Pioneer DEH-X3700UI display controls 130X3700UI
Don't settle for vanilla. Pioneer's DEH-3700UI CD receiver features a multi-color, dual-zone display that lets you choose from thousands of colors — you can even set up one color for the display and another for the buttons. For some added excitement, Pioneer's unique MIXTRAX feature syncs the audio from many of your sources, adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music.
You can set the colors for the buttons and display independently.
The front-panel USB input allows you to connect your iPod® or iPhone®, then access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. When your iPhone's connected, you'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations from the receiver. You can use the USB input to tap into the music stored on many Android devices, while the front aux input handles just about any other audio source. If you're into your CD collection, you'll enjoy excellent playback of your store-bought and home-burned discs.
Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier delivers plenty of sonic punch, and you can use the 5-band EQ to get your music sounding just right. Two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Average Customer Review(s):
Installation was easy. The sound quality is so much better than my factory stereo.
Perfect fit for my needs. Exactly what I was looking for. Simple and easy to use.
Pros: Install and operation. Menus are easy to understand and operate.
I chose this unit because I was looking for something that had a dim-able display, where I could adjust the color to match the rest of the stock lights. In other words, I was looking for a head-unit that was unobtrusive looking. The color adjustment is nice, and matches pretty well, but the dimmer options don't give much control. There are 10 settings for the dimmer, but even the lowest is glaringly bright at night. The USB iPod input is nice, but the autoplay is not- the unit begins playing the first song in your music library whenever connected over USB, which is incredibly annoying. Installation was easy enough, with a few minor bumps due to discrepancies between instructions supplied with the head-unit, from Crutchfield, and from the dash kit (Metra). Overall though, the unit works well, and sounds good. Some nice features for the price.
Pros: Good Value, easy installation. Nice mix of features. Display color adjustment.
Cons: Display dimness setting does not go low enough. iPod auto-play feature is annoying.
The unit met all my expectations of quality and ease of installation. I have been using Pioneer radios for over 20 years and will continue to do so.
Awesome...product .better support
The Pioneer was exactly what was ordered. The workmanship of the product was right in line with expectations from the brand. Workmanship and performance of said product is and has been flawless. Instructions with ease of installation made for an easy and professional looking instal. Instructions made for ease of operations of all functions available with the head unit. Great product...Thanks.
Pros: Easy installation; clean look and seamless ergonomics; great operating and display options
Cons: limited expandability
nice unit at a good price and Crutchfield makes it easy to get all the extra gear to help with the install. **if installing a new deck and speakers in a dakota with factory infinity system, get a harness to bypass the factory amp. you will be disappointed with the sound out of your new deck and new speakers if you run it through the factory infinity amp.
Not powerful enough for my vehicle Jeep Wrangler
Great player for the price
Cons: Lots of menus
Works great; sounds a LOT better than the old factory unit.
Pros: USB & AUX front inputs were pretty much the only thing I was looking for. This has both of them.
Cons: Will not do the dishes or walk the dog for you.
Good unit for the price.
Great setup for the price. The packaging was good and the installation was a breeze.
Very nice radio for the price. It has a lot of nice features for the value.
Pros: Multi color display. Easy installation.
Cons: None yet.
Replaced radio in 1999 Dodge Ram. As usual, with the installation kit from Crutchfield, this was an easy install. Much better sound quality and love the ability to connect my iPhone to the head unit.
This radio was installed in the commuter car. It was easy to install, great sound and it is the 3rd pioneer radio that we have purchased and installed this year (2 were installed in RV). Great price!! Now the car needs new speakers. Back to crutchfield online to make another order!
Pros: See review
This was purchased for my son who has a 1994 Ford Explorer. I searched for a product that would fit in this model and make. True to the description, it fit and connected as described. My son loves it because he can connect his iphone to it and play his favorite music.
Pros: Great value, great look and easy to use
Cons: You may want someone who knows how to install radios to do it. This radio has a built in amp so we had to bypass the amp that was in my son's vehicle. If we were installing it we would not have known the bypass was needed.
I have owned several Pioneer products and they all have lived up to my expectations. This was a great find for me. It fits my 1953 Chevy Truck like a charm.
Pros: Great quality product for a great price. Even better than the radio is the Crutchfield Tech Support. They are always there to help you.
Excellent quality A+A+A+A+
A really in inexpensive after-market radio with inputs for IPod and Flash Drive.
It was very easy to install with all the stuff they give you. Will always buy at Crutchfield.
Does everything it says and fairly easy to use. Not many buttons, but one you learn how the one button does it all, you are good to go.
Pros: Features, colors, sound, small size
Cons: takes a little time to learn how to navigate
Having a older car from 1995, my factory deck stopped working properly. Searching for a replacement, this fit the bill nicely. For under $100, you get plenty of options to configure and especially like the display and buttons color adjustment to match my older cars dash colors. The deck has a clean appearance without the pinball machine graphics look. The higher density pixel display is a nice touch with easy to read text and back lighting. Sound quality is good with the ability to adjust output via a basic custom eq adjustment. CD quality playback is excellent, the usb/ipod and aux. jacks are a added bonus but haven't used them yet. I never owned a pioneer deck before but these aftermarket decks have come along way in the last few years and this one is nice one for the money.
Pros: Ability to customize the display to any color combo to match your dash lights, nice volume knob instead of buttons, higher pixel density display is very clear, sound quality is good, like the options of USB/ipod/aux inputs, displays station broadcast info on FM, seems to be a quality deck hopefully it will last awhile.
Cons: None really, except now I can tell the factory speakers are weak and will need replacement as well.
I bought this unit for my daughters car. I hadn't installed a car stereo since they were mounted under the dash. I was a little worried, Crutchfields instructions and phone support eased my nerves and my daugter was rockin' in a couple of hours! Looking forward to installing a new unit in a couple of classic cars and my truck.
Pros: Lots of features for the money. Good sound through factory speakers.
Cons: Function learning curve. It took me longer to figure out how to operate the unit than it did to install it.
love the CD player so far has many options for the bass with your sub woofers and was very easy to install. would buy again.
Pros: i like the colors u can choose from and the sound options.
Cons: no blue tooth if you are into that sort of stuff but i bought i because it did not have bluetooth.
We bought this for our daughters car and she absolutely loves it!
Pros: Good price and quality. Easy to install.
The stereo installed without any problems, related to the equipment & adapters (installed into an older Ford truck). The stereo sounds great. I did have trouble at first setting the display color, in the sunlight it was so faint I could not even see it. Once I got that sorted out I'm very happy with it.
Pros: Easy to set up & get the ipod going. For a low cost stereo the sound is quite good.
Cons: Display colors can be difficult to see. Chose your colors & brightness settings wisley
I really like this unit, I may buy another for my other car!!
Pros: Lotsa output power. Very versatile.
Cons: Set-up is a little complicated, but do-able.

You can choose to operate your iPod/iPhone through the head unit's front-panel controls, from its clickwheel/touchscreen, or via a streamed app from your iPhone.
Apple Device Compatibility Chart: The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone model functions (as of 9/26/2014):
|Apple Device||Generation||Tested Version||Media Type||Control Type||Display Type||Charge|
|Audio||Video||Head Unit||iPod/iPhone||App Mode||Pandora App||Artist/Song Text||Track Info|
Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
Auxiliary Input: The DEH-X3700UI is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player.
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
Pandora App: The free Pandora App lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer DEH-X3700UI using your connected Apple iPhone, via the Pioneer iPod connector cable (sold separately) or the connector cable that came with your iPhone. To access Pandora you must have an Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) with the latest version of the Pandora Radio application from Apple's iTunes App Store. Your iPhone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. You will also need a Pandora music service account. The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI will provide control over the Pandora music service and display Artist/Album/Song information.
Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.
24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.
MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-X3700UI is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the DEH-X3700UI are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.
Note: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.
4ch/2V Preouts: The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI features two pair of 2.0-volt preouts. The unit's Rear/SW preouts can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs. When the head unit's RW/SW preouts are configured as a subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-6/-12dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).
Equalizer: The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.
High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -6dB or 12dB.
Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies
Audio Level Settings: The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI CD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to tailor the bass, treble, and volume level to your preference.
MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.
Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone, and is not supported by USB MTP devices. The Advanced Sound Retriever function is disabled when MIXTRAX is activated.
Detachable Face Security: The Pioneer DEH-X3700UI in-dash CD receiver features detachable face security. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.
Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 5 preset colors (White/Red/Amber/Green/Blue), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red/Blue/Green brightness levels), or scan through a variety of colors.
Brightness Control: You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit.
MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose among twelve patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music. You can also choose which area's of the head unit's face illuminates; select Display, Display/Buttons, or Off.
Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can choose to have the clock display during playback of each source.
Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.
Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-X3700UI comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause playback, skip music tracks, change display info, and adjust audio settings. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). The volume stops at 62 [ JAHAR WAYNE Aug 16, 2015 ]
The max volume seems to change depending on the input source. I have had mine at 60, then only go to 50 or so. Max volume almost always sounds the same though. Maybe the input power gets multiplied and the output reaches max wattage before actual max volume, so that becomes the new max volume.[ Ben Aug 15, 2015 ]
Yes, if you have the system set to mixtrak it will display an array of colors[ JAHAR WAYNE Jul 09, 2015 ]
It's to retain factory steering wheel controls if you have them, not to add them.[ David Jun 04, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.[ Krissy Mar 02, 2015 ] Staff
