Features

Overview: The TYTO-01 interface is designed to allow you to replace the OEM radio with an aftermarket head unit in select 2001 and later Toyota and Lexus vehicles and retain the use of the JBL and JBL Synthesis amplified audio systems. Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

Connections: The TYTO-01 interface module includes a 14-pin to 20-pin Toyota/Lexus harness which plugs into the TYTO-01 interface module and your vehicle's factory radio harness. This same harness also has 12-volt constant (yellow), 12-volt accessory (red), ground (black), and illumination (orange) leads that tie into your aftermarket head unit's harness. The interface also includes a 16-pin harness which plugs into the TYTO-01 interface module and is wired to the remote turn-on and speaker level outputs of the aftermarket head unit.

The other choice to replace my radio in my 2006 Tundra was a harness with 17 feet of cable...I didn't really want to rewire 17 feet of cable in my truck to replace a radio....this harness looks like I can keep the existing wiring in the truck and simply plug into it at the dash. I'm hoping it works well, and I don't have to consequently order the other more complicated looking harness. Fingers crossed! [ chris  Jan 05, 2017 ]

I asked the manufacturer and this was their reply: The Black/White is a ground wire, but only ground it if you're getting ground noise from your system. Grounding it before hand may induce noise. So basically, leave it disconnected and if everything works you're good. If you have noise you can try grounding it. [ AlexK  May 10, 2016 ]
Honestly I can't remember what I did, it's been about 2 yrs. But I know it works great up to a day like today. [ KEN  Dec 01, 2015 ]
