Overview

Our take on the Pioneer TS-A1370R

Pioneer's goal is to build speakers that accurately cover the whole frequency spectrum — highs, mids, and lows. The TS-A1370R 3-way 5-1/4" speakers start with 3/8" PET silver film dome tweeters and 1-5/8" pearl polycarbon midranges for stellar coverage of the highs and mids.

The Aramid fiber-reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) woofers have excellent low-frequency response for strong, gutsy bass. Tough butyl rubber surrounds contribute to long life. Grilles are included.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these speakers to replace the rear door speakers in my 03 F150 SuperCrew. In general, I am very pleased. The speakers sound good for their size, but tend to distort if you really crank it up.

Features

Woofers: Each speaker features an interlaced Aramid fiber-reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone woofer. With long Aramid fibers interlacing together inside, this IMPP cone design provides the strength and rigidity powerful bass sound requires. The high-density, compressed internal architecture is resilient, stacks up against high power and transfers sound very quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich sound.

Midranges:Each speaker uses a 1-5/8" Foamed Pearl PolyCarbon (PPC) balanced dome midrange with magnetic fluid and a strontium magnet. PPC is a lightweight material that delivers high sensitivity, open sound character and smooth extended frequency response. Its high inner loss reduces distortion. It's blended with special carbon fiber for UV resistance and protection against the harsh environment of a car.

Tweeters:Each speaker uses a 3/8" PET silver film dome tweeter for crisp, clear highs.

Surrounds: For durability and a smoother response, each speaker uses a butyl rubber surround.
