Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

My wife uses this in her car to mainly listen to audio presentations she downloads on a flash drive. She loves it. The bluetooth for the phone works very well.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The FH-X700BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth ver. 3.0 (powered by Parrot), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. Bluetooth Technology is a short-range wireless radio connectivity technology that was developed as a cable replacement for mobile phones and other electronic devices. Bluetooth operates in 2.4 GHz frequency range and transmits voice and data at speeds up to 1 megabit per second.

Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Secure Simple Pairing (SPP): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the FH-X700BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings (your phone must also support SSP). When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. Up to 3 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be registered to this head unit. Only one device can be used at a time. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer FH-X700BT.

Hands-Free Communication: The FH-X700BT supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/HSP/OPP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The FH-X700BT allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the FH-X700BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

    • Speed (Preset) Dialing: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
    • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Call Log: The most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.

External Microphone: During your wireless phone call, you can talk into the head unit's included external microphone, and listen to the other party through the vehicle's speaker system. The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth). The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Pioneer FH-X700BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The head unit can stream music stored on your Bluetooth enabled device or music apps you have downloaded on your device. The FH-X700BT will be able to control basic playback features; Play, Pause, & Skip Tracks (app must also support). The head unit will also display your music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (app must also support). When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call.

Voice Recognition for iPhone: The Pioneer FH-X700BT also supports voice recognition for a Bluetooth-connected iPhone. When in Bluetooth mode, simply press-and-hold the head unit's 3-way rotary dial to activate the voice recognition function. You can then talk into the head unit's external microphone to access music & phone voice commands of your iPhone.

    USB/iPod/Aux Connection

Front-Panel USB Input: The unit's front-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) compliant device; such as your Android smartphone, portable digital audio player, or USB thumbdrive. Your USB MSC compliant device must be formatted in FAT 12/16/32. The unit can play back MP3 (8-320kbps)/WMA (48-320kbps) audio files stored on a USB device. It can also play back WAV (8/16-bit, 16/48kHz) audio files. Up to 8 directories, 500 folders, and 15000 files per USB device are recognized by this unit. In addition, the unit is compatible with ID3 Tags and will display artist, folder, file, and album name. USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (1A) and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

Note: This unit cannot recognize USB devices via a USB hub.

iPod Direct Connection w/ DAC Bypass: The Pioneer FH-X700BT's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your iPod/iPhone to the head unit, via Pioneer's dock connector-to-USB cable (130CDIU51, sold separately) or the dock connector-to-USB cable which comes with your iPod/iPhone. The FH-X700BT supports audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of your compatible iPod/iPhone. The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's stored music to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 94dB. The Pioneer head unit supports audio playback of music, podcasts, audiobooks, and music apps stored on your iPod or iPhone. The head unit will display your iPod/iPhone's stored music file information, including - Track number, Folder number, Elapsed playing time, Song title, Artist name, and Album title. The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it. You can choose to operate your iPod/iPhone through the head unit's front-panel controls, from its clickwheel/touchscreen, or via a streamed app from your iPhone.

    • Head Unit: From the head unit, you can browse your iPod/iPhone's music library by Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Playlist, Composer, Podcast, or Audiobook (your iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen will be locked). Once you have selected a category, you can search each category alphabetically. In addition, the head unit offers Link Search, which allows you to play songs related to the currently playing song. Link Search lets the head unit create an album list of the currently playing artist, a song list of the currently playing album, or an album list of the currently playing genre. You can also select Random & Repeat functions for a certain song or specific folder.
    • iPod: In iPod mode, you can navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen, while still viewing song/artist information on the head unit's LCD.
    • App Mode: App mode lets you listen to your favorite music apps, such as iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Rhapsody, & Slacker from your iPhone (iOS 3.0+) through the Pioneer head unit and your vehicle's speakers. Not all apps will be compatible with App Mode and App Mode will provide only limited (basic), if any, control over the app. Available controls may include: Play/Pause & Skip Previous/Next. There is no music information displayed when this unit is set to 'App Mode'. Instead, all music information will be displayed on your iPod/iPhone's LCD screen. The head unit's LCD will only display the text - 'App Mode'.
Note: If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit.

Pandora App: The free Pandora App lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer FH-X700BT using your connected Apple iPhone, via the Pioneer CD-IU51 iPod connector cable (sold separately) or the USB/iPod dock cable that came with your iPhone. To access Pandora you must have an Apple iPhone 2G/3G/3GS (iOS 3.0+), iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0+), iPhone 4S (iOS 5.0+), or iPhone 5 (iOS 6.0+) with the latest version of the Pandora Radio application from Apple's iTunes App Store. Your iPhone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. You will also need a Pandora music service account. The Pioneer FH-X700BT will provide control over the Pandora music service and display Artist/Album/Song information.

    • Station List: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z).
    • QuickMix: QuickMix allows you to listen to songs played on one or more Pandora stations in your Station List randomly. You will need to edit your QuickMix station selections on the iPhone before connection.
    • Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
    • Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
    • Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.
Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The FH-X700BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the FH-X700BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Equalizer: The Pioneer FH-X700BT features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

Bass Boost The FH-X700BT features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.

Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

4ch/2V Preamp Outputs: The Pioneer FH-X700BT features two pair of 2.0-volt preamp outputs. The unit's rear preamp outputs can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs with a low-pass filter, phase adjustment, and output level control.

Subwoofer Control: When the head unit's preamp output is configured as a subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-6/-12dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -6dB or 12dB.

Switchable Rear Channel/Subwoofer Speaker Output: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

    Radio Functions

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.

BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.

Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

    Display Features

Multi-Line Display: The Pioneer FHX700BT features a multi-line, multi-segmented LCD with LED backlight to display CD-Text, MP3/WMA-tags, iPod/iPhone metadata, Bluetooth info, and RDS.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 27 preset colors (White to Rose), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red, Blue, and Green brightness levels), or scan through various color settings (All/Warm/Ambient/Calm/Custom).

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose among twelve patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music. You can also choose which area's of the head unit's face illuminates; select Display, Keys, Both or Off.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can select between the clock display or the audio track/tuner display.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.

2-DIN Chassis: The Pioneer FH-X700BT has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double DIN" or size DD), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is also an optional double-DIN sleeve (130ADTV133, sold separately) available for this unit that will allow you to Euro-mount or custom mount the Pioneer head unit in your vehicle.

Note: As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The FH-X700BT comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause the CD, change the display, and adjust the audio. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel). In addition, you can answer/end calls from a Bluetooth connected smartphone.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The X700BT is not SiriusXM compatible. You could use a dock and play unit to plug in the front Aux input or stream the SiriusXM app through your phone to the unit. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Dec 10, 2014 ]  Staff

I have this mounted in my 99 ford f250 super duty and it is pretty sweet unit. It sits pretty flush like the OEM unit dis. Hope this helps. Oh,.....it does let you stream pandora and I-Heart from your android phone. [ LOREN J  Dec 01, 2014 ]
My unit is about 1/4" out from the dash. [ BRITTNI  Nov 30, 2014 ]
I believe it is due to the angle at which its mounted, as well as being installed at the top of the dash. I don't see any solution to those 2 issues other than all out relocation. And it's not bad enough to do that. Just a annoying when switching inputs. I have tinted windows as well and it still has too much glare to see it. Thanks for the responses. [ sgosa  Nov 18, 2014 ]
I have had this radio installed in my 2003 Jetta for over a year now and have never had any problems with viewing the display. If anything, I can't dim it enough at night during long drives back and forth to FL. [ JASON J  Nov 18, 2014 ]

Yes this is one thing i can say it lacks in sun out no go but i run mine almost 100% off my ipod so i don't really have to worry about turn it on and pay ipod i do this because the radio has nothing good on it any more witch is sad but life is life this mite not have helped or maybe gave you an idea to just get a mp3 player and go for it it doesn't have to be an apple but it is set up to play them well good luck and happy travel [ SARALYN  Nov 18, 2014 ]
I installed mine in a Ford F250 and have found no problems in the brightness of the face. My only problem is with a little static when near high power lines. [ ROBERT M  Nov 18, 2014 ]
I have never had this problem. But I habe tinted car Windows. The unit is pretty much as bright as the picture. Good Luck [ ROBERT SMITH PO  Nov 18, 2014 ]

If you are in Bluetooth Mode you can use the buttons above the BIG ROUND knob to go forward and backward, you should see the track name/artist on the display. If you are using a USB stick with music loaded on it, it will only display the naming scheme you created in your computer files. Hope this helps... VG [ Vincent  Oct 31, 2014 ]

I've had this unit for a year now in my f250 super duty and it works great with my motorola droid HD. You can control pandora and I Heart radio. Only draw back is that it wont show you any info in the head unit what is playing. Only shows on your phone....BUT you can skip to the next song via your head unit. Hope it helps. Yes, I had to remove a brkt too.....it will be ok [ DAVID  Sep 02, 2014 ]
What you see is probably the old mounting bracket. These stereos are often not a direct fit and you do have to remove the old mount. I had to cut mine off with a hacksaw. Not a lot of room. You might want to call the Crutchfield help line [ DAVID  Sep 01, 2014 ]

When I use the tuner the artist's ñame does not display either. [ LUIS A GONZALEZ  Aug 03, 2014 ]
Hi Rolland. I no longer have the vehicle that I installed this tuner in but when I did I had the same issues. I did note that when I got closer to the source, in my case Providence, RI, the info would be displayed with much more consistency. I do live in a small town about 25 miles from most of the station sources that I was listening to and while in my immediate area the info would not be displayed. My guess is that it's an inherent problem in the tuner of this unit. Maybe a lack of adequate sensitivity or selectivity within the tuner itself. Overall I was happy with it, but you are certainly not alone in this matter. Hope this helps. [ JACQUELYN J J  Aug 01, 2014 ]
The Pioneer comes with everything you need to hook it up, but you will need a wiring harness for your specific vehicle that crutchfield can provide. I have never tried to connect anything to the aux. port of the stereo so I am not the person to answer that question. I'm sure you will be pleased with the Pioneer FH-X700BT, CD playback sounds fantastic. [ ROY  Aug 01, 2014 ]
Yes. It will work with Aux but best to use Bluetooth. It comes with mostly everything you need. You might need a different harness. Any Crutchfield rep can help you with that. [ WAYNE  Aug 01, 2014 ]
Yes the aux would work with the HTC One, but the way I would (and do) use it would be with the bluetooth mode. Everything you need to install the Pioneer comes from Crutchfield and as long as you take your time and read over the instructions first you should be fine. The mounting faceplate and wiring harness are all included. [ ROLLAND  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Hello Jasmine I have two of these. I installed both myself. I did not need anything from outside. Crutchfield sent everything you may need. The aux can be used for any phone that has stereo pin output. Yes it will work. The only thing is that if you have steering volume controls - they will not work with this unless you buy separate adapter. I did not buy that. Hope this answers your questions. [ NAMIT Y  Jul 31, 2014 ]
I hooked up all kinds of phones with the Bluetooth the auxiliary works with the USB cord and works great...easy to install with kit from Crutchfield....one thing about this unit is the led are bright and no way to dim them. I had a dark towel over mine with my extra keys on the dash it was blinding at night and early morning I sold the car and let it go with it. [ KEITH  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Are you 100% sure? Have you checked if you could tune to, for example, 100.2 FM frequency? Because I'm going to take this receiver with me for my trip to Europe, and their radio stations only broadcast on even frequencies (while US stations are odd numbered, like 104.5)... [ Chris  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Yes, as Well As AM frequencies [ FORREST  Jul 31, 2014 ]
And I totaly understand your concern, however this deck does not have a re moveable front plate it's built on as one. However you shouldn't have any kind of problems with it getting stolen cause I still have mine in my car. And not facing any issues. [ BRIAN  Aug 01, 2014 ]
It is not easily removable. It does not have detachable face. [ NAMIT Y  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Greg...I can assure you that this unit getting stolen shouldn't be an issue. I don't believe it's removable and even if it is I can't imagine the holding case for it...lol. If you want a removable deck this unit isn't for you Theo [ THEO  Jul 31, 2014 ]
It is a large unit and is easy enough to install but it would be difficult to pull it out and put it back every time you park your car. I would recommend a smaller unit with a removable face plate that you could take with you when you park your car. [ WILLIAM B  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Keep your vehicle locked. Install an alarm system or park it in highly visable areas. This stereo actually cost less than replacing one of the windows of my suburban so you really just need to think about which one you could do without! [ KURTIS  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Faceplate is not detachable so you cant hide it... unless you make some kind of conversion to your car and install a slideable cover, but it is not included. [ IVAN  Jul 31, 2014 ]
Yes, you can run your sub up to the preamp outputs. When you are done hooking everything up you have to go into the operating controls and turn the subwoofer setting on. [ ROY  Aug 01, 2014 ]
Hey man, only the sub pre-outs have a built in xover. you can use it with an amp that doesn't have one. The others are full range. Hope this helps! [ COREY R  Jul 25, 2014 ]
Yes, and the filter is adjustable and there is a sub level as well. [ SCOTT  Jul 25, 2014 ]
Yes there is an option in the "audio" section of the menu. [ MICHAEL L  Jul 25, 2014 ]

I found the problem and solved it. The blue/white wire from the aftermarket stereo (Pioneer) was taped and labeled "Remote Control" so I did not connect it. In fact, it is not the Remote Control but the wire that handles the built in Amp. Once I connected that it all worked fine. Thanks for everyone's help. [ ddispen  Jul 10, 2014 ]
Sounds like a support question. Didn't have any issues like that, so don't know what to tell you about the issue you are having. [ BARRY  Jul 10, 2014 ]
Don't understand what you mean by "Harness was set to 7"?? I never had to set anything on mine. Took harness adapter and joined speaker wires together and taped off the wires I didn't use. Please explain..... [ LOREN J  Jul 09, 2014 ]
sorry to hear that. but when I order my. all I have to do was connect the harness from the truck to the new harness I order with the stereo. to fit my truck.if I were you I will test the connections of the wires before you solder them to make sure you have sound.this has been the easiest one I have ever install.. [ TONY  Jul 08, 2014 ]
I believe the radio has the option to turn off internal amp I am not sure check to see if that is off or on. If it is off everything will work but there will be no sound. [ JENNY  Jul 08, 2014 ]

The volume sometimes decreases without me having to manually using the volume knob. What is the cause for that? [ D.Lathem  Nov 26, 2014 ]
There is a support bracket behind where your old stereo was. When you take it out you will see it. This new stereo might be longer so that bracket will prevent it from your new stereo to sit against the front bezel. So just bend the rear bracket back making space for this stereo to go as far back into the slot as possible. [ JUAN  Jul 01, 2014 ]
Dont worry, just make sure to get ALL the optional installation parts from crutchfield. You will not need to do anything. I installed it on my Expedition. [ latin625  Jun 30, 2014 ]
This means that the factory system may be either longer or shorter than the replacement unit and that the mounting for that factory system is via a bracket behind the system. That bracket may have to be bent either in or out to accommodate the new unit. Or it could be that the bracket will not be used for the new system and needs to be bent up or down to allow for clearance of the wiring harness. I wouldn't let this deter you from selecting that head unit as Crutchfield performs extensive fit testing for all units...if they say it can be done, I have complete faith that it can. [ Derek  Jun 29, 2014 ]
It said the same thing for me (Grand Am 2001) and its really easy, car has some plastic supports beyond the factory HU, just broke them because this stereo is a bit deeper than the factory unit, but that was it, made of plastic so no problem breaking it. If you dont do it, the HU wont go deep enough for you to close everything back again. [ IVAN  Jun 28, 2014 ]
you may have an antenna amplifier, I forget which wires, possibly those are the blue, blue/white wires mentioned. If you don't have the amplifier connected, you won't get good reception. [ STEVEN  Jun 14, 2014 ]
Make sure the blue or blue/ white wire is connected - may have to splice in [ STEPHEN D  Jun 14, 2014 ]
i had to disconnect one of my antenna's from the factory. Only using one now...maybe if you have two switch to the other? [ Dan  Jun 12, 2014 ]
    yes [ ABNER  Jun 10, 2014 ]
    Yes [ RANDY  Jun 04, 2014 ]
If your looking for bluetooth and other features this is a good radio but power wise my factory seemed like it had more power. [ JENNY  Jun 04, 2014 ]
Yes you can, you just won't be able to use the phone option(s) available on the unit. [ RUBEN  Jun 03, 2014 ]
yes you will be able to use your stereo like any other stereo.the microphone is just and extra fixture. [ TONY  Jun 03, 2014 ]
Yes. You can still use the stereo. [ STEPHEN L  Jun 03, 2014 ]
Yes. You just wouldn't be able to use the Bluetooth microphone part. [ BARRY  Jun 03, 2014 ]

I am pretty sure which ever device connects first is going to hold the connection not letting the other devices connect. You would have to Bluetooth the phone and aux port the audio device which also might override the audio connection when a phone call comes in. Your best bet is to get a smartphone that can handle your audio library. [ DAN  Apr 29, 2014 ]
I have tried that without success, so far. Depending on the devices you have, and their ability to separate the channels, it may be possible. With my phone and bluetooth player, it wasn't able to use both at the same time. It did, however, connect...so I believe it is possible. In the bluetooth menu of the phone, I was able to select phone only, leaving the media portion open, then connect the audio device, which seemed to only take the audio portion. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell with the audio device if it was trying to take both [it had the capability]. If you have any luck with this, please post. It seems we both want the same functionality, so maybe it is just a matter of a different device. [ ALEJANDRO  Apr 29, 2014 ]
Only one device is able to be connected to it at once. I have tried to have two connected...one for phone one for music, it does one or the other. [ BRIAN C  Apr 29, 2014 ]
Does this unit simultaneously pair two different smart phones? [ Nance  Jul 24, 2014 ]
yes it will and it will run all features on an I pod touch if you have one hooked up through blue tooth it will pause whats playing and switch over to phone. this is one of the best radios i have ever had i haven't found anything it cant do so far i hope this helps you out good luck [ SARALYN  May 01, 2014 ]
Yes, it pauses the audio for incoming calls. It also pauses Pandora radio for calls. It does not pause my Sirius XM for phone calls since it is set up on the aux setting and not directly in the receiver. [ JASON J  Apr 29, 2014 ]
    Yes [ CARLOS O  Apr 28, 2014 ]
Yes it will pause, both cases you're asking. [ IVAN  Apr 28, 2014 ]
But does it actually pause it or just override it so you hear the phone instead of the audio? [ Brian  Apr 28, 2014 ]
yes it does...I love this radio. Any notification will pause the bluetooth. txt, phone call, etc. Hope that helps!! [ THEO  Apr 28, 2014 ]
    Yes. [ STEVEN  Apr 28, 2014 ]
Yes it does an incoming will over ride the music [ JOSEPH R  Apr 28, 2014 ]

    It works on the iPhone 5c. [ DUSTIN  Apr 16, 2014 ]
I am not sure. I have an iphone 5 and it does work. I use the cable to connect it so it sounds better. Beware that wiring this stereo is a bear. If you have a chevy like I do and have to use the special GMOS, I hope you have an electrical engineering degree or work for NASA. The directions are horrible and phone support was non-existent. Ryan, I'm no expert, but here is my experience with the Pioneer FH-X700BT and my Droid RAZR M: I have always played Pandora, iHeart, etc with this unit using the Bluetooth connection. Works just fine. Since you specifically ask about the USB port connection, I had to do some testing. Here's what I've learned: couldn't get Pandora (didn't try iHeart) to work at all. I referred to the manual, and it seems to imply that Pandora via USB works only with iPhone units. So if Pandora via USB is important, then this may not be the unit for you. Hope I've been of some help. [ LYNNE  Apr 17, 2014 ]
You can with no problems, but I would just do blue tooth no wires [ RANDY  Apr 07, 2014 ]

Yes,it has a wired microphone so you can run where you want it. [ JESSE J  Feb 05, 2014 ]
It has a separate wired mic, you can place it anywhere that fits most in your car, it has to be plugged in the back of the HU. [ IVAN  Feb 05, 2014 ]
Hi Stephen, The unit came with a seperate microphone that plugs into the back of the unit. The cable for the Mic is really long so you can route it through various crevases of the dash to whatever location you like. I routed it behind the dash, then behind the instrument pannel, and now it finally rests right in front of the glass that covers the speedo gage. It's a small mic with a small black clip. The bottom of the clip is flat so you can apply double sided tape (red 3M holds up great) and tape it to whatever flat surface you have. I have no issues with people hearing me what so ever. Sorry to be so long winded about this; I'm very satisfied with this product and Crutchfield! [ IVOR  Feb 05, 2014 ]
Yes it has a wired microphone that can be placed were you want it. [ JOSEPH  Feb 05, 2014 ]
It has a separate mic for the hands free. It has a long wiring harness that allows you to mount it most anywhere. I have mine mounted on the A piller trim piece that meets the headliner. It's a great head unit, with great functions [ PATRICK  Feb 05, 2014 ]

Anything on your iPhone can be played using the earphone connecter plug or USB cord. If you use USB the Pioneer gives you more control. I use blue tooth for Pandora and don't have other music on my phone, but I assume if the phone can play it, BT audio will broadcast it [ IRA  Feb 01, 2014 ]

Yes and no. You can plug it in to charge your phone and it also try's to find music files but it has never worked for me. If you have a device that runs android then more than likely it has Bluetooth which I suggest you use if you are trying to listen to music through your phone/tablet. [ JOE  Jan 23, 2014 ]
It does... However if you have Bluetooth on your phone its even better then using the cable. [ Vincent  Jan 23, 2014 ]
    Yes [ ROBERT  Jan 23, 2014 ]

To the best of my knowledge, yes. As long as your I-phone has Bluetooth, this receiver will send and answer any call that your phone receives as long as the unit is turned on and you have your phone with you. [ ROY  Jan 01, 2014 ]

When you mention "plug straight in," what exactly do you mean? You will also need to match the wires from the new radio to your wires existing in your dash that send the signals to you front speakers, rear speaker and door chimes if you have them. I'd recommend getting the wiring harness specific to your vehicle that matches up the wiring for you minus a few specific wires for battery and aux 12v if your truck has one - usually already included if you order from crutchfield. You have the antennae adapter part right but also need this key part to "plug straight in" - it makes the install process far easier and eliminates the need to modify your factory wiring as a result [ GLIDE-ON  Dec 30, 2013 ]
You will need to replace the wiring harness which I believe Crutchfield will supply you with. Hope this helps. [ WAYNE  Dec 30, 2013 ]
Not sure. I purchased the pioneer FH-x700bt for my sons Chevrolet cruze. The instructions were not up to the quality I was used to from Crutchfield. I was very disappointed. [ JOSEPH M  Dec 30, 2013 ]
Hello Ryan...I bought two of these to put in my cars. My minivan had steering audio controls but I did not buy adapters since I did not want any controls on the steering wheels. I just put the piece into its place as per the instructions and its working fine. The second unit was installed on Toyota Camry with no audio controls on steering wheel. The same type of installation in Camry as well. I DID NOT NEED anything else except what Crutchfield send me - the harness needed for installation. Hope this helps. [ NAMIT Y  Dec 30, 2013 ]
I have this unit and it is ridiculously bright with no way to dim it and yes it will fit and work without any other adapters [ KEITH  Dec 30, 2013 ]
I like the Pioneer better because of it's features. Bluetooth, ipod, and iphone compatible. Preamp outputs for an external amp And an output for a subwoofer. There's a lot of bang for your buck with this receiver [ ROY  Jan 01, 2014 ]
Haven't had any hands on with the jvc but i have the pioneer and its great no problem with this unit at all. The blue tooth and connectivity is great and with over 250,000 color combinations it will match any vehicle bash color..... Hands down great stereo for a great price..... [ THOMAS  Dec 31, 2013 ]
The controls are difficult to figure out. I had to file the dash plastic to get it to fit. I love the Bluetooth feature. Listen to music via my cellphone. [ WILLIAM  Dec 30, 2013 ]
I like Pioneer unit since it has many connectivity possibilities - Bluetooth for audio, Bluetooth for phone, USB, input jack to connect ipod etc, CD, radio (AM & FM)...not HD radio, multicolor customizable lights, phone directory can be accessed from the unit if you are on bluetooth connectivity. The music stops playing with incoming calls. I am happy. [ NAMIT Y  Dec 30, 2013 ]
    It's in the 60 mark and sounds great!!!!! [ GREG  Dec 29, 2013 ]
    40 or 50. At 30 it's loaf as heck in my gto [ CHRISTOPHER  Dec 29, 2013 ]
The radio goes up to i believe, 50 51, i never tried it because i have mine hooked up to a equalizer, and along with that, a crossover, and also 2 12" kicker cvrs. so i really dont play it that loud. but to tell you now, the only downside about the radio is the LCD, during the day time you cant see nothing.. Other wise to that the radio is perfect. [ BRIAN  Dec 29, 2013 ]
hello there the highest it will go is 40 on the radio but i'm running some really good kenwoods in all 4 doors and one set is is component and i run an extra set of tweeters in the front part of the cab and i cant turn it up past 32 it has power and it sounds good but i love the blue tooth for my ipod get in and go. I hope this helps you out with your question [ SARALYN  Dec 29, 2013 ]

Will this radio fit in a 95 Chevy? And what will I need to install it? [ Tyler  Dec 31, 2013 ]
The rear have one for Subwoofer, and also, for the Front ( Mids and highs) AUX for ipod, iphone, andriod (etc) aux is to be used in the front because, its the only connectivity, why not use bluetooth instead its less clutter. [ BRIAN  Dec 29, 2013 ]
It does not have 1.... I have to run it thru the front connection. [ WILLIAM  Dec 27, 2013 ]
Jeff: I like the stereo once it got installed. I really do not know what it has for an aux plug. Customer service was hardly any help at all in wiring this pile of spaghetti together. I had to buy the special harness for my Silverado truck and it was a disaster. I am not an idiot, but the phone support made me feel like an idiot. The instruction were so poor, you had to be NASA engineer to understand any of it. I finally 'paid a local stereo shop $100.00 to wire it correctly and install the stereo. The stereo works great though. [ DAVID  Dec 27, 2013 ]

    Yep! [ Vincent  Dec 22, 2013 ]
I'm not sure. You can line in , USB with this head unit but not sure of wiring. Sorry I wasn't more helpful ! [ AMY L  Dec 19, 2013 ]

    yes, does [ HUGO R  Dec 16, 2013 ]
Yes if that. Radio station allows it [ RANDY  Dec 15, 2013 ]
Yes it will. Unfortunately it stays in the setting you have it so it does not display the clock at the same time. Other than that, a great purchase. I installed in my1993 Corvette and love it. [ HOWARD  Dec 14, 2013 ]
I don't know. I think it depends on where you are located. I think it also depends on whether or not the radio station broadcast that signal I don't think all stations do. Hope this helps. [ BARRY  Dec 14, 2013 ]
Yes, if the station broadcasts the info. Some in our area only broadcast station ID or only certain songs. [ JEFFREY  Dec 14, 2013 ]

It looks like the steering wheel adapters are in the $70 range. A quick call or online chat with an Advisor will help ensure that you get the right adapter for your vehicle. The volume from this receiver should be fine. It should have at least as much power as your factory system (and likely more). [ Jeff  Dec 10, 2013 ]  Staff
Thanks for your questions Juan. I don't think we can say whether someone will break into your vehicle to steal the radio or not. That is always a concern, and an alarm system may be worth looking into. As far as tearing apart the days - getting any radio out of a dash without the proper tools will likely mean having to damage the dash. [ Jeff  Dec 06, 2013 ]  Staff
Please reach out to an Advisor to discuss the install options for your vehicle. They'll be able to ensure that you get the proper kit and harness for your vehicle. [ Jeff  Nov 27, 2013 ]  Staff

You need to use the mic that comes with the unit. [ ROY  Jan 01, 2014 ]
    Thanks Jeff [ Gordon  Nov 26, 2013 ]
The FH-X700BT comes with a mic in the box. This allow you to use the Bluetooth connection for making and receiving calls (in conjunction with the car speakers). [ Jeff  Nov 26, 2013 ]  Staff

I asked that question of tech support and I was told that I did not need it. You may want to change your speakers. [ CHERYLE B  Nov 27, 2013 ]
Yes, It is sub-compatible. The associated Audio/video outs are present. The install is the same as any other aftermarket deck. [ CONNOR  Nov 26, 2013 ]
You can add an amp to this unit. Typically for a subwoofer you would connect it to the rear pre-amp outputs, but it will depend on your set-up. Feel free to reach out to an Advisor for more information on picking out the best gear for your system. [ Jeff  Nov 26, 2013 ]  Staff
.No, The lights can not be turned off. You can turn the lights to just one solid color or have the buttons one color and the information led display another [ LOREN J  Nov 22, 2013 ]
I'm not in front of my radio but you can set your main display and key display the same color or separate from each other. I don't think there is a setting to just turn off the lights itself. Hope this helps? [ VICTOR L  Nov 22, 2013 ]
Yes you can pick any of the colors and stay w/it. There is a "dim" setting but it is still a little bright, overall a great unit [ DAVID  Nov 22, 2013 ]
You can't turn them off, however this unit allows you to set one color from a library of many colors so you can match your factory dash lights. [ Vincent  Nov 22, 2013 ]
There are 25+ colors to choose from, you can have it on a color changing setting or single color. When dimmer turned on it is very bright at night they need to offer a illumination wire to vehicle dimmer switch. Gotta say that the dimmer issue is my only complaint after 3+ months of using stereo. [ AARON E  Nov 22, 2013 ]
I'm not sure if you can turn them off but you can change to one color. Pressing the main knob will bring you to a selection of options. Something like menu, audio, and one of them is illumination. By selecting illumination, you can use the knob to change the color. [ CELIA D  Nov 22, 2013 ]
No the lights are pretty bright at night but u can dim them a bit. In the daytime its kind of hard to see the numbers but the head unit is awesome. [ ERNESTO  Nov 22, 2013 ]
You can change the colors to whatever you want, some are brighter than others, it has a dimmer button but i dont notice much difference. You can even have it alternate between all the colors which my wife likes, but gets distracting for me at night. I usually pick a dim color when i drive it at night. [ MICHAEL  Nov 22, 2013 ]
Thanks for your questions Josh. I would recommend contacting one of our Advisors to discuss how to retain factory steering wheel controls, and to see if you can retain the XM. Hi Nate. The install notes on Accord list: 1. Modifications to your vehicle's sub-dash are required. 2. After you install this kit, the door to the factory pocket just below the kit will no longer function. You can either lock the door in the open position or purchase a replacement pocket. For further details on the install please feel free to call or chat with an Advisor. [ Jeff  Nov 12, 2013 ]  Staff
