From Pioneer: App Radio Live
Our take on the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT by Crutchfield's Ken Nail
Built-in Bluetooth® with Siri Eyes Free support
Once you've driven with a Bluetooth receiver, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Pioneer's AVH-X2600BT DVD receiver brings all the advantages of a touchscreen receiver to your vehicle, along with the convenience and safety of Bluetooth. You'll enjoy hands-free calling with your compatible phone, plus the ability to wirelessly stream and control music from compatible phones and other Bluetooth devices. And if you've got an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5/5S/5C, you can take advantage of Siri Eyes Free functionality, using your voice to to place calls, select music, hear notification, add reminders — even compose and listen to text messages.
You'll enjoy a variety of display options with the AVH-X2600BT.
Smartphone-ready with MirrorLink™
Tap into the potential of your smartphone safely when you get behind the wheel. The MirrorLink system provides unparalled in-dash control over an ever-growing list of Android™ smartphones, including the popular Samsung Galaxy S III and Nokia Symbian models. With MirrorLink, you'll enjoy touchscreen control from your Pioneer over music, phone contacts, and select apps — connect your compatible phone via USB and enjoy a seamless experience. Pioneer's CD-ML100 MirrorLink adapter is required (not included).
Slick touchscreen controls
Touch Slide technology adds a new dimension to fingertip control over many functions. Want a new EQ curve? Just draw it on the screen with your finger and you've got it. And you can browse video files through thumbnail images — just touch them to check out a sneak preview.
You can also change the receiver's appearance to match your dash by choosing from five display colors and 112 key panel illumination options. And when you're ready to get the party started, MIXTRAX will liven up your time on the road. This feature creates a DJ-like experience with content from your iPod®, iPhone, or Android, adding special effects between songs and variable-color lighting that pulses with the beat of your music.
The receiver's 6.1" LCD screen plays DVDs and other video content in bright, clear detail when you're parked. You can keep your passengers entertained by sending video from the receiver to a rear-seat screen — that sure makes those long road trips go faster. You'll be able to view video content from your iPod or IPhone with the addition of optional cables (check the "Details" tab for full information). And you can play it safe when you throw it into reverse by plugging in a rear-view camera.
Ready to roll with your mobile devices
When you connect your iPod to the rear USB input cable, you'll be able to use the receiver's controls to access your playlists. Handy tools like Alphabet Search and Link Search to make it easier to find the song you want fast. Android users aren't left out in the cold either. Many Android phones support the Pioneer Connect app, which lets the receiver access music files when your Android is plugged in via USB.
If you're a fan of streaming Internet radio, connect your iPhone to the receiver with Pioneer's CD-IU201S cable and take charge of your Pandora® account from the touchscreen, complete with thumbs-up and thumbs-down controls. And don't forget, you can also enjoy all your CDs, DVD and CD discs full of MP3 or WMA music, or USB storage devices loaded with files.
Crisp and powerful sound
The receiver's powerful built-in amplifier delivers the volume you're looking for, while the 8-band equalizer offers plenty of ways to tweak the sound to your liking. Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever perks up the flat sound of compressed music by restoring high-frequency information. For those looking to build a system, three pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to connect external amps, and this receiver offers an auto-equalization feature to tune your system (microphone required, not included).
Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.
Had this unit for nearly 3 years and not a single problem yet. Even pulled it out and redone the wires with a metra intergration which made it work better with my stock bose system.

The resolution of the display is 800 x 480 (RGB), for a total of 1,152,000 pixels. - Music: You can listen to every music file stored in the smartphone. You can search for your music files by Favorites, Playlists, Artists, Albums, or All Songs.
- Location (Drive): You can navigate via Google Maps. You are able to speak and type destinations. The app provides you with an on-screen map screen and audible directions.
- Phone (Call): The app retrieves all contact information stored in the smartphone. You can make and answer phone calls from the head unit's touchscreen, just as you would normally do on your smartphone. The head unit will even read aloud text messages and let you reply.
Note: For more information regarding MirrorLink, please visit www.mirrorlink.com.
Bluetooth Technology: The AVH-X2600BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth ver. 3.0 (powered by Parrot), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:
- Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
- Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT.
SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the AVH-X2600BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. Up to 3 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be registered to this head unit; only one device can be used at a time.
Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The AVH-X2600BT supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/HSP/OPP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The AVH-X2600BT allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the AVH-X2600BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
- Entering a Phone Number: You can make a call by entering the phone number using the head unit's touchscreen keypad (0-9, *, #, +, C).
- Speed (Preset) Dialing: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
- Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically (A-Z).
- Call Log: The 80 most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.
- Voice Control: If your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone is equipped with the voice control feature, you can use voice commands to make calls.
Note: Advanced phone operations that require attention, such as dialing numbers on the touchscreen monitor or adjusting Bluetooth settings, are prohibited while driving. The vehicle's parking brake must be engaged to access these functions.
Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Metadata Display): The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The head unit can stream music stored on your Bluetooth enabled device or music apps you have downloaded on your device. The AVH-X2600BT will be able to control basic playback features; Play, Pause, & Skip Tracks (app must also support). The head unit will also display your music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title. (app must also support). When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call.
Siri Eyes-Free Functionality: When paired and connected with an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth, the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT has the ability to access Siri through its touchscreen and external microphone for "Siri Eyes-Free" functionality. When activated, Siri voice prompts play through the vehicle's speakers and the user's commands and questions are received and transmitted to the receiver using the external microphone. Siri Eyes-Free provides access to many iPhone Siri functions such as music selection, making phone calls, and audible navigation (map will be displayed on iPhone); as well as listening to text messages, calendar information, and reminders. The head unit's touschreen monitor will only indicate hands-free calling and song/artist information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).
Note: Your iPhone with Siriu can be connected via Bluetooth and USB simultaneously. You can only access stored music using Siri when the head unit's source is iPod or Bluetooth Audio. All other Siri functions can be accessed from any source. The head unit's audio is muted while Siri provides audible voice prompts.
Compatible Discs: The unit has a front-loading disc-slot to make loading your disc easier, because there is no panel to slide or fold-down. The AVH-X2600BT supports playback of DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, CD-Audio, and CD-R/RW discs with music, video, and photo files.
USB Port: The unit's rear-panel USB (type-A) port and 58" USB extension cable allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) or USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) compliant device; such as your Android smartphone, portable digital audio player, or USB thumbdrive. The USB port enables playback & control of music, video, and photo files stored on your portable USB MSC device and music only on your USB MTP device through the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT. USB devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (1A) and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.
Note: The unit's rear-panel USB port supports Android OS 4.0+ (Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean) as a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device. It also supports Android OS 2.2+ (Froyo/Gingerbread) as a Mass Storage Class (MSC) device; as of 11/25/2013. Advanced Playback & Search Functions (for USB): Advance playback functions include; Music Browsing which lets you browse your USB memory device's music library by Artist, Album, Song, or Genre from the head unit in alphabetical order; and Link Play which allows you to play songs related to the currently playing song. Link Play lets the head unit create an album list of the currently playing artist, a song list of the currently playing album, or an album list of the currently playing genre.
Parental Lock: This unit features an 8-level Parental Lock system protected by a user-selected 4-digit password to prevent certain DVD's from being played back on the AVH-X2600BT.
Off Insert/Eject: A disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback. When you eject a disc, the unit will automatically power off (unless you switch sources before ejecting the disc).
Installation Angle: Optimum disc playback performance is obtained when the unit is installed at an angle of less than 30-degrees.
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID AM/FM tuner features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
- RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.
- BSM (Best Stations Memory): BSM lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.
- Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 level of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.
Pandora App: The free Pandora App (either from iTunes Apps or Google Play) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT using your USB-connected Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) or Bluetooth paired Android smartphone. Your Apple iPhone must be connected to the AVH-X2600BT via the appropriate Pioneer iPod connector cable (CD-IU51 / CD-IU52 / CD-IU201V / CD-IU201S) or the connector-cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Pioneer AVH-2600BT. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT will provide control over the Pandora music service & display Artist, Album, & Song information; as well as Album art.
- Station List w/ Shuffle: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z). You can also listen to songs played randomly from various stations within your Station List.
- New Stations: New stations can be created based on the current songs or artists playing.
- Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
- Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
- Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.
Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.
24-Bit/96kHz DAC: For superb quality audio playback from DVDs, CDs, and flash media, the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT is equipped with a 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog converter.
MOSFET50 Internal Amplifier: This receiver is equipped with a 50 watts x 4 (peak) MOSFET amplifier for low distortion, high power output. The amplifier is strong enough to power small subwoofers to moderate volume levels in compact cars and pickups. For higher volume levels from subwoofers, an optional amplifier may be connected to the preamp outputs.
- CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
- Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
- Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (or 50 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms + 70 watts x 1 channel at 2 ohms for subwoofer)
Note: The power specifications for the AVH-X2600BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.
2V/6CH Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT features three pair of 2.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The unit's front and rear preamp output can be faded (front/rear), while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT lets you adjust the subwoofer preamp output's phase (normal/reverse) and volume (+6 to -24).
Crossovers: The AVH-X2600BT employs high pass and low pass crossovers to tailor the head unit to your connected speakers.
- HPF: The head unit's 12dB/octave high pass filter only allows frequencies higher than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) to your front and rear speakers through the unit's speaker-level or line-level outputs.
- LPF: The subwoofer preamp output features an18dB/octave low pass filter so only frequencies lower than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) are output to your connected subwoofer.
EEQ (Easy EQ) w/ 8-Band Graphic EQ: There are seven stored equalizer curves which you can easily recall at any time. You can choose from - Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, Flat, Custom 1, or Custom 2. The Custom 1 and Custom 2 EQ modes allow you to manually adjust the level (+/- 12dB) of each band of the head unit's 8-band graphic equalizer (40Hz, 80Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz, and10kHz).
Auto EQ (Optional): The auto-equalizer automatically measures your car's interior acoustic characteristics, and then creates an auto-equalizer curve base on that information. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone (130CDMC20, sold separately) is required to use this function. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone plugs into your compatible Pioneer A/V receiver's rear-panel AUX 3.5mm input. The Auto-EQ microphone should be placed in the center of your vehicle's driver seat headrest facing forward for EQ measurement.
Audio Settings: The head unit provides further sound adjustments for your car audio system.
- Sonic Center Control: Sound that is suited for the listening position can easily be created with this function. You can adjust sound more toward the listening position left (7) to right (7).
- Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. When the Advanced Sound Retriever is on, the high frequency range is compensated to match the frequency response curve to the original sound. There are two available levels of the Advanced Sound Retriever effect.
- Loudness: The Loudness function compensates for deficiencies in the low- and high-frequency ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness to High, Mid, Low, or Off.
- Bass Boost: You can easily boost the subwoofer bass level by using the Bass Boost function. The Bass Boost feature allows you increase the subwoofer level from 0 to +6 (12dB).
- Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source (AM, Pandora, iPod, Apps) to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the unit's FM volume level, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4 dB to +4 dB.
MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.
Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App/Media App Control mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone/iPad. It is also not supported by USB MTP devices.
Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation.
Dual AV Inputs: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT has dual AV inputs to connect two external audio/video sources. The head unit has a rear-panel 3.5mm minijack AV input for connecting a portable audio/video device. There is also a rear-panel composite video/stereo RCA AV input for connecting a video component such as a mobile TV tuner or game console. The rear-panel 3.5mm minijack input also serves as the A/V input for your USB-connected iPod/iPhone (using the proprietary Pioneer cable).
Video Output: The AVH-X2600BT features a rear-panel composite video output that allows you to connect an external display to the unit. You can play back the same video source which is being played on the head unit. You can select the unit to output a 16:9, Letter-Box or Pan-Scan aspect ratio to match your external display's screen size.
Rear-View Camera: The AVH-X2600BT is equipped with a composite video rear-view camera input for the addition of an optional backup camera (130NDBC6, sold separately). The unit features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image. When the vehicle's transmission is put in reverse, the screen automatically switches to the rear view camera (violet/white wire of the harness must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching). Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.8 seconds. Pioneer recommends using a camera with a mirror image (reversed) output. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.
Navigation Ready: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT allows you to connect the Pioneer AVIC-U260 add-on navigation unit (130AVIC260, sold separately) through its RGB Input. This versatile hideaway unit allows you to switch to navigation mode with the touch of a button. Get to your destination by inputting an address or search through the POI library while enjoying whatever source is currently playing.
Note: If you are already using the head unit's RGB input to access AppRadio Mode from your iPhone or MirrorLink from your compatible smartphone, then you cannot connect this add-on navigation module (or vise-versa).
Wireless Remote Control: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT includes an IR remote control (CXE5116) for wireless operation of the multimedia head unit and your connected devices.
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). I don't really know, but I'd guess it's to eliminate any little glitches that may have gotten into it prior to arriving into your hands. It's much preferable to do a reset before programming all your radio stations, EQ settings, etc. than after. [ Jeffrey Apr 05, 2015 ]
No. Apps are only supported on the S3 the last i checked. It is an issue with the manufacture of the software for the app based radio. [ Erik Apr 01, 2015 ]

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Pioneer stereo puts out 14 watts of RMS (continuous) power per speaker at four ohms (most speakers are four ohms), and it puts out up to 50 watts of peak power, which isn't continuous, only for bursts. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Mar 25, 2015 ] Staff

Yes, your Android phone just needs to have voice activation turned on. [ SCOTT Mar 15, 2015 ]
Android phones do connect via blue tooth. So you can answer via the head unit. I suppose if your phone supports voice dialing it will utilize the head unit for speaker and microphone, but I don't use voice dialing. I don't believe you can text on the head unit. [ Shawn Mar 13, 2015 ]
I use this with my Nexus 5. It works flawlessly. Probably the best bang for your buck. Voice recognition functionality, yes. As for texting, if you mean texting on the actual units screen, I don't know. [ ERIC J Mar 13, 2015 ]

No. The only rca pluc on the back is one rca video for back up camera (So in a way i guess you could use the rearview to display the iphone and not use a backup camera). [ Adrian Feb 17, 2015 ]
Frank, Yes, that unit does support Mirror link on both the iPhone 6 and 6plus as well as Samsung Galaxy s4 and my S5. I'm not sure about LG as i do not use that brand. I've also used my Samsung Galaxy tab4 and it supported mirror link connection. However, and it's also upto you, but primary I always just use Bluetooth streaming. I've also installed a thumb drive with transferred music directly to the thumb drive and play music from it. Sound quality is just as good as a simple CD. [ SCOTT Feb 06, 2015 ]
Mirror link is for android phones only. So not iPhone 6 [ Shawn Feb 06, 2015 ]

It does have fm radio, but it doesn't have hd radio. [ Ray M. Jan 28, 2015 ]
Thats a negative, speed sensor self adjusted volume was not available after installing. This unit was jot installed in a GM cehicle. [ JOE Jan 26, 2015 ]
1 answer I checked and it showed this unit will fit my 2010 VW GTI. However do you have any idea if it will still be able to be functional with my stearing wheel buttons? Is this also a hard self install and would I be better off getting installed? My unit (RSN510)that came with the car is now pushing up the daisies. [ Amy Jan 09, 2015 ]
The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Jan 10, 2015 ] Staff
Sorry I don't think I can help. I had my unit installed and my unit automatically dims when my headlights come on. [ Joel Dec 29, 2014 ]
The dim is triggered by a wire coming out the back of the radio(should be orange- you can check your radio owners manual for this information) this wire should be hooked up to the wire coming from your vehicle that signaled your previous radio to dim. You may have to do some testing with a multimeter to find the wire that has a voltage change when your lights are switched on/ off. If you don't have experience in wiring, I suggest you purchase the plug and play interface for your model car. I bought it for my Ford Mustang because of the amps for the shaker system and it shortened my install time from hours to only 20 minutes. Hope this helps. [ Jake Dec 28, 2014 ]
It's actually not in your settings it is apart of your wiring harness when you first had your radio installed. If you didn't wire it to dim it will never dim. [ Matthew Dec 28, 2014 ]
Have had it for about a year and still don't know? [ aaron James Dec 28, 2014 ]
1 answer I had this unit installed in my vehicle in May. Everything worked great! A few months ago while using the Bluetooth to listen to music, a rapid beeping sound came out of the speakers. I closed out of the Bluetooth on the unit and on my phone, turned both back on, then it was fine. Now every time I try to use the Bluetooth for audio and phone it makes that beeping sound (nothing plays). My Bluetooth works fine when paired to other devices so it's not my phone, which is an android. What could be causing this? [ Kristin Dec 24, 2014 ]

Hi Laura G, You can hook a Blueray player to this unit if the player has a standard video/audio output. Car audio equipment has not not moved to HDMI cables so your video will not be 1080P & the audio will be in standard stereo & not 5.1 surround sound but it will play through all the speakers. [ Cory Dec 22, 2014 ]
Yes sir [ Demetrius Dec 21, 2014 ]
It does not have hd radio built in, the next model up will though, avhx3600bhs I believe. [ Ray M. Dec 21, 2014 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Krissy Dec 21, 2014 ] Staff
2 answers if I insert a usb flash drive into the usb cable, will it play my mp3 files in a folder format like how it would on my computer? I don't want a stereo to play them in playlist, genre, album, artist or alphabetical order like an iPhone or ipod. will this play the flash drive exactly like how I have it on my computer? folders and sub folders, the order I put them in? thanks! [ matt Dec 16, 2014 ]
Yes, the folders you have on your flash drive will apear in a menu you can access your music. [ Cory Dec 22, 2014 ]
I would guess it would I haven't tried it [ GE Dec 17, 2014 ]
I had an iPhone 4s and all functions that I used with my 4 worked with my iPhone6 ! Hope this is helpful for you! [ RODOLPH Dec 11, 2014 ]
Jesse, yes I installed this same unit in my daughters car. She has the iPhone 6 and it works great via Bluetooth. [ SCOTT Dec 09, 2014 ]
Yes. [ Matthew Dec 09, 2014 ]
I don't know, haven't tried it. I have a iPhone 5s and it works great. Sorry couldn't help you. [ LARRY J Dec 09, 2014 ]
I believe it will but not positive [ Matthew Dec 09, 2014 ]
It should be with Bluetooth audio and stuff like that but it's most features are iphone compatible like the apps and stuff [ JORGE Dec 05, 2014 ]
Not sure what an LG G3 is? Sorry. [ Dave Dec 04, 2014 ]
I'm not sure. I have a Samsung S4. I simply just clicked on my bluetooth and I synced it and it automatically did the rest. Hope this helps. Most android phones are compatible with it. It is a great stereo for sure. Tammy [ TAMMY M Dec 04, 2014 ]
I have a galaxy note 4 and it works fine. I believe it will work well with most android phones. [ JEFFREY Dec 04, 2014 ]
1 answer How does this unit work with music stored on a hard drive? I used a Pioneer in the past for this and it worked like Windows Explorer. That essentially restricted shuffle, album selection, and artist selection you get with an ipod. Just looking at options now that the big ipod classic is discontinued. [ Matt G Nov 13, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The USB thumb drive or hard drives will show your folders/files in the order that they were uploaded. You will not be able to do any shuffling or sorting by album/artist. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Ben asks: does this device work for the nissan altima 2008 [ Benny Jan 30, 2015 ]
IM not sure. I never had that problem. sorry I wasn't any help. Good luck [ LARRY J Oct 06, 2014 ]
I had this same issue in my daughter's car. I believe you have to turn Bluetooth of on the unit and then go back into settings and the unit will have the option available to clear memory. The unit only allows upto 3 Bluetooth devices. It's sort of a pain, but that's how I was able to reset the memory. Hope this helps. [ SCOTT Oct 05, 2014 ]
Have you tried turning off the Bluetooth visibility on a few of the other devices it might be picking up. I recall my radio showing the device number off the item it would notice then I would have to turn the visibility on from the device for it to sync up. [ SCOTT Oct 05, 2014 ]
Sorry. I don't use the mirror link feature. This deck is awesome though! Love it! [ Dave Sep 18, 2014 ]
It does for my iPhone when it's on app radio mode. I don't see why not [ Shawn Sep 18, 2014 ]
This is great for galixy and i phones but you need the mirror box to do the nav not cheap [ SHAWN Sep 08, 2014 ]
Don't know. Haven't tried. [ SAM Sep 07, 2014 ]
The only compatible nav app is Waze and it does not work fluidly with the iOS interface. [ Jason Sep 06, 2014 ]
The nav screen does NOT come up when using the 5s. This is my exact setup. It will put the voice directions through the car speakers which is safer than looking at a screen anyways. I love this unit and would recommend it for sure. Mine is in a Chevy Silverado and I'm using the iPhone 5s. [ JUSTIN Sep 06, 2014 ]

As far as I know it should never tried but it said it did play flash drives [ NICHOLAS Aug 19, 2014 ]
Great! I've been looking awhile for a unit like. Keep coming back to this one. My last was a Kenwood ddx418 but i broke the DVD mechanism with a telephone pole. Thanks again! [ Elijah Aug 18, 2014 ]
Yeah it does, you just gotta make sure it's the right aspect ratio or it will give you a error. [ Shawn Aug 18, 2014 ]
No idea about iphone. I have my adroid paired with it and see all the choices when I run Pandora or make phone calls. I also installed a rear camera and it comes on the screen when I am in reverse. My guess is it would work fine. [ Stupor Aug 06, 2014 ]
Hey Brett, I bought this HU for my girlfriend in December. It does not allow you to display any maps except for "Waze" GPS and even that only works half of the time. All in all a great head unit but now that there are more HU's out with greater iPhone 5 functionality, I would go with another option. [ Jason Aug 06, 2014 ]
Great question in which it made me curious, so I tried it. Unfortunately, this unit does not allow more than one bluetooth connection. I attempted this using two Samsung GALAXY S4 phone's. However, one of the cool things is I have one phone connected via bluetooth and the other USB and play music or Pandora over USB and the other for just phone calls. It's the best this unit can do where as my Kenwood DNX6180 doesn't allow bluetooth streaming in my other vehicle. Perhaps looking at newer Kenwoods and also newer Pioneer AVIC NEX models. [ SCOTT May 29, 2014 ]
This unit can only handle one connected device at a time. Each time we attempt to have more than one device even linked to the unit, it seems to get confused and acts buggy. 1 linked and paired device at a time seems to offer the best performance. [ Jason May 29, 2014 ]
Tough question! I would have to guess one at a time, it shuts down music when the phone rings, so I think it's one task at a time. It would probably see and respond to more than one phone, but not answer 2 at a time. [ Stupor May 29, 2014 ]

1 answer I bought a rear view cam and was wondering how to hook it up to have it both come on anytime, and of corse when I back up. It has a yellow RCA plug, and a power lead with red/black wires. Not sure, but if I connect the power leads to the backup light, it will only come on when I back up right? I'm not sure if it will work with the anytime feature though. Thanks! [ Dave Mar 27, 2014 ]

I know of 2 ways to wire the backup camera. Either you can wire it for reverse only or ignition. Reverse only, you connect the positive camera power wire to the backup light circuit. That only supplies power to the camera when the reverse lights are on. I wired mine to the red ignition wire so I always have access to see the camera view whether in reverse or driving. Gives me extra eyes to see behind. Especially at traffic lights. [ Eric Apr 14, 2016 ]
I found that it does according to the owner's manual. [ JebSim Mar 10, 2014 ]
Steve, When connected and using the Bluetooth Audio mode (not using the special Ipod/Iphone connector that is sold separately) you control your music choice by using your iphone - not the head unit. So in the case of using Pandora or playing music directly you would control song and/or Pandora station choice through your iphone only. The only option you have is to forward while using Pandora - you cannot change stations, create stations, or do any other functions from the head unit. If you want to use the head unit to control Pandora you will need to buy the special connector they sell separately which then will also mean your phone will be tethered. Hope that helps! [ James Mar 10, 2014 ]
Depending on which mode you are currently on at that time you can use the head unit or the iphone itself. Be warned though that in order to get the full functionality of the head units capabillities the iphone must be plugged in. You also have to download apps to make it work correctly which all are very clunky to use. For example, when running waze you have no control over the music except for volume control, u have to exit out of the waze app, change a song, then start it back up. I am not impressed by this receiver so far in regards to music playback and app compatibility. Sound is pretty good though. Just want to make sure your aware of how it works more than I was. I will most likely be returning the product but that is strictly based on app compatibility. If music is your only concern the bluetooth playback is pretty nice except that the head unit does not usually remember what apps you were using to play music last. [ NICK Mar 09, 2014 ]
When I use bluetooth on my iPhone 4S, you must use the phone to select the music/podcast you want. Once selected, the head unit is able to pause/play and skip tracks, I believe you can also scrub to where you want, but I'm not sure, I've been using the proprietary apple cable for two weeks now, so I don't quite remember that aspect. [ Ray M. Mar 09, 2014 ]
As long as the camera has a standard output it should work with this receiver. You can see the compatible back-up cameras that we carry by clicking on the accessories tab, then on the "Rear View and Auxilliary Cameras" heading: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X2600BT/Pioneer-AVH-X2600BT.html?tp=20217#ag277650 [ Jeff Feb 27, 2014 ] Staff
Sorry...haven't tried. I can tell you that pandora is a little sketchy. Doesn't seem to connect all the time. [ HENRIK Feb 21, 2014 ]
Depends which app you use. I just use whatever app and view it from the phone on the screen while using Bluetooth music. [ clifford Feb 17, 2014 ]
On my iPhone 4S I can listen to whatever I want (I listen to podcasts, slacker/pandora/spotify or music I have loaded on the iPhone via Bluetooth and it works really great. While playing any of these I can start up my navigation app and it will fade in with the turn-by-turn voice directions, then fade back to music. I use Scout ( used to be telenav) and waze. I do have 1 problem with waze where the turn by turn directions only play through the phone speakers, but this is a waze issue since I upgraded the device to ios7. I know this because it happens in another vehicle with a different iPhone integration set up. Note that it does not work like this with the sterero's radio setting, so you cannot listen to the radio and the nav app and have them both work together through the speakers. [ Robert Feb 17, 2014 ]
I do not use the navigation apps. I use the mirror mode and map from phone for navigation so this way works well for me. [ COLE Feb 16, 2014 ]
I am sorry. I can't answer this as I have never tried. This is not my radio -i gave it as a gift so i cant test it now either. [ NICHOLAS Feb 16, 2014 ]
