Pioneer CD-IU201V- iPhone 4 connection cable

The interface cable for the Pioneer A/V to the iPhone4 worked perfect for the application. Crutchfield did it again with a great price, and fast delivery!

Pros: The cable fits snug and is not loose, the cable length is not too short, as this is what I was afraid of happening. Also the cable is of decent quality- not weak and thin as I was expecting for the low price.

Cons: No negative feedback- the interface cable works as expected.

works great

A cable for all brands

Dean A from Florida on 8/20/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great cable. Even though the description says it is for Pioneer head units it works great with my Kenwood. (Of course I got it from Crutchfield) The detachable audio side is why I got this one and it worked exactly as I had hoped. I was able to drill a hole in the dash right next to the USB input from the head unit and resulted in an awesome factory look. Now when I am not using it I can just unplug it from the dash and it looks great with nothing dangling free. If you need one I highly recommend this one, and not just for Pioneer gear.

Pros: Easy to install, detachable audio cable, works great with all brands.

Cons: None

Works as advertised. I used it to connect a 30 pin ipod to my Pioneer AVIC-5000 NEX. I can store videos on my iPod and watch them on the head unit.

Pros: Allow you to stream videos from an iPod to a Pioneer head unit.

Good cable, but...

The cable itself looks well made and it comes with an auxiliary extension but not a usb extension. Why not? You know that it's going to be too short.

Not Right

BrianM from Louisville, KY on 12/20/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this cable to work with Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS. This cable did not work with my IPhone 4S. It would work with an IPod but not my IPhone. Did not find out cable would not work until after a paid installation. Caused extreme amount of money, time and frustration.

Pros: Nothing. Did not work

Cons: Everything. Did not work

ipod video cable

Rayland from Alexandria, LA on 7/9/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

cable enables Ipod to play video on Pioneer video capable head units. Works as intended without difficulty. Remember however that video quality is limited to resolution of source material and video formats for Ipods may pixelate on larger display.

Pros: allows video as above

Cons: Ipod connector is too large to fit units when in rigid/plastic cases, will work with neoprene type cases.

Pioneer CD-IU201V

Dan from Portland, CT on 5/5/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It works very well. Just plugs in to the back of the receiver. I use it with a iPod Classic 120Gb. The iPod charges while connected. The cord was long enough to reach into the glove compartment of my 2004 F150 with room to spare. Data such as song information, album cover, etc is being displayed on the Pioneer receiver I purchased along with the cable.

Pros: Ease of installation. No problems with iPod operation or data transfer.

Cons: No lightning adapter

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Yes, it is expensive from Pioneer but thank you Crutchfield for offering an "Open Box" for $10 less. I selected this option and I am glad I did, saved some money and it works like a charm. Yes perhaps it could have been half as much, but all in all I am happy.

Pros: Works like it should

Cons: High cost, even with open box option

Too Expensive Pioneer

JeffP from Poquoson, VA on 2/4/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This cable works fine. But, it's an iphone cable. It's not magical. There is no reason this should cost this much. It's actually worse than HDMI cables and even Apple's own overpriced cables. This is no fault of Crutchfield.

Pros: Works

Cons: Way Overpriced Pioneer (and probably Apple)

Reviews for the Pioneer CD-IU201V

UweK from West Michigan,MI on 1/15/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this cable because I wanted more features other than music from my ipod touch 3rd. Gen. After drying 2 cheaper cables that did not work I ended up with this one. I still don't know what this cable can do because I never got video or any apps do show up on my main unit or seen any reviews do confirm what it can do or supposed to do.

Pros: Don't know yet

Cons: Short, pricey

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unfortunately, I had to purchase this product because I could no longer control my iPhone with the receiver remote when streaming music due to the new apple software update. This product restores that functionality, after connecting the phone to it.

Cons: No instructions on how to hook it up to the receiver.

Poor execution of a much needed cable.

James from Houston, OH on 6/25/2012

When used with an iPhone 4, connector is too big to fit through 4 different cases I tried. Luckily I have a case which is split just above the home button and I can remove the bottom portion when using the iPhone 4 with a dock. This allows the connector of this cable to make a good connection.

Pros: Works with audio AND video.

Cons: Why the big bulky connector, Pioneer?!? Cable is split into two cables at connector. Couldn't all of these wires fit into one?!?

If you have an USB/iPod cable that should work just fine. If I had it to do over I would just run an USB cable from back to front for maximum versatility. You can hook any and everything up to the USB.[ KRISTINA J  Jul 30, 2015 ]
The cable shown works for sure. I think a regular sub should work too, the stereo has a built in reception device for the usb that works for my iPhone to get the same results but it may be receiving the wifi signal at the same time. I think it's a safe bet to give the usb a try but a lock if you purchase the cable shown[ Ralph  Jul 29, 2015 ]
Yes u have to have this cable, u will also be able to play videos as well, this cable lets you control the ipod as well[ Douglas  Jul 29, 2015 ]
I just looked up your cable. That's only used to connect video to a head unit. Completely worthless for what you're trying. Just use a basic iPod cable and plug directly into the USB. Otherwise use the radio frequency adapter I spoke of. That's the answer to your problem.[ BRANDON  Jul 26, 2015 ]
I hate to say it, but if your 3.5MM jack on your iPod is shot then the only way to digitally transfer the music is through a USB/iPod cable. If you have the cable that has USB/3.5MM that's only needed to transfer video to DVD head units. And it all depends on the head unit. Otherwise you can buy a device that links your iPod to the stereo frequency on the radio. Those are fairly cheap these days and get the job done as the old tape deck players did. Not sure if that answers all your questions, as I'm not positive about the cables and/or problems you're referring to. Good-luck listening.[ BRANDON  Jul 26, 2015 ]
