Pioneer's AVH-100DVD DVD receiver offers the convenience of a 6.1" touchscreen display, a DVD and CD player, and iPod® or iPhone® control in one budget-friendly double-DIN (4" tall) receiver. You can listen to Pandora® Internet Radio by plugging in your iPhone, as well as enjoy your digital music by connecting a thumb drive or an Android® phone to the USB port. The AVH-100DVD also includes a rear audio/video input, a backup camera input, and an old-fashioned AM/FM radio tuner with the Radio Data System (RDS).
Whether it's the music stored on your iPod or the Pandora app loaded on your iPhone, you can plug your device to the USB port on the AVH-100DVD and control your music the way you want. Since the USB connection is on the rear of the radio, you'll want to consider using Pioneer's 30-pin CD-IU51 or CD-IU52 Lightning® cable for your iPod or iPhone. This provides the best sound quality for your music, charges your device, and gives you control from the touchscreen display.
Pioneer's innovative AppRadioLIVE streamlines your app info and functions into one easy-to-use interface. You'll enjoy quick access to your music, media, calendar, and other sources you subscribe to, just by downloading the AppRadioLIVE app and syncing your services. AppRadioLIVE works with your apps to provide visual map guidance and access to points of interest, as well as the ability to search for concerts, shows, and other local events of interest. And you can show several sources of information simultaneously, quickly shifting from one to another with a touch of your finger.
Once you've got the music you want, you can tweak it with the receiver's 5-band graphic equalizer. Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever gets better sound out of your compressed digital music files. If you're adding amps for some more power, you'll appreciate the two sets of preamp outputs. You can also engage the built-in high- and low-pass filters and control the subwoofer's amp output level from the receiver's display.
Use the rear analog audio/video inputs to hook up your favorite portable audio player, a camcorder, or another video source. This receiver boasts a video output to send movies to a rear video screen, so you can keep your backseat posse entertained. If you've got a big vehicle, you'll appreciate the input for a rear-view camera — helpful for when you're maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Average Customer Review(s):
Great product from a great company
It was very easy to install and use.
This receiver is awesome! Sounds great with the Bose speakers and everything. Was very easy to install and I would recommend this product/site to anyone looking to purchase car stereo equipment.
Pros: Easy to install, great sound quality, bose compatible
Great sound once you start playing with the audio settings. Nice big color screen. DVD movies look sharp. My main reason for getting a big color touch screen was for use with a rear view camera. These upgrades almost make me feel like I'm driving a new car. You almost don't even need instructions once it's installed. It's very easy to figure out.
Pros: Sound, price, easy to use.
Amazing radio. I love it!! Works perfect!
Pros: Everything!! It's easy to use and not hard to install.

Great Head Unit, very clean and classy looking. No issues with it whatsoever. The only thing is I should have spent the extra money for the bluetooth version. Didn't realize how much I would really want it.
Pros: Classy and clean looking
Great sound. Very intuitive
Pros: Supports usb since I don't have an ipod.
Cons: Wish it had auto changing illumination
I love my new Pioneer AVH-100DVD. Everything from its user-friendly function to its sleek appearance, this product has upgraded my listening experience 10 fold. Very satisfied.
Pros: Sleek appearance, user friendly, personalization effects and great sound.
Cons: I wish it came with a GPS app and bluetooth, but I'm am very pleased with the interaction between the unit and my phone. I can easily use the GPS app on my phone and receive notifications of incoming calls while listening to music. Great deal for the money spent.

Link Play lets the head unit create an album list of the currently playing artist, a song list of the currently playing album, or an album list of the currently playing genre.

- **Requires Pioneer's CD-IU201V iPod video cable (130IU201V, sold separately); supports audio & video.
- *Requires the Pioneer Lightning connector cable (130CDIU52, sold separately), or the Lightning cable that came with your Apple device (does not support video).
- Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID AM/FM tuner features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
Pandora App: The free Pandora Radio app lets you play music from the online Pandora music service through the Pioneer AVH-100DVD using your USB-connected Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+), via a proprietary Pioneer iPod connector cable (sold separately) or the USB/iPod dock cable that came with your iPhone. Compatible cables include the Pioneer CD-IU51, CD-IU52, or CD-IU201V (all sold separately). Your iPhone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. In addition, you will need a Pandora music service account. The Pioneer AVH-100DVD will provide control over the Pandora music service & display Artist, Album, & Song information; as well as Album art.
Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.
24-Bit/96kHz DAC: For superb quality audio playback from DVDs, CDs, and flash media, the Pioneer AVH-100DVD is equipped with a 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog converter.
MOSFET50 Internal Amplifier: This receiver is equipped with a 50 watts x 4 (peak) MOSFET amplifier for low distortion, high power output. The amplifier is strong enough to power small subwoofers to moderate volume levels in compact cars and pickups. For higher volume levels from subwoofers, an optional amplifier may be connected to the preamp outputs.
Note: The power specifications for the AVH-100DVD are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.
2V/4CH Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The Pioneer AVH-100DVD features two pair of 2.0-volt preamp outputs (Front & Rear/SW. The unit's Rear/SW preamp outputs can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs with a low-pass filter, phase adjustment, and output level control.

EEQ (Easy EQ) w/ 5-Band Graphic EQ: There are seven stored equalizer curves which you can easily recall at any time. You can choose from - Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, Flat, Custom 1, or Custom 2. The Custom 1 and Custom 2 EQ modes allow you to manually adjust the level (+/- 12dB) of each band of the head unit's 5-band graphic equalizer (100, 315, 1.25k, 3.15k, & 8k Hz).

You can play back the same video source which is being played on the head unit. You can select the unit to output a 16:9, Letter-Box or Pan-Scan aspect ratio to match your external display's screen size.
Rear-View Camera: The AVH-100DVD is equipped with a composite video rear-view camera input for the addition of an optional backup camera (130NDBC6, sold separately). The unit features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image. When the vehicle's transmission is put in reverse, the screen automatically switches to the rear view camera (violet/white wire of the harness must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching). Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.8 seconds. Pioneer recommends using a camera with a mirror image (reversed) output. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

you can actually just turn the display screen totally off and then it will be pretty much black also it does auto dim with I have it on and it does a great job for me. [ Kevin Sep 09, 2014 ]
Thanks everyone. Thats helped a lot. [ kyron Sep 08, 2014 ]
There is a display off and you can make the screen pretty dark. [ Taven Sep 06, 2014 ]
There is a lot of control when it comes to brightness on this unit. That display button right on the front of the unit actually is a toggle for the LCD display on and off. There is also a dimming feature that uses the vehicles interior lighting circuit to auto dim the display at night. There is also a setting to adjust the auto dimming aswell so you could dim it down to near off at night and it will automatically brighten up during the day. [ Jeremy Sep 06, 2014 ]
You can actually turn off the display screen if you dont want it on. It still plays music when turned off,so thats not a problem. Don't know if you can adjust the resolution because its not that bright to me, but I'm sure you should be able to. Hope this helps. [ Ricco Sep 05, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: We do not offer a bypass option and would not be able to help with this. Even in a camper the Parking break would still need to be engaged to watch video sources on the screen. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Aug 10, 2014 ] Staff
There is a USB port in the back of the radio. I purchased a wire and plug from Crutchfield and installed the plug in my glove compartment where I keep my Ipod. [ Allan Jul 25, 2014 ]
There's a link for the Manual. Go to manualslib . com There is an aux jack. It's located on the back. So you would have to take the radio out of the dash to hook it up. I have an iphone I just hook it up to the USB to listen to music. Hope this helps [ Daniel Jul 22, 2014 ]
there is a aux plug in the back of the unit and i would try online on pioneers web site [ DONALD Jul 21, 2014 ]
thank you however I can't find a digital manual online. And my husband has an android phone. How do I access his music thru the USB? [ Carol Jul 21, 2014 ]
The aux port is located on the back of the unit, I would recommend a long cord, that way you can run it through the back all the way to the front that its always available. [ Robert Jul 20, 2014 ]
There is an aux plug located on the back of the unit. You would need to take it out and run an auxiliary chord to the back and run it to where you want axcess to it. If you need a manual I would look online. I'm sure there is a digital copy. [ Erik Jul 20, 2014 ]
Probably, the mounting kit comes with the bezel and antenna connectors etc. My car is a vw gti so I needed it to keep the unit in the dashboard and give it a "flush" look. As for yours I'm not exactly sure, but call and verify with one of the reps. You won't be disappointed if you get this I have my thumb drive hooked up to it since I don't have an iPod and its great. [ HUGH Jul 08, 2014 ]
I dont believe so you should beFine without buying the it [ Taven Jul 08, 2014 ]
Thanks everyone for the help [ Mike Jul 01, 2014 ]
Yes it works fine with the iPhone 5. In retospect, I would have gone with a deck that has bluetooth though. JM2c. [ Brian Jun 27, 2014 ]
Yes.... Works just perfect with the iPhone 5s [ Korey Jun 27, 2014 ]
Yes it is compatible. [ TERRY Jun 26, 2014 ]
Yes. My son and daughter both have the iPhone 5s. [ jay Jun 26, 2014 ]
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on fit. [ Greg May 13, 2014 ] Staff
If it's hooked up to the rear screen the video and audio will both be viewable from the rear screen. Only the audio will be played on the head unit with a black screen with a warning that the driving cant watch video while moving. [ Dane Apr 17, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You could listen to Pandora with the basic auxiliary connection on that model radio, but you would not get any song information on-screen or control through the radio. It does not support a GPS add-on. I would recommend upgrading to the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT which does support the AVIC-U250 GPS add-on and wireless Bluetooth audio streaming with the Note 3. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Apr 09, 2014 ] Staff
Does it playback video from iPhone 5? YouTube and what not? [ Eric Apr 15, 2014 ]
This unit has a parking brake interlock system that prohibits viewing of video programming and operating certain controls when the vehicle is in motion. In order to watch video on the in-dash monitor, the vehicle must be stopped with the parking brake engaged. [ Krissy Apr 07, 2014 ] Staff
