Our take on the Pioneer DEH-X7500HD

Your media choices are greater than ever these days. Pioneer's DEH-X7500HD receiver not only plays CDs, it also features a USB input for a storage device, iPod®, or phone, along with an auxiliary input for other audio devices. But what if radio's still #1 during your drive time?

When you want the most from radio

Your media choices are greater than ever these days. Pioneer's DEH-X7500HD receiver not only plays CDs, it also features a USB input for a storage device, iPod®, or phone, along with an auxiliary input for other audio devices. But what if radio's still #1 during your drive time?

The DEH-X7500HD features a built-in HD Radio™ tuner, so you won't need a subscription or any extra equipment to enjoy HD Radio broadcasts — you'll tune them in like regular AM and FM shows. But that's where the similarity ends. You'll immediately notice that FM broadcasts on HD Radio sound nearly as good as CDs, while AM shows offer much more high-fidelity, static-free reception. Many participating stations also offer extra channels with alternate programming, so you can enjoy more variety without surfing the dial.

Pioneer DEH-X7500HD

MIXTRAX revs up the visuals

This versatile receiver also offers iPod® controls and Pandora® Internet radio control with your iPhone®, giving you a great mix of style, form, and function. And when you're listening to your music libraries, Pioneer's cool MIXTRAX feature adds a lightshow to your favorite playlists, as the DEH-7500HD's bright multi-colored display pulses in time with your music. And MIXTRAX fades in and out of each song just like a DJ would, adding special effects and keeping the musical energy high.

Killer display and colors

You're not stuck with one color scheme with this Pioneer. Both the knob and display colors are customizable, so you can match the look to your dash and your whims. The display is a show-stopper in itself, offering a variety of animated backgrounds and themes, presented in rich detail by Pioneer's Organic Electroluminescent technology.

The legacy of great Pioneer sound

The DEH-7500HD carries on Pioneer's tradition of superb sound quality with a powerful built-in amp that puts most stock radios to shame. Along with that extra power, you'll enjoy a 5-band equalizer to adjust your tone, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever to perk up the sound quality of compressed music, and a suite of other sophisticated sound controls. If you're looking to build a bigger system, you can connect amps and subs to the three pairs of preamp outputs to add some serious impact.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Pioneer stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Pioneer, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific model compatibility with this receiver.

    Great receiver

Kevin from Wilmington, OH on 9/2/2014

    1998 Honda Accord
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's a great receiver for the money since I bought at sale price. It takes some patience figuring out the buttons. Plenty of audio options. It's a little bright for me at night. But you can turn off the display. Personally I would not pay the full price for the receiver, but at the sale price, it's a great value.

Pros: Custom equalizer, display colors, plenty of options, ability to turn off display at night

Cons: Too bright at night (see pros)

    Great Support

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory radio with this one. Crutchfield had a great price on it and they included all the parts I needed to install it. I was hearing pop sound whenever I change source or channel and I was able to narrow down where the problem was by looking at knowledge base on Crutchfield website and confirmed by calling their customer service. They send me ground adapters that are needed to fix the problem. It was my first time installing/replacing car stereo and it was possible because of Crutchfield made it so easy. Keep up the good work, Crutchfield!

Pros: Stereo itself is so so. But, Crutchfield support is really good.

Cons: light is too bright. Makes pop sound when connected to amp without ground adapter.

I bought this to replace my pioneer super tuner 3 35 watts x 4. It sound better, and looks better. With mixtrax it hooks up to my phone and I can play what ever song I want. It took me 30 minuets to wire the harness, 20 minuets to install the radio. This was the first aftermarket radio I put in and it won't be the last one, thanks to Crutchfield for giving everything to put it in so easily.

Pros: Looks, Install time, Sound quality, and Price

    2000 Honda Civic
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The sound from this is fine. My issues are with the awkward design. The presets are buried under layers of the user interface rather than just having buttons, and with the small text size and terrible glare in daylight, the display is impossible to read in many situations. If these were easier to just pop in and out, I would return and get something else, but this is OK enough that I will just learn to live with it. I plan on putting an anti-glare film for a cell phone on to see if that helps with daytime visibility.

Pros: Good sound, good reception, cheap price

Cons: Clunky, awkward interface design. Very bad glare in daylight.

    Amazing deal, almost perfect!

This deck is awesome! I love HD Radio, the sound quality is insane! Everything works perfectly. This is an incredible deal, look no further than this deck. My only issue with the deck is that the lights are a little too bright at night, even with the dimmer on.

Pros: -HD Radio - CD like sound from the radio and additional stations! -Awesome sound -Looks really cool -Does everything I need it to do.

Cons: -A little too bright at night,

    Excellent product!

    2002 Honda Accord
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This CD/MP3 head unit is great for a standalone or amplified system. It's built for an amplified system, since it has 3 pre-amp outputs, which are helpful when connecting to amplifiers by eliminating the need to split output audio signals. The build of the detachable faceplate is of good quality. The built-in and customizable EQ settings, bass booster, and MIXTRAXX all help to provide great sound quality and volume. The audible difference can be heard when adjusting from 0 dB to 2 dB. I can barely hear a difference on other decks when I had +3db or more. Pioneer did not skimp on sound quality!

Pros: Great sound quality and value for the money! Pioneer did it right by including the DJ-like MIXTRAXX feature, which allows for continuous playback of songs. Fast-loading of CDs and auto-detection and playback of USB thumb drives!

Cons: Switching radio and HD radio channels require a little more work with navigating the buttons. The rear USB input cable could be moved to the front, as I rarely use the AUX input port.

    Good For The Price

    1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off for the price who can really complain. You do get a lot of car stereo for the price. Installation was aided by Crutchfield's tech department since the previous owner had decided to do their own cut and slicing leaving no original adapter to plug into. Thank you. Good overall sound quality and everything works.

Pros: The price and Pioneer tuner.

Cons: Like most today too many gadgets - you have to dig deep to get some basic functions set up. Way too much glare on the face to see the station numbers.

    Big Bang for your buck!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was looking for a quality CD player, and I've found found it right here with the 7500hd! Yeah buddy!! HD radio is nice. It doesn't have buttons for saved preset radio stations but that doesn't bother me. Easy to scroll through yo. It might bother some. Sweet color configs and overall design.

Pros: Great CD player Two sub outs Great price for 100!!!

Cons: May require additional amp to speakers/sub for optimal sound (goes for any head unit bcs of watt regulations) Wish it had more eq channels, perhaps one for 60 hz(only goes to 100)(wouldn't matter if I had a sub though)

    Good Reciever For The Money

Ray B from Los Angeles on 7/18/2014

    2004 Toyota Sequoia
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Had stereo shop install this into my 2004 Sequoia. Purchased this to replace JBL head unit and that went south. Also replaced the two front speakers. This radio seems very well built, and the highs are exceptionally crisp and clean. But the low end lacks the "fullness" I got from the old unit - even from the side and rear speakers which I didn't replace. You can adjust the equalization to boost any set of frequencies, and get close to the sound you want, but having been listening to this radio for a week now on a work commute that is an hour each way, I still have not been able to achieve the kind of sound I was looking for. Having said that, it sure is great having access to the HD stations - there are a few that are only on the HD band, and they play lots of music with very few commercials. That may change as HD becomes more popular, but in the meantime, it is a good free alternative to XM. The CDs seem to work fine. It's also nice to be able to plug in my android phone into the aux jack and listen to the music I have on that device. There are lots of controls if you like to fiddle with them. So far, I have had a few problems with the unit recognizing MP4 files on my thumbdrive.. It plays them for a few minutes and then abruptly stops. Have to look into that. If my car were newer and i was expecting to keep it five more years I might be less happy with this purchase. But for a 2004 with 167,000 miles on it, it's a good inexpensive way to take advantage of the HD bandwi

Pros: Receives HD radio signals. Aux jack, CD, Beautiful display. Sharp, crisp highs.

Cons: Sound not as "full" as it might be. Controls not intuitive - big learning curve.

Pros: Fun radio to use and listen to.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Initially, upon installation, I found the setup to be a bit confusing after the last 3 Kenwoods I've purchased which had fairly easy menus to navigate - Sounds fantastic with my Alpine amps, Infinity Speakers, Rockford sub! The one major issue I have is that this unit will not play some mp3 files in my library, whether on thumbdrive or disc- they either played very slow or faster - I had to convert them to WMA files which then played flawlessly (my Kenwoods don't have this issue) I do like the display, although it is VERY bright! Wish it dimmed more

Pros: Sound Quality, 4V preouts, Display color choices

Cons: Display is Bright, won't play some mp3 files

I bought that unit to replace the existing one in my used car, the product look good work good, but the feeling/touch look very cheap as it is all very light plastic that look like it could break. I would have believe that Pioneer wold use better material for their medium to high range product line. But the product is nice and has a lot of function the color one is a great one!

    Cons: too much functions

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great sounding head unit that does not distort (depending on speakers) at high volume. 3 sets of RCA outs makes connecting amps a breeze. I have connected a 4 channel and mono block amp with no need for splitters The eq settings are great for customizing. Although I keep mine flat all the time. Navigating the menu is a little tricky at first. But is easy to get around it. It does include a usb cable in the box to connect to the back. Glad I didn't have to buy one separately. Best of all. It works perfectly with an iphone 5 and 5s with no problems. Plug the lightning cable to the provided usb cord and it controls the device from the hu. No fumbling with the device while driving. Also, all song play at the same volume level from the usb. I don't have to readjust the volume from one track to another. For the money I didn't expect a whole lot from it. This is on par with the $450 hu in my other car and has more features. Definitely will be buying another one soon for my other car.

Pros: Iphone 5 compatible Great eq customizing Sub crossover and high pass filter can be adjusted from the menu 3 sets of RCA outs Usb cable included in the box Pandora control for ios devices FM tuner is incredible. Best yet.

Cons: None. I cannot find a single thing to nitpick on this unit.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price, no one really can complain about this head unit, unless you want adjustability in terms of midrange and bass. My previous head unit, a Pioneer deh-33hd, had more adjustability at a cheaper price. This unit does allow for changes to the head unit's colors separately (for key and display) or even mix your tracks like a DJ in the club. The only other pain is that the buttons used to toggle through songs require you to push up or pull down to the next song, which can irritate your finger/thumb during long drives.

Pros: Color adjustability, clean display, good value for the price

Cons: Lack of adjustability, poor choice for toggling through songs

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought to replace the stock radio in my 2005 Honda Civic; it fits well with appropriate kit, but I could not seem to release the front bezel when in place so to allow me to slide in/out if ever to replace. Overall, it performs well enough for my use; I really don't use the mix mode. As in my case, where the radio is mounted high, you may find that it is almost impossible to view the display when sunlight is reflecting off it; you may want to consider something non-LED. Only other complaint is that there appears to be no background mode that is very plain blacked out with just time and scrolling of song data.

I Initially found the User Interface to be mildly awkward but after a short time of getting use to it, it becomes intuitive. I also found some videos on-line about navigating the interface. The videos were VERY usefull and date (Several weeks) I have been impressed with this units Sound quality and Build Quality. I also feel you would be hard pressed to find a better value. I would recomend this product and would buy again. I use the USB interface but dont care about any IPOD/Android interfaces. I currently have a 64GB thumbdrive connected. Unit is being used with Polk Audio component sets, 12" subs ,and external amplifiers

Pros: Great sound, build quality seems to solid, MixTrax is pretty neat, Great how to videos on internet.

Cons: I really have not found any cons for this price. If I had to choose a CON.. I would say the small lettering on the display... but again... for the price... I am not willing to fully commit to this as a con

Low powered compared to the older high-end Kenwood I replaced. The Mixtrax is the only really cool feature, because the flashing colors can get a little annoying after time. The clock setting is missing, so if you don't have a clock in the car, the time display is too small to be useful. And sometimes, Pioneer, we just want to know the track details with the display effects. Just sayin ....

It used to be a lot easier to install an after-market head unit, but Crutchfield's instructions made it as simple as can be. Unit has excellent sound, HD FM sounds great, plenty of audio controls. There are lots of display options, but honestly none I felt were ideal. Likewise, there are many color options, but none quite matched the lighting in my dashboard. All that said, it's a vast improvement over my factory unit, feels solid, sounds great, and with Crutchfield's support, it couldn't have been easier to install.

This is an awesome radio for the price. It has all the features I want, and a couple of added bonus ones as well. The only drawbacks that I have are when the stereo is in iPod control mode, I haven't been able to figure out the shuffle settings, or how to pause playback if I get a phone call, etc, and the brightness of the screen can be irritating at night even on the "dim" setting. If there was a way to make it patch into the control panel brightness, that would be awesome sauce squared.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me begin by saying that this was a really easy installation. It took about an hour and 10 minutes being cautious. I could do it again in about 35 minutes. On the 2005 GMC Sierra Pickup, there was supposed to be a modification where I had to cut out the stock stereo's rear support bracket. As it turned out, I was able to leave that bracket in and have plenty of space for this installation. I had a couple of questions on the wiring harness that was easy enough to figure out, but I was working outside & the sun was going down, so I cut to the chase & called technical support. A live, knowledgeable person answered the call. I was finished well before dark. Easy installation & excellent customer service. As for the stereo itself, Pioneer has been my favorite for years, so I stuck with that and I am still very impressed. The audio options give a lot of versatility. Bass Booster is great too. I think that this stereo will show what your car speakers & design are capable of and it has expansion options for adding amps and a subwoofer. It took a little while to get the hang of the digital presets and digital settings, but it's really easy. Although I didn't think the remote was necessary, after memorizing the controls, it really does make life easy when driving by not needing to take my eyes off the road. As for the industry common stereo lights, there are a lot of options. I set mine to a lower brightness and chose a paler blue color to keep it subtle.

Pros: Beyond what I already posted in the main review, there was no audible alert in the truck if I left the lights on after I shut the truck off, but after the installation, including the included audio alert box that I initially couldn't identify, I DO now have that feature. Nice surprise. The radio reception & sound is great, which Pioneer has always been great with going back to their super tuner car stereos a few decades ago.

Cons: For cons, I'll have to get back to you. None found so far!

Good system, but too much emphasis placed on the lighting effects. I bought it due to the sale price and Pioneers reputation, and the features it offered. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Our 2002 Mazda MPV is on it's last legs.. the problem is it has been for the last five years, and it keeps on ticking! When deciding to upgrade the factory radio, I didn't want to make a huge investment in money or time. The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD fit the bill perfectly. With the legendary Crutchfield buying and support experience, we have beautiful sounding HD Radio and iPod connectivity and control that is flawless. As with most aftermarket head units, the interface, menus and settings aren't super-intuitive, but after spending a little time exploring in the driveway, I was very impressed with the depth of options. At less than $100 with everything included (unit, install kit, shipping, customer instructions from Crutchfield), I couldn't be more pleased with the overall value. The only feature this model sacrifices is Bluetooth, but this wasn't on my shopping list since I was trying to keep the cost down.

Pros: Sound quality is excellent when using existing factory speakers. HD Radio reception is great compared to other aftermarket models I've utilized. Customer color matching for keys and display allowed for exact match of factory dash illumination.

Cons: It takes a exploration to learn your way around the features and settings... not always a bad thing though! Keys controls and knob seem a little fragile since they will get quite a work out from daily use over time. All in all, a great unit.

I don't really have a single bad thing to say about this HD unit. While I purchased it primarily due to the large discount, I haven't regretted one thing about it. I've seen complaints about the manual, but on a computer the PDF can be enlarged as much as you want. I've found HD stations provide perfect sound and the unit does a nice job switching when the digital signal gets weak. The display color choices are great as I can have fun or just match my existing colors. Matrix is a cool add-on but not something I would pay extra for. All in all, I'm thrilled with this unit and will use Crutchfield again and keep Pioneer at the top of my list.

Pros: Almost everything. As a factory replacement it's miles above the stock Camry 2002 unit even with same speakers.

Cons: Not a one that means anything to me.

Don't be deterred by reading that this is hard to use. The manual makes it sound like you're learning to land the space shuttle, but the reality is that it doesn't take long at all to figure out the controls if you're at all savvy. And if you're reading reviews here, you're probably well-equipped to handle a car stereo! The rear USB is rather awkard--I ended up anchoring the cable at the side of a shelf just below the radio. That works fine, but it would be much better to have it on the radio face. I got this model anyway because of the large price break, and it does deliver the goods in terms of sound and functionality. Light years ahead of the factory unit in my 2004 Prius. The volume is perfectly adequate unless you want to alarm the neighbors. If I had a do-over, I'd buy a 2 DIN. But this is a pretty great 1 DIN unit.

Before I begin let me say that I am a card carrying geezer who has barely made it into the 20th century much less the 21st century. I long for the good old days of DOS and want to throw rocks at Win8. The radio in my trusty sarturn croaked so I thought it mught be time for some new tunes. I chose this radio upon the recommendations of the helpful Crutchfield staff. The Crutchfield instructions were clear and helpful. In spite if the Pioneer vague and mis-leading instructions and help from my grand daughter to read the microscopic print I got installed. At first there was no sound. After I called Tech Help we figured out that the blue/white has to be hooked up in spite of a tag on that wire stating to not hook it up. Once installed I was pleased with the sound. One disappointing feature is there are no preset buttons. It's very distracting to scroll through the menus to find the desired station. I would consider that as distracting as texting while driving. Perhaps I'll learn to live with that horrible feature. In general it's way too complicated for a non techie.

Pros: Excellent sound, good value, Crutchfield instructions easy to follow, techies will love all of the buttons and menus

Cons: Way too complicated to operate, no preset buttons, font on the display is too small, Pioneer instructions vague and misleading

Decided to replace my 13 year old Alpine so I can have USB and Aux access! I bought this based off the price and I needed the 3 pre-amp outputs. I have amps putting out about 80W RMS to Infinity Kappas (components & FR) and a 150W to a JL box. Install was a breeze cause I just swapped radios so my connections were already made. I'm amazed at the quality of the low-cost radios. The best thing I found out about this radio is there are tutorials done by Pioneer for every function of this radio and that saved me the pain of reading the manual. Check them out. I have decent power so I run this with a flat EQ and it sounds pretty great. Also totally dig the Pandora app. Tried that out and it's great. Honestly, when you've lived with CDs for soooo long in a car, Pandora is awesome. Have the USB connector going through the storage shelf of the mounting kit so I can plug the phone in and let it sit in there. I can control Pandora right from the radio, so that's fine. I'm kind of in the sticks, so haven't experienced the HD radio yet. I do like the ability to change the lighting and the display is very nice. All in all, I'd recommend especially if you have amps and just want something inexpensive. Fits my needs perfectly. I find myself wanting to go for rides again to listen to the music. This is in a 2000 Focus.

Pros: Inexpensive, 3 pre-amp outs, Pandora control

Cons: Selector lever/volume knob are plasticky. Wish volume knob had some texture. Some menus are not intuitive.

I bought this receiver to replace the factory stereo in my 2005 Impala LS. Although Crutchfield said it wouldn't fit, I decided to take the risk and order it anyway. It went in without any problems, and it works great! I have the included USB extension cable routed under my center console and exiting near the driver's seat. It works great with my phone. I have also tried using a USB flash drive loaded with music, and it works just as well. Everything is easy to control from the receiver. It was difficult to figure out at first, but after playing around with it for 20 minutes, I was able to get everything to work. I also like the ability to change colors. The ability to change the screen independently from the buttons is an added benefit. It was easy to make it match other lights on my dash. I often have it cycle between colors as well. Overall, for the price I paid, this was by far the best receiver available. It works great, looks cool, and has a great range of features.

Much better than the stock Toyota Sienna Fujitsu Ten head unit, much more powerful at only 14w RMS, better clarity, drives the Polk 6x9 DXi690 speakers without problems. Overall, I am happy with the purchase, 4.5 stars.

Pros: good power even at 14 watts RMS, better clarity than the stock unit

Cons: confusing controls, which is common in most new head units, have to hold the power button for 5 sec. before power is off.

Great product.Self installed in a 2003 Automatic Honda civic. Very easy to do. Statistically Significant increase in quality out of the stock speakers. Only down side is the contrast is not strong enough to allow one to see the highlight around the selection. It is mostly due to the angle in the installation of Honda civics, would need more evidence to conclude for other vehicles as well.

    Pros: Sound Power Looks Inputs

Pioneer is one of the best car stereo sounds you can buy. We had our unit professionally installed because we are electronically challenged. He advised us not to turn up the volume all the way because our speakers could not handle it! The sound is great and we are very pleased with the unit. It was a bit hard to figure out how to access the AM FM radio and change radio stations by reading the instruction booklet but we finally figured it out by hook and by crook. All in all a super buy, great price and quality product.

    Pros: Great sound, great value.

Cons: Instruction booklet is for the experienced electronics person. Not for seniors like us. A simpler instruction booklet would really help.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been using this receiver for a couple weeks now and decided to give a review of this product. When I first got the package, it might have taken me a couple hours to finally get it installed since I never changed out a car radio before. The instructions to remove the old radio was pretty good and the wiring of the harness was straightforward. I didn't know I needed connector caps but luckily I had some around when connecting the harness wires. I did have some questions about the mounting bracket that came with the receiver and one of the wires but the technical support department that I called was very helpful in answering my questions. The features of the receiver is numerous so it helps to read the manual to navigate through all the options. The HD radio is pretty awesome and clearer than my old manufacturer radio. The default setting for the receiver has some illuminated lights that changes colors and goes with the rhythm of the music. It;s a little flashy so I changed the setting. So far, I'm very happy with the receiver and the technical support from Crutchfield. Crutchfield has been around for a long time and the quality of their products and service is still exceptional.

Pros: HD Radio. USB connection for storage devices. Nice quality sound. Detachable face.

Cons: The USB cable connects through the back of the receiver, so I had to drill a hole through an empty compartment to push the cable to the front. Not really an issue.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got this head unit to replace the factory stereo in my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. As soon as I installed it, it was apparent that it improved the sound quality a great deal. Installation was straight-forward, especially with the Crutchfield manual. If I were judging this stereo strictly on sound quality, it is all that I will ever need. The fine tuning options are sufficient to fine tune your sound unless you're an audio engineer. The appearance does not look stock, which many people like; however, it's not gaudy either. The ability to match that backlighting to the dash prevents it from standing out too much. If I had to complain about this stereo, it's that the scrolling function when interfacing with an iPod is really slow. It seems to take forever to scroll through a list of artists or songs. Also, in order to fine tune the EQ, you have to go into one menu folder, select that EQ preset, back out of that menu, and then enter another menu to change the frequency volumes. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase, especially for the price.

Pros: Price. Sound Quality. Appearance. Installation time.

Cons: Audio menu format. Scrolling through folders when interfacing with iPod

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Really good stereo once you get it all set up. Have to be competent enough to set the e.q. though, otherwise it just doesn't sound as good as it should. P.S. be wary of the bass boost. I underestimated the power of this stereo and scared myself s**tless thinking I was going to blow my stock speakers. Turned it down real fast and didn't seem to damage anything, but you would have thought I had subs in the back...

Pros: Once you get it set up and the e.q. where you want it, it sounds great. I can't say much about the radio features because I bought it to not have to listen to the crap stations in my area. Overall looks pretty cool. Better than what most put in their car unless they're setting up a legit sound system. And I can't complain about performance, it does everything I want it to do and sounds good doing it.

Cons: Personally I'm not a huge fan of usb out the back. Seems fine until you're trying to find a place to run the usb extension without it looking unsightly. I wish I could have came up with a better system than cable running along the passenger floorboard and then wadded up in the storage area under my a/c and stereo just in case I want to plug my phone in. People suggested to me to run it into my glovebox...but then if I plug anything in, my glove box will be bouncing along to the road...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this in my 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon. While the install was a bit challenging, it was totally worth it! I love that this unit does not require files on a flash drive to be configured using external software to allow for categorization by artist, album, etc. While it does take a few minutes to read all of the files for browsing, the navigation interface is super easy to use. The multi-colored display is a bit gimmicky, and the MIXTRAX feature is totally worthless, but overall, I really like this unit. It gets pretty good radio reception (HD Radio rocks BTW), and the digital file playback features are amazing. Sound quality is decent. It offers pretty good sub controls, but all of the EQ settings produce a sound that's a bit too over-processed for my taste. Bottom line: Digital media playback plus HD radio support make this a real winner!

Pros: HD Radio Playback, Browse by Artist, Album, etc. by simply dragging-and-dropping onto flash drive, Good sub controls

Cons: Display is too bright, sound is a bit over-processed

    It's a no brainer

The only thing he found a little annoying was that the usb slot is on the back of the stereo, so to access it we had to run a cord from the back and make it dangle out the front so he can use his usb drives. The unit is solidly build. The lack of numerous plasticky buttons is a welcome plus for this Pioneer unit. The navigation is straightforward. It is nice that you can tailor the color to fit the taste, or the existing illuminations of the car. HD Radio is awesome. I actually like the rear-USB --- keep the front of the unit clean.

Pros: HR Radio, Pandra Control, Intuitive control without tons of buttons. Date/Time background option is really useful.

Cons: When I plug iPhone, it forces into Pandra mode... why? I have to press the BAND button a few times every time to bring it back to the tuner. Seriously, I only want USB to charge my phone most of the time. Also, the illumination is too bright even with the dimmer function. Luckily I can turn it all off.

By replacing the factory receiver I lost my factory subwoofer, but with the power this thing puts out, at times I can't even tell the difference. Already shopping for speakers that can handle the power. Removing 3/4 of the paneling and trim in my car to install it was a pain, but that's the car's fault. It comes with a graphic equalizer so you have more control over the sound levels. and to the guy asking about the SRC button, it stands for Source, press it to switch between radio, the auxillary input, CD, or USB.

I initially bought a Kenwood receiver, but found the tiny buttons too inconvenient, and the overall operation not user friendly. I returned it and purchased this Pioneer receiver, and love it. The buttons are larger, the menu is easy to work with. For us over the hill people, we like ease of use over overly advanced features. I personally subscribe to the k.i.s.s. theory. The sound is excellent, even with the factory speakers. The features are great, and I really enjoy the HD radio. I have only one question about all new radios, Why is the power button called SRC? What's wrong with calling it Power, or On/Off? I guess I'm getting closer to the "Jitterbug" phone stage, woe is me. Finally, a big thank you to Crutchfield's customer service for making the change so easy!

Overall, a great deal on this head unit. If you have subs, you'll definitely notice an increase in bass volume. Had to turn it all the way off to keep from blowing mine, and I wasn't even close to that with my old unit.

Pros: Great price on a unit with a 4 volt preamp

Cons: Not enough control over the EQ. I hope you like bass!

    Awesome Stereo!

Purchased this radio after having the configuration tool spit out a list for my car. It was reasonably priced and had the features I most wanted. I got the radio quickly, within 3 days, and installed it on a Sunday afternoon. Fit and finish are excellent and the radio itself looks awesome in the dash.

Pros: Great instructions, beautiful look and easy installation.

    Cons: Learning curve for controls.

    Good Value, Great Looks

Solid HU, very impressive display/graphics compared to its competition. Nearly everything about this HU is 5 stars, except its RMS is quite low at only 14W. Plan on buying a separate amp for your main speakers if you want decent volume. Otherwise, the unit has very nice features, sound quality, and appearance.

Pros: 3 sets of 4V preamp outputs, features are amazing, excellent value, impressive looks, good EQ options and subwoofer control.

Cons: Weak RMS power output (14W), face does not de-attach very smoothly, some menu features are difficult to locate and utilize (shuffle for example is buried deep in the menu settings).

I have now installed two of these units, with a very respectable shipping price which also includes quality installation accessories; dash kit, ant adapter, and wiring harness, you cannot beat this deal! This unit has a lot of detail in features and of course an external USB which is better in my opinion.

Pros: External USB, Multi-colored display, Remote Control

    Cons: None noticed so far

So far this unit seems great. Went in easy. Looks great. I see what some say about the smallish display, But it's not to bad. The sound is much better than the stock unit.

Pros: Cost. USB. Looks good, Sounds good.

Cons: CD disk seems to get hot, but no problem yet

    Great sound, and pretty powerfull!

Sounds great! Lots of options to tweak the sound, controls are well laid out so it's easy to use. Lots of power! I though I would end up doing a standard install, which for me is usually a new head unit, speakers, and a 4 channel amp to drive them. Not the case this time, this head unit is plenty powerful for my little truck, as long as you keep the bass at a reasonable level, this thing is more than loud enough. Has all the basic stuff you need and a few extras that are pretty sweet. The rear USB is great, load up a few gigs of music and leave the CD's at home! Really the only thing I can say bad about it is the extra shiny front panel is kinda hard to read in the daytime, but the unit is easy enough to use that it doesn't take long at all to learn how to use it without looking at it, gotta love Pioneer's simple control layouts!

Pros: Everything you need, not a lot of junk you don't need. Sounds great, powerful, rear USB input is really handy but remains hidden neatly out of the way, custom colors for the buttons and the display are extra cool, controls are easy to use and laid out well, 5 band eq along with bass boost and HPF means there are a lot of ways to tweak the sound just right!

Cons: Display is hard to read in the daytime.

Pros: HD radio USB in rear so you can hide your ipod in the glove box, customizeable colors

An excellent feature filled unit.Great sound quality, good am/fm reception, and the sound shaping features are quite nice. The unit seems well built except for the wiring harness. It seems a little flimsy, however I've had no problems with it.The color matching is great for keeping a factory look in my 2000 Lincoln LS.Would be nice if the USB input was in front, but running the included wire was no problem.Crutchfields kit was nearly perfect, but I did have to trim off the "factory plastic pins" from top of the climate control module to get a perfect fit.A quick and easy mod.Overall this a great unit If you still love radio and plan on system expansion you cannot go wrong with this Pioneer!

Pros: lots of feature for the money and a advanced "techhy" look

Cons: front USB would be nice.some features are not intuitive to accsess and take time to learn

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-X7500HD is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player.

    HD Radio

HD Radio: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD's built-in HD Radio tuner lets you listen to the radio with the same fidelity as your digital music. HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. HD Radio features high quality audio, FM multicasting, and data services. With HD Radio, your FM stations offer near CD-quality sound, AM stations provide FM-like sound, and there is crystal-clear reception with no audio distortion. Best of all, HD Radio is 100% subscription free. The unit's tuner also supports analog AM/FM broadcasts. Go to to check for HD Radio stations in your area.

Multicasting: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 3 multicast programs (HD1 to HD3, and analog). There are also data programs for each program.

RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible analog or HD AM/FM stations.

iTunes Tagging: It is possible to save the song's information (tag) from a HD Radio or RDS FM broadcasting station to your USB-direct connected iPod/iPhone. The songs will show up in a playlist called "Tagged" in iTunes the next time you sync your iPod/iPhone. Then you can directly buy the songs you want from the iTunes Music Store.

Supertuner IIID: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

Reception Blending: If a digital broadcast reception condition gets poor, this unit automatically switches to the analog broadcast of the same frequency level. If this function is set to "On", the tuner switches between digital broadcast and analog broadcast automatically. If this function is 'Off', reception will be conducted within an analog broadcast.

BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest analog or HD stations under presets 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.

Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 level of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

    Disc Playback

Compatible Discs: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD supports playback of CD-Audio, CD-R, and CD-RW discs.

MP3/WMA Playback: This unit can play MP3 and WMA files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. MP3 files with a bit rate from 8-320 kbps, WMA files with a constant bit rate from 48-320 kbps, and WMA files with a variable bit rate from 48-384 kbps are supported. The unit is compatible with ID3 Tags and will display artist, folder, file, and album name. Up to 8 directories, 99 folders and 999 files per disc are recognized by this unit.

AAC Decoding: This unit will playback AAC files with a bit rate of 16-320 kbps (encoded by iTunes) recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs. The AAC file (.m4a) must originate from iTunes. The AAC file must also not contain DRM protection. Not compatible with Apple Lossless.

WAV File Playback: The DEH-X7500HD offers playback of audio WAV files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs. The head unit supports 8-bit and 16-bit LPCM (Linear PCM) WAV files with a sampling frequency between 16 to 48 kHz.

File/Track Name List: The Name List feature displays a list of MP3/WMA folders and tracks on a loaded CD or connected USB device, so you can easily access your music.

Off Insert/Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback.

Auto Off Eject: When you eject a disc, the unit will automatically power off (unless you switch sources before ejecting the disc).

Installation Angle: Optimum CD playback performance is obtained when the unit is installed at an angle of less than 60-degrees.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-X7500HD is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the DEH-X7500HD are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Equalizer: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (100Hz, 315Hz, 1,25kHz, 3.15kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

Bass Boost The DEH-X7500HD features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.

Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

4V/6CH Preamp Outputs: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD features three pair of 4.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The unit's front and rear preamp output can be faded (front/rear), while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.

Crossovers: The DEH-X7500HD employs high pass and low pass crossovers to tailor the head unit to your connected speakers.

    • HPF: The head unit's 12dB/octave high pass filter only allows frequencies higher than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) to your front and rear speakers through the unit's speaker-level or line-level outputs.
    • LPF: The subwoofer preamp output features an18dB/octave low pass filter so only frequencies lower than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) are output to your connected subwoofer.

Subwoofer Controls: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD lets you adjust the subwoofer preamp output's phase (normal/reverse) and volume (+6 to -24).

Switchable Rear Channel/Subwoofer Speaker Output: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

    Display Features

Detachable Face Security: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD in-dash CD receiver features Detachable Face Security. If the front-panel is not detached from the head unit within five seconds of turning off the ignition, a warning tone will sound. The warning tone can be turned off in the menu, if desired. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit.

Large Full-Dot LCD: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD features a 3-line, full-dot LCD which makes it easier to see what is playing in most lighting conditions. You can easily view file/folder lists from your MP3, WMA, AAC, and CD Text-encoded discs, Radio presets, or data from your connected iPod/iPhone. The contrast of the display can be set between 0 and 15.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 27 preset colors (White to Rose), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red, Blue, and Green brightness levels), or scan through various color settings (All/Warm/Ambient/Calm/Custom).

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose among twelve patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music. You can also choose which area's of the head unit's face illuminates; select Display, Keys, Both or Off.

Multi-Language Display: For your convenience, this unit is equipped with a multiple language display. You can select the language which is best suited to your first language - English, French, or Spanish.

Ever Scroll: When the Ever Scroll feature is set to On, recorded text information scrolls continuously on the display. It will auto-scroll up to 64 characters. Set this feature to Off if you prefer the information to scroll only once.

Entertainment Displays: You can enjoy entertainment displays while listening to each sound source. You can choose from the following; Background Visual, Genre, Background Picture (1/2/3/4), Simple Display, Movie Screen, or Calendar.

Calendar/Clock Display: The Pioneer DEH-X7500HD provides time, date, month, and year display. You can choose to have the head unit display the calendar and clock even when the unit is powered off (your vehicle must be running or in the accessory position.

Automatic Dimmer: To prevent the display from being too bright at night, the display is automatically dimmed when the car's headlights are turned on. You can turn the auto dimmer feature on or off. The automatic dimmer function only works when the orange/white illumination wire in the wiring harness is connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "Clock" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "Clock" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, both clock and source information can be displayed at the same time; or you can set the unit to display only source info or only clock/calendar.

Engine Time Alert: This setting allows you to measure the length of time that elapses from when the head unit is turned on and display the amount of elapsed time per set period (15 min., 30 min., or Off). There will also be an audible alarm. This function is handy if you are listening to the radio with the vehicle' ignition is in the accessory position, and the engine off.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-X7500HD comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause the CD, change the display, and adjust the audio. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

yes you can, just set it to the color(s) you prefer, didn't think i'd care for this feature (2 colors) but it does help with the over all look of you dash [ EDWARD  May 06, 2014 ]
It's not really a "fancy" light show. Nothing is flashing fast. The mixtrax seems like it would so it is a little misleading...the colors can either be picked to "scan"- which it slowly cycles through each color it can turn to, "warm" cycles through red, orange etc..warm colors. "cool" cycles through blue, green colors.. or you can set it to one solid color. You won't have a seizure watching this change colors. It has enough solid color options that I find it hard to believe you would NOT be able to find a color that matches the surrounding dash lights colors in your car. There are some colors that if the sun is shining just right, it is impossible to read the face plate, like dark blue for example. You can adjust the contrast so that each color shows up brighter or darker. I have mine in my Scion TC set to "scan" and it slowly changes colors as music plays. If you have it set to this but the volume is turned down it will still cycle through. Personally I have not had any issues with mine whatsoever. Hope this helps! [ BRIAN J  May 05, 2014 ]
Yes you can turn off the fancy light show. The lights do the most changing and such, when you are in the "mixtrax" mode. You can set the display to your favorite color and it will stay that way, until you make a change. You can also set one side to a certain color and the other side to a different color, if you choose. Kindof neat and makes it easier to read on Sunny Days. Enjoy ... [ STEVEN M  May 05, 2014 ]
Sorry. I haven't installed the radio yet. I've been waiting for a chance to get into the garage with nice weather. [ KEVIN  May 05, 2014 ]
Go into the settings and turn the DEMO off. [ JESSE  May 05, 2014 ]
When the mixtrak is enabled you can't turn the fancy lights off. [ DAMIR  May 05, 2014 ]
If you're talking about color, it sounds like you have it on 'Demo' setting for the display. Change to another color and/or set the color of control and information separately. Or, just press and hold the red-lettered Mix button located on the right of the round main knob. The lighted display will shut off unless a button/feature is being used. A great many adjustments for lighting display but one of the outstanding features on Pioneer units is the 'Custom' display adjustments. Using Red, Green and Blue you are able to create any color you want to exactly match or compliment your interior lighting. If you're talking about the dolphins, bubbles, graphics etc. display, I think it's under the entertainment function. Just turn it off, or set it to display clock or track info etc. Hope this helps. I know there's always too many directions to read! [ PAUL  May 05, 2014 ]
yea you can turn it off. [ Dan  May 05, 2014 ]
does not play flac. [ Dan  May 05, 2014 ]
No it doest like FLAC files [ RUSSELL  Apr 28, 2014 ]
Returned this unit, cant answer your question. [ ABUNDIO  Apr 06, 2014 ]
Press the magnifying glass on the top right side of the knob. [ CHRISTOPHER  Apr 04, 2014 ]
Push the magnifying glass button, then use the knob to scroll through them. To set, go to the station you want, puts the magnifying glass button, scroll to where you want it and push and hold the knob till it sets [ CHRIS  Apr 04, 2014 ]
You have to set them first using the remote control by first finding your station and then pressing and holding down the number button you wish to assign the radio station to. Press and hold for about 3 seconds or until your radio makes a beeping sound and your set. Hen to go to them you could press up or down on your circle button on control to access the preset stations [ LUIS N  Apr 04, 2014 ]
    yes. [ BRIAN J  Mar 26, 2014 ]
    Yea it is [ NEIL  Mar 26, 2014 ]
    yes [ EDWARD  Mar 26, 2014 ]
Aaron, The faceplate is detachable, by pushing a button on the lower left corner of the face. [ KEVIN  Mar 26, 2014 ]
Yes, the face plate is detachable for security. Since I have purchased this deck, I have added a 10 inch sub and 5 channel amp that have made me appreciate this Pioneer even more. [ BRITT  Mar 26, 2014 ]
    Yes [ Dan  Mar 26, 2014 ]
Yes, the face plate is detachable. I love the unit by the way, it is perfect for us. [ STEVEN M  Mar 26, 2014 ]
    yes [ GARY  Mar 26, 2014 ]
its for an extension plug in you pre-install before you mount the unit so you have a seperate input for the glove box or console. [ PETE  Jan 07, 2014 ]
Rear-Panel USB Input: The unit's rear-panel USB (type-A) port and 59" USB extension cable allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) compliant device; such as select Android smartphones (Froyo/Gingerbread OS only), portable digital audio players, or USB thumbdrives. The USB port enables audio playback & control of AAC, MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files stored on portable USB mass-storage class devices. [ Jeff  Jan 06, 2014 ]  Staff
really any sub will work. it has sub controls on this stereo. but it really come down to what your trying to do. [ JERRY  Dec 21, 2013 ]
That all depends on personal preference and how much room you have for a box. An 8" will use a smaller amount of space and will provide tighter bass. I have a 10" Kicker that I use with an old skool Rockford punch amp. If you like more boom than a 12 MIT fit your needs but you usually need a bigger amp which will cost a bit more. [ BRANDON  Dec 20, 2013 ]
Install was not a problem with mine in a 2005 Chevy SSR. Pretty simple and straight forward install with a GM install kit. Resetting the dash facing is the tricky part of my install. [ DEANE  Dec 12, 2013 ]
I don't know what kind the kit you have. I bought the 7500HD with wires from Crutchfield for mercedes Benz slk and used the mounting from Pionner box. Then in 15 min. It was ready to enjoy. Take photos from the original mounting and wires and send to costumer support to help you or find a place with a professional to install that avoiding to waste money. [ RICARDO  Dec 12, 2013 ]
I can't answer the question, but the plug for the old Pioneer 3800 was NOT compatible with the X7500. No big deal for me, as I had wired the 3800 (the 1st 7500 went into my motorhome, the 2nd, into my van, replacing a 3500) with bullet and spade connectors. Using the 7500 plug was a simple matter of stripping wires and crimping new connectors. Both the van and motorhome have non-standard installations, and are easily accessible. One difference between the 3800/3500 and the 7500 is that there is no provision on the latter for a rear bracket/support. Crutchfield may have more info on an installation kit for your vehicle; I'm no help because I don't use them. [ Malcolm  Dec 12, 2013 ]
Almost all dash mount kits are vehicle-specific, not deck specific. All decks are a standard set of dimensions for the most part, and all have sleeves meant for standard single-DIN dash mounts. So your dash mount would vary with the vehicle, not the deck. [ Charles  Dec 12, 2013 ]
The dash mount kit is the same, the wiring harness is different but Crutchfield ships the appropriate one. [ Aaron  Dec 12, 2013 ]
No. All pioneer products that have bluetooth have it in the model number ie model 12345BT, hd radio is 12345HD, and models that have both HD12345BT or something to those effects. [ BRIAN J  May 05, 2014 ] says it is not bt compatible right in the specs.. [ BRIAN J  Mar 26, 2014 ]
It does not have Bluetooth but according to Pioneer it is compatable with the iphone 5 with iOS7. [ DON  Dec 10, 2013 ]
This does not have Bluetooth. It didn't work with my iPhone 5. So I don't think it will work with the 5s [ LUIS N  Dec 10, 2013 ]
Does not have Bluetooth and wil work with iPhone 5s. [ Dan  Dec 10, 2013 ]
No I don't believe it does have Bluetooth, however, it will work with your iphone using a USB interface cable for a direct connection. [ BRITT  Dec 10, 2013 ]
