Average Customer Review(s):
Nice upgrade from the paper originals. Easy install and good fit.
Pros: Good fit. Sound way better than originals.
perfect fit in place of OEM speakers which were shot....sound great....great price
Pros: easy installation
I replaced the stock speakers in my Windstar, and these are so great. easy to install , the harness made it super easy, no cutting. All my old CD's sound so much better. re discovering so much great music
Pros: easy to install, great sound
Cons: not a ton of bass
These installed great with Crutchfield's install kit. I'm not an audiophile by any means but these went in well and, for the price, a tenfold upgrade over the factory speakers. Sound great, affordable and super easy!!!
Pros: Easy install, sound great, helluva deal.
Cons: None yet. May not be for the snotty audiophile elitist but fit my bill nicely.
Great choice and great product
Pros: Cheapest price, came with installation equipment, fast shipping, solid product
The speakers were easy to place into manufacturer's harness. Crutchfield supplied the extra length bolts needed to secure the mesh screen and lock the speakers into the vehicle door.
Pros: The sound is great.
Cons: The speakers made me realize that I needed an HD receiver. Which I just purchased from Crutchfield.
These speakers are a good value and sound much better than the stock speakers they replaced in my F150. Paired them with new Kenwood DDX492 and a MTX sub. The system sounds great. The speakers were very easy to install and is a good fit for the F150. Only issue I had was the rear doors, speakers fit fine but the Ford factory screws had a built in washer head which was too large. Dremel tool with grinder bit took care of that.
Pros: Good sound considering the cost. Don't expect much low end bass out of these, but that is what a sub is for.
Paired with Pioneer DEH-X6600BT in my 2002 Ford F-150, with supplied wires install was easy and took less than an hour for Radio and speakers, major improvement over stock.
Pros: easy install, sounds good
Not as clear as I like
Cons: Boxy sound
Great clarity and mid range power. Freshened up the old factory speaker system. Install material makes it "idiot proof".
Pros: Great price and clarity of sound.
Cons: Less bass when used as stand alone speaker system.
The speakers they said fit my front speakers in my 95 Ford f150 xlt regular cab did not correctly match up. So I had to go to the store and get right size because I wanted the speakers in that day. But the back speakers and head unit all fit. Overall happy. Just have to return the other speakers. And you can't beat the free shipping and them giving right materials to install the stuff.
Added these to rear of my 97 T-Bird. Quick & easy install nice sound
Just bought a 2005 F-150 SuperCrew and one front and one rear speaker were blown. Decided to spend a little money and upgrade the whole system. Bought two sets of these and a JVC head unit and let me tell you, these are a great upgrade from factory. Very crisp sound when paired with a headunit putting out 22 watts RMS. Install was relatively easy, but for my front door panels I had to cut off a pair of extra mounting holes. Easy enough with a pair of dikes. Not sure how they would sound with a factory head unit but with the upgrade they sound very good. Decent mid range bass for a 50 dollar speaker and very good highs. Plan on pairing these with a JL w3 10 soon to compensate for the lack of low bass these provide. Would definately recommend spending the money.
Pros: Crisp Decent bass Good Highs
I didn't realize how poor my 21 year old speakers really were until I installed these. It has more base and is much more clear than my old ones. Although by today's standards they aren't ultra, mega premium, they are a nice and much needed improvement on my old speakers(Especially for the price).
Pros: Price, Ease of Installation, All the wiring needed was included, Packaging and Shipping, Drops right in(unboxed, removed the old ones and put the new ones in within 20 minuets)
Cons: None that I am aware of.
Switched out stock speakers out of Ford Freestyle. Could tell the difference almost immediately. As suggested, this change was made easy by the design of the speaker and the adapters included in the delivery. When I first started driving over 25 years ago, switched out speakers with Pioneer. Continue to be a quality product.
Pros: Quick and easy installation. Better sound than stock.
Worked as described to replace my 2011 Mariner speaker which had torn. For the price, cheaper than Ford wanted just to look.
Pros: Worked as described, good speaker.
Cons: Cheap cover.
Fantastic sound and what a combo deal with deck.
Pros: Clear Sound over factory speakers.
I replaced my 2002 Tacoma speakers with these. After 5 minutes, I put the factory speakers back in. They are incredibly weak, and at 12 RMS and medium volume, they rattle. I worked at a stereo shop for 4 years, so I have some experience, and these are some of the worst speakers I've ever heard. You get what you pay for.
I bought these as a replacement for my 15 year old OEM Ford truck speakers, the installation was easy and the sound is great!
Pros: Low price easy install
This speakers are way better over the stock speakers on my 2010 ford f-150. Not a whole lot of bass but defenitely better sound, figured the will go even better with a good sub.
Pros: Easy and fast installation. Connectors a big plus and nice addition from the crutchfield guys.
Cons: None yet.
Good overall sound and quality for the price. I would buy these again.
Installed these in a 1992 Mustang Convertible back panel Nice update over the 22 year speakers.
Pros: Great crisp, clear sound.
replaced my 17 y/o factory speakers with these and no surprise, they sound leaps and bounds better. the separate tweeter on these speakers are amazing, you can here really high tones at the same time a mid or bass note is playing.
Pros: great range, value and build quality.
Very good sounding speakers for the money. Lows and highs are excellent.
I kept the old speakers in for a while before I tackled installing the new ones. What a difference new speakers make! My car is an 01 Mercury Grand Marquis. The original speakers seemed to sound fine. After putting the new ones in, I realize the old ones were crap. Wow!
Pros: Awesome sound, great fit!
Cons: Ugh. The difficulty installing speakers is not the speakers' fault. I'm just too old to crawl around in the back of the car like that.
good quality speaker inexpensive price
Pros: inexpensive, good build quality
I ordered 6 of these for my E-series Chateau wagon. The great range of the speakers fill up the van.
Great speakers. They sound much better than my old whipped out stock speakers, and they were VERY cost effective. I have a 95 dodge dakota, and the installation wasn't perfect. They didn't quite fit the stock mount right, but I got around it. Otherwise, great for what they are, a cheap way to freshen up your system, and get better than stock sound.
Pros: Very cost effective. Good sound, better than stock
Cons: Didn't quite fit my application perfectly. No huge deal, but they are advertised as a direct replacement, and I had to fab a little.
Very easy installation that took less than an hour for all 4 speakers. The difference in sound quality is simply amazing versus the old stock speakers in my 2011 F150. The sound is right on....so was the price.
Pros: Quick and easy installation. Good price for the quality
Installed in an '04 F150. The included speaker wire adapters were an easy plug and play, providing the needed slack I surely would have needed if I'd had to cut and splice. This alone was worth ordering from Crutchfield versus the minimal savings I had found at a local retailer. Installation of these speakers were easy, requiring me to bend only one accessory tab (by hand or pliers) out of the way. Its a simple bolt-in, 10 minute job using the factory screws. These speakers sound great even with the minimal tone adjustment available with the factory head unit. Nice bass, mids and highs. I am very pleased. Update: A couple of weeks after the initial install, I installed a sub and amp. As good as these speakers sounded before, they sound even better now. I highly recommend these speakers!
Pros: Price, ease of installation, sound great and included speaker wire adapters to boot.
These are the first after market speakers that I have purchased and I installed them all by myself, no problem. They sound a lot better than factory speakers but I was not blown away. Although for the price tag you should not expect to be blown away.
Pros: Easy to install, great price, good sound for the price, very clear sound
Pros: easy install
great sound for decent price.
Pros: crisp sound, even with stock radio in for expedtion.
Cons: none yet
I am enjoying this item in my truck it sounds great!
Pros: Great if you want good after market speakers for your car
Installed these in an 02 Explorer in all 4 doors. They sound great and have nice bass for the cost. A noticeable improvement over the factory speakers. Well built and a solid brand. I would buy again.
Pros: Sound, build quality
they're ok better than stock the sound is good for budget speakers
Pros: easy to install and the sound is better than stock
GREAT PRODUCT AND SOUND QUALITY
Changing out speakers is dirt cheap, and the best bang for the buck for stereo upgrades. It took 7 minutes per side on a Ford Super Duty to remove the door panels, mount the speakers, and reinstall panels. Now the stock stereo sounds great!
Pros: Almost free, immediately solved the poor OEM speaker problem.
Much clearer than original speakers in my Ranger.
Pros: Improvement over factory speakers.
A much needed improvement over the factory speakers. Better bass and improved highs create a much better sound experience. For the price, you really can't beat these speakers.
Pros: sound quality, ease of installation. price
Cons: nothing so far to complain about
Excellent, you can't go wrong.
Pros: These fit for my application perfectly. No problems at all. I was sure what I needed at order time and checked with Crutchfield staff to verify my choices. Great sound, Super great price.
These speakers and the wiring harness provided free from Crutchfield.com worked perfectly on my application. I didn't want the top of the line speakers, just something to replace the ones that had seen better days. The speakers fit right in the holes, it came with all the necessary hardware.
Pros: Went in easy, and wiring was a snap. The sound quality was better than the old speakers which had been completely destroyed by all the years in the heat out here in the desert Southwest. The price was what I was looking for, something not over one hundred dollars, but a good quality product. I had help from the Crutchfield specialist when it was hard to choose the product. The specialist provided some speakers that would work for my vehicle on Crutchfield.com website.
Cons: No cons, worked perfectly and functioned properly.
Pioneer has once again impressed me, and for not alot of cash. A good looking well made speaker, that sounds great. While not being quite a competition set, you would never know unless your into that. I very much recommend pioneers ts-g6844r for a no amp high power deck installation. Cant go wrong for the $$$.
Pros: Inexpensive, great look, souds great,
this line of pioneers should only be considered for low volume and replacement purposes only, these things rattled and distorted badly at any higher volume.
Pros: cheap replacements
Cons: distorted and rattled badly
The speakers are really good for the price. I haven't fully broken them in yet and they're a massive upgrade from my 2014 Mustang GT (Base) stock speakers. Fit perfectly, though had to bend back the two small rings that I assume are there for universal fit. The instructions sent by Crutchfield were spot on and the adapter cables were a very welcome addition. Can't beat free adapters either!
Have been working a lot, so I've only got to install them and got a little of what they do for my 1999 F-150. The speakers are great for an old guy like me cause the can hit the lows and highs crisp w/ having subs and tweeters added to my system. Got this new DEH-X2600UI and wanted something to match and Crutchfield did the work for me. Still working on how to tweek my stereo, but for now the speakers kick!
Pros: Simple to install (just don't over tighten the screws like some did. Great range for the size.
Great speaker for the money!
This is a great factory replacement. Installment was a breeze, and sound so much better than old factory speakers.. The bass is not the best, but I run a powered 8" sub... Very pleased with this purchase...
Pros: Great factory replacement.
Cons: Bass is not great, sub is highly recommended..
I changed out my stock speakers for these and the sound is very good.
Pros: Fit right into the factory mounting location without no cutting required
Cons: The price was a little higher than other places but I bought the rest if my equipment at such a great deal it was well worth it.
sound great, fit perfect
Pros: fit perfect in door speaker location on 2005 ford f150 great upgrade from oem
These speakers sound very good with the old Pioneer head unit and small Pioneer amp in my truck. They are inexpensive without sounding cheap. They rock.
Pros: Good price. Good sound. Easy installation.
Cons: None so far
The speakers have a good quality sound. I replaced all 4 door speakers in a 2012 Escape. Install was rather simple with the added wiring harness adaptors that were included. I was done with the install of all four speakers in roughly an hour and a half.
Pros: Perfect factor replacement fit.
They fit perfectly into the Ford factory speaker locations with no mods or complications
Pros: Very clear and sparkling high end
Cons: Not much bottom end but still much better than factory speakers
Great pair of speakers for the money. Replaced the factory speakers in f-150. The sound difference from stock to these is mind blowing. If your just looking to upgrade your stock speakers I highly recommend these. If your building a competition system then these are probably not what your after.
Pros: Sound great.
Cons: None. Perfect for what I needed.
Pros: Works great
Great sound quality for a drop in replacement speaker. Decent bass for this type of speaker, just using the head unit for power. Awesome highs.
Pros: easy drop in installation, Great highs.
Cons: for the price, none
I bought a pair of alpine speakers before these and they were 3 times the cost. Of course I returned them because I was on a tight bugdet and got these instead. These by far sound much better and don't get as distorted as easily. Great speakers.
Good stock replacement speakers. Nothing bad to say
Pros: Price and sound
These speakers, overall, are pretty good. They seem to be built sort of cheap however. For how much I paid for them, I am impressed. These speakers also provide a decent amount of lows with decent mids and highs as well. Decent speaker
Pros: nice to look at. decent lows
Cons: Dont seem very sturdy
Needed to replace the factory speakers. I put Pioneer TS-A874M (no longer available) in the front and these in the back. Much cleaner bas and treble the 2 ways were a perfect choice to not over drive the highs provided by the front door 3 way speakers. Works great with the "Premium" stock sound system
Pros: Great sound, easy install with the wiring adaptor.
It was fast and easy to shop and install
Pros: Quick easy instal great quality
Great sound no distortion
Completely satisfied with these speakers. A Crutchfield rep recommended these speakers for my rear doors on my Focus, and Pioneer three ways for the front. He knew I didn't want to spend a lot of money and that I already had an eight inch bazooka tube. He was right. For the price I paid, I don't think I could be happier. They sound very good. Much better than my factory speakers which I though sounded good, until I powered these up.
Pros: Price, sound, installation.
Cons: None as of yet.
The sound quality is pretty good considering the price. Great treble without piercing highs. Clear mids. And the lows were so bassy that at first I didn't realize that the amp was blown on the factory 8" woofer. Very pleased with these speakers.
Pros: Clear sound throughout. Easy installation (fit perfectly into 2002 Ford Expedition front and rear doors).
Cons: Nothing really, I just always feel like speakers can do better.
Used these as replacements for all four locations in my Escape. Decent bass for the listening I do, and much clearer highs than the stock speakers. after breaking one of the adapters and having to epoxy it back together I figured out that not using the factory screws with built in washers was the way to go.
Pros: decent sound for the money. Sound stage even seems to have been raised somewhat.
Cons: Use screws supplied with speakers, not the factory screws as recommended.
Ridiculously easy to install in my '99 Ford Ranger; however, the upgrade in sound quality is barely noticeable. I guess the 14 year old American made Ford speakers I replaced are better than I thought.
Pros: Easily installed.
Cons: very little increase is sound quality...
Good quality speakers for the price. Direct fit easy to replace, everything you need included for a low price. Quick free shipment.
Pros: Easy direct fit installation on the 1995 Ford Windstar. Crutchfield even threw in the speaker plug adapter for free so no wire cutting was required. Speakers sound great and can handle extra power if the radio is upgraded at a later time.
Cons: 1995 Ford Windstar with the 1995 version of a premium stereo. Original speakers were matched to the low power stereo so the produced the lowest tones better than the new speakers since the stereo does not have enough power to properly drive the new speakers. Then again you don't have to worry about blowing up the new speakers like the old ones did.....
Just what the doctor ordered, something that fits just like original equipment but with far better sound, in a word, perfect!
Pros: Fit and sound
Speaker fit perfect the instructions were very good they sound so much better than my old speakers that came with truck
Pros: Great price
Cons: Non so far
Pioneer speakers match up with any player and give rich, full sound.
Pros: great sound, low price, perfect fit in my car
Cons: none yet
bought these for the back of my f150 and they met my expectations just fine. I did easily break the plastic ring by tightening the screws too tight but does not seem to affect sound.
Pros: good value
Cons: trim breaks easily
Easy installation, sound much better than stock speakers
Pros: Very clear sound
Cons: Bass a little thin
Has definite improvement over stock not as high as I was hoping but overall very nice no bass all mid and highs but with a small sub perfect
Sound good for the price, rattle a little with hard hitting bass.
Pros: Price, pretty good sound
They're okay speakers for the money - while they lasted. However, the plastic ring around the rim of the body of the actual speaker has a knack of coming off and rattling. EXTREMELY annoying. My first set I had replaced free of charge through here, and I was warned not to push it too hard for the first few weeks of use. Okay, fair enough. I followed that advice, but the plastic rings still came off after 2 weeks of light use and 3 weeks of medium - heavy use. Shortly after one of them blew at 3/4 volume. I'm not sure if I'm just over working these speakers, or if they're just crap. Note: I'm not running an amp to my speakers, just directly to my Pioneer head unit. I do run a separate amp and sub.
Pros: They sound good when they're not vibrating themselves apart
Cons: They tend to vibrate themselves apart.
Bought these to replace the 13 year old stock in my f-150. Not quite as good of speaker as the pioneer 3-way I put in the front door over a year ago, but they sound a thousand times better than the stock.
Pros: Easy to install, sound good powered by just the head unit
Cons: Not as loud as I would like
I bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 2005 Lincoln LS. I had managed to blow out a couple of them. The car has 12 speakers and I started with two of these for the front doors. Shipping was real fast. I received the speakers 3 days after ordering them. They were packed very well and arrived in perfect condition. They fit perfectly in my car and the speaker wire adapter supplied by Crutchfield made the wire connections real easy. I made the switch using the directions (also supplied by Crutchfield) in about 20 minutes. They sound great - much better than stock even before I blew them out. I have already ordered 2 more of the same for the back doors. .
Pros: Price was right, Fast shipping, Perfect fit, Good instructions, Good sound
Cons: None at this point. I am happy with my purchase
Was a perfect fit for all 4 doors of my 04 Ford Explorer. Sound is excellent with my Pioneer head unit and the factory sub. The free wire harnesses from Crutchfield made install a snap.
Pros: Great sound for the money
These are great speakers paired with the JVC head unit Crutchfield recommended. After reading other reviews I almost didn't buy them because others said the bass was weak. After installing them I was blown away, tons of bass. This was the best car stereo system I have ever purchased for the price and I've installed a few :)
Pros: Great speaker for the money!!!
For the price they are great. For now they are paired with my stock head unit and rear speakers so whenever I turn the volume to full blast they distort. Surly this is the head-units fault because it is rated at 7 watts max per channel. Anyways the bass is good, much better than I expected. I will buy a head-unit from pioneer soon because of the speakers quality.
Pros: Bass, value
GREAT SPEAKER AT A GOOD PRICE!
I have always been a Pioneer fan and still am. If your questioning whether these will work or not let me explain. Great OE replacement they won't have a ton of bass but the new sound will blow you away and they will last for a long time. If your looking for more bass look to a sub or bass tube!!!!!
Pros: Great quality sound and price
These speakers are great for their price and just awesome. I bought them for my explorer due to my speakers going out and they are clear at loud levels and make my car feel entirely better. Plus when you order from crutchfield they send you a wiring kit that only takes a few seconds to hook up to the speakers for FREE!
These are great speakers they sound amazing and they fit right in the factory mounting hole in my Mazda b4000. With the master sheet and the wire harness that crutchfield sends with installation couldn't have been any easier.
Pros: Easy to install. Sound great.
These speakers are a great replacement for the doors in my Ranger.
Pros: Good sound quality from a reasonably priced speaker.
Nice sounding speaker, great deal for the money.
Pros: Easy to install Great sound Attractive appearance
Cons: Saturation in some mid-range combinations
My blown factory speakers in '95 Ford Windstar sounded better. Very "tinny" sound with no bass. I also ordered some 5-1/4" JBL speakers that were cheaper and sounded WAY better. I did not use with a crossover, but if you are spending the money to do things right with a crossover, spend a little more and get good speakers.
Cons: Terrible sound. Can get better speakers for less money. Don't consider unless using a crossover and subwoofer.
So, just for kicks, I hooked these up and played them full range without a crossover and with my sub off. In that application, the factory speakers in my F150 actually sound better, as these are really weak on bass. However, as a mid/high speaker, these are definitely worth the price. I crossed mine at 140 hz, but you will probably want to cross them over no lower than 100 hz. I crossed mine over at 140 because my sub is only a 150 watt 10", and my door speakers are driven by a 16 wpc Sony head unit (also from Crutchfield). With the bass handled by the sub, these sound very, very good for a coax speaker. Do they rival a component system, of course not, but try finding a component speaker system for this price. Super easy to hook up with the included Ford wiring adapters. My five-star rating takes into account the price tag.
Pros: Great mids and highs for a budget speaker. Nice clarity when subs do the heavy lifting.
Cons: The bass is weak so they are not great for factory replacement without subs.
These are pretty good speakers especially for the price. I replaced my factory speakers in my '13 Mustang with these Pioneer's. Installation was easy and the most difficult part was getting to the speakers and still not bad. They sound good when listening to Hard Rock, clean and nice bass. After breaking them in for a couple of weeks, my commute is only 15 minutes each way to work., I turned them up loud and there was a little bit of distortion at the highest volume level, but could be the factory radio and I don't listen to the music that loud anyway. A decent amp would help these speakers out though.
Pros: price, clean sound, decent bass
Cons: none really
Speakers offer very good sound over factory speakers. Price was a good deal as well. I didn't want to break the bank to get good sound in my truck. These speakers were the perfect fit.
Pros: Good sound, good highs from these speakers.
Cons: Not a whole low of low bass response, but good for the size of the speakers.
got these to replace factory speakers in F150 fit was exact match to factory setup and the sound is so much clearer than before
Pros: easy install, good sound quality
Cons: none so far
Decent speaks, good price, fairly efficient, not the best quality but an upgrade over stock for less than the price of a tank of gas ...power them up and hammer on them because they do get decently loud ...could use more mid bass though but you get what you pay for
Cons: No mid bass
Replaced the factory 6x9s in my wagon tailgate. The Ford Mach system (tuner with external amp, 6 speakers) in my car is quite good but these speakers pump out more sound and thumping bass. Big improvement.
Pros: Better sound than factory. Dirt cheap price. Hassle free Crutchfield sales & support.
Cons: Didn't jump out of the box and install themselves.
Very easy to install in both rear door and front door, especially with the step by step instructions from Crutchfield.
These are pretty good stock replacement speakers, I'm happy with them. I did have a wiring issue with the ford adapters, they were catching and pulling apart when I roll my windows down but Crutchfield was great help in getting this issue fixed for me.
Pros: Clear sound for a good price.
Cons: Good bass but I'd like a little more.
I was very happy with the ease of installation of these speakers. The instructions that came with them were correct for my vehicle, and easy to follow and understand. The speakers sound pretty good, but was exactly what I needed for my daily driver.
Pros: Ease of installation. Good sound. Inexpensive.
Cons: None that I can see
I found these speakers to be a economical choice. They fit my need and the sound is clear. I would not buy these if you are looking for any bass. The Crutchfield installation guide was easy and straight forward.
Pros: Clear mids and highs better than OEM
Cons: lacking the bass
Great speakers for the price range. Installation is simple with Crutchfield's guide. The job took 25-30 minutes to do and the speakers sound great. They could use a bit more bass, but for 2 way speakers, they do the job just fine. Always been a fan of Pioneer and they haven't disappointed me yet.
Pros: Cheap, easy installation, great sound for this price range
Cons: Could use a little more bass
Pioneer does it again. I couldn't have asked for better door speakers at this price. They work perfectly with my Pioneer head unit, which may help their performance some. I put only my highs and mids out through them and there is no distortion whatsoever, no matter how loud I go, no crossover or anything.
Far and away much better sound than the factory paper-cone door speakers in my 2003 Miata MX-5. More bass, handles full volume with the factory SANYO head unit. I've noticed some reviewers for these speakers say they are getting less bass than their old speakers. *TIP... Whenever there is more than one speaker, polarity becomes very important. All speakers have a positive (+) and a negative (-) connection. If you accidentally reverse these on one of your two speakers then one cone moved in the opposite direction the other does in effect taking back the bass produced by the other one. A bass "cancellation" if you will. One cone moves outward while the other moved inward, working against one another. This can be easily detected by ear. With balance in the middle, position your head directly between the two speakers (equidistant from both). If you hear flattened bass turn the balance to one or the other so only one plays. If your bass comes back then one is wired "out of phase" with respect to the other. Just reverse the wires one. When you have four speakers both the rears or just one can also be out of phase with the fronts. Installing them correctly I'm sure you will be pleased with the results the Pioneer's provide.
Pros: Relatively low cost. Non-paper cones. Non-Foam surround material for long lasting durability.
Cons: Do not include cover grills.
Nice sound, much better that the OEM variety. The instructions and wiring adapters were excellent for my Ford F-150. The hardest part was disconnecting the effort wire connectors to the door panel switches.
Reasonable price terrific sound, easy to install.
Sound much clearer than stock.
Pros: Can hear all of the tones better from treble to bass much clearer. Replaced all 4 for under $100. Direct replacement.
Sound ok, but no bass (the factory paper speakers sound better!), but the biggest grip is they do not fit my Mazda B2500 even though the Crutchfield size finder program said they would. I finally got the front two spaekresto fit by removing the plastic modled frame that said "Custom fit for Ford/Mazda", but busted one of the rear one trying to get it to fit, so i ended up throwing away the busted one and the other good one because of the hassle (took about 4 hours of messing around with them...) and the lack of bass. don't waste your money unless you absolutely have to replace your old speakers.
Cons: Did not fit B2500 Mazda Pick up Truck extended cab
Awesome price, and they sound great too.
I purchase 4 of these for my 2005 F150. install was a snap with the supplied instructions and wire adaptors. The good...excellent mids and highs which was far superior to factory speakers. The bad..believe it not these speakers have less bass than the generic paper factory speakers...and i have an aftermarket high power head unit powering these new pioneer's, .so I was disappointed to say the least..
Pros: great price good mid's and highs
Cons: poor bass response
Great gear I was able to grab for my stock system right niw
Pros: Everything fit in well, sounds muuuccchhhhh better than my old stock ones and still have room to go quality wise once I get my amp on them!!!
Cons: Not related but a door release cup on a Taurus 1997 comes out after prying from the top, or it breaks as the door gets pulled on by a Guy who didn't see how to take it out!!
Bought these to go in the rear deck of a 2002 Grand Marquis. I am not a big fan of pioneer but based on the reviews and price I decided to try these and I'm glad I did. I was a little nervous about the install but with the provided instructions it was beyond simple and I was done in about 45 minutes. The speakers themselves sound great, better bass response than the $110 Infinity 6x8's installed in the front doors. I was actually shocked at the amount of bass these put out, it's not phenomenal by any means but it was much more than I was expecting. I would definitely recommend these to anyone, they have great and clear highs and the bass only gets "bouncy" on fast paced rock songs.
Pros: Clarity, Price, Easy to install
Cons: None so far
Nice fit, easy install. These do rattle when installed. One crutchfield rep seamed to believe baffles will help, but when i called back, new tech said find what is in the trunk, or dynamat the trunk. This is a 1999 escort, the dynamat would cost more than the value of the car.
Pros: Decent sound
Cons: Rattles, still
These little speakers sound great, and will be buying more!
Cons: Not made well, missing some pieces.
These Pioneer TS-G6844R were mounted in the front doors of my 2002 Ford Ranger replacing factory speaker blown by my son. They provide outstanding sound quality with the new JVC Arsenal KDA735BT. I won't even compare them to factory sound, but I consider myself a low-budget audiophile and these speakers provide excellent sound reproduction. They have a nice balanced sound across the spectrum. Crutchfield has a great price on these great speakers too. Of course I mounted them with XTC 6x8 oval sound cups and put FatMat in the doors, but I would recommend a pair of these Pioneers anytime.
Pros: Great sound and great fit in 2002 Ranger
Exact fit and adapters & instructions were spot on. Hoping the sound warms up as it lacks bass depth ... somewhat muddy. However mid and upper range are awesome even with the stock head unit.
Pros: High and mid range clarity, efficient with strong sound from stock receiver, no distortion, perfect OEM replacement, great value
Cons: Bass clarity
Big improvement over the stock, paper cone speakers. Well worth it. Clearer highs and less muddy bass.
Loud and clear
These were a perfect replacement and only took about 30 min to change both front door speakers.
Speakers sound great. Install was very easy and everything I needed was right in the box. Thanks for making the experience painless. These are a great replacement for the stock speakers that my daughter blew out, hahaha. Price was right and I replaced both fronts and rears.
I actually bought these speakers because when I listened to a bunch, I thought that had really good sounding mids, plus an all around good sound. They were cheap as well. I installed them in the back doors of my ranger with the baffles, some dynamat, and a little acoustic foam in a key spot inside the door. The speakers were a pain to install because the frames bend very easily. I found that the only way to avoid bending them is to carefully tighten all of the bolts evenly and slowly. One of the plastic rims came off also. I had to super-glue it back on. After that hassle, I finally got them tightened down and the doors plastics put back on. I was very surprised with a solid sound. These speakers don't drop very low, but I have a sub, that why I don't care how low they drop. I was actually able to lower my crossover point a little on the sub and speakers due to the upgrade, which I was really hoping for! The speakers are really solid to around 60 Hz where the sub picks up. I got the cheap ones because I won't hear the back speakers much anyway, but I am pleasantly surprised. Very clean, and warm sound. After I got all the bugs worked out, these speakers are great! I highly recommend the baffles and some dynamat. I tried with and without and I chose with.
Pros: Good sound quality for the price as long as they are installed properly. Warm and clean sounding. Look stylish.
Cons: Frames are not sturdy enough. One of them broke when installing.
This couldn't have been easier. The speakers brought new life into the car that the stock ones had never produced. I bought these because my passenger side speaker went out but after the ease of instillation and the help from curchfield i'm ready to replace the back ones too.
Pros: Great warm sound, easy instillation
The speakers are exactly as reviewed. Only real siginifcant area of complaint is the bass response. The speakers are really not capable of significant bass.
Pros: Cost, size, quality
Cons: lact of bass response
Great speakers! Solid bass, very clear mids, sparkling highs. I listen to a variety of music and they sound good for everything. Kick drums seem to be "boxy" but not bothersome. There's bass in your face. Great price! Super easy installation with Crutchfield's included directions and wiring harnesses.
Pros: Inexpensive. Great sound and volume.
Cons: May be a bit boxy in the low end but not bad.
2007 Ford Taurus; driver's side speaker was buzzing - sounded like people were speaking under water. Took a chance that the problem was the speaker, not the left channel of the stereo, and ordered a new speaker from Crutchfield. Ordered Tuesday afternoon, arrived via UPS Wednesday evening (with free shipping!). Very clear, easy-to-follow instructions how to remove the door panel (I'd already found a YouTube that showed me how). Wiring adapter fit perfectly, speakers went right in, no more gargling from the driver's side speaker.
Pros: Fast, free shipping, excellent, easy installation instructions, good speakers - what's not to like? Nicely done!
Cons: Not a thing.
Can't get any better than this for the money!I love these speakers and ordered one day,got them the next day. Thanks
great sound easy install
very good speakers, at a great price. Big improvement over stock. Simple bolt in installation.
Great SOUND and Great Value all wrapped up into one sale. that have great sound and work awesome in my 2006 Ford F350 Superduty.
Pros: easy install and great sound.
I have replaced evey stock speaker in my vehicles over the years with Pioneer aftermarkets. These, however, are a huge dissapointment. Because I can't replace the stock stereo in my new Mustang (the faceplate is an insane $400.00 alone!) I'm going to hang on to the TS-G6844R's until I can replace the deck some day to see if it's the stock unit. In the meantime, I put the stock ones back in :/
Great speakers. Good sound. Vast improvement over stock.
Pros: Exact fit easy instillation.
Sound great compared to 12 year old OEM speakers . . . Installation was easy . . . Ford has made door panel removal simple . . . the Crutchfield supplied wiring adapter saved hours on installation. the Pioneer supplied wires would have required cutting wires and re-connecting with possible soldering . . . Crutchfield's adapters were "plug and play"!
Pros: Easy installation with the Crutchfield supplied wires . . . an excellent replacement speaker for a standard car stereo setup. . . quick shipment; the speakers arrived before my credit card was charged!
Great sounding speakers. My stock speakers were worn out. Music sounds great. Gave it 4 stars only because the highs are not as crisp as they could be. other than that sounds great.
Pros: Handles Base fine
Cons: High notes not as crisp as I would like.
Great shipping. The best product.
They are okay.
Pros: Sounds good
Cons: flimsy material so make sure u dont puncture it!
These speakers fit the rear panels of my 1990 Bronco II perfectly, and sound is great! The old "Premium Sound System" that was in the vehicle didn't work at all, and the radio was an old cassette player type, so I decided to replace/bypass the whole system with new stuff. The Crutchfield people were extremely helpful in picking the right speakers, both these for the back and the door speakers. A true audiophile might not be as happy with these speakers as I am, but they work just fine for me!
Pros: Fit in place of the stock speakers perfectly.
Cons: None i'm aware of.
Speakers sound great, but listing said exact fit. I only got two or three screw holes to line up.
AN EXCELLENT INEXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT OVER FORD'S REAR DECK STOCK SPEAKERS USING THE OEM HEAD UNIT. THE BASS WON'T BLOW YOUR WINDOWS OUT, HOWEVER THEY PRODUCE A DEEPER/PUNCHIER BASS, A MORE DEFINED MIDRANGE & A CRISPER/CLEARER HIGH END!!!
Pros: EASY TO INSTALL, REASONABLY PRICED,TREATED CLOTH SPEAKER SURROUNDS WHICH LAST A VERY LONG TIME, GOOD EFFICIENCY & A NOTICEABLE SOUND IMPROVEMENT OVER STOCK!!!
Cons: NONE FOR THIS INSTALLATION!!!
These speakers are crap. They work like they are supposed to. They don't sound much better than stock speakers (if at all). I was expecting more... I went cheap and in this case I got what I paid for. On the other hand though. Crutchfield did an excellent job getting these to me promptly. Very fast shipping! I was pleasantly surpised to see the wiring schematic, and jumper wires included (all for free!). I'll be a return customer.
Pros: They make sound. Barely better than stock???
Cons: Poor sound reproduction. Can't handle any bass.
Bought these as a replacement for my stock speakers in my 2000 Ford Mustang. Installation of the Speakers were a breeze after I got the door panels off. They put out some good, clear sound. Nothing spectacular for the bass right of the bat of course. Should either get components or subs if you need alot of "boom". This being said, after installation of my aftermarket head unit I can tamper with the settings and make these things produce some nice bass. Crisp all around though.
Pros: Easy to install. Clear crisp sound that handles high volume well. Tight bass with amp or custom headunit.
Cons: If you want to make your local police department angry you will probably need a subwoofer. Cheerio!
Great replacement speaker for factory originals whose life has ended.
Pros: Easy installation with provided instructions.
The sound is poor worse than factory stock speakers, the volume is half, little bass, put old speakers back they are better. Buy anything else.
Pros: Easy install
sound great, plenty of bass for such a little speaker. Simple installation and makes a huge improvement over stock speakers.

Glad you asked. I purchased these for my sons 1st truck, a standard cab '02 Ranger. We replaced fhe head unit from a factory am/fm only to great Pioneer deck. We first bought these then he wanted more so we added kickers right behind seat. The ones in his truck sound amazing. They handle bass well for what he listens to. He listens to country and rock. Theyay not handle bass demands of rap. He is happy. If you can go bigger like 6x9 go for it. Best thing is crutchfield stands behind everything.[ FRED W Aug 10, 2014 ]
It was a year ago when I bought these, but from what I remember, yes. They come with covers, but I did not use them. They went in place of the factory speakers in my truck. Sorry for getting back to you so late. Been real busy.[ JOHN A Jul 14, 2014 ]
Maribeth, I have found almost all do not have covers as the utilize the factory grills. These were bought for my son's first pickup and they sound great. Hope this helps Fred[ FRED W Jul 13, 2014 ]
I don't believe there were. they were installed in a car we no longer have. sorry I could not be of more help.[ LYLE Jul 11, 2014 ]
Hi there is no covers with speakers they will go in place where old vehicle speakers are behind doors. There should be a cover on your door that is built in. You have to tak door apart and unscrew 2-3 screws on old speaker and pull the two wires off connections. Then match the new speaker screw holes up with existing screws and put the two wires back on.[ LUKE Jul 11, 2014 ]

No, covers do not come with these speakers.[ BENJAMIN J Jul 11, 2014 ]
