quality. Great buy here. [ RICHARD Jul 13, 2017 ]
