The versatile DEH-X6700BT offers built-in Bluetooth.

Siri Eyes Free, too

If you have a newer iPhone®, this CD receiver supports Siri Eyes Free, which means you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all through vocal commands. It's not only convenient, it can make your drive safer and more productive.

Plenty of media options

Once your iPhone's connected to the front-panel USB input, you'll be able to access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. You'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations on your Android phone or iPhone from this receiver. You can use the USB input to tap into the music files stored on many Android devices, while the front aux input handles just about any other audio source.

Turn on the color

The DEH-X6700BT CD receiver spans the color spectrum with a multi-color display that lets you choose from thousands of colors for the display and controls — you can even choose different colors for each. MIXTRAX adds to the fun by adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music.

Tailor the sound

With Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier and 5-band EQ at your disposal, you can be sure you'll hear a big jump in sound quality over your old radio. Two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

    Great Unit, tricky EQ!

    2003 Dodge Ram 1500
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great head unit with tons of features! Installation was quick and easy, and every feature has performed flawlessly. The BT quality is great for music and phone calls. Crystal clear. The only complaint I have with this stereo is the EQ settings. It's not the classic bass-mid-treble adjustments that I'm used to, and it made it difficult to get the sound like I wanted it. This is no defect in the unit, just a personal preference. I wish it had an option to use the "EQ for dummies". Overall I'm happy with this stereo and I would recommend it!

    1998 GMC Savana
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a way to upgrade the sound system in my 1998 GMC Savana conversion van. I needed iPod/iPhone connectivity, and this radio offered that. FM stations are hard to receive in the area where I live, but this radio had much better reception than the one that came with the van; 17 years should make a difference. For the price, I couldn't have asked for more. Very happy with it.

    Pros:

Cons: It's a 2014 model, and it is no longer available on the Crutchfield site.

    1997 BMW M3
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would have given a five if it were as easy to use as the quality Japanese car stereos I grew up to many years ago. Granted, the cost of those units were 5 times what this Chinese Pioneer cost and sounded far better also. The omission of a simple Bass or Treble control and double-function buttons that only a teenager can see the markings on brought it down to four stars. Otherwise, for the pittance it cost for the values and features, I would give it a five. And all the features work well.

Pros: Easy install (took about ten minutes in my 1997 E36 M3. Sounds better than the stock BMW Alpine. Bluetooth works perfectly.

Cons: Very dim display even at full brightness, no simple bass or treble controls (equalizer while I'm driving? Yeah, right), double-function buttons with unreadable characters, requires memorization of each buttons features. Sound quality better than average, but not great.

Tremendous value in a Bluetooth receiver

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the 6th Pioneer Bluetooth receiver I've installed into various of our family's cars. Like the others, it's a well-made, feature-filled unit that's very affordable and easy to install. The phone functions work flawlessly with our iphones and the ability to stream music via Bluetooth is very convenient. The Siri integration on these newer units is particularly well done. As always, Crutchfield's website automatically adds the needed installation accessories and and an instruction guide to your order and these parts kits are always complete. The instructions make installation simple.

Pros: Excellent price, unbeatable value. Great iphone/bluetooth support for handsfree calls, music streaming and Siri Solid AM reception

Cons: Display is hard to read in direct sunlight. Even dimmed, button and bezel illumination is still too bright for my liking at night.

Lots of bang for the buck!

    1998 Chevrolet Lumina
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased this Pioneer unit to replace factory unit in a 1998 Lumina, along with 4 new Kickers. Needless to say it is a huge improvement, especially at the higher volume levels. I am not a real picky audiophile, but I did want a substantial upgrade over stock and this Pioneer unit delivers that for me. The Bluetooth works great and the illumination colors earn it major "cool points". Most importantly, the instructions and wiring harnesses that were included made the job fairly painless. Removing a dash panel (yes in a 98 Lumina you have to tear down the entire dash to get to the head unit) can be a huge mess if you don't know where every bolt, screw, and clip are situated, so the instructions alone made it worth the effort to buy from Crutchfield.

Pros: Great sound, fine tuning options, cool factor, easy install.

    Cons: None.

    Great replacement!

Howard H. from Wisconsin on 9/14/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After the factory CD player refused to give back my CD, I checked Crutchfield for a replacement. The Pioneer DEH-X6700BT came up as a popular unit, and being a Pioneer fan from way back, I ordered this one. My advisor answered my questions about the features and installation, and I had the unit in just a few days. It's a vast improvement in sound and function for a very reasonable price. The hands-free phone feature is better than any headset or visor unit we've tried in the car. It's a great purchase and we couldn't be happier.

Pros: Sound quality and functionality. Easy to install.

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After a recommendation from the Crutchfield team and other reviewers I couldn't be more pleased with DEH-6700BT. Installation was simple and directions were very clear and straightforward. Some loose wire connections to make but I'm ok with that. Sound quality is on par with the factory stereo and does justice to the the Infinity system in the vehicle. Bluetooth connections are quick and easy. There is one complaint an that involves the phone/mic portion. Sending and receiving calls is so easy and the person on the other end can hear my voice clearly and with plenty of headroom. Listening to the other phone party through the Pioneer though sounds very compressed and tinny. Other than that this is a very solid and great sounding stereo for the money.

Pros: Sound Quality Build Quality BT, USB, SD card, and Aux inputs on the front Phone Feature

Cons: Listening to phone conversation in the vehicle sounds tinny

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was fun to install. Did it with my son and we had a great time. We learned that Crutchfield knows all as we made 3 phone calls before we got it all done. They were so nice, helpful, and even did some extra research was done to help us try to install the hands free microphone in a different spot. I got the research in the email! Crutchfield is the model for customer service. All other companies should follow their example. The receiver is fabulous. It adds some pop to the interior of the car. It sounds so much better to me than the factory JBL unit that it replaced. Much to be said for newer technology and a great Pioneer product! The sound is rich deep and clear. I am afraid to change it because I might not get the great sound back. So nice to be able to plug right in with the music source and hear it through the unit. Works well with the iPhone and is easy to use. Like the hands free phone ability. Before we had a cumbersome unit which worked but was a pain frankly. Buy this unit and you won't regret it. Sound is vastly improved, easy to use for even a nearly 60 year old man and woman. I want another right now for her car. Of course mine was first. I will buy from Crutchfield again and it will be a Pioneer again!

Pros: So many pros that they are hard to mention. It is a bargain which is a great improvement over the old one.

Cons: Sure would like to see the display during the daytime.

Installed this in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma with the factory JBL speakers. My first stereo install and I would say it went well and was fairly easy. The bass control is great. Mids and highs seemed to get drowned out a little bit but I plan on upgrading my speakers eventually so that should change. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

First stereo we've ever installed, and we pulled it off (ok, with a little Crutchfield support)! We had just one hang-up, and they totally solved it for us in a short call. We haven't played with all the features fully yet, but the one we're most excited about is being able to play music directly from our iPhones via Bluetooth...before this, we were stuck with our factory CD player (and all our remaining CDs are from eons ago). It is sooo nice!

Pros: Looks great, easy install, easy to figure out

Cons: Not a huge fan of the preset station button design, but I got over it!

It was a good choice to replace my 12 year old tape and CD player. The installation package was excellent though the sound quality was a notch below the original.

Pros: Price is right. I like the USB capabilities. Lots of volume.

Cons: The sound isn't as good as I had hoped and the easy of changing between radio, aux was a little obtuse. Refining the usage was not obvious.

Some of the controls are a little counter intuitive, but not a big deal. The price is right, it sounds great, and we haven't had any real problems whatsoever.

Cons: Look of stereo face is a little ... 'meh'

Installed Pioneer using provided Metra harness, soldering all connections properly. Let car sit for 2 nights. Battery died. Put factory radio back in, everything fine. Did swap test 4 times, same result. Tested all connections with a meter MANY times just to be sure. Spoke to tech support 4 times, they sent replacement unit. Same result. Had battery tested, checked out fine. Took car to an automotive shop I deal with to check battery again, still fine. Ran amp draw test, nothing abnormal. Finally found possible culprit. Car has a separate 9-pin connector that connects to factory unit, but doesn't connect to Pioneer. This connector contains a pink wire that powers factory amp. Per the instructions, I had connected Pioneer's remote amp turn-on wire to pink wire. Everything functioned as expected, EXCEPT... when power to stereo is turned off (even car off), there is a back-feed of .5 - 1 volt coming from pink wire. Even when I disconnected pink factory wire from Pioneer, voltage was there. But, when I re-install factory stereo & plug in 9-pin connector, voltage on pink wire stops! Apparently, that connector needs to be terminated, otherwise .5 - 1 volt is present, which I assume must be draining battery. Either that, or constant power for station memory is drawing too much power. Gave up and put factory unit back in. Got Pac Audio PXDX for an Aux In, which is why I bought the Pioneer to begin with. Crutchfield was great through the whole ordeal, which I appreciated.

Pros: Bluetooth for the cell phone works flawlessly. Also the FM reception is very good. The buttons on the faceplate are very easy to manipulate.

Cons: A little difficult to read the manual and learn how to use the features of the system. Manual should be clearer in it's descriptions.

For the "must haves" on my list of requirements (bluetooth audio, bluetooth hands-free, Siri integration, CD), I couldn't be happier. The documentation leaves a bit to be desired; there are a number of menu options and features that don't seem to be described adequately. That said, most basic functionality is pretty self evident. Compared to the factory deck that was originally in the vehicle, the DEH-X6700BT is noticeably better sounding. All in all it seems to be a solid unit at a decent price.

Pros: Sounds amazing, Siri integration, solid bluetooth

Cons: Mediocre documentation, no microphone built into unit (ships with an external mic)

I'm an old guy, so the changing lights don't do a thing for me and using the stereo isn't intuitive for a guy who can hardly use an iphone, but the sound is great, the features are tremendous (I love the bluetooth), and Crutchfield is so helpful with their advice and add ons that I know it would have been an ordeal without their help.

    Pros: Price, quality, features.

Cons: Not what I would call easy to use. Steep learning curve for an old guy.

    Best feature set for price!

Easy to install and the features are great. If you don't need Satellite or HD Radio (almost everything on HD Radio uses iHeartRadio app anyway and you can use Bluetooth for this), this is the best bang for your buck.

Pros: Looks nice, sounds nice, Easy to install.

Cons: Seems that if I switch between iHeartRadio to Google Play Music (already Bluetooth connected) it doesn't recognize the switch until I fully quit the app, then start the music from Play Music.

I replaced my stock stereo finally. I always felt it was acceptable but I went ahead and decided to grab the Pioneer deck. I have never installed a car stereo myself but it all went easy and well with the information provided and suggested completer items from Crutchfield. When it started up I was wowed, how much better it did sound. It has been over a week and all is going well each time I learn another cool feature with this deck. I have paired the deck up with my iPhone and loving the features and phone compatibility all this and great sounding music which is what I really wanted. Thanks Crutchfield.

Purchased pioneer Deh-x6700BT with wire harness. The ease of installing the unit was a breeze, with harness makes an easy match to connect color coded wires together. Also iam 65yrs old not to limber or iPad or BT pairing savy . But by following the directions it paired the first time and work like stated it should. The sound is a amazing in my 92 Toyota 4x4. Thank you Crutchfield.

Pros: Ease of installing, easy set up when you read manual. Take your time. Sound is amazing. Illumination amazing, it's nice to be able to see display with color options. Day lite or night.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PIONEER RADIOS IN MY CAR AND THIS ONE IS NOT THE EXCEPTION, ONLY BETTER SINCE ALL THE GREAT FEATURES AND THE GOOD PERFORMANCE WHEN MAKING CALLS WITH THE BLUETOOTH SYNC TO MY CELL. SOUND QUALITY IS BETTER THAN THE FACTORY RADIO CAR CAME WITH.

Pros: BLUETOOTH CAPABLE, TO MAKE CALLS OR LISTEN TO MUSIC STREAM FROM YOUR PHONE TO THE RADIO VIA BLUETOOTH AND THE USB CABLE CONNECTION IS GREAT TO CHARGE CELL

Cons: I INSTALLED IT IN A NISSAN PATHFINDER 2006 AND ALMOST DIDN'T FIT CAUSE IS A BIT LONGER THAN THE FACTORY RADIO, SO THERE WASN'T MUCH ROOM ON THE RADIO HOLLOW OF THE CAR, BUT I WIGGLE IT A LITTLE AND FITTED PERFECTLY AND IS NOT LOOSE. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Our 18 year old granddaughter decided she would upgrade the radio in her dad's 1994 Camaro while he is serving with the Air Force in the mideast. He is letting her use the car while he is gone. I told her I would give her the radio for her birthday present if she would assemble the wiring harness and install it by herself while I kept an eye on her work. We used Posi-Products Car Stereo Connectors and they worked fine. She got the radio into the Camaro with a minimum of fuss. The radio turned on with no problem. She is now learning to use it's features. This radio replaces a Blaupunkt Melbourne SD27 which didn't have Bluetooth and some other features she wanted. She also installed a Sony in her RAV 4. I think I may have made a new happy customer for Crutchfield.

Pros: Great price and lots of features. Sounds better than the Blaupunkt it replaced. Everything fit just fine. I consider the Bluetooth to be a safer way to use a cell phone while driving.

    Cons: None noted.

Radio has great Bluetooth connectivity with my LG G3 phone. The receiver pulls in stations strongly. Like the remote control and the AUX plug on the front. That is used to plug in my XM module. An inexpensive means to a satisfying end.

Pros: Bluetooth, color displays, sound quality and signal strength of receiver, AUX-in.

Cons: None that I've found so far in terms of what the unit was expected and supposed to do. It does all that extremely well.

This was an easy install, especially with the Crutchfield recommended installation kit. Some tricky bits in the setup (shutting off demo mode only available the FIRST time you start it, for one). Bluetooth connection could be easier to set up, especially for my older iPod, but it works well.

Pros: Works well with a multitude of sources. Sounds good (better than my stock speakers can handle, actually).

Cons: Bluetooth connecting to my iPhone 5S makes it turn on "Show all music". Very annoying. I ended up disabling cellular data for music on my phone, so that it wouldn't burn up all my data transferring stuff that isn't on the phone. (This might be an IOS8 bug.)

The unit works fine...the sound is just a bit on the tinny side, but, it is also not the top model to play with...so I think it works great for the value.

Pros: Easy to install, the remote makes it so much easier to use without having to really lose focus on the road while driving.

Cons: The connection for the microphone is located in the back of the unit. This makes it a bit difficult to route the microphone so that it is easy to place in a convenient location. I found that the clip did not fit my visor, also would have placed the cable in a place that could be distracting. I ended up not connecting the microphone and used another product.

The chassis was 1/4" too long, so it would not work with Crutchfield's install kit for a Chevy Silverado. Bluetooth would not work with my phone. My Sonic's Bluetooth works flawlessly with same phone. I could not get it to recognize my Apple Shuffle; I bought it new from a discount retail store in 2013. Same Shuffle works flawlessly with my Sonic. Since I bought this unit for it's Bluetooth and iPod interface, it was worthless to me. The wiring diagram was not clear of all the wire assignments. I guessed that the colors should match Crutchfield's adaptor plug; I guessed correctly.

    Pros: Good sound. Looks good.

Cons: Unclear wiring diagram. it's Bluetooth interface does not work with my phone. iPod interface did not work with my Apple Shuffle. Unit does not seem to shutoff; I could only change the source or turn down the volume to quiet the unit.

Works as expected, install was pretty easy, even for an amateur such as myself (this was my first time installing a car stereo). I bought this to replace my factory stereo because I wanted Bluetooth. After pairing it initially. The Bluetooth links automatically to my iPhone 6plus each time I start up the car and starts playing whatever I was listening to before I left (music, pandora, audible, etc). Crutchfield is a bit more expensive than other places I could have bought but I went with Crutchfield because their customer service is amazing. 1st: I called and talked to a knowledgable advisor/salesperson who helped me find exactly what I wanted, 2nd: I called tech support two seperate times during install and probably botched the explanation but they knew exactly what I was asking and answered instantly, 3rd: my oem radio antenna did not fit into the stereo, Crutchfield was unaware of this based on their spec sheets but when I told them I had to buy an oem to Motorola adaptor (that was unfortunatly not long enough) from a local store, Crutchfield shipped out an extender cable for free. I just popped on the adaptor and extension cable and now my radio works too! Installation successful! Thank you much Crutchfield, I'll never shop elsewhere for products you carry as long as you keep up this excellent work.

    Pros: Bluetooth works perfectly

Cons: Menus are not as intuitive as what I've come to expect from electronics (thanks for spoiling everything Apple) I wish I could figure out how to make the decorative color illumination just turn off, I don't want 12 different colors to choose from, I just want it off.

I bought this stereo as a Father's Day present for my husband. It fit perfectly in his 2000 Chevy Silverado. Installation only took around 15 minutes and most of that was connecting the wire harness. The sound quality is excellent and the controls are very simple to figure out. It's quick and easy to switch between radio Cd MP3 or your phone. The colors make it look awesome and stand out, there are so many choices or just let it change. The feature I was most impressed with was the Bluetooth phone. The microphone is small and attaches discreetly on the steering column. Sitting in the truck driving down the road you can hear everything clear as day through the car speakers and the caller on the other end can hear everything clearly. There was no static or background noise (engine, exhaust, etc) and my husbands truck has a loud exhaust system. I was very impressed how clear the conversation was. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great stereo to do it all and make calls.

As I put in requirements for the features I wanted, like Bluetooth streaming from my iPhone, both front facing 1/8 jack and USB, and such, this receiver was always in the list and was 1/2 the cost of other receivers with the features I wanted most. It is a good unit for the price. I hope it is built to be a trouble free radio for a long time because all of the features seem to perform really well after the first couple weeks of use.

Pros: This receiver has a ton of features for the price. There are built in high/low filters with multiple frequency and slope adjustments for component systems. It has a 5 band EQ. Bluetooth works with Android and iPhone so I can switch brands and still use this unit. There are 3 ways to play from my iPhone including the USB interface which can play music while charging the phone so I don't have to have two cables plugged in at once for that feature.

Cons: One compromise was the 2V preamp outputs. This makes it a less perfect choice if you are planning to run a separate sub (I don't currently). 4V+ preamp outputs is better for that. It's a low power unit at only 14RMS. That isn't bad. It does get as loud as the factory radio, but it could have been a bit higher to make it more universal in case I ever get a little extra cash to start adding to my system. The display is a little hard to see in the brightest part of a sunny day. Most are though.

Not only is the sound and look a huge improvement, it allows her to play the music from her iphone wirelessly, and make and receive hands-free calls. She loves it and it's much safer. Factor in the big box store wanted and extra $100 ($30 for the wiring and mounting hardware + $70 for installation) plus tax, and it's a no-brainer to buy from the experts at Crutchfield.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This pioneer unit is an amazing value. Purchased to replace the factory unit in a 2006 Acura RSX after the CD unit failed. The clean lines and controls are a great fit for the Acura's (back then) clean and simple dash and the ability to match the display color to the dash backlight is a great plus. The unit sounds great with the stock speakers - just enough power. I'm not a fan of the DIN sleeve as the unit has more play than I'd like, but I managed to secure to the Acura radio frame for a better fit. Otherwise installation was straightforward. Oddly enough the owners manual doesn't specify the wire color for al of the wires, but its a 1:1 match to the Metra harness identified by Crutchfield - only needed a quick confirmation with a Google lookup. The BT features all work great.

Pros: Simple and clean controls Great combination of features for the price Customizable display and remote are a plus on an already great unit

Cons: Loose within the DIN sleeve - needs securing to the radio frame for a solid install

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I picked this product over an Alpine on the basis of better value and much better reviews here on Crutchfield. The install was mostly smooth though there were a couple of times I had to call customer service when I got stuck with something. At times the documentation between the master instructions, the wiring harness, and the Pioneer unit had some gaps between them. Fortunately, Crutchfield customer service was outstanding and I was able to work through everything pretty quickly. One note - the "long red wire" that needed to reach over to the fuse box just barely did so for my car - it really needed to be at least 3 inches longer. Otherwise the unit paired up nicely with the wiring harness and slid right in with just a bit of light sanding needed on the plastic frame. The unit functions well - good radio signal, Bluetooth phone and audio, and CD all worked well, as did the USB audio port. The sound quality is excellent with the CD and radio, a bit less so with the USB only because the volume level is too low - I've tried the same USB files in other units and they are plenty load, but on this I need to really crank the volume up almost to max to get it close to loud enough. The controls are pretty straightforward and intuitive. Takes a bit of getting used to like anything, and this unit has its quirks but overall seems to do fine. Overall, very nice unit, good value, install was pretty easy, would recommend to a friend.

Pros: Good value. Attractive unit, nice lighting options. Two simultaneous Bluetooth connections a plus (but see below for a caveat). Smooth install.

Cons: USB volume levels seem too low. A few minor gaps in the install instructions that required calling customer service. For Bluetooth, while two phones can connect at the same time, only one can connect to the phone function (the other connects to the music/audio stream). It would be better if both could connect to the phone function at the same time - this was one of the selling points to me for the unit b/c I have two phones (work and personal).

Installed this radio in moms car so she could have bluetooth hands free. Came with the mic and was really easy going in. I was replacing an alpine deck and I thought half of her speakers were blown. Once installed all speakers were working and it sounded great for a stock speaker system! This radio is highly recommended!

Pros: Ease of install, mic included, color changing to match cluster, sound quality, aux and usb hookups

Ease of installation. Menu driven control is not very intuitive; but then again, most aftermarket radios probably suffer from the same issues. Preset station buttons way too small!

Pros: Ease of installation. Bluetooth calls using microphone work great! Good value. Lots of features built-in.

Cons: Display is often impeded by glare from passenger seat. A flat screen, instead of curved, might avoid this problem. Preset radio stations are very small. Next to impossible to see.

After reading several internet articles about replacing my old Ford 1998 F150 Factory Radio/Cassette, I didn't know if would be a cakewalk or a nightmare. With Crutchfield's automated guidance to install tools, dash, and wire harness accessories, along with their detailed install instructions (Pictures were great) it was a snap. I had the old radio out and the new one in in a half hour, including setting up the new stereo for presets, Bluetooth, MP3 opearations etc. I was prepared to spend a better part of a day on it, and it was over so quickly I was surprised when it was all done. I was geared up for snafu's and problems, and there weren't any. I had to make a call to their Tech Support for one question about the wiring harness, one minute later I was back in business. It was a great purchase experience, very easy install, and new stereo is awesome. Incredible sound, easy operation, and very cool illumination display. Amazing features for the price! Very Happy Customer. Glad I found Crutchfield! Their support is perfect.

Pros: Incredible, friendly support from purchase to install. Great Stereo, full featured for a low price. Very easy install.

    Cons: None. I'm happy.

This is an excellent little head unit. It was easy to install, with all the parts provided from Crutchfield. After that the setup is a snap. I really enjoy using the bluetooth feature on it, when I get into my car it automatically connects and plays whatever playlist was last playing. The only downside to that is it doesnt remember wher eit was playing from last and thus starts at the beginning of the song. I personally didn't even take full advantage of all the features so I can't tell you how the connect features or pandora work, But for bluetooth audio streaming from my mobile network it sounds phenomenal.

Pros: bluetooth, usb, aux cables, simplicity of setup, simplicity of use.

Being an older guy, I've installed a few stereos. But once I got this installed, it blew me away. Able to change the display colors. Then pair right to my phone with ease. I like listening to audio books on road trips and lunch breaks. I store the books on the phone, and once inside and start my little Jeep, the Bluetooth pairs with the phone. Start the app and hear the book. Once I turn off the car the audio book pauses, when I restart the car, the book restarts without having to touch anything, with my android phone. (Great when stopping for gas) Then I tried a TV show when on a lunch break. Wow! I mount the phone to the dash and start play the TV show and even in stereo, it sounds like surround sound. Better than my Bluetooth Headphones. You hear and feel that bass. The Bluetooth mic picks up the sound and sound better than my home speaker phone. Love the hands free driving. The USB port I use the charge the phone as I'm listing to audio books. Still haven't had the time to try the USB port with a thumb drive yet.

Pros: It displays a clock! Don't know how many stereos that I've had to reach over to push a button to just see the time. The Display Colors, and trim colors being able to customize to your choice. Just using the stock speakers and no amp, it sounds so much better than the original stereo. The Bluetooth mic wire is long,(Got mine above the mirror and running across the right side and back to the stereo) callers can hear me better than talking on just the phone by it self.

Cons: The color blue in the display is hard to read in the sunlight. So now I got Blue for the trim and Green for display.

The Pioneer DEH-X6700BT CD receiver is everything I wanted in my RV. It took about 30 minutes to remove the old Sony and install the new Pioneer. After about 10 minutes going through the menu... I had all the settings just the way I wanted. The I-phone setup was almost instant with no issues. I can listen to music from my phone or I-pod and answer an incoming call and talk "hands free." Great sound through my RV deluxe speaker system including two (2) large base speakers. My navigator (Bride) can control the entire system, answer calls, and ask "Seri" a navigation question (through the included microphone) all from her right side recliner with the great working remote control. This Pioneer will do everything the description says it will do. There are so many, easy to use, controls to make the sound what you want it to be! There is so much more to say but it will be easier for you to read the description and believe what it says. The additional installation information that the great folks from Crutchfield sent with the Pioneer system was perfect for my installation! P.S. Purchase the great wire connectors, sold on Crutchfield, that screw together. Makes the wire install so easy, tight, dust proof and secure.

HI this is my 2nd face plate radio since 1997 it replaced a factory radio. I hook it up to the amp in my car that came from the factory. Likes the usb feature is awesome filled up a 16 usb with music and just plug and play was also able to keep my steering wheel controls which is nice. The sound is decent with strong bass do wish it had just bass and treble controls still trying to figure EQ settings is a pain the UI needs works to many sub menus. Have not use the mixtrax don't think I will. The dot matrix display is nice but hard to see in the day time but nice at night. The mic and blue tooth works very well all in all decent unit it does not come with a case I don't understand that would rather have a hard case than the remote the unit came with on a scale of 1-10 I give it a solid 8.

Pros: Cost / dot matrix display and the usb and Bluetooth sound quality

    2006 Jeep Liberty
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The primary reasons I purchased the Pioneer DEH-X6700BT was to add Bluetooth technology to my car for safety, convenience and entertainment. I researched head units extensively and considered a standalone Bluetooth mic/speaker units, but was concerned about limited audio capabilities of such devices. For the same price or less the DEH-X6700BT provides Bluetooth and so much more. Compared to a standalone Bluetooth unit, hands down, the better option is to route the audio through existing car speakers for fuller sound. My 2006 Jeep Liberty is exceptionally burdened by road and wind noise at interstate speeds. I was tentative about the ability of the DEH-X6700BT's ability to cut through the ambient noise but could not find a single negative review about noise cancellation issues. Now that it is installed and tested in my Jeep, I can say I am very impressed, as are callers on the other end of the line. Regardless of the speed I travel (up to 80MPH) there is no loss in noise cancellation or sound quality. Calls are crisp on both ends. I am very happy with the unit overall. It's a little cumbersome to navigate the menus but overall easy to set up and use. Build quality of the face seems a little flimsy but is acceptable. For the price I wouldn't expect a rock solid feel. Installation was simple - easier than expected. Crutchfield's support gave me the confidence to install the unit myself. A big thanks to Lefty at Crutchfield support for his help in the process.

Pros: Crutchfield's support, the unit's Bluetooth & overall audio quality, ease of pairing and use with an Android to stream audio from any source/app.

Cons: Face is a little flimsy, otherwise I would have absolutely given the unit a 5-star rating

Great sounding system. Easy install with their kit. On the Mini, be sure to connect the blue antenna wire. You don't have a power ant, but it needs the booster to get a clear AM signal. Wife loves playing with the color options.

    Pros: Great sounds and controls.

    Cons:

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an initial review. I have not finished testing all aspects. I would warn users that the ability to pick up weaker stations was significantly worse than the OEM Subaru stereo I was replacing. That alone is rather disappointing. The display is not the greatest and you do have to mess around to get access to even basic functions like balance and fade (which are harder when you can't see the display on a sunny day).

Pros: Price Features for the price Size and fits many different vehicles.

Cons: Radio sub par in picking up signal. Note this is POSSIBLY the antennae adapter supplied as part of the install kit. I have no real way testing that. See separate review of install kit, which was sub-par on instructions and was missing screws.

    2001 GMC Yukon
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After a week of messing around with this in my '02 GMC Yukon, it is fantastic. I have the premium sound package with subwoofer (not Bose). I didn't replace any of the speakers or amplifiers, so it's running from HU to stock amps to stock speakers. This HU has definitely livened up the stock speakers. I was going to put an additional subwoofer in to add more bass, but the stock 8" puts out plenty now! I'm going to eventually replace the speakers in the front and the stock SW. Highs are a little shrill, and the mix gets muddy at high volumes. I can turn the volume up higher than with the stock HU without distortion, but listening still gets fatiguing after a while. The Head Unit works well. The install kit looks a bit tacky as the finish doesn't match up with the interior well, but it functions fine. I like the control over the sound and all the options. Menus are deep, but fairly intuitive. Not a huge fan of the rotary knob and pressing down on it to select things in the menu. If you press down accidentally while trying to turn down the volume quick, it just cycles through options in the menus instead of adjust the volume level.

Pros: Huge sound quality improvement over stock HU Price Bonus points with the wife Wife likes all the pretty colors Bluetooth is fantastic!

Cons: Cycling through menus is taxing Accidental menu activation gets annoying

I replaced my old stock deck on a 95 f250 with this pioneer and couldnt be happier. Ive always loved the amount of customization pioneer decks offer and this one is no different. If I were to gripe about something its the amount of digging you have to do to use an equalizer or change the dimmer. I wish they would have thought about making a button for these two items as I use them frequently with this unitl. The display brightness is great at night however ive noticed during the daytime it becomes very hard to read without cranking it up, problem is then at night this is bright as crap. Also wish it showed the time always instead you have to hit display everytime. But overall I bought it to improve my stock stereo and it has done just that. I love how easy Crutchfield makes installation this company is great to order through it came free with all the things I would need to not only remove my old stereo but new wiring connections and bracket for installing the new.

Pros: -Its a classic pioneer deck lots of customization.

Cons: -Brightness display during daytime. -Requires digging a tad to change equalizer settings (Im used to the pioneer decks with equalizers as its own button on the main display)

Finally found a radio unit that fits me needs, excellent blue tooth, radio, hands free phone and good quality microphone this does nearly everything I needed. Installed into a F-150 and the factory speakers are good enough to go for a while. The display lighting could be brighter but from what I have read in reviews this is common on aftermarket units. Overall I rate this very high..no problems and the crutchfield team can't be beat. I like that I can stream music from my iphone 4s and it picks up where left off when I leave the vehicle and return, calls coming in are great also. In my work it is an absolute must that my customers can speak to me on the road. This is from my experience only and is in no way guaranteeing someone else's results or satisfying... I'd buy this unit again.

Pros: Well built, good bluetooth and phone capabilities.

Installed this stereo just like any other stereo and now I can use Bluetooth audio and make hands free Bluetooth calls with the mic that I didn't even know was included. The mixtrax illuminations are really cool too. This price for a receiver that does everything I wanted is pretty amazing. I spent over $300 for a Bluetooth receiver when they first came out and it was terrible with compatibility. The receiver is the same price on other sites but you have to buy all the parts which adds up to about 60 dollars. A company that has better deals is a company to buy from.

I really like this stereo. The sound is good and offers several options such as bass boost and an equalizer among many others. Navigating the menus isn't the greatest but I can't think of a better way without a touch screen. I would buy it again. The kit that it came with made the install a breeze. I love the blue tooth and the fact when I start my car it picks up right where it left off. I familiarized myself with the manual before it came in the mail and again while I was learning all the functions and I think doing that helped a great deal. The manual isn't the greatest but it gets you almost all the way there. The included microphone for phone calls works great.

Pros: Lots of functions. Good sound. Easy install.

Bluetooth works great with my Android phone even while the iPhone is hooked up playing music. The sound quality is great through my car stereo speakers. I'd highly recommend this unit. Very pleased. I gave this receiver 5 stars across the board because after a week of use I'm convinced that it does everything I need and more, and it does it with style. First of all, I installed this in my 2002 Rav4 myself. It was the first receiver I've ever installed and it took about an hour and a half or two but knowing what I know now, it could be done in 30 mins. I primarily use it with my iPhone using the bluetooth connection and it's integration is simply awesome. Once your phone is linked to the receiver it will automatically link to your phone and start playing without you touching anything when you start your car (it seems to play from the most recent music app you've used). You can play/pause/next/last with buttons on the receiver and it shows the song title/info on the screen. It comes with a mic that I ran down through the dashboard and clipped under my steering wheel and so far there have been no complaints of wind or engine noise. The volume button doubles as a Siri activation so I can "Call Dad" or "Navigate to the nearest Target" without taking my eyes off the road (the Siri voice also comes out of your car speakers). Furthermore, the receiver has a bunch of different equalizer options and a built in amp so it improved the factory speakers that I did not replace. This brings about the only knock I really have on the receiver, the lack of an equalizer button on the faceplate. It would be nice to be able to change the EQ setting without having to go into the menus.

Pros: Bluetooth integration is seemless. Links to your phone and plays without you touching anything. Made my factory speakers better. Very customizable in terms of backlight colors.

Cons: Very few. Lack of EQ button; you have to enter the menus to change it.

Installing it was very straightforward, the only hitch was the last three wires on the harness that didn't seem to have direct counterparts. After tying in the Pioneer harness with the adapter harness you will have 3 wires left over, Black, Blue and a red with a stripe ( I think, going from memory here a week later). The blue is marked for power antenna and I didn't originally connect it but on the bmw it turns on the amp, so without it you will have no sound. Connect the black to the black ground in the harness, the instructions say to connect to body of car but the harness ground works fine. The last one, which I think was a red with a stripe connects to a solid color wire of the same color (solid red). So except for the blue wire snag, the install was pretty straightforward.

I continued to be amazed at the improvement realized even with the factory speakers. You can't beat this unit for the money. Up grading the vehicle to Blue Tooth alone was worth the cost. Getting used to the various controls and features of the Pioneer, takes a little getting used to, but the learning curve is worth the results realized.

I bought this Pioneer DEH-X6700BT, Car Radio for my Toyota Camry LE 2002. Came with the Radio are the Dash Kit, the receiver Wiring hardness, Crutchfield MasterSheet installation instructions, and the microphone cable (about 1.5 meter long). The Mastersheet is clear and easy to follow. To remote the original Toyota CD/Radio, I watched an online video clip. The installation of the Dash Kit was not easy. The instruction was terrible. It only printed some pictures. It took me about one hour to assembly the dash kit by trial-an-error. The instruction on the receiver wiring hardness, on the other hand, was very clear. The Color of each cable on the wiring hardness was matching perfectly to the Radio receiver's cables. It took me total about 2.5 hours to complete the installation. The sound of the radio was great. It was easy to pair the Bluetooth and connected the Samsung Note 2 to the Pioneer DEH-X6700BT. Sound of the microphone (from the receiving cellphone) and the car's Bluetooth phone was so clear and crisp. My son just loved the USB connection in the front of the receiver. He plugged in his Ipod Nano (the 7th generation). He could control the Ipod from the dial of the receiver without touching his Ipod. My son also loved the Mixtrax feature. The MIXTRAX takes the music from an iPhone/iPod or USB/SD device and plays it back with added transitions and effects creating a virtual DJ on Pioneer receiver. Anyway, Great Radio.

Pros: Good sound quality for the Bluetooth phone and radio.

Cons: Dash Kit installation was a pain because of the poor instruction. It is hard to setup the radio without reading through the user manual.

A New Radio for my 2003 Silverado

Paul from Opelousas, Louisiana on 4/6/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a new radio for 2003 Silverado. My original radio was still playing well, but I had to replace the front speakers. I decided to go to a local shop and try out different radios on display there. What I found to be most appealing to me were 1) Good sound quality 2) USB connectivity and 3) Bluetooth connectivity. I had in mind either a Kenwood or a Sony, but when I attempted to connect my iPhone via Bluetooth, neither one worked. I was able to connect to the Pioneer model with no problem. I decided to do some research online, and that was when I came across Crutchfield. I had evidently been to the site before because it already had the make and model of my truck listed. So all I had to do was look at the recommended models for my 2003 Silverado. Everything that I needed to install my radio was right there, even the speakers. I placed my order at the beginning of the week, and it arrived on Friday in time for me to have my friend install my radio on Saturday. I was impressed by the clarity and the quality of the sound. Also, I was pleased to be able to adjust many parameters to suit my listening preferences. I have all the options that I wanted to play my music from, CD, USB, and Bluetooth. I can play anything I want from my iPhone, including audiobooks on Audible and music on Spotify. I have been enjoying all of these new possibilities, stepping into the twenty- first century. I am very pleased with my purchase!!!

Pros: Clear Sound, many parameters to adjust the sound, easy to learn how to adjust all the parameters for everything. I just looked over the manual, but basically, I was able to figure out everything I needed to know to set up the radio according to my own preferences. You just have to approach it logically and with confidence.

Cons: Perhaps some older people of my generation may find the amount of adjustments they have available to them to be frightening: however, I am 67 years old, and I have always embraced new changes in technology. So my advice to them would be just to trust in their own ability to figure things out. Don't believe that myth that only young people are able to use new things. You too can enjoy these wonderful possibilities if you just have faith in yourself and use you mind.

Not much to say. Easy to use all the features we needed. AM, FM, Cd, aux, USB, and Bluetooth.

Pros: Makes stick speakers sound much better. Bluetooth streaming and quality is very good. Bluetooth calling is very clear. Looks good.

Cons: Lots of glare in certain lighting conditions. Possibly no changing of treble and bass except within the preset eq setting.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This stereo is really cool. The wiring schematics in the manual were really bad, but just call tech support from Crutchfield and they can give you the pinouts in a easily readable format. I am not very tech savvy and once i got the pinout, wiring went pretty well. I had a previous pioneer radio in the car. The removal keys did not work, so I had to do more than what I hoped, but it went well.

Pros: great sound. Bluetooth automatically syncs with your phone music (iPhone 4s) and starts from where it left of. Calls come in with a simple click of the large silver button or the phone button. Aux works, but bluetooth is better. haven't tried the USB input, but expect the same from that. The microphone is really good. called a few people and they said they could here me fine and audio was clear as well.

Cons: illumination has to be adjusted to suit your needs. I set my illumination to white on the display and a different color for all the buttons. Some colors are hard to see. But I would not let this dictate my decision.

Frankkm from Long Beach, CA on 3/8/2015

So i needed to replace the stock stereo in the 2001 Isuzu i had purchased and i was over using the cassette in order to play my music. So i purchased this over an alpine(which i regret doing) because it was $10 cheaper and it came with a remote. But when i got the stereo, i noticed something, my kicks were to hard and the 808 rolls sucked. It almost like it spent the time giving the kicks to mich power and not giving the 808's enough power. And i turn up the volume and and change all the settings and i still get the same result. If you don't listen hip hop, dont get this because it isnt tuned right. But it is a great value for money and it looks great.

Pros: Looks great, great value, detachable plate, remote, has a ton of features

Cons: The bass isnt sorted right, kicks way to hard and the 808 drum rolls dont roll due to the kicks, to complicated

Great value as far as I'm concerned...installed easily (with a bit of help from Crutchfield..thanks) and is a definite upgrade to my stock unit in my Nissan Frontier. I was looking for something that would let me use all my alternative music formats....Bluetooth, CD's, Pandora, USB....and this unit fits the bill nicely. Easy to use (jumped right on with Bluetooth, Pandora), sound is great with ample ways to tailor EQ's. The unit is reasonable in appearance...I don't put too much on the "coolness factor"....at my age, I don't need anything too flashy, just something that sounds good....didn't have it long, but build quality seems good enough.

    1999 Porsche Boxster
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on my '99 Boxster to replace the factory Becker unit. This car has a bulit-in amp. The instructions for the harness and RCA adapter were somewhat vague, and I had to go online a couple of times to ensure it was wired up correctly. The radio sounds good and the controls are pretty straight-forward. I especially like the ability to dial in the sound with the equalizer options, which allowed me to bring more midrange to my Kicker dash speakers (also purchased through Crutchfield). Only real negative, and this is more a matter of taste, is the chrome-looking knob and chrome strip that runs across the top of the unit. Unless you have shiny metal in your car, this will be a distraction. I wish the radio was a bit more understated, but again, this is more of a personal preference.

    Pros: Sounds good.

Cons: Wiring instructions a little vague, especially when using the RCA cables in conjunction with the harness. Radio looks a little cheap with the chrome features.

Satisfied customer, great car stereo, recommended, and would buy again

    2003 Toyota Matrix
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

TL;DR: Thumbs up all around, and I'd buy it again through Crutchfield in a heart beat. Bought this to replace a perfectly functional, but old, stock stereo in a 2003 Toyota Matrix. It was a birthday present for my wife. Wanted a "simple" stereo that does radio, CDs, has an AUX input on the front, and supports Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free calling. This one fit the bill and was from a trusted brand (Pioneer). The sound is decent, everything I've used so far just works, and it leverages the stock speaker setup just dandily. Boom shaka laka! (More in the Pros / Cons section below.) Just a word on Crutchfield. They. Are. Awesome. Think this is my third stereo from them, and the overall experience is simply the best. Their website is easy to navigate, get the info you need, and narrow down the bazillions of selections out there. The included installation kit they provide makes putting in the stereo yourself a snap. And the overall price is very fair. (Kudos, and keep up the tremendous work Crutchfield team!)

Pros: - Sounds decent - Bluetooth audio streaming from phone - Stereo face plate controls are linked to phone (play, pause, phone button, etc.); was pleasantly surprised by this as I didn't expect it! - Can receive calls via the stereo ie hands-free; mic sound quality is decent - Stereo includes a microphone and a super-long wire enabling mic installation just about anywhere you want in the vehicle - Customizable colors on stereo display can match car interior / gauges

Cons: - User interface is confusing and hard to use; stereo manual is confusing in terms of how to get to certain menu options - Face plate detach button is small and hard to press - Display is dimmer than I'd like under sunny, daylight conditions - Stereo manual does not explain what wire goes where. Thank goodness for the Crutchfield install kit; without it and its color-coded / labelled wires, installation would have been an impossible nightmore, probably resulting in a returned product.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this as a replacement to my stock radio in a 2011 ram 1500.. Huge upgrade from stock.. It powers 2 Kicker 6.5's in the front door without distortion from lack of power.. I have an amp powering the Kicker 6x9's in the rear and a mono amp powering 2 10's.. 5 band eq to help dial it in.. Big bang on a budget and this head unit does the job in that regard.. This unit is worth every penny and Crutchfield sweetens it further with free install gear...

Pros: Great features for the price. Bluetooth hands free, audio streaming, app control, very smartphone friendly, hpf, lpf (for sub control), 2 channel preamp, variable customize-able illumination, usb front, steering wheel control with adapter, The good certainly out weighs the bad.

Cons: Many functions and few buttons with a poorly thought out owners manual... Not really a con but I would like the preamp outs to be switchable. If you hook a sub amp to the rear out it leaves only the front channel for another amp with no fader ability.. Not a big deal to work around and certainly not a deal breaker...

The stereo takes a awhile to figure out how everything works but once you spend a little time with it it becomes easy and a bit more intuitive. I am impressed by the blue tooth setup, the streaming music from my phone and the sound quality of the phone is very good. This unit cost me $119.00 and it is worth every penny.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver was purchased to replace the stock radio in a 1997 Ford F-150. A great value which included everything needed for the removal and installation with the exception of wire connectors. This was my first ever self-install. Removal and installation of the units took a total of about 15 minutes. Wiring the harnesses took approximately 30 minutes. The only problems I encountered were wiring the harness (as this was my first time, I did not know what I was doing) and trying to mount the rear bracket to the receiver (there is no where to mount the included rear bracket on this receiver). Turns out the bracket is really not needed in this application. The receiver itself is packed full of features which are initially overwhelming but are nice after a little use. No problems pairing an IPhone 4 or streaming music by Bluetooth connection. I would recommend this receiver to anyone looking to replace or upgrade their receiver. My only complaint is the lack of instructions for wiring the system which is not an issue for someone who has previously installed a stereo (just match the colors if you have the wiring harness) and no instructions as to mounting the rear bracket.

Pros: Great value including all necessary items to install the unit. Easy to install. Decent instructions. Loaded with features.

Cons: Wiring connections somewhat confusing as there are no directions (my first ever radio install). There was no where to mount the rear bracket included with the install kit.

The Bluetooth (the primary reason I got it) and iPhone connectivity are exactly what I would expect. I would totally (and have) recommend this head unit to anyone looking for a great radio and not breaking the bank

Pros: interface is clean, functionality is what I expected, sound quality is a step up from factory, bluetooth sound is clear

Cons: It came with the install kit and the only thing it did NOT include were the crimp caps (used to build the wiring harness to plug into the factory cabling. I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for the whole package if they were included. As far as the system, I have nothing negative to say.

This CD player is perfect for what my son wanted in his first car. Bluetooth to control his music and make/receive phone calls, it displays the song info from the phone. Phone sound quality is great - doesn't echo or sound like a hall. Plenty of power for driving a simple speaker upgrade with two sets of outputs for adding a sub later. Comes with a remote also...don't judge, you'll grow to love it. With Pioneer's tuner quality and Crutchfield's included harness and mounting kit, what you get for what you pay can't be beat!

Pros: Bluetooth, multi-color display to match your dash, great looks, detachable face, great quality, can do tons of stuff

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was poised to buy this from Amazon, but the all included package from Crutchfield was very appealing and even worked out cheaper once I priced out all the parts I needed (wiring harness, aerial adapter, DIN adapter etc), so the instructions were a definite plus. Installation was pretty straighforward, although it took a little internet searching to make sure I was connecting the right wires on the harness adapter. It all went in fine and fired up first time. Sound quality is great, the wife loves the different inputs and being able to take calls over BT is a huge plus. It works very smoothly and the sound quality is great - so good that I had to tell my wife to not speak so loudly! The mic is clipped to the head lining just above the A pillar so it isn't affected by the sun shade. Overall I'm really impressed with Crutchfield and the wife is very happy with her new stereo with its many ways of playing music :)

Pros: easy install, everything I needed, good quality unit that does everything (and more) that we want.

Cons: none that I can think of. Perhaps a bit complicated to program with all the features? Having lots of features isn't much of a con though!

The main reason I purchased this radio was because of Bluetooth connection. My friend told me to buy a Pioneer and if I didn't like he'd buy it from me. I was completely blown away with the sound quality from this unit. Not only does it make my Kicker speakers sound better than my old Alpine, it looks awesome! The clarity from the radio, bluetooth, phone mic, and CD is perfect! It blew away Alpine. I never thought I would switch over to Pioneer! Crutchfield sent everything I needed to make installation a breeze at no extra charge, it took me about an hour. The only negative thing about Pioneer is that they did not include a case for the detachable face, I'm using my old Alpine case for that. Overall, I highly recommend this head unit!

I was hesitant to veer from the factory look in my F-150 and concerned an aftermarket receiver would look tacky. However, I wanted the ability to play music from my phone and had poor luck with adapters that convert the satellite input to AUX. I decided to pull the trigger on the DEH-X6700BT and I have been absolutely thrilled with the results. The installation was straightforward and the receiver looks great. The ability to change the display and key colors means you can adjust the look according to your mood. The audio playback from my phone is excellent with options for USB, AUX, and Bluetooth. I find myself primarily using the Bluetooth as it easy to set up and my phone pairs and the music starts playing before I have my seatbelt on. Overall, my only regret is not going this route sooner.

Pros: Looks classy and adjustable colors are a great feature. Provides several options for listening to music from a phone/tablet/MP3 player. The Bluetooth functionality is great for both music and phone calls. Straightforward installation.

Got this, reviews are great this is my 3rd one I get for each of my cars. The reason I got this receiver is for the hands free and it works perfectly fine. Has all kinds of settings to change the appearance and sound you need. Installation was super easy.

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After many moons our stock stereo finally gave up the ghost and died. There was much rejoicing. After a month of hemming and hawing, we settled on this Pioneer unit and slapped the money down. In reality, we were looking at one of the cheaper models, but the upsell benefits were enough to offset the cost. The inclusion of the wire harness and DIN pocket chassis were terrific. I purchased some extra tools to make things easier, and the included instructions were spot on. If I get voluntold to change out another stereo, I'm coming back to Crutchfield because of the customer service and products.

Pros: Easy directions to uninstall the old stereo, easy instructions to install the new hotness.

Cons: The Pioneer Apps to run through BT Android/iPhone are bupkis. Seriously, someone there is failing miserably at their job. There needs to be something like "Ideal IN-SURE #12-#20 Push-in 2-port Wire Connectors" or something along those lines for those of us who don't have tiny solder irons.

Can not be beat for the price!

This is not a high-end stereo but it IS loaded with High-end features. Bluetooth is great, easy to connect and the sound is clear and crisp. The cd plays well with clean high end as well deep bass without being muddy. Display is easy to read and has cool color options. Installation was a breeze! Very user friendly. Never even read the instructions!

Pros: Great value, bluetooth, great sound, neat display, easy to use.

Cons: The clock display seems squished! Too tiny.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this as a birthday gift for my son before he went back to college, and he loves it. Installation was fairly simple, it has all the features he was looking for, and he loves the bluetooth capabilities. I would absolutely recommend this receiver! His only complaint is that he can't adjust the equalizer as much as he wants, but he said the factory presets work well enough for him. We have it installed in a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero with the stock Infinity system. He used the mounting bracket from the stock radio, and did not use the provided faceplate that came with radio (it would not fit with the trim so close to the radio).

Pros: Clear sound, Bluetooth/USB/iPod, great price, easy installation (with provided parts from Crutchfield)

Cons: Limited equalizer adjustment, took time to get used to all the controls

Great sound and features, could use more sound adjustment

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid receiver for the money. Bluetooth/USB/Ipod work well, music is crystal clear, radio is strong, controls are pretty easy to use and navigate with. What I don't like is that the internal sound adjustment is slightly limited. Mostly in the bass area. There are a few areas in the lower frequencies that are adjustable, but the adjustments are small. The bass boost covers a wide range of bass, so it isn't too helpful either. The help of downstream equipment (amplifiers, processors, etc) are needed to tweak the sound further. I also don't like the dim display, as others have pointed out. I leave the auto dim feature off. Otherwise, it's a great start. Many other features to enjoy.

Pros: Pioneer brand, clear sound, bluetooth/USB/Ipod, good price

    Cons: Slightly limited sound adjustment.

Great upgrade! And let's face it, 120 bucks is really not a lot of money for a good receiver. It is a great fit for my needs and just easy enough to use with some intuition. Love the color options. Sweet power!

Pros: Great fit and good sound. Intuitive controls (for me...)

Cons: The volume knob is easily pushed when adjusting volume. And pushing engages the setup function and not volume. But it is a getting used to kind of thing.

Pros: Nice and crisp sound, AUX port, Bluetooth compatible. Really sells for itself.

Cons: I was having bluetooth issues but it turn out it was because of my phone that I rooted. I tried it out with other devices and I had no problem with little gaps in the sound.

I replaced the factory radio with this unit in a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The install kit that Crutchfield includes made it an easy job with satisfactory results. It was immediately apparent that a speaker upgrade would also be necessary with this head unit. I recommend assembling the wiring harness before beginning install.

Pros: BlueTooth works great. Display has several states that include a clock that is visible during daytime. The hands-free phone feature worked well with iPhone.

Cons: Buttons are a little small, but this is typical of 2" head units.

All the features I wanted for a great price. This unit sounds good although I would like a little more volume (just head unit no amp). The blue tooth functions are easy to set up and use. It looks great not too busy, the phone and volume buttons are easily accessible. There are a few more menus then I would like and changing the tonal quality involves going in the EQ area (no simple bass and treble adjustments) Overall I would recommend this unit based on value and appearance.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

excellent product, service, installation instructions and install products at a really good price. This was my first buy from Crutchfield, at first I thought the price was slightly high but then you have to keep in mind the DIN install face plate, wire harness adapter (which was car model specific), the install instructions (also car model specific), and free shipping (only 2 days). I turned out to be the lowest price plus I now have life time support for the product. This was the first auto stereo I've installed in years. Yes I have all the tools needed and am a hobbyist motor head (very handy) so it might not be that easy for a novice. The entire install took 3 hrs. and looks factory, I'm mean great, tight fit, no rattles doesn't budge. It really looks like a factory install. The Pioneer unit itself does all it says. Radio has much better reception than the factory radio, the cd/mp3 player is crystal clear, the blue tooth connects with my I phone instantly and is also crystal clear, now my 89 chevy has a legal hands free phone. I love it! I will say it takes a bit to get used to set up and figuring things out but not as bad as some of the reviews state. I noticed one of the biggest complaints was the brightness and changing colors but I found that vey easy to adjust. I have it set at low level brightness and was able to match and hold the same color as my dash lights. I find the sound also great but keep in mind I'm over 50 and don't like screaming music.

Pros: price was great, install guide and kit was also well thought out, shipping was fast and the pioneer unit itself works flawlessly!

Cons: the wire harness adapter wire colors were off on 3 wires so you need to double check where things go. There is no plug in that I could find to control a power antenna but I'm sure there's a way. For set up and use it takes a few hrs. of re-reading the manual but once you understand it gets easy

Install went super easy, elected to use the factory mounts etc and didn't need to use Crutchfields install kit. The only part I did use were 2 screws and the wiring harness. Adding some heat-shrink to the install kits would be a nice touch, so everything is included. Overall the HU is pretty easy to use and it paired easily with the iPhone 5C and 5 we have. We are still using stock speakers but this is a huge upgrade in sound clarity and power, so it makes them sound much better. The color changing and various EQ settings are great, and the digital display is fun without being distracting.

This unit was installed in an Acura RSX, and this vehicle is set up to accept a single height deck with no modifications. My goal was to make the install as similar to the stock unit as possible and this was easily accomplished. Did not need the dash kit (now a spare) or DIN adapter. The new Pioneer connected to the factory chasis with two screws on each side for a secure installation. The Pioneer wire harness is of smaller gauge wire than the adapter connector. Wish they had been of the same size. I soldered and heat shrinked the 13 connections. Service from Crutchfield was excellent. I called once to discuss install and once to discuss operating the unit. The most valuable info provided were written instructions on how to dismantle the dash and remove the factory unit (without breaking anything). The unit has a lot of features so a bit of trial and error is required to figure everything out. The variable illumination color was important to me for matching factory instrumentation. Quality of construction and sound meet or exceed expectations so far.

Pros: Exact fit for stock replacement. Crutchfield service.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently installed this head unit in my 2000 Ford F-150 Super Cab. The installation was very easy. I had to Google how to remove the trim pieces and found that to be very easy to do. Pulled out the factory head unit with the removal tools I received free from Crutchfield. I unplugged the factory harness and pulled out the antenna connection. Using the free installation gear I attached the sleeve that affixes to the trim and easily installed it in the factory opening. I wired up all of the connections with the harness that Crutchfield included for free (again). I would have to deduct points from Pioneer because their installations are never clear and they don't clearly list what the colored wires are for. I had this same problem with the other Pioneer unit I just installed in my vintage car. Once I made all of the connections I plugged in the wire harness to the factory harness, plugged in the phone mic, the antenna, and slid the head unit into place. If I used the trim piece that is included with the installation gear I found I could not take the face plate off of the Pioneer. If I used the trim piece Pioneer gives you then the face plate came off without any trouble. The Pioneer controls are easy enough to navigate once you spend a few minutes getting familiar with them. Again, this is the same unit I put in another vehicle so I didn't need to read through the instructions. Overall the head unit provides the Infinity speakers plenty of power to drive them with.

Pros: Attractive unit, easy to use, Plenty of power, Blue Tooth phone quality is very good, free installation gear

Cons: Wiring instructions aren't the clearest, Blue tooth stereo compression is just okay (I'm not a fan of BT stereo)

Bought this unit to replace my factory radio out of a 1999 Ford F250 Superduty this head unit by Pioneer was a great buy i bought it mainly for Aux & Bluetooth features the sound quality this unit produces is excellent it rattles my mirrors with factory speakers. I would recommend you buy this product from crutchfield it's easy to install with the included installation gear/manuals.

Pros: Bluetooth, Aux, Sound Quality, Ease of use, Color Selector, Brightness, Price.

Cons: Minor glare during daylight hours with brightness 100% with tinted windows. Other then that there is none!

Bought strictly for handsfree function. It works well for that. Paired with Samsung Galaxy S4. Still getting used to using bluetooth technology in the 2001 Honda Odyssey.

Pros: Handsfree. Finish. Multiple connection options.

Cons: Only runs front speakers for bluetooth calls.

Very happy with the radio. Given all the features including Blu-ray and phone mic as well as framing kit, it was a great price. Easy to hit the wrong button and turn off volume control, however.

    Pros: Features, price, installation

Cons: Easy for volume control to be togged off if you hit the wrong button. Problem if you need to turn off sound in a hurry.

Overall a good value purchase. Assembly was fairly straight forward if you take your time. 1) Remove factory radio - easy 2) Soldered the wires to the harness - moderate difficulty 3)Install dash kit - easy 4) Install new Pioneer - easy 5) Program Steering Wheel controls - moderate difficulty The Pioneer receiver put life back into my stock speaks. I like the Bluetooth option, but streaming sometimes gets interrupted. Solution - activate do not disturb on your iphone (not sure about android or other). The hands-free works flawlessly and is the primary reason I chose this receiver. Do I recommend this purchase - yes for the bluetooth. Maybe for streaming itunes, audiobooks, etc. Yes for the radio. Maybe for the steering wheel contols.

Pros: Bluetooth USB in front - charges iphone Pandora interface Overall turnkey install

Cons: interrupted streaming signal - however this can be solved programming steering wheel controls

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the second Bluetooth Deck that I purchased for a winter vehicle. I have to say it is far superior to my Kenwood.

Pros: The best feature is that this unit connects to my iPhone much faster than my other brand (less than 10 seconds) and it displays the time in a second location while displaying the track title. With my previous deck it was either a clock or the title and it was a pain to switch between the two.

Cons: For those that complained about the brightness, the unit is very bright on the sides especially with bright colors selected but if you change the color to red or orange on the keys it solves the problem. I do wish the unit would dim more when selecting a brighter color.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the fifth Pioneer CD Receiver I have purchased and installed in our autos. Three of the units were sold with previous vehicles. This one was installed in a 1986 Subaru GL with a Scosch kit. The mount took some finessing and I ended up using reversed rubber expansion nuts and 2" screws to secure the bezel to the dash. I am pleased with the end product.

Pros: Cost, sound, radio reception, ease of wiring

Cons: Fit with Scosch mounting kit was tight and took some creativity, but finished with no modifications to car or receiver (or kit) and really, this car is 28 years old - getting the install done in 1.5 hours is damn good!

It was great buying from Crutchfield as they gave me for free the wire harness and dim adapter for my car with my purchase.. It is a good value. Replaced a broken factory radio and just wanted the basics but found for a reasonable price i could also get blue tooth were i can take phone calls with auto answer in my car and hear to any of my phones app's

Pros: auto answer for the phone. It will stop the cd or switch from radio and anser the phone for me. I love it! The sound quality to the other person is way better than my phones built in mic. There was plenty of mic wire to get it all the way up to vizor.

Cons: i can't find the power button. some of the controls are not 100% intuitive. But I still like it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to use and easy to set up. Seems high quality. Everything works as you would expect it. Streams spotify over Bluetooth and can change tracks via the receiver. But you cannot browse playlists or anything like that over Bluetooth or USB. This could be far more ergonomic but as far as aftermarket goes it isn't terrible. Could have a bigger display. Lights on either side are far too bright even at the dimmest setting. Also has silly visual frills that are annoying. This was listed to fit in my car and it does. However I pretty much had to wedge prices of my dash back on. So it is an extremely tight fit.

Pros: Bluetooth quality Plays spotify Reliable

Cons: Ergonomics Too bright Lack of control for spotify

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have never been disappointed with a Pioneer head unit. I got this to install in my wife's Maxima and fell in love. To be a $100ish unit I can't imagine it getting much better. Everything about it is awesome. She loves it and so do I. The bluetooth is flawless and connects super fast. The display is bright and fully customizable. I love this unit. If you are wanting something flashy to show off I would go with the version with the digital screen but if you want something above average that more than gets the job done this is the one for you.

Pros: Style, customizable display, easy functionality, microphone is clear and easy to install, bluetooth is fast to connect.

Cons: Nothing above the top, but for the money this is an awesome unit.

Pioneer has always been my stereo brand of choice for sound and quality. This unit is no exception. It looks great and has all the cool modern features you get in a good oem stereo (Bluetooth, pandora, etc). My only issue is, with so many features in a small single din unit, it's a little confusing to use. I'll probably get used to it at some point, but driving and accessing features is difficult. Still a great stereo though.

    Pros: Looks, features, sound

    Cons: Difficult to use

Used it on our 2005 Subaru Outback, easy to install, and fits the interior of the car. Sound quality is good. We mostly use the iPod input or the Bluetooth input. The remote is somewhat handy. And it is convenient to control the iPod directly. But sometimes it is impossible to read the display during daytime, which is too dim. Otherwise, we are satisfied with it so far.

Pros: Good design Easy to use Very versatile Not difficult to install

First, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the FM tuner isn't quite as good as the Clarion factory unit it replaced...but at least it has an FM signal strength meter. The quality of the display is excellent and Pioneer made good choices in how song info is listed. USB access to WMA/MP3 is fast when scrolling thru a ton of folders. Using Optimus F3 and L90 phones, Pandora operation has been pretty reliable, although switching phones will add a delay and maybe a connection error on 1st attempt. Note that for Bluetooth streaming, audio quality may vary depending on the version of Android your phone runs. I have not been able to get Slacker working with the App mode, although there is conflicting info online as to whether this is even supported. Menu and function operation is easy to learn and the Bluetooth hands-free calling works fairly well although there are no ringers to choose or MIC-adjustments.

I installed this radio to make a planned long distance trip more enjoyable.... since the stock unit had died. The quality is fantastic. The Bluetooth works far better than I imagined and makes calls much safer while blasting down the interstate. I recently purchased a Corvette (with a dead Bose system in it) and plan to install the same Pioneer unit in it. I highly recommend this.

I almost bought a Kenwood deck but could not find the same model I had purchased last year, for a different vehicle, so I decided to go with this Pioneer model. And boy am I HAPPY!!!!! This unit has a great sound right out of the box! You can customize the a 5 band equalizer and it has multiple setting for bass boost, loudness, and amp settings! You can customize the display to fit your current lighting configuration inside you vehicle. The functions, buttons, and settings are easy to use and get the job done. Also, this model has Bluetooth with a external mic so you have clear sound and can use you cell devise legally. I would recommend this unit to anyone!!!
