Pioneer CD-VM1 - perfect choice

CBL from Portland, Oregon on 1/15/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I made this selection because I could mount this microphone on the back of the steering column. This would allow me to speak as directly into the microphone as possible. I drive a convertible with a canvas top which is always a little noisy by design of course. The microphone's flexible mounting capabilities attracted me and the decision has proven to be a good one.

Pros: Flexible mounting possibilities - excellent sound quality. direct fit for my head unit, long cord, easy to install and place.

Cons: none

Very clear for the people I am talking to.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this because my pioneer head unit didnt come with one.

Pros: It plugged right in and works great! Everyone I have talk to using it says I sound very clear.

Cons: Just wish the wire was a bit longer.

2.5mm to 3.5mm Headphone

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you are buying this for a non-pioneer unit, make sure you have the right size headphone / aux input. My Kenwood has a 3.5mm so I purchased an and installed this mic. Easy install and everyone I've spoken too since installing this aftermarket-aftermarket mic says the sound quality is remarkably better than the one which came with my kenwood unit. Great purchase.

Pros: Clear sound, extra cable legth

Cons: 2.5mm input so you will need an adapter for a unit with a 3.5mm receiver.

This thing works great. Has pretty good sound quality and it does a decent job of filtering out the road noise. Overall, very satisfied.

That should get installed permanently since it plugs in to the back of the radio and you point the microphone in the direction you choose. [ SALVADOR  Oct 04, 2017 ]
For best results use the one from pioneer. It is better quality sound and it's only 19.99. [ Chris  Jun 16, 2017 ]
Thanks for your question. The microphone is not a direct fit. Your Kenwood has a 3.5mm connection, this microphone has a 2.5mm connector. So it will not work without some type of adapter. Hope this helps. [ Kenny  Jan 12, 2017 ]  Staff
Thanks for your question. Yes it is. It has the same 2.5mm connector as the microphone that came with the Pioneer receiver. Hope this helps. [ Kenny  Dec 30, 2016 ]  Staff
Technically this unit has a built in mic compatible to a Bluetooth capable phone. So it is not necessary to add one. This unit does have a aux input for this mic which should work, but as I mentioned not required. [ Samuel  Sep 25, 2016 ]
Product is flawless not one issue. [ GILBERT  Jan 20, 2015 ]
Yes it should . [ WILLIAM M  Jan 20, 2015 ]
I understand that this should work if it has a normal 3.5mm audio jack [ HARRY VEGA  Jan 20, 2015 ]
Greetings James, Sorry I am no expert, but most Pioneer mike jacks look the same, if you have a Blue tooth phone option. I used the one I ordered when I moved my DEH-6400BT to my next car. All I did was to look the mike up at Pioneer's site, and found Crutchfield usually has it, and also lists it by the Pioneer part number. Confirmed and ordered it. (Their price was low enough to even get the wrong one.) Good Luck. Tony [ ANTHONY S  Jan 20, 2015 ]
