Our take on the Pioneer DEH-X6700BS

Siri Eyes Free, at your command

If you rely on your iPhone® and Siri, Pioneer's DEH-X6700BS CD receiver gives you a convenient Bluetooth® connection, so you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all commanded by your voice through your stereo. It can make your drive safer and more productive.

Add a SiriusXM tuner for programming variety

The entertainment variety of satellite radio makes it indispensable to truckers, RV owners, and other road warriors. With this Pioneer, you can add an optional tuner to access SiriusXM's impressive lineup with your receiver's controls. With your SiriusXM subscription, you'll enjoy hundreds of channels, covering the gamut of music, news, talk, sports, comedy, and much more.

Built-in Bluetooth

This versatile Pioneer allows you to answer a phone call with the push of a button. You'll talk as if your caller is sitting next to you, freeing up your hands and letting you concentrate on the drive. The DEH-X6700BS supports Bluetooth audio streaming too, so you can stream music wirelessly from compatible devices to the receiver, plus control basic functions like "track up" or "track down."

Plenty of media options

The front-panel USB input allows you to connect your iPod® or iPhone®, then access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. You'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations from the receiver with your iPhone or Android device. You can use the USB input to tap into the music files stored on many Android devices, and the front aux input handles just about any other audio source.

Pioneer DEH-X6700BS

You customize the display and control colors of the DEH-X6700BS to match your taste.

Turn on the color

The DEH-X6700BS CD receiver spans the color spectrum with a multi-color, dual-zone display that lets you choose from thousands of colors for the display and controls — you can even choose different colors for each. MIXTRAX adds to the fun by adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music. It's like having your own DJ riding shotgun.

Tailor the sound

Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier delivers plenty of punch, while the 5-band EQ lets you tweak the sound as much as you want. Three sets of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

    Great Bluetooth Receiver

Isaac from San Antonio, TX on 10/3/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bluetooth works great. Easy to use. But I was looking for the remote to connect to the steering wheel a year later and it was discontinued. Also the installation gear for my 1991 Ford didn't quite work out, but I rigged it up good enough. After owning a couple of different receivers, I think I would definitely go with Pioneer again or Alpine.

Pros: Bluetooth works great, especially with iPhone works good with my speakers easy to use

Cons: installation gear didn't work out can't find the steering wheel remote anymore

Excellent deck in every way, feature packed, bluetooth hands free has excellent voice quality, can't beat the price for everything included.

Pros: Intuitive design, great sound, bluetooth works well,

Cons: Hard to see in direct sunlight, equalizer settings are a bit arduous

Great value, great features, easy to use!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Factory radio stopped playing CD's and too much money for OE replacement, decided aftermarket is the way especially since I can add Bluetooth. Being a past pioneer user, 4-5 single and double DIN's, I like how pioneer works decided to get another. Works great, easy to setup, didn't even look at the manual to set up the radio, Bluetooth, audio etc. works great, Bluetooth connects well and plays music automatically. Easy to operate, familiar controls from previous radios. Makes factory speakers sound way better!

Pros: Easy to use, packed with features, USB input, Bluetooth, separate screen and button backlighting options.

Cons: If I start the car with remote start, not close enough for Bluetooth to connect obviously, when I get to the car, Bluetooth does not connect automatically, I have to force my phone to connect manually.

Great deal, harder to install than I expected

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After the factory 6cd changer conked out, I decided to replace. Searching showed quickly that Crutchfield had good value, esp considering adapters/dash kit included, and steering wheel kit for a reasonable additional price. Very convenient to enter the details of the car and be guided to just the right compatible products. Installation was more complex than I anticipated and I consider myself handy. Better if there were prewired plug-to-plug adapters rather than identify and connect like a dozen different wires. I had to call Crutchfield to figure out the powered antenna so the radio would work well. Even Crutchfield customer support wasn't for the steering wheel adapter, it took the expert advice of a friend to determine that the documentation was incorrect (not Crutchfield's documentation, it's pac-audio's fault). But now that I finally got it all working, I'm super happy with it!

Pros: -USB input -3.5mm input -Disc player handles mp3 discs -Bluetooth -Removable faceplate -Remote control

Cons: -Complex installation -Steering-wheel adapter instructions incorrect

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far, very nice radio in which one would expect from Pioneer. No complaints. The hands free calling could be a little clearer but hey, atleast the Bluetooth is updatable.

Pros: Ease of use, sound. Clarity.

Cons: The track and song information display does kinda scroll to the left a little fast.

Great Upgrade from OEM Radio and Easy Install

Jim from Athens, GA on 5/15/2016

    2000 Jeep Cherokee
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great quality and sound for the money. Audio control features such as treble, bass and fade adjustments are going to take a little getting use to versus having physical controls on the face of the OEM unit. Display color control adjustment, bluetooth and USB MP3 capabilities add to the coolness factor of this new radio. Adding a CD player was my main consideration in buying this radio.

Pros: Sound quality and remote control operation. Handsfree bluetooth a plus when using my cell phone. Looks great in the dash. Easy installation with the instructions provided by Crutchfield. Color coded wiring instructions were right on.

Cons: Would have been nice if wire connectors would have been included in the installation package. Otherwise, no complaints.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, a great unit. Does all it says it does - Bluetooth streaming and calling, CD player works well and does not skip, and has a front AUX as well. External mic for Bluetooth calling is awesome, picks up voice pretty far away, far better than using my phone on speaker. Color changing is awesome as well. Crutchfield does it again with free a installation kit, and "open box" item that appeared brand new for nearly $20 off. Can't ask for more.

Pros: Awesome little unit, has alot of features for a moderately priced head unit.

Cons: Doesnt look that visually appealing other than color changing, plastic feel can look/feel a little cheap.

    Works great but.....

Good unit for the price. My only issue is there are no traditional "bass" "treble" "mid" setting. You need to learn Hz to get it set correctly. Also it would be nice if you could turn off the lighting on the sides and if it had a "mute" button on the face. Other than that, it's a great unit

Cons: Lack of mute on receiver No traditional settings Still very bright on lowest setting at night

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I can't say anything bad about this radio. It sounds great and it looks great and in my car. I was able to match the display color to that of the rest of my instrument panel and installation was a breeze. Operation of the unit is so simple. I have everything set the way I like it, so all I pretty much have to do is jump in the car and turn the key on. The radio automatically connects to my phone and I'm listening to music and ready to answer phone calls via the hands free Bluetooth feature.

Pros: Easy to install and operate. It's a great quality radio at a great price. Syncs up to my Galaxy S6 with no problem. Sound quality of hands free phone and music is hard to beat.

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This head unit is a an awesome deal and very versatile. I have this unit powering two sets of Kicker CS series 6-1/2 component speakers without an amp and it sounds strong. I have always had good luck with pioneer in the past and this one doesn't disappoint. I love how much you can fine tune the sound. Another bonus with this unit is you can tweak the display color and brightness to match the rest of the dash on the vehicle.

Pros: Powerful, versatile and priced awesome. Plays CD's, keeping it old school!

Cons: I've never found a downside to any pioneer head unit.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Picked this up because I was looking for a new head unit for my 18 year old truck. Wanted hands free phone abilities, satellite abilities and a way to connect my phone/iPod. This covers it all. It also has amp outs and a sub out if ever I want to install those. If you are looking for something to upgrade what you have and bring it into the 21st century, consider this. With the install kit Crutchfield includes, it looks like a clean, factory install. I did it myself in less than 5 minutes.

    Great little radio

Gary C from Lexington, NC on 5/4/2016

    1991 Dodge Dakota
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm 54 years old and couldn't care less about "coolness factor" or flashing lights. I know that all the radios they have would all sound good, and have the USB, AUX, and Bluetooth if I wanted it. I was looking for a double DIN size radio to fit in my Dakota, but Crutchfield let me know that that size would not fit in my truck. Then I told them that I wanted a radio that had a display that would dim when I turned on the headlights. This radio has three dim modes; one dims radio when you turn on the headlights, one dims radio based on what time it is (don't know what that's for), and one dims radio manually with the "Dim" button on the front. The dim button on the front also will return display to full brightness if you have the headlights on and the display dimmed. (Like when it's raining during the day). I installed this radio myself and I thought that the wires were a little small to work with. But Crutchfield also sold me some great little screw together connectors that work great and were worth the money. I was also quite impressed with how fast this radio shipped to me. I had it the day after I ordered it, and installed at the same time that the payment was being withdrawn from my account. Very impressive! Big thumbs up to Crutchfield !!! Great recommendation. Great service. And a great radio!!!

Pros: Sounds great, and has the dimming.

    Cons: Small wires

Sounds great - retrofit to 2006 Sonata

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace the stock radio in my daughter's 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I wanted her to have Bluetooth handsfree for her iPhone and a way to listen to music from the phone. I didn't bother with steering wheel controls. The new radio sounds great. It was easy to install with the Crutchfield instructions and install kit (faceplate/mounting bracket and wiring harness). My only complaint is the display is a bit dim to read in sunlight, especially when setup with the darker colors. Thanks to the factory wiring harness mating connector (part of free install kit), I was able to solder together the 14 wires that were needed and do a neat and easy job on my workbench. Then, in the car, I just plugged it in and screwed it down. Nice and easy.

Pros: Easy install with Crutchfield Kit. Works great with iPhone for handsfree or music playback. Relatively easy to use.

Cons: Display is a bit dim in sunlight.

This was purchased to update a 2008 vehicles audio system . We wanted our teen drivers to be able to utilize hands free mobile phone and they wanted bluetooth audio streaming. Both features on this Pioneer in dash radio work. The teens also like that they can choose the display color and we like the ease of use this radio offers.

    Horrible illumination.

WJH from St Paul, MN on 4/19/2016

    2005 Pontiac Vibe

This is so frustrating that I can't even adjust the brightness enough to see on a sunny day. I have the brightness level at 10 and can only see it when it's cloudy or dark out. The original factory radio had no problems with illumination and the menu was so much easier to use. Is this the way all pioneer stereos work?

Pros: The BT phone interface works real well, easy to hear the caller through the speakers and the mic picks up my voice clearly. Physical installation of the stereo was incredibly easy.

Cons: Should include Braille on display as its not bright enough to see.

Never installed a stereo before in my vehicles. Instructions were very easy to use and I was able to do it in 2 hours...mostly due to an external CD player in that particular year Chevy.

Pros: Good sound quality. User friendly. Bluetooth hooks up instantly! I have a 2015 Challenger and the bluetooth is slow to connect when I get in and very sluggish while using. This stereo is much faster...and for much cheaper!

Cons: Did not come with a faceplate case...thought that was weird.

I decided to wait a couple week before I wrote a review. I have to say that I am very impressed. I upgraded my dash speakers and added a sub and amp before installing this radio. After the radio install, everything sounded so much better. The presets on the equalizer are amazing and I love the speaker and subwoofer control. I also added in the steering wheel controls and the instal was a breeze. It's nice to retain factory controls with an aftermarket unit. I would also like to include the increased quality of the Bluetooth hands free calling and Siri hands free. No one has trouble hearing me and I can hear everyone else loud and clear. I strongly recommend this product, I even bought a second one for my wife's escape.

Pros: Amazing sound, steering wheel control ready, bluetooth hands free and Siri hands free are flawless! It's a great unit.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is when you connect you're iphone through usb, it automatically plays Pandora.

Great stereo, had everything I wanted and more. One feature I didn't expect was it actually can name the station, artist and song when listening to the radio, which I thought was pretty dang cool. Only thing I can complain about, is the controller doesn't look cool; which isn't a complaint worth actually complaining about. (But seriously, the controller looks like you could put it into a VCR and a movie would start playing.) Other than that, I love everything about it!

Pros: Bluetooth, smartphone compatible, satellite radio ready, crystal clear call quality.

Cons: VHS tape of a remote.

It Sounds as Bad as a Factory Radio

Steven D from Eureka, CA on 4/5/2016

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to replace a Kenwood Excellon KDC-X397 which did not have blue tooth capability for making and receiving phone calls. I emphasized to the Advisior that my priorities were top-line CD and FM performance. This deck was recommended to me. Unfortunately, it has the worse-sounding FM tuner I have ever heard. The CD performance of the unit is not much better. Even with a full equalizer to adjust the sound, it did not make much difference. I would equate this player as having sound quality similar to a factory stereo. The Blue Tooth seems to work well for telephone calls. The impression I get about this player is that if you main interests are streaming music from a smartphone or playing MP3s from an IPOD, it probably will work fine for most people. If you want high-quality audio, look for something else. I'm happy to say that I re-installed my Kenwood and my system sounds great again. Unless I can find a better player with Bluetooth capability, I will continue to do the right thing and simply pull off the road when I need to use my phone. I'm not giving up the Kenwood!!

Pros: It's cheap and has a well-functioning master control. The display can be set to show the clock at all times.

Cons: Terrible audio quality, similar to a factory radio. The worse-sounding FM tuner I have ever heard. The user manual could be better.

Pros: Very sharp looking Can match button & display color to dash lights Pandora compatible(I have iPhone 6s) Bluetooth for streaming and phone calls works well, "Hey Siri" works for hands free texting too

Cons: Pandora only works through USB on iOS devices, not Bluetooth like android devices.

So far so good. The stereo fit the opening quite easily and with the additional beauty kit looks quite professional. The sound is pretty good and the blue tooth and other features work nicely. The instructions for installing were pretty easy to follow although I would not disconnect the air conditioning cable. It can be installed with out it. The display is pretty clear most of the time, during bright days I have to turn the dimmer off to see it but that has been only a minor inconvenience.

Pros: Looks good installed, clear sound, and works as intended. The menu is intuitive enough I haven't read all of the use manual. The sound from my XM radio and bluetooth devices is great and clear. It worked flawlessly with Pandora on the first try.

Cons: Local radio stations are not as clear- I need to pull the plates off and make sure the antenna cord is all plugged in. I with the dimmer would just stay off and I didn't have to turn it off each time. And I don't like that if my bluetooth is on it automatically starts to play. Easy enough to fix by just turning off the bluetooth.

Great Stereo, Especially for the price.

I replaced my stock stereo with this one, and it works flawlessly. I wanted to upgrade because I hated not having an aux import or even access to the tape player to use that kind of an adapter (the cord gets pinched when the screen closes after inserting the tape). I was using an FM transmitter and I hated having that little bit of static on the "S" sounds of songs. Anyways, after about 3-4 hours I finally got it installed. Ran into a few installation problems, but overall it works out well. The reason for 4 stars on "Coolness Factor" is because I personally am a fan of the double din decks. However those gps units are significantly more costly than single dins.

Pros: Sound quality is awesome, connects to phone automatically and starts playing music when I start up my car, Siri integration is awesome, Mix function is cool when the lights flash with the bass.

Cons: The Mix option only works when connecting a phone through the USB. Not over bluetooth.

Pros: Bluetooth reconnects fast when you turn it on (so as soon as car starts, you start hearing exactly where you left off) Great sound with factory EQ, or you can tinker Easy install w/ supplied connectors

Cons: Manual from Pioneer could be clearer. Leaves a lot out esp re: settings. Display isn't very bright -- fades in sunlight. No way to "save" the OEM hidden 3.5 aux/USB built into vehicle-- I think this is true for almost any aftermarket car stereo, and it's an oversight

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Honestly, I'm no audiophile. I don't know that much about audio quality, but I wanted something that would allow me to listen to music through an aux chord and not stand out in my car (92 Honda Accord). Quite Frankly, the setup process went over pretty well. The Radio's systems are fairly self explanatory and mostly everything is self explainatory, except for the wiring harness. The only reason why I took off a star on my overall rating is because the instructions should be easily readable for anyone, even first time installers. That being said, the wiring was color coded correctly to the opposing harness I got to attach to my honda connector, issue is that I'm color blind. Trying to figure out those wires without an accurate sense of what color was what was very irritating. I checked the instructions to see if it had a wiring layout for the harness, but that layout was confusing and unusable. If you have to look up the wiring diagram on google then somebody is doing something wrong. Aside from that aspect it is a very satisfactory radio. Only other thing to note is that the Aux cable doesn't secure incredibly well, but I'm not sure if that's my cable or the radio's fault. Either way its not really that much of an issue.

Pros: Intuitive user interface Decent display color options Very little fluff in the interface Relatively low profile design

Cons: Installation instructions should be more user friendly Nobody cares for flashy lighting on a stereo

    Great bang for the buck!!!!!

David from Northern California on 1/10/2016

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First of all, this is a great company!!!! I am loosing count of how many stereos I have purchased from this company now and I am sure it won't be the last. As for the product, I am old enough to know how much it used to cost for a pioneer 8 track or cassette stereo radio back in the day. No blue tooth, Sirius who? Remote? Car phone? Microphone? Usb? Iphone what? Custom in dash kit and tech service delivered to your door for $114? You gotta be kidding me! I remember paying $600 for a 6 CD changer installed in the 90's! Ok so this is not even the best system offered by pioneer but it is good enough and packed with features.

Pros: Blue Tooth cell technology. Real condenser mic that doesn't sound like crud. Pioneer has one of the most user friendly remotes out there. Easy to visualize in your mind without looking at the buttons as long as you have it right side up. I don't use the Sirius radio because I already own so much music on my thumbnail USB that I could listen to music from the west to east coast and never hear the same song twice. I purchased this system specifically for the phone, USB, Radio, remote and EQ.

Cons: If you are looking for high out put it isn't here but this system is easily upgraded through jacks in the back. A built in mic would have been nice rather than a cabled mic woven under the dash but that isn't a complaint, I'm just spoiled. I have been use to layered digital menus for everything for quite sometime now: Digital recording & mixing etc. but I still like something tactile better. EQ that you can see and adjust right now without flipping through layers of digital back and forth.

This radio paired easily and quickly with my iPhone 6. It even made my stock Bose speakers sound wonderful (which I almost bought new ones due to poor sound quality and no bass, but I guess the stock radio was the weakest link there). I love the ever changing colors on the radio and the many ways from which I can play music from my phone. It's really nice that my boyfriend can play music from his android phone or his jumpdrive, too! I was weary at first but I am extremely glad and relieved that I bought this radio!!

Pros: Pairing, looks great, brings high sound quality, works well with my steering wheel controls, various ways to listen to my jams

Cons: Pandora app opens automatically, but that feature can be turned off. I'm an iHeart Radio kind of lady ;)

I wanted Bluetooth audio in my 1998 BMW M3. I was able to install the Pioneer HU quickly and easily. My biggest concern was matching the BMW amber color. The custom color feature allowed me to match it perfectly. The bluetooth audio works flawlessly. The sound improvement was stunning. Better bass, crisp highs and vocals seemed to stand-out more, and that was before I tweaked the audio settings.

Pros: Excellent audio. Display and button color matching. Bluetooth works flawlessly. Easy to install with kit provided.

Cons: Faceplate removal is awkward. You have to push button to eject and lightly lift bottom right corner. Too light or too firm and it won't detach.

I bought this unit myself so everything I say will be from my eperiences uses it. Sound quality: Annoying. If you try raising the volume you will surely go deaf. There is no direct way to turn down the treble. The unit itself makes a very hard to deal with sound because it makes the higher notes impossible to avoid. My factory radio does a better job with sound quality, it even has a treble reduced knob. I would think the goal of a good sounding speaker is how loud can I hear the music without going deaf from the high noises. I was very frusturated with the radio because of this. It has so many options but didnt take the time to give direct control over the treble. Everything else: The rest about the radio is great! Of course this doesnt really matter anymore because its sound is trash but I will take the time to say that it looks cool, its easy to install (if you know how to deal with wiring wires properly), and it fits great.

Cons: Sound. No way to turn up volume past a certain, which is way to low, point without being annoyed by its deafening treble.

Need I say more Pioneer and Crutchfield! The unit is so good I bought two off them! After installing it in my car and loving it so much I purchased another one for my son as a gift.

Pros: Crutchfield sales service and reputation! Crutchfield adding the install kit and assembly instructions for your vehicle with the purchase. A worry free purchase. Pioneer's quality, value and sound wrapped up in one package! Pioneer added the right features that people use and not useless fluff that looks impressive on paper.

Cons: The display writing was a little better quality. You can't use the units mic to make a call. To many buttons to push to get to some features. Lack of grip on the volume knob on the outside perimeter would help with ease of control. Not a problem if you have steering wheel controls.

This is an excellent head unit for the money. The internal amp sounds good powering 4 4x6 speakers in my 1990 GMC Truck. The 4V preouts send a very clean signal to the external amps. Front 1/8 jack and USB ports along with Bluetooth make connecting almost any device simple. This vehicle has a depth problem for aftermarket head units, may won't fit. This one did, so for those with limited space behind the mounting location, put this on your short list. There is optional SiriusXM, but I passed since this is more of a show truck than a daily driver, so no comment there. I haven't used the mic to make calls yet, so I also can't comment there. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

This is the second Pioneer DEH-X6700BS I own. I believe there's a newer version but this model worked out so well in my rugged Jeep, that now there's one in my Blazer. For both my vehicles, my primary objective is to have an iPhone hands free connection via blue tooth and this model does that superbly. I set it up once and that's it, connection is all automatic thereafter. No fussing around, I just start the car and drive while my iPhone connects for phone communications and any other iPhone GPS or audio I need. Plus, this model provides many other powerful audio features and options with such an ease of use. If I get another car, This will be the audio head I purchase for it and you can bet the purchase will be from Crutchfield because they also include the correct installation kit and convenient customer assistance from their data base of years of experience and insight. I always thought purchasing from Crutchfield would cost more but, I recently found out otherwise that it actually costs less with more gained. Many thanks go to Crutchfield Sales and Tech. Support for all of your help and follow up.

Pros: Wonderful Audio, easy setup for blue tooth hands free. Has an external mic with a long lead and the remote control makes adjustments easy while driving, especially over road bumps.

Cons: I have no complaints regarding the unit or it's setup and use. Though I feel, Pioneer could be a bit more direct in their wiring schematic with regards to the color coding. It's all in there though but, you have to decipher it in several areas. Also, I think Pioneer can build this unit smaller (depth wise) so that it fits more vehicles without changing or altering factory dash brackets and configurations.

Purchased this CD Receiver to replace stock radio in my 2007 Durango. Crutchfield support was awesome! It has been a long time since I swapped out a radio. When I was done I still had my steering wheel controls and the bluetooth worked well. After the initial install everything it took some time to get the settings right for using my iPhone. Pairing the phone was easy. But to use the audio (iTunes, Pandora, etc.) you have to turn on BTAUDIO. After I got everything set up I made my first bluetooth phone call. Call dialed and connected with no problem. Folks on the other end could hear me crystal clear but I couldn't hear them. Turns out that with this vehicle the wiring is slightly different. I found the solution on the web and Crutchfield confirmed that the white wires from the receiver go to the green wires on the interface and the gray wires from the receiver go to the purple wires on the interface. Took extra time to uninstall, rewire and reinstall but once it was back in it worked perfectly.

Pros: Great sound, relatively easy to install, works well with the Iphone

Cons: There is only one setting that displays the clock. I wish the clock was displayed at all times, but I just keep it on the one display and I can see the time just fine.

Easy to install in an Audi A3. I never knew I had a sub-woofer and the sound is amazing. The Crutchfield support staff is excellent. I soldered connections and used shrink wrap. My install could not have been done via the instructions that came with the adapters as the Crutchfield support told me the correct fuse to use in order to bring power to the unit from the fuse bay.

Pros: Sounds great and solved my Bluetooth needs. The phone mic was an unexpected bonus. I hang the mic somewhere in front of me and it works great when making calls.

Pros: The System Sounds Great with my Stock Ford Crown Victoria Speakers.

I put this radio in my 1999 Chevy Silverado. Should have done it a long time ago. Easy install and sounds great. Put in Kicker speakers with it. A few people complained about the display brightness and while it is a little dim when it is sunny out, still readable however, it should not deter you from buying this radio.

Pros: Easy install. Ease of operation. Sounds great. Looks cool with the different colors.

Cons: If anything the display is a little dim in the sunlight but not enough the even really call it a "con". Only if I had to nit-pick.

The only thing missing from this unit is a screen to watch videos on: But if you are interested in anything audio related (which is probably why you are researching this unit) then this has everything you need. Aux, USB, Bluetooth, and comes with a mini microphone. The only gripe that I have with it is all the steps required to get the Bluetooth to connect- it should be easier than it actually is. Everything else is fantastic. Sound quality, settings, illumination. Great price too! Love Crutchfield's kits too = easy

Installed this little over a week ago with no problems. Was able to find some vids on youtube to install mic under headliner and side panels. I have used an Iphone and USB 64Gb Micro drive to play music and audio books. Tuner picks up our rual radio station fine. Display can be set for just about any color as well as the face plate, or you can leave it to rotate through the colors. According to manual, only 2 Bluetooth devices can be managed without issues, will handle a 3rd, but may have issues. I have not confermed this as of yet. Siri does works well as you use the MF Dial to activate.

Pros: Everyting that it avertised works well and I didn't need to read the manual to learn how to use it. Kids love the Color changing aspects. I love the way everyting works.

Cons: Detachable face is dificult to remove in my install. The Dash kit is a little too snug. But that must be my doing.

All of my desired features for a relatively low cost. Only drawback is that I wish the display screen was a bit more legible in bright daylight. I do think the Display Information options could be more robust (i.e. When listening to the radio I want the option to see the radio broadcast information at least once while being able to see the clock. It seems that when the Broadcast Info is selected, you can't see the clock. You can only see the clock when you have the FM Frequency/Signal strength options are selected).

Pros: Great sound and simple user interface.

I bought this receiver to replace a 14+ year factory unit. I should have replaced it far sooner. It's so nice to be able to have integrated Pandora and Bluetooth for phone. The call quality is great. Although I know some people need a long wire for mic, I wish there was some way to adjust the length -- perhaps through a removable extension? I know the removable face is limiting, but it might be nice to have connector in front of the unit, instead of the rear. Color adjustment is nice, in that I matched the existing color of my dashboard colors well. I don't like the font of the screen, but it does provide some good info on what's playing. Pandora doesn't seem to like "thumbing down" while your Android phone's screen is locked.

    Pros: Pandora, Bluetooth, personalization

Cons: Microphone wire length/connector in back, lots of wiring connectors for first-time/novice installer

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A really nice head unit. Replaced factory stereo in my 94 Silverado standard cab - what a difference. Paired it with 2 way 4x6 Pioneers in the dash, factory pillar speakers behind and an SSL LoPro8 sub under the passenger seat. Yes, I'll replace the pillar speakers, but this unit really made them sound MUCH cleaner and they're much less of an "ear sore" than I thought they'd be. Head unit has plenty of power, good granular controls, sounds nice and clean, and as a plus, it's a nice looking head unit as well. Had to get rid of the annoying color changes for the lighting and the display is a little hard to see in the brightness of daylight, but other than that no complaints at all. Unfortunately, the only place in the truck to install it necessitates the use of the remote for most of the fiddling about with it, but remote is easy, intuitive and has plenty of functionality, so that's really not an issue. So, 5 star for value, sound quality and ease of use. 4 star for "coolness" because it's really just a basic single-din unit, functional but not flashy (which is what I wanted). It's only been installed for a week, so I'm not sure about build quality, but I've used Pioneer head units for over 25 years and they've ALWAYS been well built. They've never let me down - thus the 5 stars.

Pros: Clarity of sound; audio customization; features (especially sub controls and HPF); ease of use; intuitive and easy to use remote; low-level RCA plugs in the back for the sub.

Cons: Thus far, none to speak of other than the aforementioned random color changes that are there by default. Once my choice of color was locked in, that ceased to be an issue. Display kind of dim during the brightness of day. Manual is vague.

I like the functionality of this deck. I don't use Apple products but the USB port supports my 32 gig. card. I wish it had an alphabetical folder search function built in but it does not unless you use an I-Phone. The displace is very bright in the dim mode while using the manual dim. I wished it dimmed with the dimmer switch like the other lights in my truck. Navigating the setup menu takes some getting used to a and the user guide leave a lot to be desired but after playing with it you kind of catch on. Over all worth the investment

I am very satisfied, once again, by this Pioneer head unit. Every time I purchase Pioneer, I am impressed by the number of options available across their model range. This particular unit has everything I wanted: built-in Bluetooth, mp3 connectivity, clear graphics, fantastic EQ (as usual), and some new features. One of the best new features is the automatic Bluetooth pairing function. My other vehicle has Bluetooth as well, but like many others, it requires clunky searches and codes to pair with phones, and it only allows one phone at a time. This unit performed flawlessly when connecting iPhones via the Pioneer USB cable; two phones were connected, and within seconds the unit had downloaded phonebooks and call history without prompting any input from the user. Did I mention you can have two phones connected simultaneously?? Thank you so much Pioneer! I'm also stoked about the rotating color; very refreshing one the eyes not to stare at the same color all the time. Thank you for continuing to include a remote with Pioneer head unit as well!! Overall, the unit was a snap to install too! Enough said. The only gripe I have is the front USB connection. I have never liked this feature on any head unit. My older Pioneer head units all had rear connections, and I really appreciated being able to hide my iPod in the glove compartment, away from prying eyes. This front connection basically screams to thieves; "Hey, come steal my gear because it's half-way decent

I've had this receiver for about a week now and absolutely love it. Given the price, I'm pretty away by all it can do. And the hands free is a nice feature, especially with Siri. I gave it a 4 star only because I'm not overly impressed with the built-in EQ. It's pretty thin and the sound sculpting isn't exceptionally accurate. But, use one of their presets, make some minor tweaks, adjust your sub, and you're good to go with decent sound quality. One other thing, I've read were some were complaining about brightness of the screen. The unit has enough tweaks between screen color and brightness, that I had no problem finding a setting that works fine during the day.

Pros: Too many to mention. You get a lot for your money.

I've had this installed for about a week. Installation instructions not well written not really showing the necessity or how to remove the trim plate. After installing this radio during the day, I had to wait until night-time to set up the radio because the display is really washed out in bright sunlight. I set the display brightness to the highest setting and it's still difficult to read during sunlight. The radio sounds fine and plays the music from my Iphone though I haven't found the way to display the playlists on the radio from my Iphone. The Albums display but not playlists. Directions on how to set up display brightness, colors, and other things really aren't good. How about some videos to show the setups?

Pros: Radio and bluetooth music sounds great. Haven't used a CD yet or a USB flash drive. Iphone phone calls have quality sound-Microphone works great.

Cons: At this point in time, I still need to control playlists through the Iphone. All directions are terrible. Display lighting is too dim during bright sunlight hours. Location of main dial seems awkward because, when I use my hand to press or turn the dial, my hand blocks the display so I can't see what I've dialed up and since the display moves so quickly from option to option, it's easy to miss the option you want to choose.

Display could be brighter. I didn't catch this when I bought it. It will play MP3, WMA, and WAV files, but not play ACC or M4A. Some Pioneer units will. What that means, if you download music on a thumb drive from iTunes, it will not play. If you are computer smart, you can transpose ACC files to MP3, but it isn't easy. If you have over 1,000 songs like me, it would take a long time.

Pros: Great sound. Links up easily with Bluetooth.

Cons: Can't play music on thumb drive from iTunes. If you need to turn the volume down and accidentally push the volume knob in, it will go to menu and render the knob useless. Very annoying.

This unit performed well straight out of the box. Easy installation. Functions great. Two small issues that have already been listed in other reviews. Equalization settings do take a bit of getting used to. Once set up function well. Also clock display. If you leave clock on permanently, you miss other displayed data. Not a biggie but there is no other clock in Wrangler.

Pros: Features. Love Bluetooth phone and audio. Cool looking and nice sound when paired with good speakers.

We are sold on Pioneer radios, have installed 2 now in 2 cars and know it will be the brand whenever we might need another. Sounds great! Once we got the mess of the last radios wiring out of the way, this installed easily and my son says the bass is awesome. Love the wireless speaker and the light show/options are always fun. I think the 'ease of use' on this model is great too - easier to intuitively find your way around that some earlier models. Recommended.

Great receiver, looks cool. Displays lots of information and flips through all info (album, title, artist, etc). Not a lot of preset equalizers, menu is slightly difficult to get through, takes some getting used to. Bluetooth connects immediately to my phone when i turn on the car. There has been times where it drops out for half a second or plays a loud buzzing noise for half a second. I'm not sure if this is a connection issue with the wires or with the bluetooth itself, but it hasn't seemed to do it when I'm using the SiriusXM Radio. So it must be a bluetooth connectivity issue. Had to turn down the bass settings as it was rattling my speakers when first connected. This did not happen on my old receiver with bass turned up.

Pros: bluetooth, radio, aux, usb, cd. it's got it all.

Cons: small menu screen with a lot of options, hard to get through. seems to have a bluetooth connection issue.

Great stereo super easy to install, i have a jeep so I had to run a wire to the fusebox. I just used the cig lighter fuse since it turns off with the vehicle. i was a little confused by the faceplate. Just make sure you use the metal casing they gave you and not hte plastic tabs. This is my first time installing one so that might be common knowledge. I love the pandora integration, you don't need to mess with your phone to change the pandora station or song! Reall a solid stereo for the price. Also bluetooth was not connecting to my phone, I had to go into the bluetooth settings on the stereo and turn bluetooth connect to "off" from auto.

    Mark from Maine on 5/6/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's a nice unit that's easy to install and produces good sound, although not as good as the OEM cassette player it replaced in my 1996 VW Passat. Still, the functions on it are nice and the handsfree works well and has nice sound. I have found that you have to speak in a lower tone of voice for it to sound clearer to whom you're speaking. The main issues I have is the side lights do not dim nearly enough so they're slightly distracting at night. I do like that I can adjust the colors to match the rest of my interior lights. The volume knob is the real trouble. Unless you're gingerly with it, you'll put it into the mode setting rather than adjust the volume. It's quite annoying and the reason I gave it only 3 stars for "ease of use". It automatically pairs with my iPhone every time I get into the car, which is nice. I use the handsfree function all the time.

Pros: Handsfree functions with good clarity. Ability to pair to 3 devices simultaneously. Nice sound. Ample controls for external devices

Cons: Doesn't pick up as many stations as the radio I replaced. The stupid volume/menu knob. Someone should be fired for that idea or at least make it harder to get into the menu, like 'hold the button for 2 seconds' instead of just press it momentarily. Side lights that don't dim enough. External device buttons aren't illuminated, so it's hard to tell where the pause button is at night when I'm listening to music off the iPod. Only the numbers indicating presets are illuminated.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For starters, I am NOT an audiophile. I probably couldn't tell the difference between a $129 stereo and a $629 dollar stereo so take my sound quality rating for what it's worth. I bought the radio because I wanted an inexpensive radio that had Bluetooth. Period. I have a Nissan Frontier that a fifth grader could break into if he wanted so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Based on the overall ratings of this radio by other buyers, I gave it a try. Granted it's only been in my car for 48 hours but so far I'm more than happy. I have always paid for installation in the past but this time I decided to try it myself. What did I have to lose? Well I got it installed all by myself (50's something woman)!! Honestly the hardest part for me was crimping the wire connector caps. I just don't have the strength that a man does, so a few of them came off when I was putting the radio in the car. Very frustrating, but that's no one's fault. I had no issues with setting up the radio. There's a lot of bells and whistles here so just give yourself 30-60 minutes dedicated to going over the manual page by page. Once you've done that I think you may have to go back and refresh yourself on a function or two that you don't use a lot, but that should be it. I like to listen to podcasts and audio books while I drive and this radio makes it sooooooo simple. It connects to my Samsung Galaxy 5 less than 5 seconds after entering the car! No more cords and cables.

Pros: Connects to my phone almost instantly, sound quality is good, installed easily, just like they said it would.

Cons: If I had to find one it would be the brightness of the display but that seems to be a complaint on most or all radios in this price range.

Pros: Great sound. Easy to install and wire. The included installation hardware made install even easier! so far, love the sound!! Just gotta learn how some of the other functions work, or how to get them to work!

Cons: Having trouble with Bluetooth phone calls. Phone connects, I can be heard, but can NOT hear person on the other end. iPod not working. After I hooked up an amplifier, iPod no longer plays. Worked fine before though. Going to re sync and see if that helps. Minor, not absolutely necessary to have, but it's nice to have available.

I got this head unit since I have always used pioneer, this is now my 4th pioneer head unit installed. It basically the updated and few extra features of the one I put in my truck years ago. I enjoy the features and options, just have to add in the steering wheel control one day. I wish the dimming feature was a button on the remote, so I could quickly adjust from day to night settings. But otherwise it's been great, as always.

Pros: Sound quality is great Features are great I already had other pioneers so using it was fairly natural

Cons: Dimming button not on the remote, and once it's in dim mode for night, if its that way in the day, in sunlight, it's tough to see and change back to bright for day. Not a huge deal once you have your settings done and you use the aux in like I do... 90% of the time I don't even look at the screen. And I have a Nokia Windows phone (before you laugh, mine has the 41Mp camera... so it's killer). Why is it all these companies only support Apple, and kinda Android... nothing for the Windows...

This was a great buy. I really needed one for my truck and this was perfect. All the features are great except that I can't playback once I pause with use of the USB port. But I use Bluetooth so that's not much of a problem. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable system to listen to their jams.

Pros: It has everything I need and more. Bluetooth, hands free calling, great eq settings, USB and AUX port in front, and it sounds great.

Cons: I'm not sure if it's just a slight defect in the system I got but I can't play the song once I've paused it if I'm using the USB to play music with my iphone 4s. And I've heard a lot of hype about the mixtrax but I'm not a fan of how it works simply because I hate when a song doesn't finish if I'm actually listening and/or singing. But I can shut that off so it's okay. Great system though.

Overall a perfect head unit for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I needed a Bluetooth capable single-DIN with a detachable faceplate and this was the best value and highest rated product I could find. Install was extremely easy and everything works like a charm. The bluetooth has no issues connecting to my iPhone, it plays music from any app I want to use and the call quality is outstanding (even the microphone included is great and comes out clear on the other end). Has a great mixer/equalizer and the speaker outputs are easily adjustable. The subwoofer setup is far beyond what I expected and it is easy to tweak everything from the menu. One of the best head units I have bought. Crutchfield, as usual, gave me ALL of the instructions and hardware necessary. A+ for them yet again.

Wow, this radio blew me away. I tend to use it to sync my android and play pandora through it. I haven't tried the auxilary (no need) or anything else. Call quality is Very good. I was surprised as I've heard plenty of other cars and thought "Why even use it?". I tend to just keep it on the multi-color feature and I really like it. My fiance really likes it as well. Plus, how can you beat this price?! Way less than I was expecting to pay.

Pros: Good sound, awesome bluetooth features, amazing price, looks really cool (not like some cheesy aftermarket radio), I'm very glad I purchased it.

Cons: Sometimes the bluetooth sync doesn't seem to happen till I go through the modes and back to blue tooth audio (very simple, just hit source till you get there). But this may be my phone, I'm not sure which one it is, but it isn't that big of a deal. Also it may be me and which order I turn them on in.

So far so good, well constructed, lighting options available allow it to blend with the rest of car interior, like the simplified 5 band equalizer as opposed to the older models, i-phone pairing and control is very nice, plenty of length for the hands-free mic. Still in the process of building the rest of the system, but it should be a solid foundation to build on with the 4 channel preouts and separate sub preout and control. Also nice having auto-dimmer connected for night driving. I am in the process of restoring a 95 Honda Prelude si I bought, and this is a great addition and blends in very well with the interior. Also can't beat the fast shipping, ease of ordering and free harness adaptor and install kit. Thank you Crutchfield and Pioneer.

This is the radio to get if you want a really great upgrade from the stock radio your car has. I already had upgraded speakers in my car, but the stock radio didn't push out enough power to allow the speakers to be used to their full potential. This new radio, however, really does its job. It was super easy installing it, and the wiring harness and equipment that Crutchfield provided allowed installation to be a breeze. Their customer support was very helpful too, which really streamlined the install.

Pros: Easy to install, instructions aren't hard, good quality unit.

Cons: Display seems a little slow when it is very cold out, bluetooth skips sometimes although it might be an android issue.

DEH-X6700BS Looks great in my 99 F150 Lariat. and sounds very good with a little time spent with the EQ. EQ 5 band. not bad. I was really wanting a 10 band that the sony's have as well as some other stats the sony MEX-n5000bt listed, how ever reading reviews ocd style led me to this head unit over the sony and the Kenwood 558u. reliability and lack of problems People were discussing in the forums were the deciding factors. I knew the sound quality would be there for all 3. This Unit Sounds great!!! I am still learning to work my way around the UI, but that is just learning a new product.

Pros: SOUND!!! amazing a 5 band Eq can tweak so much. "SLA" function use this to level out the volume difference between different sources. set for each source.(this will make you happier. Bluetooth!!! no more screaming at my Iphone set to speaker. I have Loud exhaust, on a 16 year old truck with wind noise at highway speeds. Varoooomm!!!! I can hear and be heard crystal clear. unless the other person is on speaker phone. but even thats not too bad. and not my problem Everything is good!!!

Cons: None really. new product learning curve. Get one. Play with it. make it sound like you want it to.

This was my first order from Crutchfield. I am now a life time customer. I received my stereo and speakers with all the hardware to install them. It was great to have all the parts to install them. It made for a quick and painless install. It took more time in pull the door panels then it did to install the speakers. With the free parts Crutchfield gave me for the install. Great customer service.

Pros: This pioneer sterei is a good product if your looking for a decent basic stereo. The speakers sound crisp and clean.

Cons: I have no cons with the products.

The radio itself is awesome, don't hesitate to buy this model. It installed and looks really nice in an 04 Chevy Tahoe. The only downside was the lackluster support from Crutchfield. After reading lots of reviews about people on Crutchfield gushing about stellar customer support, I was pretty disappointed. The stereo shipped quickly but without any of the mounting hardware or dash kit. This was my first install so I spent several hours trying to figure out what went where. After calling customer service, they sent the kit out but that put the install off even further and they sent out a crappy double din kit that looked terrible. I ended up having to buy another dash kit so that it didnt look like a total DIY install. Two calls in for help and I may have mentioned several times to my wife that I should have just had the local shop do everything and be done with it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this head unit to replace the stock unit in the wife's Honda Fit to add Bluetooth compatibility to the car. Installation was easy with Crutchfield-supplied dash center plastic and harnesses. Bluetooth works well with her Motorola Droid something something phone. Bluetooth audio streaming from both Droid phone and iPod worked seamlessly. The only downside, and it's a big one, is that the radio reception is not good at all. We can pull in pretty much any Washington DC station with other cars, and the Fit's stock stereo, but reception is hit-and-miss with the Pioneer deck. I had to take the dash apart just to make sure I hooked the antenna to the adapter wire and that said adapter wire was plugged into the back of the head unit. It is, but it's not helping. Since the wife depends on the DC news stations for traffic reports to help her decide on her route to work every day, this is a pretty big detriment to the Pioneer. We're not disappointed to the point where we're considering putting the stock radio back in and sending the Pioneer back, but we're considering it.

Pros: Ease of installation, ease of pairing via Bluetooth, sound quality of Bluetooth/AUX connected devices

    Cons: Radio reception

This is a well built stereo. The display is a little underwhelming. Sound quality is better than the stock unit that this replaced. The Bluetooth works well through my iPhone. It loses the Bluetooth connection about once a week and needs to be synced. I have used it quite a bit to make phone calls & read/send text messages and it works great with the Bluetooth microphone that was provided. The buttons on the display are a little too small for unsteady fingers on a bumpy road. The installation equipment provided by Crutchfield made the install very easy. Overall, this stereo seems like a really good value.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This stereo is definitely worth the price. Installation was easy enough as far as car stereos go- Went into a Bronco II. The setup is relatively simple for today's stereos but not compared to years ago. I find it easy to scroll through the source-radio, usb, cd, etc. I bought it for the front usb and front auxiliary as well as having Bluetooth capabilities. I also have a Kenwood KDC -X497 in a similar price range that is an HD stereo in a same year Bronco II. The Pioneer pulls in stations so much better that there is no comparison between the two. I wish I had the money to get all the same features in this stereo made by Pioneer plus the HD radio but alas that price jump was great.

Pros: Great AM/FM reception. Easy to setup and use. Probably the best for the money.

Cons: Like almost all stereos these days is the shiny face plates that make seeing the display very difficult.

I bought this as a Christmas gift to use in a 2004 Subaru. Top priorities were being able to make hands free phone calls and stream music through our cell phones. I scoured the Internet and blogs for reviews of various aftermarket stereos, and this model really stood out among its peers. It was a great value to begin with, and buying from Crutchfield we got installation equipment/cables thrown in for free. Couldn't be happier with our decision.

Pros: In addition to making/receiving hands free calls and streaming music through our phones, this unit also includes a CD player. Many after market models are dropping CD players, but we still find ourselves needing to play CDs from time to time so this was a welcome addition for our use.

Cons: Display can be tough to read in direct sunlight.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I believe this is my third Pioneer head unit from Crutchfield for my 14 year old Tundra. I've never had an issue from any of these, just upgrading for more features. With Bluetooth mobile phones, I decided to give the hands-free experience to myself. The install was a breeze. I only needed to change the pioneer side of the wire harness since they've changed the pin locations which plug into the unit. Since this unit has more options, it takes a little trial and error to get everything set up to my expectations. My S4 works perfectly with this unit, lights flash when there's an incoming call. The phone sound quality is perfect. Finally, this unit dims down when I turn on the lights, and it does so to a better level than my old P4900IB.

Pros: Illumination is great and has a wide difference between daytime and night driving. Read the manual AND use Pioneers knowledge base for easy setup.

    Cons: None that I've found.

Great head unit for the money. Sound is pretty good. The unit has plenty of options to tweak the sound most important to me is the 5 band equalizer. I know that there are units that offer more but this is for my wife's car and for the application that is good enough. Its built strong. the volume knob is the only thing that feels flimsy but no big deal. The wife loves the ability to change the colors so that is a plus for aesthetics. overall it is a pretty good radio for the price and the installation was a breeze thanks to the instructions included from crutchfield.

this is for my girls' Equinox so all i know about it is they love it. sounds great and they love the iphone compatibility and handsfree calling and texting. a quick note about wiring: The staff is very knowledgeable thank god bc the instructions are terrible! the manual is so detailed and so confusing it was hard to figure out. The wiring wasa little confusing. everything matched up except the blue wires. We researched and found the solid blue wire was for a power antenna which we don't have so we didn't connect to anything. the blue/white wire came with a piece of tape on the end which said for the remote so we did not take it off and figured it was a wireless antenna or something. After all was hooked up the radio had no sound so i called, the tech said to connect the blue wire to the blue/white wire. like how were we supposed to figure that out? also we bought the vehicle used and it already had an aftermarket radio in it. we did not buy the extra wiring harness to keep the door chimes working bc they weren't working when we bought it. other owner apparently did not buy the wiring harness either. but all in all a great buy!

Purchased this for my Daughter's 2007 BMW X3. Wanted to provide hands-free calling and bluetooth streaming. Upgrading the radio was an added benefit. Much better than expected; installation was not too bad. Had to remove the glove box to get better access to fusebox; 6 screws and done. The dash adapter looks great, nice quality and blends in well. The bluetooth is amazing, SIRI works great, bluetooth audio stream's sound quality is excellent with stock speakers. I was able to mount the mic on the inside of the gauge cluster cover - hardly notice and a direct line with the driver making for clear voice on calls. Thank you to Crutchfield support; was not getting audio at first. Manual was not too clear on the radio's blue wire which is for radio built-in AMP power. connected to blue power antenna wire from car harness and SOUND.

Pros: Bluetooth excellent SIRI integration choice of colors on the display radio sounds much better than stock radio adapter kit perfect

Cons: screen glare radio sits a 1/4 too far into the dash adapter - can't use display eject without a pen or car key - radio buttons a bit of a challenge too because of the dash adapter.

Pros: Easy of use and great sounds . And the multi color and programable display is great . Easy to see and program. Pairing is a snap !!

Cons: The wiring harness that CRUTCHFIELD supplies is nice . But the one supplied by PIONEER could use an upgrade , the wires are WAY to small of a gauge. Which makes stripping a real pain , increasing the gauge would make this a easier task .

I purchased this for 2 reasons, better sound then my factory stereo and for the Bluetooth for my phone. The sound is great, I am still trying to figure out the buttons and what-nots. Bluetooth paired my Galaxy phone quite easily and seems to work well so far. My factory speakers sound way better with this stereo over the jeep factory one. The detachable face was needed as well and it seems to work well also. I have to say Crutchfield was great at answering any questions we had during the install. I will purchase from them again in the future.

    Pros: USB, Bluetooth, Wireless MIC

Cons: Phone connection is a little weak at times.

Adrian R. from St. Paul, MN on 10/9/2014

Just a great receiver! Everything about it is simply wonderful ! I was really nervous installing it on my own but Crutchfield is just awesome! Took me a couple of hours and a few calls to their awesome tech support (just making sure I was doing the right thing) and this thing ROCKS in my car now! Bluetooth, separate mic (which IS what you'd want), hands free calls, Siri, compatible with my iPhone 5s, cool color combinations , great sound and just a handful of great features. Everything works. It's sublime. Nice button layout. Getting used to everything should take about a day or so. Really cool. Amazing how far technology has gotten these days -- price is simply mind-blowing! I should mention that I opted for a unit that was a perfect fit for my car. This thing turned right on after connecting everything and the fit was spot on. I'm still amazed that I was able to do this perfectly after taking one single shot at it. Kudos to everyone at Crutchfield! Great company!

Pros: Everything. Really nice unit. Great sound and TONS of cool features. Worth every penny and then some! Install is a breeze and everything needed comes in one package.

Cons: Nothing. Unless it dies on me suddenly which can happen with any unit. Made in Thailand (NOT in China). I trust in Pioneer. They build great audio equipment.

    very nice

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth 3.0: The DEH-X6700BS is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 3.0), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.3 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.5 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer DEH-X6700BS.

SPP + USB Pairing w/ Guest Mode: With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the DEH-X6700BS without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings (your phone must also support SSP). Up to 3 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be paired to this head unit.

    • USB Pairing for iPhone: You can also pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) by simply connecting it to the Pioneer head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display.
    • Guest Mode: "Guest Mode" allows you to add and replace a 3rd mobile device instantly to the receiver; Guest Mode is a great feature for a family vehicle with multiple drivers or a driver with multiple devices because it allows users to pair and delete devices easily without a lengthy registration or deletion process.
    • Dual Phone Connect: Once the pairing process is complete, the head unit will automatically connect two phones when in the vehicle to make and receive calls and stream music from both mobile devices.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The DEH-X6700BS supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. And, thanks to the latest Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.6) with wideband speech capability, the DEH-X6700BS provides more natural sound quality and details during wireless calls. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The DEH-X6700BS allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the DEH-X6700BS, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

    • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Presets: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
    • Call Log: The most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.
    • Voice Dialing (Siri only): When paired and connected with an iPhone 4S or later via Bluetooth, the Pioneer head unit has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. You'll be able to dial a phone number or contact via voice command.
Note: The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth). The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone.

Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Advanced Music Navigation): The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The head unit can stream music stored on your Bluetooth enabled device or music apps you have downloaded on your device. In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the DEH-X6700BS lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. (AVRCP 1.4+ phones only). The head unit will also display your music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (app must also support). When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call.

Siri Eyes-Free Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone 4S with Siri via Bluetooth (not USB), the Pioneer DEH-X6700BS has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press and hold head unit's phone key to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice is heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the DEH-X6700BS and its microphone. You can even ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's front-panel LCD will only display hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Pioneer CD receiver; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

    Disc & USB (Android) Playback

Compatible Discs: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS CD receiver supports playback of CD-Audio, CD-R, and CD-RW discs. This unit can play MP3, WMA, and WAV files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs

Front-Panel USB Input (Android Compliant): The CD receiver's front-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) or USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) compliant device; such as your Android smartphone or USB thumbdrive. The USB port enables audio playback & control of MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files stored on your portable USB MSC/MTP device through the Pioneer DEH-X6700BS. Basic playback controls included Play/Pause, FW/RW, Previous/Next Track, and Random/Repeat. Song/artist information such as track, artist, and album name will also be displayed on the head unit. In addition, USB devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (1A) and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

    • MSC Playback: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS's USB port enables playback & control of MP3/WMA/WAV music files stored on your portable USB MSC device, like your older Android smartphone (w/ OS 2.2+ [Froyo/Gingerbread]) or USB thumbdrive device (up to 32GB) through the head unit.
    • MTP Playback: The DEH-X6700BS's USB port also enables playback & control of stored MP3/WMA music files on your portable USB MTP device, like your newer Android smartphone (w/ OS 4.0+ [Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean/KitKat]) through the Pioneer head unit.
Note: You cannot use your Android smartphone's touchscreen to control music playback and you cannot select music apps from your smartphone for playback. However, you can continue to listen to stored music on your Android smartphone through the head unit while you check your Calendar, Facebook, Texts, etc on your phone.

MP3/WMA/WAV Playback: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS supports the following types of MP3/WMA/WAV files recorded onto CD-R/RW disc or loaded onto a USB MSC/MTP device.

    Media Type CD-R/RW USB (MSC/MTP)
File System ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, Romeo, Long file name FAT 12/16/32

Tags ID3 tags (ver.1.0/1.1/2.2/2.3/2.4), WMA tags

File/Track Name List: The Name List feature displays a list of MP3/WMA albums and tracks on a loaded CD or connected USB device, so you can easily access your music. Music files are listed first by Artist name, then by Album name, and finally by Song title.

Song/Artist Information: During MP3/WMA playback, the unit displays any recorded ID3 Tag (ver. 1.x/2.x) and WMA Tag information; including artist, song, and album name.

Playback Controls: The Pioneer CD receiver provides basic operations like Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Rewind, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat/Random for disc and USB device playback. When a compatible Android smartphone is connected, the head unit will control music playback functions; you will not be able to control your music from the smartphone.

Off Insert/Eject + Auto Off Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback. When you eject a disc, the unit will automatically power off (unless you switch sources before ejecting the disc).

Installation Angle: Optimum CD playback performance is obtained when the unit is installed at an angle of less than 60-degrees.

    iPhone/Aux Integration

iPod Direct Connection: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your Lightning or 30-pin dock connector iPod/iPhone to the head unit. The DEH-X6700BS supports audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of your compatible Apple device.

    • Lightning Connector: If you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the Lightning-connector, you can use Pioneer's Lightning-to-USB cable (130CDIU52, sold separately) or the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the DEH-X6700BS.
    • 30-Pin Dock Connector: If you have an older iPod/iPhone with a 30-pin dock connector, you can use Pioneer's dock connector-to-USB cable (130CDIU51, sold separately) or the dock connector-to-USB cable that comes with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the DEH-X6700BS.
Note: The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).

iPod Audio Playback w/ DAC Bypass: The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's stored music to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 94dB. The Pioneer head unit supports audio playback of stored music, podcasts, audiobooks, and music apps on your iPod or iPhone. You can choose to operate your iPod/iPhone through the head unit's front-panel controls, from its clickwheel/touchscreen, or via a streamed app from your iPhone.

    • Head Unit Mode: From the head unit, you can browse your iPod/iPhone's music library by Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Playlist, Composer, Podcast, or Audiobook. Once you have selected a category, you can search each category alphabetically. In addition, the head unit offers Link Play, which allows you to play songs related to the currently playing song. Link Play lets the head unit create an album list of the currently playing artist, a song list of the currently playing album, or an album list of the currently playing genre. You can also select Random & Repeat functions for a certain song or specific folder. The head unit will display your iPod/iPhone's stored music file information; including Track number, Elapsed playing time, and Song/Artist/Album name. Apple devices w/ iOS 6.0+ will stay unlocked, so you can access music apps; other iPod/iPhone device's clickwheel or touchscreen will be locked during this mode.
    • iPod Mode: In iPod mode, you can navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen, while still being able to view song/artist information and control basic playback functions from the head unit. You will not be able to browse your iPod/iPhone's music by category from the head unit or use Link Play in this mode.
    • App Mode: App mode lets you listen to your favorite music apps from your iPhone (iOS 5.0+) through the Pioneer head unit and your vehicle's speakers. Once you have selected the music app from your iPhone, you'll be able to listen to music from that app through the Pioneer head unit, view song/artist information on the head unit's LCD, and operate basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track from the head unit's front-panel control. Not all apps will be compatible with App Mode.

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-X6700BS is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player.

    AM/FM+Pandora+SiriusXM Radio

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

    • RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.
    • BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.
    • Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

Pandora Internet Radio: The free Pandora App (either from iTunes Apps/Google Play) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer DEH-X6700BS using your USB-connected Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) or Bluetooth paired Android smartphone. Your Apple iPhone must be connected to the DEH-X6700BS via the CD-IU51/CD-IU52 Pioneer iPod connector cable or the connector-cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Pioneer receiver. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. The DEH-X6700BS provides control over the Pandora music service and displays Artist, Album, and Song information.

    • Station List: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Shuffle Station List: You can listen to songs played randomly from various stations within your Station List.
    • New Stations + Delete: New stations can be created based on the current songs or artists playing. You can also delete a station from your Pandora station list.
    • Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
    • Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
    • Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.

Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.

SiriusXM Ready: The Pioneer CD receiver is SiriusXM 3.0 Ready, so you can listen to commercial-free music, all your favorite sports, exclusive talk and entertainment, comedy, news, traffic, weather, and more. Simply connect the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (220SXV200 or 220SXV300, both sold separately) to the dedicated SiriusXM port on the rear of the head unit and enjoy satellite radio without additional translators or cables. With the SiriusXM Connect tuner you'll have access to more than 175 channels of exclusive programming directly from SiriusXM; check out the most popular SiriusXM subscription packages here. Additional features include:

    • Channel/Category Lists: The Channel List displays a list of all available channels. The Category List displays all available categories and stations within those categories.
    • Song/Artist Information: Displayed Information such as Channel Name, Artist Name, & Song Title can be viewed on the head unit's LCD.
    • Instant Replay & Category Scan: The SiriusXM Instant Replay function lets you pause, rewind, and replay up to 60 minutes of live content from the station that you are currently listening to. During Category Scan, the live broadcast for each channel in the current category plays for six seconds at a time.
    • Presets: You can store up to 18 SiriusXM Satellite Radio Station Presets with special tuning features.
      • TuneStart: TuneStart automatically start songs from the beginning when you tune to one of your preset music channels stored on the current band of presets.
      • TuneScan: TuneScan lets you scan through short previews of songs you may have missed on music channels stored on the current band of presets.
      • TuneMix (SXV300 tuner only): Create a music channel that's a blend of songs made up from the music channels stored on the current band of presets.
    • Parental Control: The SiriusXM Parental Control feature allows you to control access to channels that you consider inappropriate for younger listeners. When enabled, The Parental Control feature requires you to enter a 4-digit passcode to tune to the locked channels.
Note: A separate SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription is required (operates on the XM Network). However, you can easily add this SiriusXM tuner to an existing Sirius or XM account for a Multi-Radio Discount Plan.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-X6700BS is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the DEH-X6700BS are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels
Note: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

6ch/2V Preamp Outputs w/ Sub Control: The Pioneer DEH-X8700BS features three pair of 2.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The unit's front and rear preamp output can be faded (front/rear), while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. When using the subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-6/-12dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

Equalizer: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -6dB or 12dB.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB thumbdrive, Android smartphone, iPod/iPhone, or Bluetooth device. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Audio Level Settings: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS CD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to tailor the bass, treble, and volume level to your preference.

    • Bass Boost The DEH-X6700BS features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.
    • Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.
    • Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone, and is not supported by USB MTP devices. The Advanced Sound Retriever function is disabled when MIXTRAX is activated.

    Display Features

Detachable Face Security: The Pioneer DEH-X6700BS in-dash CD receiver features detachable face security. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 5 preset colors (White/Red/Amber/Green/Blue), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red/Blue/Green brightness levels), or scan through a variety of colors.

Brightness Control: You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit.

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose different patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music.

Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can choose to have the clock display during playback of each source.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-X6700BS comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause playback, skip music tracks, change display info, and answer/end Bluetooth phone call. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

This receiver can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same tIme. [ Kenneth  Apr 23, 2016 ]
    A good player at a reasonable cost. [ Marcus  Apr 21, 2016 ]
This unit has the features that I was looking for. I have always been a fan of Pioneer head units, and expect this to be as good if not better than units I've had in the past. [ Robert  Apr 20, 2016 ]
It had all of the features I wanted plus Pioneer seems to be one of the better head units these days. [ Marks  Apr 14, 2016 ]
Great reviews across the board! [ Calvin  Apr 06, 2016 ]
I looked at dozens of units in every brand. This one gave me the ability to adjust the brightness and had overall good reviews. Pioneer has a good reputation. I did not need SIRI but could add it later if I wanted to. The price was in my ball park and had BT and USB. Crutchfield made the difference in buying. [ Robert  Apr 05, 2016 ]
My son bought one and told me how great it was. [ Wayne  Apr 05, 2016 ]

It looked like a good value. And it fits the hole in the dash. [ David  Dec 22, 2015 ]
I have always had good results from Pioneer. I like Infinity, as well as Pioneer. I've never had sony but I do know, first hand, that Kenwood does not meet my expectations. I bought this particular receiver because it has 6 preamp outputs, so if I decide to add a sub later it wont be an issue. [ Richard  Dec 22, 2015 ]
fits needs perfectly. [ Karen Di  Dec 21, 2015 ]
I have used Pioneer products for over 30 years. Great products! Crutchfield makes it easy to get everything you need at a great price without any hassel. [ Shawn  Dec 18, 2015 ]
This will be my 3rd Pioneer. I like the sound quality. I also like the age-old Supertuner technology for better radio reception. I didn't think much of it until I tried a Sony. I missed having the Pioneer supertuner in that car. [ James  Dec 18, 2015 ]
Compatible with both iPhone and Android, has a CD player, uses both AUX and USB connections, and will charge the phone. Not to mention programmable light colors, etc. This is for my college aged son, and this has everything he wanted... the lights are just an extra little bit of bling. [ DAVID  Dec 17, 2015 ]
Had all of the features that my wife wanted in a radio for her car, like the Pioneer quality. [ Larry  Dec 17, 2015 ]
Pioneer brand, great features, good price. [ Matthew  Dec 16, 2015 ]
it had the features I was looking for and it is specifically for a scion xb 2005 [ Glenda  Dec 15, 2015 ]
Per Crutchfield - whom I trust - this receiver fits my car model and also matches what I need [ William  Dec 15, 2015 ]
I had the double din version of this radio in my last car and really like it. I got this because my Pontiac solstice monsoon system didn't have an USB or Bluetooth like this radio. I went with single din version of this radio because there is not really much storage in a Pontiac solstice. Now with this I get a cubby for my phone. [ Bryan  Dec 15, 2015 ]
This is my third Pioneer unit. The other units work great. Very clear with great reception on the road. The connection to my iPhone and to Pandora works flawlessly. My wife who usually needs my help with electronics can actually use this in the car without me! [ LARRY  Dec 14, 2015 ]
Look like a good radio for the price [ GREG S  Dec 14, 2015 ]
I already have one. The first unit in another vehicle has been solid. I'm not in the mood to experiment with another. [ DESIREE  Dec 13, 2015 ]
Absolutely love this unit. Excellent price for what you get. [ Joseph  Dec 13, 2015 ]
I have always liked pioneer and the reviews were good on this model # [ Daniel  Dec 12, 2015 ]
Looking to replace a stock radio that had AM/FM cassette. This is a teenagers vehicle and this radio had great options for the price. In addition, Tennessee is looking to pass legislation requiring hands-free cell phone use, and the radio will help meet the new requirement, if passed. [ Dewayne  Dec 12, 2015 ]
I purchased the same model before and I really like it. [ Hendrik  Dec 09, 2015 ]
Great specs, neat and clean front and external speaker [ Michael  Dec 08, 2015 ]
    Grandson request. [ Oscar  Dec 07, 2015 ]
I have 1 similar to it and like it as its a pioneer. [ Elvyn  Dec 03, 2015 ]
My son chose this from Crutchfield for a Christmas gift. I just ordered it today. I know he will love it!! Thank you.... [ Cindy  Dec 03, 2015 ]

Not positive as I've never tried. It does play mp3 files off my phone though. [ Henry  Apr 28, 2016 ]
    Yes it does [ James  Apr 27, 2016 ]
    Yes [ Jeremy  Apr 27, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. The USB port is on the front right just above the AUX port. There is a small door that protects the port when not in use. Hope that helps. [ Kenny  Apr 11, 2016 ]  Staff
I'm not too happy with some of its functions. Price was good... I would keep looking [ Daryl  Apr 09, 2016 ]
It's been over a year since installation, so I don't remember the particulars. My recollection is that the colors of the connector/adapter that Crutchfield sent matched the colors of my Chevy Suburban, except that one set of connectors is not used because that set was for the tape player which does not interface with the Pioneer radio. The exception on the color coding was a light blue wire which, if I remember properly, was an additional ground wire that was not needed. I sealed it off prior to putting the radio in. I hope this helps--simply been too long for more specifics. [ Edmund  Mar 12, 2016 ]
It's in the box in the instruction manual. You will more than likely need a wiring harness for whatever vehicle you are using [ Kyle  Mar 12, 2016 ]
I am not sure but it was easy to hook up . I never done anything like this . I did call Crutchfield and the gent walked me threw it an it was so easy . [ Philip  Mar 12, 2016 ]
Sorry, I don't know; I asked a friend who's familiar with radios to install this for me so he set it up. I can tell you the instructions enclosed did answer your question because I remember he referred to it constantly to set the radio up for installation. I can also tell you that but for times when it will not pick up the satellite connection, it works very well. [ ROBERT C  Mar 12, 2016 ]
    wht wht/blk = left front, gray gray/blk right front, grn grn/blk left rear, violet violet/blk right rear, black = ground, yellow = constant 12v, red = switched 12v, blue/wht = power amp or antenna, orange/wht = illumination control [ Robert  Mar 12, 2016 ]
    Yes if is a detachable faceplate [ RICHARD W  Mar 06, 2016 ]
Yes It does little button on lower left [ JON  Mar 05, 2016 ]
Definitely detachable. Even my wife was able to detach it easily, and she isn't mechanically inclined. [ JOHN P  Mar 05, 2016 ]
Yes the faceplate does detach. [ JOE  Mar 04, 2016 ]
Dont know Michael, I'm not an audiophile, just bough pioneer for added capabilities. Bet if you ask Crutchfield tech support they can list a bunch. [ Henry  Feb 20, 2016 ]
Not sure if it fits a 2000 Ford pickup. I was able to make a modified fit on my 2004 Ford SD pickup with the instructions provided by Crutchfield [ MARCO  Dec 21, 2015 ]
No, this stereo will not fill the entire hole of your truck. There will be an open slot below it....but you can purchase a custom install kit for your truck to give you that factory finish look! Read more below. Your truck will require an common custom install kit(which can be purchased from Crutchfield...or locally). Depending on the kit you purchase, you will 1) have a rubber/plastic black plate which will hide the empty space and look neat in appearance or 2) (my preference,) a storage pocket/shelf that will be under your new stereo. You have a place to put extra stuff! The custom install kits are common, and most everyone that replaces their stereo will have to purchase install kits and/or wiring/plug harnesses in order to have that factory finish look. The Pioneer unit I purchased .... I installed it into my daughters 2003 VW did not need the black plate or storage pocket...but I did purchase the wiring harness from Crutchfield and it made it a breeze to install. I hope this is of help to you!!! [ Donald  Dec 21, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff  Dec 21, 2015 ]  Staff
First of all, does your flip phone have Bluetooth? If it does, it would seem as though it would work with the Pioneer. I have no literature on the Samsung gusto 3 and do not have a list of phones able to be used with the Pioneer, so cannot give definitive answer. I do really enjoy my Pioneer, but still occasionally have to refer to the owners manual. The phone answering and the microphone work very well. [ WAYNE H  Dec 18, 2015 ]
    Yes [ michael  Jan 13, 2016 ]
The system does allow IPhone control. When paired, the system will change, pause, rewind/fast forward, and mute. I use Rhapsody most times, but YouTube and others the rest. Probably the best head unit I've found so far. Recommend. [ Shaun-Ray  Dec 17, 2015 ]
Yes. I don't think you can change play lists but you can change songs on desk on iTunes and Spotify ect. I've had this unit for a year in cold Minnesota. It's solid deck and I highly recommend it. [ Brian  Dec 17, 2015 ]
Yes it can. I find it to be a nuisance. Not sure if there is a simpler system out there but I stopped using it and plug it direct for easier control. [ Daryl  Dec 14, 2015 ]
yes it should works with blue tooth devices. I have no trouble my phone or devices, just have to do a pairing [ STEVE  Dec 14, 2015 ]
Yes if it a phone headset [ Hilltop tire an  Dec 14, 2015 ]
I don't have an IPhone, I have a Galaxy S5, so take this with a grain of salt. I can fully control selection of music and volume from the phone when it's in BLUETOOTH mode. In AUX mode, all the controlling comes from the receiver (track selection, volume, etc). Hope that helps. [ Henry  Dec 10, 2015 ]
Yes, when connected through Bluetooth, the receiver will work just like a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. Your iPhone is the controller. [ John  Dec 09, 2015 ]
This is a personal preference. Since I dislike "tinny" high frequency sounds, I like a bell shaped curve on the equalizer, with emphasis on the low frequencies. My Suburban tends to cancel out low frequency sound, so that most of what I hear on the highway is high frequency. I can eliminate that effect by emphasis on the midrange and low frequencies. In town, at a stoplight, it may sound a little heavy on the bass, but on the road the total sound is where I like it. [ Edmund  Dec 02, 2015 ]
it's in my wife's car she uses it I'm not sure what settings she puts it on [ Philip  Dec 02, 2015 ]
All removable face head units must extend enough to get your fingers on the faceplate. If installed properly the Pioneer should only extend the depth of the black outer molding trim shown in the photo. Mine replaced a double-DIN head unit and included (no charge) a replacement dash panel with single-DIN opening. Looked perfect with minimal effort to install. [ JOHN P  Dec 01, 2015 ]
Yes. If you use the adapter that comes with it It will look like it was meant to be there [ Kyle  Dec 01, 2015 ]
Yes, it is its like any other aftermarket radio I have gotten installed. P.S. There was no need to cut anything in the back since it was a standard stereo. [ JOEL  Dec 01, 2015 ]
I personally think this is one of the easiest aftermarket head units to navigate that I've ever used. Once Bluetooth is set up it automatically pairs to the phone so it's hands free calls and the music comes back when finished. We also use Pandora and that works really well also. My wife loves it and is able to navigate it just fine. She says it is the easiest one she has had to navigate also. [ T  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Very easy to navigate. The control helps a lot. [ Juan  Nov 23, 2015 ]
    Yes it does. [ Sam  Nov 13, 2015 ]
Yes it does. When I receive a call it shows the last name, then first name. If it's not in your contacts it will display the calling number or "Private". [ Wendall  Nov 13, 2015 ]
Yes, you can connect your iPhone to the radio with Bluetooth. You can play apps like Pandora or Spotify; or your own music through the iPhone's built-in music app. [ John  Nov 08, 2015 ]
Yes. Either plug in to the USB port on the radio and use the phone as a "digital source" or connect to the radio via Bluetooth and play using iTunes or whatever program you would use if your headphones were plugged into your phone. [ Henry  Nov 08, 2015 ]
Yes. Via Bluetooth or connected to the USB port. [ JOE  Nov 08, 2015 ]
I take my 4Runner off road almost once a week and in the last 7-8 months I've never had an issue with anything although I only use either Bluetooth or aux. I've never used the CD player. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question [ Chandler  Oct 28, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The antenna would simply plug into the back of this unit. There is also a blue/white wire in the main harness on this unit which is for an antenna and amplifier turn on lead. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Oct 19, 2015 ]  Staff
No, it can connect to 3 devices but can only use one at a time [ Kyle  Oct 13, 2015 ]
NO, you can't. The Pioneer will store several device-pairing profiles, doesn't distinguish Apple vs Android vs anything-else. Pioneer only designed it for (1) BT connection at any time. Have tested it with (2) iPhones; and (1) iPhone + (1) Fire HD tablet. From a safety perspective you want your phone connected. From a sound quality perspective, you'd do better connecting the audio feed through the Aux jack, or USB port on the front face. Bluetooth audio has the limited dynamic range, it's like using an FM modulator - everything sounds muddy without crisp highs or deep bass. [ JOHN P  Oct 13, 2015 ]
Should be able to. I have 2 iPhones paired to mine and you can switch back and forth pretty easy calls and music when both phones are in the car. It's a heck of a good deck for the price. [ LUKE  Oct 13, 2015 ]
    No [ DALE  Oct 13, 2015 ]
    I haven't tried more than one BT [ Andrew  Oct 13, 2015 ]
We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question. [ Krissy  Oct 13, 2015 ]  Staff
    Yes it will [ JOE  Nov 08, 2015 ]
Sorry Drew, don't know that one. Only phone I've ever used with is Samsung Galaxy S 5 [ Henry  Sep 29, 2015 ]
Yes, that shouldn't be a problem. I ran this radio paired with an iPhone 5s and it worked flawlessly over Bluetooth. [ John  Sep 28, 2015 ]
Pressing the "Band" button during, or at the start of a call, enables "Privacy" which keeps the call within the Phone, and not the receiver. [ Stephen  Aug 17, 2015 ]
I am able to do this with my Samsung Note 4. It would depend on the phone that you are using. I am unaware of any option the stereo has that would allow that. [ The PC  Aug 17, 2015 ]
If your phone allows you to decide which to use (phone or media or both) then it will work for you [ Dwain  Aug 17, 2015 ]
I have no problem with mine did you take it off of demo mode? that's the only thing I can think of [ ROY  Aug 08, 2015 ]
It sounds like you have the +12vdc BATTERY, mixed up with the +12vdc ACC (Ignition Switch). The yellow wire from the unit must connect to the BATTERY. The red wire from the unit must connect to the ACC(IGNITION SWITCH). If they are mixed up it will do what you described. [ Wendall  Aug 06, 2015 ]
Make sure you have 12volts going to radio at all times. You have a red wire and a yellow wire that Red goes to battery and yellow goes to the ingiton I think that is right [ KENNETH R  Aug 05, 2015 ]
you have not hooked it up to a constant power source. you might have wired it to circuit that turns off with the ignition. hook it up straight to the battery or use a circuit tester to find a "hot" fuse, this will retain the memory. I used the wire harness from crutchfield which kept the "hot" circuit to the radio. [ STEVE  Aug 05, 2015 ]
That is the only problem I have with this Pioneer DEH-X6700BS. This radio does not have the capability to retain stored info. once the battery is disconnected. Blutooth is retained although preprogrammed numbers will be lost. Other than this problem, the radio works great with clear phone and better than average sound. [ Millard  Aug 04, 2015 ]
SoUnds like you do not have a constant power to the memory wire. Check it with a voltmeter and insure you have a constant 12 volts there [ Hilltop tire an  Aug 04, 2015 ]

The device does come with an external mic that is designed to be mounted on the sun visor. It is effective for making wireless/Bluetooth calls. [ JEFF  Jan 03, 2016 ]
Yes it comes with the radio. I mounted the unit in my 2000 Ford F150. I drilled a small hold in the storage area of the provided bezel and installed the mic inside the area with a small portion (1/4 in) sticking out. This gives a center location which works well for passenger and driver use. The Bluetooth is clear from both sides. [ Millard  Aug 04, 2015 ]
THe mic isn't "built in"; it plugs into back and cord allows you to place where you want. Mine is on steering column behind wheel. And yes, it comes with radio. [ Henry  Jul 23, 2015 ]
The SiriusXm tuner is operated 100% from the stereo controls. It has every feature of their best receiver and more. The upgrade for the tuner is currently at $70.00 from Crutchfield and I pay $16.00 a month for the All Access SiriusXM. (Note: When you order your service, there is a difference between "Sirius" & "SiriusXM. You want what the Pioneer says on the front, "SiriusXM". Great stereo and the Sirius tuner has performed flawlessly. [ Wendall  Jun 05, 2015 ]
it will interrupt the music and you will here the phone ringing thru the car speakers [ JOEL  Dec 01, 2015 ]
Jason, as long as your phone Bluetooth is mated to the receiver, it will cut
