Worked exactly as expected.
Could be thicker/stronger for the application I'm using them for - jl audio 12" all in one sub attached to rear swing gate if my rubicon
Pros: They kinda work
Cons: Weak metal, used to attach a JL all in one sub to the swing gate of my jeep. Already bending, need to double up each one to hold the weight.
PRACTICAL. Really did the job
Pros: Neat look.firm placement
Well made product!
Great to keep your subs safe and not let them bounce around your trunk
Used these brackets to hold a Sound Ordinance B-8P powered sub. Mounted in the corners of the box. Holds them in place well. Yeah, I could have gone with hardware store L brackets but wanted an clean looking installation. The black color and rounded edges gives me that look.
Pros: Holds sub securely.
Found out I didn't need these brackets since my sub box does not move in tight trunk space. I am sure they will do fine if you don't plan on ever moving your sub box out of the way.
Pros: good quality brackets
Cons: make sure that you really need this before buying
It looks like Crutchfield is using a different supplier for these box brackets, because I also got the ones with two holes on each "L" bracket, instead of the four holes like in the picture. Anyway, they do the job they were intended to do, which is to hold down securely your subwoofer or full-range speaker box inside your vehicle. You can always drill the extra holes in the brackets, if you need extra hold-down power, but it's not necessary.
They do what they were made for... to hold your box in place so it doesn't kill you when you get into an accident. But the ones I got only had two holes for each L bracket, not four like in the picture... But the box still seems stable and not shifting around the back.
Buying a new sub and box? Make sure you secure them to the vehicle or that box will move around, destroying everything in your trunk including the box! Plus, it thieves actually make it in your vehicle, they will have a harder time removing that box!

You may find something similar at a hardware store that you can make (and maybe cheaper), but it's so convenient to add this to your Crutchfield order.
Used to secure speaker boxes to vehicles. There are two holes for screws spaced 0.525" apart on each arm of the bracket.
Required drilling box and vehicle.

My box really doesn't move on the mat in my trunk, and even if I hit something, the box would still be trapped in the trunk and not go anywhere. But for $7, why wouldn't I mount it to prevent an unintentional movement in an emergency ? It just removes some doubt about where the box will be when I open the trunk if something happens or I decide to drive a little more spirited. [ Stephen Oct 11, 2016 ]
