Buy the original!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Embarrassingly, I tried to go cheap and order a non-Pioneer cable kit for my Pioneer APH-X3600 head unit and it didn't work. Ordered this one from Crutchfield, plugged it in and the AppRadio mode worked perfectly. All the apps work just as they should so now I have in-dash Nav thanks to the apps plus all the other features this cable kit gives you. A little pricey but in the end it saves frustration. Buy this cable kit - you'll save in the long run.

Pros: Works exactly as it's designed - plug and play.

Cons: A little pricey considering what the cables actually are.

Pioneer Appradio Must have

What can I say? If you have a Pioneer head unit and want to do anything video related, you need this item. There are a few knock off products out there but they simply don't work. This is the genuine Pioneer product and works perfectly.

Cord for lightning adapter

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A must when having an iPhone to use the lightning adapter. This is by far worth the money when using your iPhone for music and videos. I have always wanted to watch videos from my iPhone on my deck and these cords make that possible and the ease of using my iPhone on my deck is amazing. Couldn't ask for a better product accessory for my pioneer deck, a must buy

Pros: Amazing product for using lightning adapter for iPhone making controlling my iPhone through the deck so much easier than before when I just used the standard USB cord

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It works flawless I find nothing wrong with the cables. But the deck is new and the interface with the iPhone 5s is a little laggy on the decks side. I'm hoping for a glitch update on the deck. It's just a little slow loading apps and doesn't connect all the time. All you have to do is turn the rig off and back on which is no biggy but would be nice not to have to do. But cable wise it's what you need with the apple cable directly from apple. I must say the nag free USA app is bada$$ :) mixtrax is sweet with the cables as well. Overall only problems are with slow and glitch

Pros: Exactly What you need

Works great

Cons: Pricey!

Just what I needed

Jeff from Melbourne, FL on 3/10/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wasn't aware when I purchased my Pioneer head unit that I would need this cable for AppRadio, but I ordered it and it arrived quickly and works like a charm. If you have an Apple product with a Lightning connector, you'll also need the Lightning to VGA adapter.

Pros: Works exactly like it's supposed to.

Cons: I wish it would receive a Lightning connection without having to pay extra for the additional adapter.

incompatible USB

J from Chicago, IL on 2/12/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

finally got my Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS installed in my 2008 Scion tc with the waterfall door kit to cover the new head unit.

Pros: The visual screen images & sound are excellent upgrades from the factory head unit, not into sound systems that can be heard blocks away, this unit & my factory speakers work well together, considering the factory speakers are from Pioneer. So many options with this unit, it is works well with the lightening USB connector for the iphone 5 for Pandora, the blue tooth connection & hands free calling is great, access to call log & phonebook also a great feature. The DVD player has great picture.

Cons: Unfortunately the VGA cable with the lightening adapter & USB gives me an "incompatible USB" status when attempting to pull video or mirror apps from my iphone 5 to the Pioneer screen. maybe I need the HMDI/lightening adapter, I don't know & haven't seen any info on anyone having problems with this maybe because the unit is fairly new, not sure if this is a firmware download issue. I will check with Pioneer & Crutchfield support, hopefully its nothing major.

The CD-IV203 kit includes a 6.5' VGA-to-RGB cable to accomplish video transfer and a 20" Lightning-to-USB connector cable for charging the iPhone 5/5C/5S. A Bluetooth connection between the phone and the DVD receiver is required for audio transfer and control.

Compatibility: The CD-IV203 is compatible with the following 2014 Pioneer in-dash DVD receivers (as of 11/27/2013).

Additional Requirements: To complete compatibility between AppRadio Mode and the iPhone 5/5C/5S, the purchase of the Apple Lightning to VGA Adapter (472LT2VGA, sold separately)  is required. No it doesn't. Will need a separate plug. [ TERRY  Dec 21, 2014 ]
I have the otter box and it connects fine. I'm not sure how big the life proof opening is. The cable is a little bigger that comes with it but if it is too big, you can just use your white Apple charger with it instead of the one that comes with it. [ SCOTT  Dec 18, 2014 ]
Don't know about the lifeproof but it fits through my otter box just fine. Worst case, you could use your Apple cable with it instead [ JOHN  Dec 18, 2014 ]
No the lighting connection on this adapter I way to big, but I just use apple cord and it works fine. [ Eric  Dec 18, 2014 ]
No The cable is a bit too big nothing crazy just a little bigger then the normal lighting cable [ ROBERT  Dec 18, 2014 ]
If you have an iPhone 5 or newer, this is what you want. It works, but is somewhat complicated to use if you aren't technically savvy. Look up a YouTube video for how to use it and it helps a lot. But for your iPod classic, you should be able to just plug the cord for the classic directly into the USB port on your radio and it should work [ AUSTIN  May 23, 2014 ]
No, this will not work as you would like it. This kit of for the AppRadio feature (will not work on your iPod, as there is no app for it) on the Pioneer deck. I also have a 120GB Classic and it stays plugged in to the USB port on the back of the radio. If you want to be able to switch between iPod and iPhone, you would just need a regular USB->30pin + Lightning adapter. Personally, I use the USB connection for the iPod, and bluetooth for the iPhone. [ MORGAN  May 23, 2014 ]
