Smartphone-ready with MirrorLink™

Tap into the potential of your smartphone safely when you get behind the wheel. The MirrorLink system provides unparalled in-dash control over an ever-growing list of Android™ smartphones, including the popular Samsung Galaxy S III and Nokia Symbian models. With MirrorLink, you'll enjoy touchscreen control from your Pioneer over music, phone contacts, and select apps — connect your compatible phone via USB and enjoy a seamless experience. Pioneer's CD-ML100 MirrorLink adapter is required (not included).

Slick touchscreen controls

Touch Slide technology adds a new dimension to fingertip control over many functions. Want a new EQ curve? Just draw it on the screen with your finger and you've got it. And you can browse video files through thumbnail images — just touch them to check out a sneak preview.

You can also change the receiver's appearance to match your dash by choosing from five display colors and 112 key panel illumination options. And when you're ready to get the party started, MIXTRAX will liven up your time on the road. This feature creates a DJ-like experience with content from your iPod®, iPhone, or Android, adding special effects between songs and variable-color lighting that pulses with the beat of your music.

Sparkling video

The receiver's 6.1" LCD screen plays DVDs and other video content in bright, clear detail when you're parked. You can keep your passengers entertained by sending video from the receiver to a rear-seat screen — that sure makes those long road trips go faster. You'll be able to view video content from your iPod or IPhone with the addition of optional cables (check the "Details" tab for full information). And you can play it safe when you throw it into reverse by plugging in a rear-view camera.

Ready to roll with your mobile devices

When you connect your iPod to the rear USB input cable, you'll be able to use the receiver's controls to access your playlists. Handy tools like Alphabet Search and Link Search to make it easier to find the song you want fast. Android users aren't left out in the cold either. Many Android phones support the Pioneer Connect app, which lets the receiver access music files when your Android is plugged in via USB.

If you're a fan of streaming Internet radio, connect your iPhone to the receiver with Pioneer's CD-IU201S cable and take charge of your Pandora® account from the touchscreen, complete with thumbs-up and thumbs-down controls. And don't forget, you can also enjoy all your CDs, DVD and CD discs full of MP3 or WMA music, or USB storage devices loaded with files.

Crisp and powerful sound

The receiver's powerful built-in amplifier delivers the volume you're looking for, while the 8-band equalizer offers plenty of ways to tweak the sound to your liking. Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever perks up the flat sound of compressed music by restoring high-frequency information. For those looking to build a system, three pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to connect external amps, and this receiver offers an auto-equalization feature to tune your system (microphone required, not included).

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

They shipped it out immediately after I ordered it and arrived earlier then expected! Installation instructions were straight forward and product was simple to install. Definitely ordering from Crutchfield again in the future!

    Superior to OEM

MalcolmD from Rochester, New York on 4/15/2015

    2007 Toyota Camry
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Radio works as advertised. I did a lot research and the AVH-2600BT is the best value. Far superior to the Toyota stock radio in both sound quality and reception (after 1 day of testing :). Bluetooth operation through iPhone 6 is great, voice call through Siri was such a great hands-free benefit, microphone seems to work well, and clarity through the speakers is good.

Pros: Looks fantastic, like that you can change background and button colors. Has a lot of features for future expansion. Did I say it sounds great?

Cons: Wish there was a way to toggle through all presets through FM1-FM3 instead of having to touch the screen.

    Good product for the price.

Pros: Nice screen, good sound, flawless I-device integration, via wire and Bluetooth.

Cons: Wasn't thrilled that I had to take apart the center console and connect a wire to the positive side of the parking brake switch to make the video work. No directions came for this part, the connection and disassembly are up to you. (09 Nissan Frontier)

    2014 Dodge Grand Caravan
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great purchase, I analyzed many online markets and with the added value of the install components the price was by far less than others. The unit itself was just as described and all functions work great. Video is exceptionally clear on DVDs as well as back up camera. Two things that kept me from giving 5 stars is the annoying beeping sound when using a button as well as the connection of the bluetooth. I wish it wouldnt give you a "failed to connect" error that requires confirmation when I have my bluetooth on my phone turned off.

Pros: Very sleek and many features for the $$

Cons: Annoying beep, however I remember years ago when I was in High School I loved the head units that beeped when buttons were pressed. Just personal preference, wish it could be turned off and on.

    Great Head Unit

    2007 Pontiac G6
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this head unit as a replacement for the second car and I have to say that I love everything about it. The ease of use and iPod intergration are great and the sound quality is amazing for a head unit in this price range. I have a newer Alpine digital media receiver in my primary vehicle and am now disappointed that I paid so much for it and didn't give this Pioneer a chance first.

Pros: Ease of use. Sound quality Features Price

    Cons: None

Overall amazing product for the price. Accessories kit provided by Crutchfield was of good quality and perfect fit for my SUV 2005 Honda Pilot. Significant upgrade over factory unit. Seamless integration with phone, audio quality amazing with number of options to adjust sound to factory speakers. Now need to upgrade speakers to go with the unit.

    Cons: None noted so far.

    Works Great

    Jack from Nevada on 4/14/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Radio does everything I wanted. It doesn't have the new "car play" for Apple, but still connects with iPhones with some capability. I'm good with just having Siri available to make calls for me, take texts, and give directions, though some Apps do not work. It's easy to switch between inputs, but using the iPod isn't as easy as I hoped. Finding your playlist, then getting it to quickly shuffle your songs takes a bit of time. Then if you switch to radio and back to iPod, you have to start all over. Maybe I'll get more efficient with time.

Pros: Easy to connect with Siri Easy to switch between inputs

Cons: ipod a little cumbersome to use

    2012 Ram 1500
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product especially for the price. As always Pioneer puts out a good product. Install was flawless given the full kit provided by Crutchfield. These guys know they're stuff and are always available. Installed in a 2012 Ram 1500 and with the help of an online forum was able to make the necessary dash modifications to both install the head unit and Bluetooth mic. The inclusion of the mic as well as a USB cable is an added bonus. Unit has a nice crisp display and the EQ settings improve any stock system. Solid build and the buttons don't feel cheap. My only gripes are that it takes a few seconds for the Bluetooth to connect and be ready to play. Not a huge deal at all, but something to note. Also, you can't search alphabetical in the address book. In other words, it pulls up your entire address book, but with today's phones where several apps (i.e FB) sync contacts, scrolling through thousands of contacts is impossible. I love the ability to change the background; I put a RAM logo and the thing looks stock.

Pros: Easy install, mic and USB cable included, customization, sound quality

    Cons: None significant

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I searched for days trying to decide which receiver to go with, I didn't want to spend a lot of money but also didn't want to cheap out. I finally ended up with this one and I am very pleased with my purchase. This unit does everything I wanted it to do and more. Sound quality is great, screen quality is great, touch screen responsiveness is great, Bluetooth works great, it works perfectly with my iphone 6, and it displays artist, song, artwork, and other info almost seamlessly. The only con that I have come across so far is that there aren't many file types that can be used for video playback, but this isn't much of a con for me because I didn't buy this unit to watch video.

Pros: album artwork display is awesome iphone compatibility (Bluetooth, charging, and music playback) touch screen is responsive and not laggy audio quality is great

Cons: limited file types to use for video playback using usb

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great piece of equipment, great deal for the money, well done Pioneer, one thing I am disappointed with is the Bluetooth pairing, where on my OEM bluetooh I was able to pair with 5 devices, however with this unit maximum is 3, one might say why do I need to pair with 5 devices. well it so happens that I have 2 mobiles, and my wife has 2, and the 5th is for people who use my car on and off.

Pros: Sound Quality is Good, looks great

Cons: Bluetooth memory (pairing only up to 3 devices).

    2004 Toyota Sienna
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit replaced an OEM CD / cassette (yes...I said cassette!) JBL Infinity head unit that had eaten a CD I put in my 2004 Toyota Sienna van. Overall integration into the van's existing amp and steering wheel controls was excellent using the highly recommend, fairly easy to install Crux unit. Cheapskates (like myself) beware. Just order all installation gear from Crutchfield, to make install day go smoothly. Wish I could say Crutchfield rep to rep advice was consistent. But it wasn't. First rep recommended integration gear that wasn't as capable as what I ultimately purchased as recommended by a 3rd rep. 2nd rep said the vehicle's existing amp wouldn't work with the Pioneer. Not true - according to an emailed follow-up by Crutchfield. Don't be scared away by the apparent Iphone incompatibility. I found for the Average Joe? Most features like bluetooth calling and audio to the Pioneer? Work fine. This unit has a cajilliion options and features hidden away in menus and sub menus. Great if you want to play around with them. Out of the way if you don't want to mess with them. Not a big fan of touch screens because I don't think there as easy to use as hard buttons and can distract the driver - but you certainly can cram more features in with soft buttons - so it's a reasonable tradeoff - as long as you pay attention to the road. Overall? Very pleased with my Crutchfield experience and head unit installation education!

Pros: Huge bang for the buck - especially on sale. Tons of options, features, and expansion possibilities (in the right vehicle). Excellent included, direction-adjusting bluetooth mic for your phone. Callers say I sound crisp and clear. Plenty of included wire to run it to the overhead visor for clip mounting.

Cons: Radio reception doesn't appear as good as the old head unit with diversity tuning. As others have complained here? Very difficult to view the screen in bright light. Volume max doesn't appear as loud as previous unit either. Old head unit picked up more station and song information than this one does. Why? Top menu seems out of place and stodgy in an otherwise cool looking menu system. Wish it had wireless capabilities and firmware updates using that as a conduit.

The wife loves the Bluetooth. We traded our 2002 Chevrolet Tracker in on a GMC SIERRA and lost our Pioneer Bluetooth reciever. This was a big upgrade. DVD, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and much more.

Pros: Doug extension 3227. Very helpful

Cons: No cons other than about a 1/4 " longer than the oem. Had to trim some plastic where the oem support peg would go.

    2003 GMC Yukon XL
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far, I love this head-unit. I just installed it recently so time will tell the true tale, but at this moment I'm very pleased with this purchase. I went back and forth on this for a while thinking that it wouldn't be that good for the low price...I'm used to touchscreen double dins being much more expensive than they are nowadays. In short, if you're on the fence, just buy it. The interface is intuitive to navigate. Much better than the Kenwood Excellons and Alpines I've had. The sound controls are good, not great, but good; I like that the 8 band eq has two custom settings. Sonic center control is a nice feature as well letting you adjust the sound stage to your listening position. I may yet pick up the add on mic to take advantage of the auto eq function which is their version of time alignment. I plan to take advantage of the 3 sets of preouts and like the available high and low pas filtering options and sub controls. The radio gets decent reception, the cd player sounds great, the bluetooth works well for phone calls and I've had no complaints from people on the other end, the bluetooth audio sounds great too. I can't get full Pandora control via bluetooth but can through usb to my android phone; maybe I'm missing a setting for this but if connected to bluetooth only, Pandora plays well but has to be controlled from my phone. I haven't tried my iPod yet. I also haven't hooked up the rear view camera or the rear monitor yet. DVDs play well and look decent.

Pros: Intuitive interface that's easy to use and pleasing to look at. Decent sound control options. Way better sound than stock even with no amplifiers at this time. Good bluetooth phone control. Plenty of connection options and expand-ability. All around great entertainment control center for your vehicle. Price. Crutchfield customer service and tech support top notch as always!

Cons: Pandora control over bluetooth from my android phone is full control, have to be plugged into usb for full control. Screen tends to get a little washed out on sunny days, but that's kind of an issue with every unit I've had in recent years. Delay on startup could be shorter.

    Good radio

    2006 Toyota Tundra
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The radio fits very well in my 2006 Toyota Tundra. My only complaint is that the instructions to link my iPhone to the bluetooth module in the radio provided in the instruction booklet as well as on the Pioneer website are completely wrong. They both tell you to initiate the sync from the radio, but the buttons to do that are greyed out. You have to initiate the sync from your phone. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the sound of the stereo and the functionality of the unit.

Pros: Easy install as long as you have the factory radio brackets.

Cons: Instructions for bluetooth setup from Pioneer are incorrect.

    2014 Nissan Rogue Select
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A very nice deck for the price, it works very well. There are only 2 things that bother me: First it needs more Android support. It has tons of iPhone support but very basic Android features. Secondly, it requires connected USB devices to be FAT32... something that took me a bit to figure out as I format everything NTFS. But as is, its a really nice DIN head unit. Hands free works well and was easy to set up, the added on backup camera works flawlessly with it as well. Wish it had a front USB port but its fine as is. I ran my extension cable into the glove compartment. Happy with it, and would buy it again.

Pros: Easy to install, easy to setup. Bluetooth hands free phone is super easy to set up and works well. Added on backup camera works flawlessly.

Cons: Very little Android support / features compared to iPhone. USB devices need to be FAT32 or it will give a "incompatable device" error Fingerprint Smudges on screen will give you OCD Read times on USB devices can take a while

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit was relatively easy to install especially with the Crutchfield provided parts and guidelines. The Pioneer provided Owner's Manual is printed in a tiny font that can be difficult to read particularly when you are almost standing on your head under the dash. Also the Manual includes this unit and 4 other models of the Pioneer receiver. The problem with the receiver is the display which washes out in bright sunlight.

Pros: Flexibility, sound quality and appearance.

Cons: Display fades in bright sunlight.

Blue tooth streaming and calls are seamless and crystal clear.touch screen is on par with higher end units. overall very happy. i have a galaxy s5 andmy wife has an iphone6. we're both able to connect without any issues. tho, we haven't delved into the higher end features i know it offers with connectivity between the operating systems, but from a basic stand point, it's flawless..

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Pioneer head unit gives my Ford Explorer a whole new attitude. I paired this HU with the Clarion back-up camera and couldn't be happier! It pairs perfectly with my iPhone and audio streams brilliantly between the two. Calls are clear and the bluetooth works very well as other callers can hear me just fine. The AUX inputs make for adding anything else on if i needed to, future proof. My SUV came stock with the MACH audio system and this takes the sound system to a whole new level. It really sounds fantastic and i've got so much more control over the factory speakers and subwoofer. It really puts my vehicle into present times. Crutchfield also has fantastic customer service. Glad I purchased my stuff here.

Pros: Bluetooth audio streaming, external mic, aux hookups, and great sound.

Cons: Self - installation can take awhile if you've got a lot of things to hook up as I did (Steering wheel remote, 12v to 5v pass, backup camera, amp etc) But its all very well worth it.

Ive had pioneer receivers almost exclusively since i can remember. This was for my wife's car because i had another older pioneer MP3 player but no dvd. Because of the wire harness included for free from Crutchfield instalation was easy and fone in under an hour. The unit is easy to use, Bluetooth connectivity is easy, fast and clear. (Samsung Galaxy S4 & S5)

Pros: Quality, Price, Options, Bluetooth music streaming, super easy installation.

Cons: The mirror link is only for iphone. I was a bit disappointed because i thiught i could just mirror my droid in the unit but that wasn't the case. However with the bluetooth music streaming i dont miss out much. Besides i rarely use a navigation device and when i have to i have a 6inch tom tom that does the job. Also the screen, altho is an LCD display is not very good when playing videos. Up close the image is a bit grainy. Looks better from the back seat.

A great set of features : bluetooth streaming, backup camera input, USB (rear input), remote. I purchased this mainly to incorporate bluetooth hands free and streaming. Getting the rear input for a backup camera (yet to install) was a bonus. Installation was relatively easy, and crutch field tech support was solid when I called in for verification of wiring. wiring harnesses were spot on, fascia for double din fit in well enough. Still fiddling with the sound controls (EQ) but that'll come with time.

Pros: great feature set. bluetooth mic is excellent, just like other reviewers have noted. dvd playback is good. USB stick with music/folders works great. remote control works great as well.

    2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Wife wanted a back up camera for the Avalanche. So, we needed a display. I started doing research on an acceptable replacement for the stock POS that was in there currently. This matched size(with modifications), options, price, and had DVD. Whilst contemplating the final decision, The Wife blew the right front speaker. After further research and contemplating, there was a price break added and we purchased the wish list minus the head rest monitors. The sound on this HU is phenomenal! The install wasn't too rough. The modified fit for the Avi was removing a support behind the stock unit that cost me an $8 hacksaw, 45 minutes and two beers. Not bad really! Hooked up the complementary Crutchfield equipment and it was plug and play! Literally play! This thing has got features galore! Sadly, it doesn't have HD or installed Sirius. The day before we received the equipment, I got an email ad from Crutchfield about the Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS that was only $30 more than this one. It has HD and a built in sat radio?!? Well crap. It's literally the same HU but has these options. This is an awesome sounding HU, ridiculously easy to install with the instructions, and has a ton of gadgets to play with on it. The only issue we have had so far is, The Wife is reporting that she occasionally doesn't get the auto pair with the bluetooth on her iPhone. Not sure what that is about. So, for $30 bucks more, get the AVH-X3600BHS. It's a better investment even if you don't use.

Pros: Great sound. Multiple options. Easy to install.

Cons: No HD radio or built in Sirius. I knew this, but for some reason, didn't see the other option. Maybe not a Con but poor oversight on my part. Do better research than I did.

This is a nice radio, especially for the price. I gave 4/5 stars because of its limited compatibility with Android devices. I can stream via Pandora, web, and MP3s already installed on my device. The only thing it seems I can't do is establish a USB connection to my phone. The DVD video quality is not too shabby. The customization ability for the interface is pretty nice - You can change the theme (background) to a number of presets or use your device photos (if I had an adapter for my Android device, but iPhone users should be able to do this), and you can also change the illumination to match the color of the meters on your dash. Overall, I am happy with the product. It is much better than my old factory HU.

Pros: Low Price ~ Sounds great ~ User Friendly ~ Interface Customization ~ Ability to link Pandora and stream MP3s flawlessly

Cons: Limited compatibility with Android. (Samsung Galaxy S5)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been living with this unit for about a month now, I wish there was really some way to try a head unit first, but I don't regret my purchase. It's not perfect, so I give it a 4+. iPhone 5s user here, I chose not to spend 600 plus on an app radio or NEX, when my phone will be right next to me and I can possibly mount an iPad over the HU to use that. This has Siri eyes free which is OK (more later). Overall, despite the shortcomings, I like it!

Pros: Pros: Crutchfield is great. Great site, great customer service, great support. I bought the HU for a 2012 Mazda 3. It comes with free install gear, I bought some connectors, I bought a ASWC elsewhere (it was cheaper A to Z). Install was easy (even with the ASWC); do a little planning and it all makes sense - don't know how? Ask them, or hit youtube. Sound quality is better than factory; I'm not an audiophile, I just wanted a better head unit. It's easy to use, and is intuitive. The color options

Cons: Cons: I lost some steering wheel controls for Bluetooth. I wish I could have keep the BT buttons. Some menu items are 'swipe for next page' and some are 'press a button to move to next page'; took a few minutes to figure it out. I am not planning on watching video while I drive so I didn't do the parking brake switch. Guess what? To change the background to my own pic (in .jpg) - that is considered as viewing content, and it won't let me. So now I might have to go back, remove the unit and eithe

I installed with the PAC RP4-CH11. The 8 band equalizer fine tunes the sound perfectly. The MIXTRAX is pretty cool also. I read complaints about the brightness and dim function, both are fine with my vehicle (2014 Dodge Challenger) This Unit is Awesome for the price! Also when playing Pandora via bluetooth synced with my iphone, I can control the advance song function (via steering wheel controls)

All I was looking for was a touchscreen double din setup that would allow me to stream audio from music and calls via Bluetooth from my iPhone 6...this receiver absolutely delivers. I was concerned that the iPhone 6 was not listed as being compatible, but I have not experienced any issues. Bluetooth setup was very easy and the phone pairs automatically every time you jump in the car. Music streaming quality is exceptional and phone calls work great too. My ONLY issue is the others have commented, if you drive around during the day with at least your parking lights on, the display will dim significantly. I live in Florida (the Sunshine State), and I can't see the display at all during the day. BUT, I did discover that I can change the settings so that the display brightness does not dim when I turn the lights on--and, thankfully, the settings are remembered even after you turn the car off and back on again--the display still enters "night mode" when I hit the lights, but the brightness stays up all the way so that I can see the display. No other complaints. When you plug your phone in to the USB, you can take advantage of Pandora controls which includes the album cover art...same goes for iTunes songs/radio. Great buy!

Pros: Price, iPhone 6 compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity

    Cons: Display brightness during daytime

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to go in my 2014 Honda Ridgeline and I love it! It does all things well that you would expect or hope it would. One of the things I've found to be somewhat problematic with other head units is sometimes the way Bluetooth hijacks a call can be combersome so I was at least concerned but it works flawlessly. Great sound quality, extremely easy to use, and has cool features. I have this installed with the factory speakers, an Alpine 90x4/500/1 amp, factory fit enclosure, and 10in kicker comp 10's. I'm very pleased at the sound from the factory speakers coupled with this unit and the amp. Especially considering I was willing to pay a couple hundred for door speakers and didn't need to.

    Pros: Everything listed above

Cons: If there's one complaint I could have, it would be that when I have the volume up and listening via Bluetooth to music on my phone, the audible alert that I've received a text, email, etc isn't loud enough so I have to keep my phone facing me so I will see it light up. But it does mute the music when I have an incoming call so that's not much of a complaint but that's all I have.

I gave this a 4 star as it could use some improvements. This unit has great sound compared to my factory HU. I like the fact that I can see artist and song info. I must give props to Crutchfield as this is the first ever radio I've installed ever and they were great at getting me all the documentation and instructions with my order to assist me in installing this HU. I thought this unit was XM compatible but sadly it is not, I should have read closer when ordering but its no big deal, this unit has a Pandora mode which will interact with your smart phone. Just plug your phone into the HU via its included USB cord, open Pandora on your phone and you've got streaming music in your car, which is better than XM, no announcements. The only draw with this is: You need to be in an area with good cell/data coverage for Pandora to work well, although the same could be said of XM. I also love the Siri-eyes which works great with my iphone 5 for hands free calling and music playing. I can simply ask Siri to play a song or playlist, read incoming text messages and respond to messages hands free. Over-all I am pleased with this unit. The only thing Im not crazy about is in order for me to see app data on the HU from my iphone is to purchase an apple VGA to lightning adapter + a pioneer VGA/USB cable set. The apple adapter on its own is quite bulky and I really don't want this dangling around in my console. Pioneer should come up with a better way of doing this..

Pros: Great sound, nice interface, Siri Eyes works well with iphones. Has Pandora mode which allows to you control streaming music from your smart phone direct on the HU's interface.

Cons: Needing to purchase extra clunky hardware to make the App mode work with my iphone- Pioneer should make its own VGA to lightning cable that can be easily concealed in the console rather than the customer needing to purchase multiple pieces of hardware in order for other features of this HU work.

Unit plays great, sounds great and has a great UI. The unit falls quite short in the ease of using the buttons on the unit and remote. The buttons do not have any ridges and are require you to look at the unit, find the button and then press it just right. The remote helps, but the next/prev track are in the wrong place (IMO) since they are opposite of the volume buttons, thus making it clumsy to change tracks. On the plus side, this unit looks great, has great configurability and is a steal for the price. If the buttons are an issue, this is for you.

Pros: * Clean, simple and easy to use UI * Clear sound * Touch screen is appropriately sensitive

Cons: * Physical buttons require eye contact to locate - lack raised bumps and edges * Remote has odd button placements for frequently used buttons (next/prev track opposite side of remote from volume)

The Bluetooth audio streaming is the best, it works with IPhone and Galaxy and i don't have to be plugged in to enjoy it just hop in and go.

Pros: Bluetooth audio features, Pioneer sound and design, all the ports and additions that Pioneer puts into their products, and with the ease of installation that Crutchfield offers with every purchase.

It's not fully compatible with my phone, but for the money it is a good unit! I would buy this unit again rather than looking for another unit.

Was excited to find that I can put a Husker logo as my background. Need to connect the parking brake wire to accomplish the connection to a usb drive. Great sound quality. DVD video quality pretty good. Only complaint is that it can be difficult to see the screen during the daytime. Overall very happy with purchase.

Pros: Easy bluetooth connection. Hands free calling easy and clear. Customizable.

Cons: Difficult to see in sun.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was expecting decent functionality, and I have been wowed by this thing. Install is straightforward as any head unit is. The sound delivery is impeccable. I have never been disappointed with Pioneer, and this one is no different. The USB functionality allows me to plug in my 1TB Portable Hard Drive and it will read my music, videos, and pictures flawlessly, though it, expectedly, does take a little bit to get everything loaded up. Reads my Android too. It looks very understated, but sleek. Looks great in my 88 MR2 AW11. The touchscreen is responsive and accurate, and is delightful to operate. No quirks or strange functionality with it. The buttons on the side do not have a "click" of any kind, but they are solid, so even though you don't get a satisfying confirmation that you clicked the button, they have a good feel to them, and it didn't take long for me to get used to them. The screen has "low" resolution, like I've seen some complain about, but don't be misled, because the picture is still pretty clear. This isn't meant for your living room after all. The menus are very thorough and pretty easy to navigate, a tough combination. The audio control and customization is excellent, though better in some other units. Bluetooth is easy to setup, and voice clarity is excellent on both ends. I haven't had the time to give it the full functionality test, but overall, I'm glad I spent the extra money for this touchscreen over the standard double DIN unit. Worth it!

Pros: Responsive and Accurate Touch Screen USB Functionality Sound Quality Menu Navigation Customizability Bluetooth Functionality Bluetooth Clarity Looks Very Sleek in my 88 MR2 Straightforward install of accessories Reads my Android (KitKat) devices with no problem

Cons: Small AWG wires on harness Side Buttons don't offer any sort of "click" of any kind Screen resolution is a little low

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This stereo is a great value! for the price you get a lot. sound quality is better than a stock radio. the amount of inputs/outputs in the back are nice. It has a USB cable that comes with it, it hooks up into the back of the stereo, and you can route the cable to where you need in the dash so you can put in a flash drive. it's awesome! And it plays the files in a folder format. meaning if I have a band, and they have 5 albums, I can put that hold band folder into the flash drive. and it will show up as band>albums>songs. not like the ipod style. that was a big key factor for me. not everyone uses Apple products, we don't like the way they categorize their files! you can still use your iphones or whatever with the stereo, but it's an android capable stereo also. and the flash drive works like windows format. you can hook up a rear view camera, you can watch dvds and view pictures! you can save pictures to the stereo and use that as a background! you can change the color of the side buttons to match your vehicle's interior color. and it' nice cause you can fine tune on the color scale to get that exact shade, or hue of green or blue, or red. whatever color interior your car is, you can match it! it's a nice, responsive touch screen. Bluetooth works nice. lots of features. it's great buy for the price!

Pros: quality price brand touchscreen android

Cons: image quality when viewing pictures could be a little better no built in voice control for phone calls, have to use your phone's voice control

I gave it four stars due to the fact that the manual did not really show you how to install the rear facing camera. Before the radios used to come with a remote output for subs and an antenna output. Now you have to splice to use the remote for both. The image quality of the DVD was the real reason it only got four stars. I was expecting a little clearer picture, but nonetheless, it works really well. I really like the fact that it works really well with the iPhone. and I hooked up some subs. I really like the built in EQ, but wish it would have a sub only EQ.

Pros: Ease of use. Bluetooth is super clear. Iphone works great with this device. sound quality vastly improved over stock. looks nice but has a little glare during the day. The build quality is nice too.

Cons: Backup camera wiring instructions were meh... The DVD playback quality was OK. I expected a clearer picture.

Had this unit installed a few days ago. Very easy to operate and the mic is a definite bonus for this unit. Sound quality is like night and day compared to the stock head unit in my 2005 Ford F150 FX4 Supercrew. Bluetooth connectivity works perfectly, but the only complaint is there is no aux input in the front display. I have one going through my glove box since it was easier, but the convenience for my passengers to hook up their audio on the front display wouldve been preferred. Either way, love this product and would recommend.

I just purchased this head unit for my 2005 Nissan Xterra. It's a knock around vehicle so I did not want to invest a lot of $$$. I was very surprised and pleased with the all around quality of the unit. I purchased the wiring harness for it so the install was simple up to the point of trying to find the parking brake wire to attach the parking brake line to. All was good though, the very capable and patient tech staff at Crutchfield guided me through it sending me pictures of where the line could be found etc. They did a great job guiding a complete amateur through the install! Great job techs! Once installed the unit looked great and I was able to color match the lighting to my Nissan Amber. The radio sounds okay with a lot of custom eq however I only have stock low line speakers so I shouldn't expect much. I am sure it would pop with better speaks , power amp and a subwoofer :-). May be calling for that Crutchfield as well as a backup camera! My Samsung Galaxy S4 synced right in for hands free calling. All in all very pleased with my purchase.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit was an upgrade for my son, so he can use his phone and music through the bluetooth connection. It also comes with a USB cable and the ability to accept a steering wheel control adapter was also a plus. Now, let me be clear---This was an awesome review because of Cris Baker. He was the best. If not for his guidance, his patience, his prompt calls every time I called, I could not have done this. I am an attorney, not a car stereo installer. BUT, I am a car stereo installer now, thanks to Cris. Crutchfield is a better place as he talked me through all steps and the unit works like a charm, and I have a project completed with my son, which is a Mastercard commercial--Priceless. You have to take it slowly, find ways to run wires, and pay attention to colors of wires. Matching wires, following instructions, and double-checking your work, you can do this. It is far from plug and play, so it's not snap this harness to this, and poof-done. Crutchfield is lucky to have Cris B, as without him, could not have done this.

Pros: Pioneer unit has bluetooth, a usb cable, plays dvds when in park with emergency brake on, and a snap with proper guidance and posi products, which make tapping wires or connecting them so easy. Unit can accept a rear camera too, in the future. Programming the steering wheel control was not that bad either.

Cons: Posi connectors are not included, and no one tells you that when you make the purchase. It is easy to think you have everything you need, since Crutchfield gives you a lot with purchase. The metra double-din multi kit comes with very poor instructions. Cris figured that I had no diagram of the tabs to break off. Once he emailed me the diagram, the bezel worked, though not perfect.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The X2600BT is a very nice car stereo giving you connectivity to your iPod by cable and to iPhone by BlueTooth. In general, I am very, very happy with this unit. I got it at a good value. Currently (12/5/2014), Crutchfield has a price break on it which is a complete steal. The unit looks pretty slick and with Crutchfield's free mounting bracket and wiring harness and instructions, installation is easy. You may want to keep a microfiber cloth in your car to wipe your smudgy prints off the display occasionally. I would also like to say a few words about Crutchfield. They are outstanding! I had excellent assistance selecting a unit, getting tech support, and getting customer service support. If every company were like them, MSN wouldn't always be running those "10 most hated companies in America" slideshows!

Pros: Selection and playback control of songs from your iPod is very flexible. The phone interface is very nice and gives you great ability to make and receive calls and texts hands-free, access your phone book, and interact with your phone's automatic assistant.

Cons: Unit has a tendency to lose contact with the iPod, even connected by cable. You generally have to reboot the iPod to restore communications. Expect this to happen periodically. Swapping for a different model and replacing the cable didn't help. My cousin has the same issue with OEM stereos in his cars, so I think it's an Apple compatibility issue. If you're a middle-aged guy like me, do NOT activate MIXTRAX. You'll be sorry. ;-)

It was easy to install...much easier than we originally thought it would be. I have a few minor complaints, but over all, it is a great stereo that I would recommend to anyone!

Pros: Great sound, even with my old factory speakers and low end sub and amps Versatile, connects USB, AUX, Bluetooth and plays CD's and DVD's.

Cons: Screen is very dim in the daytime, I had to get creative and add a shade over it in order to see it in the sun. On the flip side, there is no way to dim the screen much at night without just turning off the display completely. In USB mode, there is no way to eliminate the display information and just see the least I have not figured it out after lots of research

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was my first double din touch screen install. My previous stereos have all been single din Alpine and JVC units. I was disappointed. The first disappointment was with the MIXTRAX DJ option. It's not what I expected. It switches between songs using a transitional effect such as a turntable scratch or other effect, for the length of time you select, but to me, it doesn't sound all that great. The onscreen lights that beat with the music is nothing more than a couple little spear like things that pulse around the artwork. Nothing fancy, and the color of the pulsing spears is an ugly, washed out white ish.... blueish.. well... it's ugly. Speaking of visualizations, I expected some sort of option to turn on a nice looking visualization on screen when listening to music, but there aren't any. The artwork is displayed in low-grade 256 bit coloring, too. The equalizer is easy to use and you can get a ok sound from it, but the presets are junk. The S.Bass has entirely too much bass. Useless if you don't have good subs... unless you want to ruin your speakers. The Powerful EQ preset is decent. The Natural, Vocal and Flat presets are basic, plain and horrible. You can save 2 custom presets, but that's all. Mirrorlink might be cool, but that's extra money if you want it. The backgrounds you have to choose from are all dark, washed out and ugly. I doubt I'll buy anymore Pioneer HUs. PS The CPU is slow and choppy. Replaced: 2006 Mustang GT Shaker500

Pros: There is a "display" button where you can turn the display screen off. Good for night driving if the screen is too bright and distracting. But you would think it would at least display the Time in this mode. As for the control, it's pretty easy to get used to and operate, but other than that, there's not much to brag about.

Cons: The visual aspect of the unit is just downright ugly. The backgrounds are ugly and composed of black and washed out horrible blue color. There are no reds, greens, yellows, nothing except black and blue.... an ugly shade of blue. No visualizations, cheap 256-bit artwork and the mixtrax is useless. The CPU is slow and choppy. With today's processing and memory power, there's no reason this thing should be so slow at browsing through folders. I just don't like it. It's cheap.

I love this stereo, it has a lot of wires coming out of it, and the wiring manual wasn't very clear on what went where, but once I got it set up it plays great sound quality and it's touch screen is very responsive. Overall great customization features, I can customize pretty much everything.

Pros: Great quality and customize options

Cons: difficult to install and set up for everything

    2004 Mazda RX8
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Crutchfield installation documentation was helpful in gaining access to the car's stock head unit. The Mazda RX8 has two sound system configurations, stock and Bose system. My particular installation has the Bose system which has a two amplifier systems, one for the back deck speakers and one for each front door sub woofer. The Pioneer HU wiring instructions are straight forward making the assumption that your car has a standard speaker configuration or an after market amplifier installation. The RX8 amp system a different animal. Long story short (for RX8/Bose) if you are using the Metra wire harness kit, solder RCA jacks to the Metra speaker wire harness and plug in the back of the Pioneer HU. For the tech crowd, this would be a "duh" statement, for the novice, most would connect the Pioneer HU's speaker wiring harness directly to the Metra speaker wire harness. One does not want send an amplified signal into an existing amplified system. All is all, the sound quality is wonderful. The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT compliments the RX8's Bose system beautifully. It may take a little work, but well worth the effort.

Pros: Nice, simple and passive when the system is off Main and adjustment screens are intuitive Good supporting sound controls without having to tweak the EQ all the time. Bluetooth interface for music and cell phone is nice.

Cons: Day time driving, with the headlights on, causes screen to dim making it hard to see the controls.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great unit if you want awesome sound, but you don't want to break the bank. We upgraded a Subaru legacy factory radio to this, and kept the stock speakers in (for now). Once we got it all tuned right, it sounds amazing. I would recommend this to somebody who understands the technology and knows how to use it correctly

Pros: Multiple outputs and Built in EQ

Cons: Pandora connectivity can take a few try's to work, but not a big deal

Overall not bad, App mode is dreadful.

Chuck R from Minnestoa on 5/26/2014

Does the basics well. Phone sound and mic works well. The apps are a joke. I would have been irate if i would have paid the big $ for the pioneer cables for this level of software. The hole app system feels very amateur. Very few apps, Any navigation software is expensive, $100+. Yes it has the factory Pioneer map, that is a map with no capability of directions or searching. Dvd playback works well.

Pros: *Sound is good, Typical Pioneer adjustments. *Display/button colors cam be changed to match factory instruments.

Cons: *Screen not bright enough to keep up with sunlight. *"Soft" buttons are tiny, especially the tune buttons. *App mode is dreadful.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

fairly easy to install. i only had 2 issues. 1- the wire color on the harness were off a bit. the red was orange. 2- the instructions in the face-plate were confusing. I needed to cut the tabs off but in one section it said don't cut this tab then in the next it said cut this tab. Sound is great even with stock speakers.

Pros: Hands free calling and Siri.

Cons: I still dont know what adapter i need for my iphone 5. iphone adapters are pricey and no dedicated lighting cable.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First of all I would like to say that "Yes, I could have gotten this same model cheaper elsewhere", but by the time you add in the installation gear and recommended installation elsewhere, you are right back to the same price. Buying a car stereo from Crutchfield not only gives you the installation gear for free, they also give you vehicle specific instructions that even a trained monkey could understand. With their "Master Sheet" instructions, you ARE a professional installer. That said, the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT was installed in my 2003 Mazda Miata SE. With the addition of the Scosche SLC4 audio level adapter, I was able to connect the Pioneer head unit to the car's factory Bose amplifier, and the sound is truely fantastic. I mostly use my iPod, and the controls for that are straight forward and easy to use. The large multi-line information display shows Artist Name, Album Title, Track Title, and Genre. My smartphone paired easily with the Pioneer's bluetooth functions perfectly, and even plays the turn-by-turn audio from my phone's navi app, so there is really no need to buy the Pioneer optional nav unit. I never listen to the radio, so the fact that this model didn't have HD radio didn't really bother me.

Pros: Easy to install. Intuitive controls make it easy to adjust the panel lighting and background to match my car's dash lighting. Intuitive controls make it easy to use all the features of the unit. Has all the features I needed it to have, and many other features that were not part of my requirements.

Cons: Not very easy to see the display in a convertible on a sunny day, but then there is no stereo display that would be easy to see in a convertible on a sunny day.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am mostly happy with this unit, but a few things bother me... 1. The lights on the buttons on the left side do not dim when the car lights are turned on 2. The volume seems to jump in large increments 3. The radio memory buttons scroll through the name of the last song played (last time you listened to the station), instead of showing the station number. It is hard to tell which station is which by the presets 4. The song name playing on the radio station only shows one word at a time, although the screen is quite large. Seems like they could fit more text on the display 5. I thought the Mirrorlink capabilities would work through Bluetooth (I thought I read the description 10x). Apparently I missed that I needed to buy a smartphone cable. 6. I couldn't tie into my parking brake cable, because it is tied up with a lot of other cables under my center console (yes, I pulled everything apart), so I can't figure out how to get the DVD player to just shows a blank screen and plays the audio. 7. I wish I had purchased the next unit up so I could get HD radio - I thought it was included in this unit, but it is not.

Radio sounds great, apps a disappointment

Nick D from Pleasant Hill, CA on 3/9/2014

Concept is great, follow through needs work; I was sold on the fact that this one of pioneers best app enabled radios out there. In order to get the full functionality of the head units capabillities the iphone must be plugged in. That means a lightning cord and a vga cord with a combiner which is not so great looking to have all these cords plugged in. You also have to download apps to make it work correctly which all are very clunky to use. For example, when running waze you have no control over the music except for volume control, u have to exit out of the waze app, change a song, then start it back up. There are maybe 5 apps I have even heard of that are truly compatible and the rest are apps pioneer has made themselves. I am not impressed by this receiver so far in regards to music playback and app compatibility. Sound is pretty good though. I will most likely be returning the product but that is strictly based on app compatibility. If music is your only concern the bluetooth playback is pretty nice except that the head unit does not usually remember what apps you were using to play music last.

Pros: Sounds is good, customizable factor, the bare necessities have all been met for a receiver

Cons: Clunky, needs updates that are not available to fix bugs, needs more apps to be compatible ie tunein radio, soundcloud etc, waze needs help to be able to control music while in app mode, should be able to use cars preexisting microphone, usb/aux ports, resolution could be better, bluetooth auto connect is 50/50.

    Very high quality unit

slimj12 from Fort Smith, AR. on 3/8/2014

This unit surprised me. I bought what I thought was a low end upgrade for the factory unit in my Subaru Forester. I was blown away. I installed the unit with the Metra ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter kit. Both integrated seemlessly. The reception on the radio is amazing and living in a rural area that is a must. The Bluetooth is easy automatically connects and handles Pandora perfectly. The included microphone is amazing and the calls are crystal clear. I have paid much more for units in the past and they didn't come close to the quality this unit offers. Thank you Pioneer for making a unit that fulfills the needs of a responsible family man and also captures the attention of the young audiophile all in one sweet unit.

Pros: Ease of use, great reception, lots of options, Bluetooth is actually usable, the sound quality is amazing, and it looks really cool.

Cons: None significant enough to mention

The only thing that probably sucks about this and this is really for all Pioneer headunits is the radio signal strength went down, but other than that it's awesome.

Pros: DVDs work Pandora is awesome. Touch screen works like a charm

Cons: Radio signal strength went down and to use mirrorlink and app mode you gotta buy the extra cords

Took a little work to get it set up exactly how I wanted but in the end it was worth it. Right out of the box it made the sound system in my 05 Avalanche sound better. Movies and music play extremely clear, it's easy to use and looks amazing. Bluetooth works perfect for phone calls and streaming music. I like how I can scan through my music without it having to be plugged. Would definitely recommend this unit for anyone looking for a quality dvd/audio unit.

Pros: Good looks, good sound quality, and easy to use

    2003 Nissan Xterra
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this unit in my 2003 Xterra and I haven't done this kind of thing in years (decades) and I have to say it went pretty smoothly. I found the install instructions a little confusing because I had to get pieces of info from the stereo's install manual, the Crutchfield Master Data Sheet and the adapter's instructions. The only glitch I found was that the factory bracket holes didn't line up with holes in the side of the new unit. Per instructions, I had to remove the brackets from the factory radio and attach them to the AVH-X2600BT. Only 3 out of 4 screws lined up with holes on each side, but it seems to be plenty to hold it all in place. As for the unit itself, the purchase was all about integrating with my iphone 4s. I have to say it met my expectations, which was that I could use bluetooth for streaming music and phone calls. Anything else over that is a bonus. The sound quality is noticeably better than the factory unit thru stock speakers and the built-in equalizer is great for me. The bluetooth is extremely good. I just get in my car and start it and the unit powers on and connects instantly with the phone. One complaint is that I drive with my lights on for safety during the day and that dims the display, which isn't always bright enough for me to see. I can't find a setting for this. I also got the optional plug-in power cord, but I haven't used it much. AppRadio stuff isn't appealing to me, perhaps it will get better.

Pros: Relatively easy install Good unit for the money Sound quality bluetooth integration with iphone 4s Touch screen - even works with winter gloves on Cool to play with display backgrounds/colors

Cons: No way to modify screen brightness settings Factory brackets didn't fit properly on this unit

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Picked this items because it was one of the 2014 models. I personally own a 2005 tacoma and wanted an upgrade to my existing aftermarket JVC unit. The power can be felt in every speaker and the sound is crisp with the proper tuning .The touch screen is nice and very responsive. The bluetooth works fine with my Galaxy S4 and the unit works very well with my usb thumb drive. Installation WAS easy from start to finish . I had no issue with the mounting brackets in the dash kit, I was able to use my old Metra dash face and the interface from the new to close up any gaps. The unit is quite sturdy and I have not noticed any squeaks or vibrations from the head unit while drivng. I do recommend that you use the round headed screws with the mounting brackets because the flat ones don't really have much reach and are prone to crack the plastic brackets . The video quality is good enough for this unit when watching a dvd. With an amplified system , you really get the feeling of being at the cinema or in you home theater. Having the 8 band equalizer is a nice touch to tweaking out the most from sound from your head unit without having to buy a separate equalizer. Years ago, the only Pioneer products I would buy were their speakers but I am glad with this unit. I will post again in the future about its durability after a couple months of regular use and also installing a backup camera.

Pros: Sound quality is great. Real easy to use after tinkering around with the settings. Installation was a snap to do and it really perked up my aftermarket speakers . I got so much bass now that it's rattling parts outside my truck that never rattled before. My back glass flexes with every drop of the lows.

Cons: Sent back the mirrorlink adaptor because it turned on my amps with the radio being off. I hooked everything up correctly but when I plugged in the cable into the GPS port and turn the key to acc or on, my amps turn on. When I disconnect the cable from the GPS port and turn the key to acc or on, the amps stay off. I think that the mirrorlink technology has a few kinks that may need working out before the World accepts it fully. Will try the adaptor again if improvements have been made .

6.1" TFT LCD Touchscreen Color Display: The AVH-X2600BT features a 6.1" TFT Active Matrix, 16:9 widescreen touchscreen display. The resolution of the display is 800 x 480 (RGB), for a total of 1,152,000 pixels. The touchscreen display allows you to control this unit and a connected component such as an iPod/iPhone, or USB mass storage class device. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio adjustments, and setting up the system.

    • Widescreen Modes: You can choose from the following widescreen modes when playing back video - Full (4:3 picture is enlarged in the horizontal direction only; enabling you to enjoy a 4:3 picture without any omissions), Zoom (4:3 picture is enlarged in the same proportion both vertically and horizontally; ideal for a 16:9 screen), Normal (4:3 picture is displayed as it is).
    • Picture Adjustments: You can store numerous video settings for the head unit's video source and rear-view camera; including brightness (adjusts the black intensity), contrast (adjusts contrast) color (adjusts color saturation), temperature (adjust the color temperature), and Dimmer (adjusts brightness).
    • OSD + Backgrounds: The color of the on-screen display can be set to red, amber, green, blue or white. The background can be set to one of four preset still images, two moving images, a stored JPEG image, spectrum analyzer, or turned Off.
Note: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT offers English, Chinese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish text.

Front-Panel Control w/ Custom Illumination: In addition to the touchscreen controls, the unit includes frequently used buttons along the left edge of the screen. The color of the button illumination can be set to red, amber, green, blue, white, or scan (constantly cycling through the color spectrum). As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose among twelve patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music.

Dimmer: To prevent the display from being too bright at night, the display is automatically dimmed when the car's headlights are turned on. The automatic dimmer function only works when the orange/white illumination wire in the wiring harness is connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit.

Parking Brake Interlock: This unit has a parking brake interlock system that prohibits viewing of video programming and operating certain controls when the vehicle is in motion. In order to watch video on the in-dash monitor, the vehicle must be stopped with the parking brake engaged. AM/FM + Pandora Internet Radio

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID AM/FM tuner features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. You can choose from - Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, Flat, Custom 1, or Custom 2. The Custom 1 and Custom 2 EQ modes allow you to manually adjust the level (+/- 12dB) of each band of the head unit's 8-band graphic equalizer (40Hz, 80Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz, and10kHz).

Auto EQ (Optional): The auto-equalizer automatically measures your car's interior acoustic characteristics, and then creates an auto-equalizer curve base on that information. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone (130CDMC20, sold separately) is required to use this function. The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone plugs into your compatible Pioneer A/V receiver's rear-panel AUX 3.5mm input. The Auto-EQ microphone should be placed in the center of your vehicle's driver seat headrest facing forward for EQ measurement.

Audio Settings: The head unit provides further sound adjustments for your car audio system.

    • Sonic Center Control: Sound that is suited for the listening position can easily be created with this function. You can adjust sound more toward the listening position left (7) to right (7).
    • Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. When the Advanced Sound Retriever is on, the high frequency range is compensated to match the frequency response curve to the original sound. There are two available levels of the Advanced Sound Retriever effect.
    • Loudness: The Loudness function compensates for deficiencies in the low- and high-frequency ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness to High, Mid, Low, or Off.
    • Bass Boost: You can easily boost the subwoofer bass level by using the Bass Boost function. The Bass Boost feature allows you increase the subwoofer level from 0 to +6 (12dB).
    • Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source (AM, Pandora, iPod, Apps) to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the unit's FM volume level, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4 dB to +4 dB.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App/Media App Control mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone/iPad. It is also not supported by USB MTP devices.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation.

    AV Connections

Dual AV Inputs: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT has dual AV inputs to connect two external audio/video sources. The head unit has a rear-panel 3.5mm minijack AV input for connecting a portable audio/video device. There is also a rear-panel composite video/stereo RCA AV input for connecting a video component such as a mobile TV tuner or game console. The rear-panel 3.5mm minijack input also serves as the A/V input for your USB-connected iPod/iPhone (using the proprietary Pioneer cable).

Video Output: The AVH-X2600BT features a rear-panel composite video output that allows you to connect an external display to the unit. You can play back the same video source which is being played on the head unit. You can select the unit to output a 16:9, Letter-Box or Pan-Scan aspect ratio to match your external display's screen size.

Rear-View Camera: The AVH-X2600BT is equipped with a composite video rear-view camera input for the addition of an optional backup camera (130NDBC6, sold separately). The unit features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image. When the vehicle's transmission is put in reverse, the screen automatically switches to the rear view camera (violet/white wire of the harness must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching). Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.8 seconds. Pioneer recommends using a camera with a mirror image (reversed) output. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

Navigation Ready: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT allows you to connect the Pioneer AVIC-U260 add-on navigation unit (130AVIC260, sold separately) through its RGB Input. This versatile hideaway unit allows you to switch to navigation mode with the touch of a button. Get to your destination by inputting an address or search through the POI library while enjoying whatever source is currently playing.

Note: If you are already using the head unit's RGB input to access AppRadio Mode from your iPhone or MirrorLink from your compatible smartphone, then you cannot connect this add-on navigation module (or vise-versa).

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The Pioneer AVH-X2600BT includes an IR remote control (CXE5116) for wireless operation of the multimedia head unit and your connected devices.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

I don't really know, but I'd guess it's to eliminate any little glitches that may have gotten into it prior to arriving into your hands. It's much preferable to do a reset before programming all your radio stations, EQ settings, etc. than after. [ Jeffrey  Apr 05, 2015 ]
No. Apps are only supported on the S3 the last i checked. It is an issue with the manufacture of the software for the app based radio. [ Erik  Apr 01, 2015 ]
    Yes [ Stephen  Mar 26, 2015 ]
Yes, however if wired according to instructions and most state laws, the vehicle will have to be in park with parking brake applied for DVD video to play. Really great unit, and a fair price! [ Richard  Mar 26, 2015 ]
No extra cords needed, however the vehicle must be in park. [ ALEXANDER  Mar 26, 2015 ]

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Pioneer stereo puts out 14 watts of RMS (continuous) power per speaker at four ohms (most speakers are four ohms), and it puts out up to 50 watts of peak power, which isn't continuous, only for bursts. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Mar 25, 2015 ]  Staff

I do not own one so I do not know to be honest. [ Daniel  Mar 21, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Pioneer stereo does work with most Blackberry phones with bluetooth. In order to use bluetooth with the stereo it must be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following bluetooth profiles: Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile). Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile). Yes, your Android phone just needs to have voice activation turned on. [ SCOTT  Mar 15, 2015 ]
Android phones do connect via blue tooth. So you can answer via the head unit. I suppose if your phone supports voice dialing it will utilize the head unit for speaker and microphone, but I don't use voice dialing. I don't believe you can text on the head unit. [ Shawn  Mar 13, 2015 ]
I use this with my Nexus 5. It works flawlessly. Probably the best bang for your buck. Voice recognition functionality, yes. As for texting, if you mean texting on the actual units screen, I don't know. [ ERIC J  Mar 13, 2015 ]
Absolutely! I hooked one up & love it. Works great when you back up or you can just switch it on to view full time. [ Dave  Mar 09, 2015 ]
Yes , it doesnt come included. I bought a backup camara and used it with this unit and it works great. [ JAVIER  Mar 09, 2015 ]

No. The only rca pluc on the back is one rca video for back up camera (So in a way i guess you could use the rearview to display the iphone and not use a backup camera). [ Adrian  Feb 17, 2015 ]
Frank, Yes, that unit does support Mirror link on both the iPhone 6 and 6plus as well as Samsung Galaxy s4 and my S5. I'm not sure about LG as i do not use that brand. I've also used my Samsung Galaxy tab4 and it supported mirror link connection. However, and it's also upto you, but primary I always just use Bluetooth streaming. I've also installed a thumb drive with transferred music directly to the thumb drive and play music from it. Sound quality is just as good as a simple CD. [ SCOTT  Feb 06, 2015 ]
Mirror link is for android phones only. So not iPhone 6 [ Shawn  Feb 06, 2015 ]
It also has AM radio... crazy technology.. [ Richard  Mar 26, 2015 ]

Yes you are correct. Just about all receivers carry fm compatabillity. [ NICK  Jan 28, 2015 ]
It does have FM rsdio. There is a button on the left side in the middle. You click on that and it shows you all the features. I wish i could take a picture for you. Let me know if this helped you at all. Thanks Tammy [ TAMMY M  Jan 28, 2015 ]
It does have fm radio, but it doesn't have hd radio. [ Ray M.  Jan 28, 2015 ]

Sorry I don't think I can help. I had my unit installed and my unit automatically dims when my headlights come on. [ Joel  Dec 29, 2014 ]
The dim is triggered by a wire coming out the back of the radio(should be orange- you can check your radio owners manual for this information) this wire should be hooked up to the wire coming from your vehicle that signaled your previous radio to dim. You may have to do some testing with a multimeter to find the wire that has a voltage change when your lights are switched on/ off. If you don't have experience in wiring, I suggest you purchase the plug and play interface for your model car. I bought it for my Ford Mustang because of the amps for the shaker system and it shortened my install time from hours to only 20 minutes. Hope this helps. [ Jake  Dec 28, 2014 ]
It's actually not in your settings it is apart of your wiring harness when you first had your radio installed. If you didn't wire it to dim it will never dim. [ Matthew  Dec 28, 2014 ]
Have had it for about a year and still don't know? [ aaron James  Dec 28, 2014 ]

Hi Laura G, You can hook a Blueray player to this unit if the player has a standard video/audio output. Car audio equipment has not not moved to HDMI cables so your video will not be 1080P & the audio will be in standard stereo & not 5.1 surround sound but it will play through all the speakers. [ Cory  Dec 22, 2014 ]
    Yes sir [ Demetrius  Dec 21, 2014 ]
It does not have hd radio built in, the next model up will though, avhx3600bhs I believe. [ Ray M.  Dec 21, 2014 ]

I'm not sure. I have a Samsung S4. I simply just clicked on my bluetooth and I synced it and it automatically did the rest. Hope this helps. Most android phones are compatible with it. It is a great stereo for sure. Tammy [ TAMMY M  Dec 04, 2014 ]

IM not sure. I never had that problem. sorry I wasn't any help. Good luck [ LARRY J  Oct 06, 2014 ]
I had this same issue in my daughter's car. I believe you have to turn Bluetooth of on the unit and then go back into settings and the unit will have the option available to clear memory. The unit only allows upto 3 Bluetooth devices. It's sort of a pain, but that's how I was able to reset the memory. Hope this helps. [ SCOTT  Oct 05, 2014 ]
Have you tried turning off the Bluetooth visibility on a few of the other devices it might be picking up. I recall my radio showing the device number off the item it would notice then I would have to turn the visibility on from the device for it to sync up. [ SCOTT  Oct 05, 2014 ]
Sorry. I don't use the mirror link feature. This deck is awesome though! Love it! [ Dave  Sep 18, 2014 ]
It does for my iPhone when it's on app radio mode. I don't see why not [ Shawn  Sep 18, 2014 ]
This is great for galixy and i phones but you need the mirror box to do the nav not cheap [ SHAWN  Sep 08, 2014 ]
    Don't know. Haven't tried. [ SAM  Sep 07, 2014 ]
The only compatible nav app is Waze and it does not work fluidly with the iOS interface. [ Jason  Sep 06, 2014 ]
The nav screen does NOT come up when using the 5s. This is my exact setup. It will put the voice directions through the car speakers which is safer than looking at a screen anyways. I love this unit and would recommend it for sure. Mine is in a Chevy Silverado and I'm using the iPhone 5s. [ JUSTIN  Sep 06, 2014 ]

As far as I know it should never tried but it said it did play flash drives [ NICHOLAS  Aug 19, 2014 ]
Great! I've been looking awhile for a unit like. Keep coming back to this one. My last was a Kenwood ddx418 but i broke the DVD mechanism with a telephone pole. Thanks again! [ Elijah  Aug 18, 2014 ]
Yeah it does, you just gotta make sure it's the right aspect ratio or it will give you a error. [ Shawn  Aug 18, 2014 ]
No idea about iphone. I have my adroid paired with it and see all the choices when I run Pandora or make phone calls. I also installed a rear camera and it comes on the screen when I am in reverse. My guess is it would work fine. [ Stupor  Aug 06, 2014 ]
Hey Brett, I bought this HU for my girlfriend in December. It does not allow you to display any maps except for "Waze" GPS and even that only works half of the time. All in all a great head unit but now that there are more HU's out with greater iPhone 5 functionality, I would go with another option. [ Jason  Aug 06, 2014 ]
Great question in which it made me curious, so I tried it. Unfortunately, this unit does not allow more than one bluetooth connection. I attempted this using two Samsung GALAXY S4 phone's. However, one of the cool things is I have one phone connected via bluetooth and the other USB and play music or Pandora over USB and the other for just phone calls. It's the best this unit can do where as my Kenwood DNX6180 doesn't allow bluetooth streaming in my other vehicle. Perhaps looking at newer Kenwoods and also newer Pioneer AVIC NEX models. [ SCOTT  May 29, 2014 ]
This unit can only handle one connected device at a time. Each time we attempt to have more than one device even linked to the unit, it seems to get confused and acts buggy. 1 linked and paired device at a time seems to offer the best performance. [ Jason  May 29, 2014 ]
Tough question! I would have to guess one at a time, it shuts down music when the phone rings, so I think it's one task at a time. It would probably see and respond to more than one phone, but not answer 2 at a time. [ Stupor  May 29, 2014 ]
Yes, you should talk to a crutchfield advisor by online chat or phone. They can help you find the right adapter to keep the steering wheel buttons functioning with the new stereo. They offer this adapter for most cars. [ Liam  Apr 26, 2014 ]

I know of 2 ways to wire the backup camera. Either you can wire it for reverse only or ignition. Reverse only, you connect the positive camera power wire to the backup light circuit. That only supplies power to the camera when the reverse lights are on. I wired mine to the red ignition wire so I always have access to see the camera view whether in reverse or driving. Gives me extra eyes to see behind. Especially at traffic lights. [ Eric  Apr 14, 2016 ]
I found that it does according to the owner's manual. [ JebSim  Mar 10, 2014 ]
Steve, When connected and using the Bluetooth Audio mode (not using the special Ipod/Iphone connector that is sold separately) you control your music choice by using your iphone - not the head unit. So in the case of using Pandora or playing music directly you would control song and/or Pandora station choice through your iphone only. The only option you have is to forward while using Pandora - you cannot change stations, create stations, or do any other functions from the head unit. If you want to use the head unit to control Pandora you will need to buy the special connector they sell separately which then will also mean your phone will be tethered. Hope that helps! [ James  Mar 10, 2014 ]
Depending on which mode you are currently on at that time you can use the head unit or the iphone itself. Be warned though that in order to get the full functionality of the head units capabillities the iphone must be plugged in. You also have to download apps to make it work correctly which all are very clunky to use. For example, when running waze you have no control over the music except for volume control, u have to exit out of the waze app, change a song, then start it back up. I am not impressed by this receiver so far in regards to music playback and app compatibility. Sound is pretty good though. Just want to make sure your aware of how it works more than I was. I will most likely be returning the product but that is strictly based on app compatibility. If music is your only concern the bluetooth playback is pretty nice except that the head unit does not usually remember what apps you were using to play music last. [ NICK  Mar 09, 2014 ]
When I use bluetooth on my iPhone 4S, you must use the phone to select the music/podcast you want. Once selected, the head unit is able to pause/play and skip tracks, I believe you can also scrub to where you want, but I'm not sure, I've been using the proprietary apple cable for two weeks now, so I don't quite remember that aspect. [ Ray M.  Mar 09, 2014 ]
As long as the camera has a standard output it should work with this receiver. You can see the compatible back-up cameras that we carry by clicking on the accessories tab, then on the "Rear View and Auxilliary Cameras" heading: [ Jeff  Feb 27, 2014 ]  Staff
Sorry...haven't tried. I can tell you that pandora is a little sketchy. Doesn't seem to connect all the time. [ HENRIK  Feb 21, 2014 ]
Depends which app you use. I just use whatever app and view it from the phone on the screen while using Bluetooth music. [ clifford  Feb 17, 2014 ]
On my iPhone 4S I can listen to whatever I want (I listen to podcasts, slacker/pandora/spotify or music I have loaded on the iPhone via Bluetooth and it works really great. While playing any of these I can start up my navigation app and it will fade in with the turn-by-turn voice directions, then fade back to music. I use Scout ( used to be telenav) and waze. I do have 1 problem with waze where the turn by turn directions only play through the phone speakers, but this is a waze issue since I upgraded the device to ios7. I know this because it happens in another vehicle with a different iPhone integration set up. Note that it does not work like this with the sterero's radio setting, so you cannot listen to the radio and the nav app and have them both work together through the speakers. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate with your factory XM. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
