GPS navigation — built in

You can navigate to specific addresses or any of the 11 million points of interest — the high-resolution 6.95" touchscreen display shows maps of all 50 states in easy-to-read detail, including 3-D building views in many cities. A built-in database of 2500 red-light and speed cameras provides valuable driving info. When you approach a complicated intersection, your map is replaced by a 3D view of the intersection, while the Lane Information feature clearly points the way to your next turn.

All your original equipment goodies

With this system added onto your original audio system, you'll keep all the features you paid for, including the SYNC controlled CD changer, Bluetooth®, iPod® input, and your steering wheel audio controls. All your SYNC functions will display on the big touchscreen — a nice step up from the factory 2-line display. The system even adds a rear audio/video input for other sources, and includes a rear-view camera that'll provide a color picture of what's behind you when you back up.

Note: The CS FD1030-P11 only works in 2009-up Ford F-150 trucks that were factory-equipped with the SYNC® system. It is not compatible with non-SYNC® and Sony audio system equipped vehicles.

Note: When you install this kit, you will lose access to the vehicle's factory cigarette lighter/power socket.

    Great Product for the price

    Ssgcarlson from 31419 on 5/29/2013

Does everything is says it does. Looks OEM/factory after install. Instructions are not the best. I recommend professional install. Backup is nice and works great. For the same setup that would keep steering wheel and sync would cost upwards for 2k this only cost me 600 after install. Ill take it everyday of the week.

Pros: Back up camera Touchscreen Keeps all factory options Navigation is good

Cons: Don't except alpine/ken wood quality Touchscreen isn't extremely responsive

    Nice little add on

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price you cannot beat this unit. It's an add on display screen that works pretty good. I have been looking at this unit for quite some time. Finally purchased it a few weeks ago. Really there are no complaints with the unit. My drivers side front speaker didn't work after install, I had a local install tech install the unit and the back up camera. It took him about 3 hours. Still in the works on fixing the speaker. The satellite radio works great with the touch screen, you can see what stations you have programmed. The navigation works great, it's response time for missed turns is quick. I think the navigation works better than my Magellan detachable GPS. The black face plate that replaces the factory one is not as good of quality. You loose the cigarette lighter/12V adapter, but it's not that big of a deal. On a bright sunny day the screen is a little hard to see but not anymore difficult to see than a portable GPS. The back up camera works great, I can back right up to my trailer with no issues. All in all I am happy with the unit.

    Pros: Price, OEM look

    Cons: It's made in China

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation wasn't too bad, even being a little nervous about tearing into my truck. New center bezel fit up well. I had seen other reviews where people may have had to shave it down here or there to get buttons to stop sticking, or line up properly. I had no issue here. The instructions were OK. Maybe a bit on the vague side, but workable. I found that the touch screen was a bit lifeless around the edges until I calibrated it with a fine stylus. Works very well now. Graphically, I'd prefer a bit more color or "fluff", but the screens are very straight forward, and easy to navigate. Backup camera works well, and has guiding lines which display on the screen. GPS is great, lots of alert options, alternate routes, and quick address entry. The voice from the GPS software... I wish I could make it louder, or have the volume proportionate to the volume of my stereo, but it's not that way. The voice does come through the speakers of my truck(or, speaker... the volume of music lowers, and voice only comes through the front left speaker), and it is only adjustable through the GPS software menu. I've got it maxed, and it seems a bit distorted. I'm installing an amp, and maybe it might get better?? we'll see. If I were to do it over again, I'd opt for a license plate mounted camera, or the FORD tailgate badge camera. The one that comes with this unit to me seems a bit goofy, being that it sticks out from the tailgate handle. It does work well, though. Overall, a very good low cost opt

Pros: Price, Fit, Function: I-Phone works great (just as it did before with SYNC) all original equipment retained, all original functionality retained. Some people commented negatively on the screen. I think it's just fine. No major glare issue, everything is visible to me during bright sun.

Cons: GPS voice volume doesn't raise and lower with the stereo volume knob... , camera style (just my preference) I'd like to see the graphics spiced up a bit.

This is just a Nav add on. It blends with SYNC without giving up any of the SYNC features. You do loose a 12v power plug by the USB plug. However the 12v can be rerouted somewhere else.

Pros: Product is what it promises.

Cons: Instruction, installation and operation difficult to understand.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This GPS and backup camera is a very good product for the money. The fit is good and it really looks factory. I did have to do some lite grinding with a small flat file on the face plate to get it to mate up correctly. This is very common on almost any aftermarket Stereo equipment and was in no way difficult or out of line with the industry standard. I have installed many before so keep that in mind. For me having a shop do this in my opinion would be throwing money away. If you follow instruction and take you time it's really easy. Wires can only hook up one way and the mistakes you make will most likely be forgetting to hook up a wire. It's pretty much fool proof other than that. And just to confirm what others here have said: You do not need an amp with this unit and YOU WILL need a very small torx bit. I had a cheap multi bit pack from hardware store that had it. All my factory equipment still works with this system.

Pros: Great look great value and an easy install! Steering wheel controls are maintained. Did not spend one dime more on anything else to complete install. THIS IS LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE OF ANYTHING THAT MAINTAINS FACTORY CONTROLS !!!

Cons: GPS mutes phone when giving driving commands. And touch screen is a little fussy when cold.

    Nice Product, BUT...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For what is does, it does it pretty well. Fist of all, like others have stated, this is not an easy install. Routing the camera through the truck can be problemsome and major dash pieces have to be removed to install unit. The instructions were very bad, missing several steps and not listing accurate numbers of screws that needed to be removed. The camera cable that came with the unit would not click into place, therefore I had to do without the camera. The navigation is great. Very intuitive and accurate, by far the best part of the system. The display for radio, sirius, phone, etc., is very microsoft DOS looking. Just a grey display with basic information on it. The display is probably the most dissapointing thing about this system. The way that it is angled in the truck on a sunny day makes the unit almost unreadable. There are dim, contrast and color adjustments, but they do not make any difference in the readability of the unit during the day. As far as looks are concerned, this is as close to the factory look that you can find anywhere. The plastics used were top notch. Speaking of plastics though, if you have the 40/20 split jump seat f150, you have to cut a section of plastic off of the factory cubby under the bezel. By in large if you want a factory look that enhances what you already have and adds a really good navigation, the system is pretty good. Thats why I gave it 4 stars. If you are expecting anything more you will be unsatisfied.

Pros: Great navigation. Sync works perfectly. Looks factory.

Cons: Hard install, display is too dim, software is outdated and Crutchfield knows nothing about this product. If you are looking for tech support, call Rosen. They will be the only ones to help. Crutchfield does provide great customer support, but not tech support on this item..

Great addition to keep OEM dash look

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation time was on par with what others stated here (around 4 hours). There is certainly some work that could be done on the instructions, but if you are somewhat experienced with car stereo installations then you can stumble your way through it. Everything is supplied with the kit that you need, just make sure you go through the supplied tool list pretty thoroughly before you start. I was pretty close to stopping when I couldn't find one of the smaller torx bits that was needed for the radio swap out to the new dash, but got lucky and found what I needed.

Pros: For an OEM looking NAV addition while retaining all Ford SYNC and steering wheel capabilities and a great backup camera kit, this kit is at a FANTASTIC price.

Cons: Don't expect any new media features that you didn't have before as it is essentially your SYNC system repackaged (won't play DVD movies and such ...etc)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The system looks really nice and looks factory installed. First install took about 4 hours. I have had apart and back together so many time I can do it in about 45 minutes. Everything works very well except for the satellite radio. I can see the artist and the name of the song but no sound comes out until I turn volume up all the way, then I can hear a faint beat. I have installed two systems in my pickup. I have taken to a professional installer and have also taken to Ford. All I have to do is unplug the navigation system and the satellite radios works. Keeping the system hoping Rosen comes with a fix.

Pros: Pretty easy install. Like that I can change my navigation route.

Cons: All screens are pretty plain except the navigation screen and phone screen.

Can't beat it for the $

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Simple install, looks like it came with the truck. Instructions provided by Rosen are adequate. Took about 3.5 hrs to install including rearview camera. Time will tell about the Nav software but it appears on par with the Garmin Software in my Kenwood DNX 9140 head unit. YOU DO NOT NEED AN AMP FOR THIS INSTALL! When you go to checkout on Crutchfield you will get a notice that you will need an amp, you don't.

Pros: Simple install, looks very close to factory

Cons: No audio display when on nav screen

    Great Purchase

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I also bought this with no reviews listed and very little info on the web; took a chance and am very pleased. The intergration with the Sync and Sattilite Radio is flawless and I couldnt be happier with the AV input (I found no info on this when doing research) which allows me to connect any item with rca cables (Xbox ect...) as a side note no bypass is needed to have a passenger use the screen while the car is on motion, the brake feature is simply an option when you enter the 4 digit code to input the settings of your particular model at the end of installation. I was so hesitant to add an aftermarket unit to my F150 because of all of the sync features and the hoops you had to jump through on other units. Overall I would recomend this to anyone who would like to add an aftermarket unit to their F150 with the added feature of keeping your sattilite radio, steering wheel controls, and sync features in tact with out all the extra price.

Pros: Great OEM look, and intergration with the Sync features.

Cons: As with the other reviews the install was somewhat cumbersome and the instructions could be written a lot better; however if you take your time and go through each step slowly you should be able to figure out the install.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is not a do-it-yourself project unless your technically inclined. Took apart the truck, but installing it, the instructions were so bad I ended up taking it in a Sound Design shop for the install. The instructions are typical non-American instructions, meaning all but worthless. Once installed, the GPS user guide is ok. So, final analysis, once you get this item, get the product installed by a professional unless you are one and the product looks like OEM once installed in the truck. I do recommend this product.

    Pros: Product is as advertised.

Cons: Unless a professional must be installed by a professional.

    Great Product

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall this product is great. I bought this with no reviews. At the price including backup camera I figured I would take the risk. This absolutely looks like it came from the factory. Navigation seems to work well. I like it better than my garmin. Sync also still works perfect because you use your factory radio. Keep in mind I do not recommend installation by anyone who is a novice. The new radio bezel had to be sanded down because a/c buttons would push it but wouldn't pop back out. I had to fit some of the pieces by hand to look nice. Back up camera is a nice add and triggers in reverse.

Pros: Looks factory. Adds backup camera. Great value for the money.

Cons: Hard to install instructions were poor (on rosens end) .

    Great Upgrade

Cajun Engineer from Marksville, LA on 11/30/2012

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The CS FD1030-P11 Navigation Receiver is a great add on to the F150 Sync system. The final installation looks factory, with all the Sync functions work as before. Updating maps for the navigation system is a plus. The backup camera works great, but looses sharpness at night. Crutchfield had the best price that I could find anywhere. I would recommend it to anyone. I would not recommend anyone to try installing it alone without some knowledge or skill to do such an installation,

Pros: Finished installation looks like a factory installation. All sync functions works as before. Navigation mode works great with many functions and features.

Cons: The instructions weren't the best and the pictures were hard to see as they are in black and white. The screen could be better ( brightness, especially in day time).

    Built-in Navigation

    System Features

Compatibility: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 In-Dash Navigation System is designed specifically for the 2009-2012 Ford F-150 with factory SYNC. The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 includes a Navigation touchscreen display, Dash kit, vehicle harness, GPS antenna, AV input harness, rear-view camera, and other installation hardware. This unit is simply a navigation control screen add-on for the Ford SYNC system, without a built-in amplifier, AM/FM receiver, or audio controls. The Ford SYNC system stays intact so you still access all its functions through the the Ford F-150 factory SYNC controls.

Note: Not for non-SYNC or Sony audio systems from Ford.

SYNC Control: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 retains all factory SYNC capabilities and other factory installed functions; including:

    • SYNC controlled 1 & 6 disc audio system (AM-FM-CD-iPod)
    • SYNC controlled Bluetooth hands-free system
    • USB port (iPod only) and Aux input (audio only) for multimedia playback
    • Steering wheel controls

Touchscreen Display: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 In-Dash Navigation System features a 6.95" high-definition touchscreen, anti-glare display with auto and manual dimming control. The 6.95" touchscreen monitor display SYNC, Radio, and other functions in a much higher resolution than the 2-line factory display found in your Ford F150.

Dash Kit: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 uses an automotive-grade ABS plastic dash kit (black) that has been designed to match the system's navigation touchscreen panel as well as your Ford F-150's factory control knobs and push-buttons. Unfortunately, the vehicle's factory cigarette lighter/power socket will be lost when using this kit.

AV Input: The CarShow In-Dash Navigation System features a rear-mounted composite video/stereo RCA audio output that allows you to connect an external display and headphone system in the rear of your vehicle. The rear entertainment output mirrors the system's main audio/video source.

Rear View Camera: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 In-Dash Navigation System includes a color rear-view camera with reverse trigger, so you can back up safely. The rear-view camera installs within the Ford F-150's tailgate handle.

Optional Backup Sensor: The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 In-Dash Navigation System is compatible with the DP-1030 Backup Sensor Kit (135DP1030, sold separately). This Backup Sensor Kit will send an audible warning through your vehicle's audio system, if your vehicle backs up too close to an object.

    Built-in Navigation

Navigation Mapping Software: The map database (by TeleAtlas) used by the CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 was created using high-resolution aerial and land based data collection. Navigation data is stored on a pre-installed 4GB microSDHC memory card for quick access and response. The unit provides map coverage of the entire United States (all 50 states). The unit's integrated iGo Primo navigation software provides turn-by-turn visual and voice assistance to direct you to your selected destination. The built-in software quickly calculates step-by-step directions to any destination available on the included navigation map.

Note: The pre-installed 4GB microSDHC memory card must remain in the unit during navigation. If the microSDHC memory card is removed, you will not be able to access the unit's navigation functions. When you reinsert the microSDHC memory card, the unit must be reset to restore navigation functions. The navigation content on the microSDHC memory card contains a License Code. This code cannot be moved to different cards. If the microSDHC memory card is lost or damaged in anyway , it will render this Navigation system inoperable. Damaged or deleted files on the navigation microSDHC memory card are not covered under the product warranty.

Map Updates: Car navigation maps are frequently updated. While this database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release, a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time. It is easy to keep the navigation system up to date. Simply download new map data from, store the updated map data on a microSD card and insert it into the unit via the front-panel microSD card slot.

GPS (Global Position System): The unit's built-in navigation helps you find your way to your destination with an integrated GPS receiver & external GPS antenna. The CarShow CS-FD1030-P11 features a built-in SiRFprima GPS receiver and includes an external magnetic GPS antenna. The unit uses Global Position System (GPS) satellites, and a digital roadway map database to calculate and display vehicle positioning and travel direction. The unit considers vehicle speed an heading changes, together with longitude and latitude information, to accurately determine vehicle heading and position on a digital map. Signal from GPS satellites are used to determine the vehicle location. Three (good) or four (best) satellites must be receive to accurately determine location.

Note: This unit does not transmit your GPS position, so others cannot track you.

On-Screen Map: The unit's on-screen map shows your vehicle's current position (a red arrow by default), the recommended route (an orange line), the surrounding map area, and your destination as a checkered flag. The on-screen map shows streets, roads, and highways in a way that is similar to how a paper road map show them. A road's width and colors corresponds to their importance, so you can easily tell a freeway from a small street. When navigating a route, the top section of the map screen shows information about your next route maneuver and the next street or the next city/town. When approaching a turn, the map screen will zoom in and raise the view angle to let you easily recognize your maneuver at the next junction. If the next turn is at a distance, it will zoom out and lower the view angle to be flat so you can see the road in front of you. The map also displays data; such as the posted speed limit, your current speed, current time, distance to your destination, time left before you reach your destination, and your arrival time.

    • 2D/3D Map Mode: The navigation system allows you to view its on-screen map in a 2D (two-dimensional) or 3D (three-dimensional) view. Similar to paper road maps, the 2D mode, shows you streets, roads, and elevation by color. In 3D mode, you can see the altitude and elevations differences. You can distinguish between valleys, mountains, and elevated roads. In selected cities 3D landmarks and 3D buildings are also displayed.
    • Color Mode:The navigation map screen uses different color themes (Day/Night) during the day and during the night for both the map and the menu screen. Daytime colors are similar to paper road maps, and the menus are bright. The nigh color themes use dark colors for large objects to keep the average brightness of the screen low. You can also set the navigation unit to switch between daytime and night color modes automatically based on the current time and GPS position.

Lane Information & Signposts: The unit's navigation map offers helpful lane information & signpost guidance.

    • Lane Information: When driving on multi-lane roads, it is important to take the appropriate lane in order to follow the recommended route. If lane information is available in the map data, the map screen will display the lanes and their directions using small arrows at the bottom of the map. Highlighted arrows represent the lanes you need to take.
    • Signposts: Where additional information is available, signposts substitute arrows. Signposts are displayed at the top of the map. The color and style of the signposts are similar to the real ones you can see above the road or by the roadside, They show the available destinations and the number of the road the lane leads to.
    • Junction View: If you are approaching a freeway exit or a complex intersection and the needed information exists, the map is replaced with a 3D view of the junction. The lanes you need to take are displayed with arrows. Signposts can also be present, if information is available.
    • Tunnel View: When entering a tunnel, the map is replaced with a generic tunnel image so that surface roads and buildings cannot distract you.

Audible Alerts: The CS-FD1030-P11 offers various audible alerts and functions to help you get to your destination safely.

    • Voice Guidance (Text-to-Speech): In addition to graphic directions, the receiver provides voice guidance and turn-by-turn directions. You can select from English, French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese audible languages. The volume of the voice prompts can be increased with increases in speed to overcome road noise. Voice guidance can be turned off if you prefer.
    • Safety Alert: This function can warn you when you approach road safety cameras, school zones, or railroad crossings (if available). You can also add your own alert points. Beeps or the spoken type of alert will be heard when you are approaching of these points.
    • Speed Limit Warning: Some maps may contain information about the speed limits of certain road segments. The unit provides an audible warning if you exceed the recommended speed limit.

Where Am I?: This screen contains information about the current position (or approximately the last known position if GPS reception is not available) and a button to search for POIs nearby.

Find Menu: The Find Menu gives you many different ways to choose your destination or insert a waypoint in your current route. An on-screen keyboard appears to allow you to enter your destination from one of the following categories:

    Destination Search Description
Find on Map Search for a destination by scrolling the map display.
Find Address Enter a full address or part of an address, or two intersecting streets.
Find Places Search for over 11,000,000 points-of-interest (POIs) by name or category; search near your current location, in a specific city, along your current route, or near your destination.
Favorites Store your favorite locations for easy recall.
History Destinations that you have set previously.

Route Calculation: The built-in navigation system calculates the route base on your preferences. You can choose from the following:

    • Route Method: You can choose which route method (Fastest, Shortest, Green, or Easy) the navigation unit should use when calculating your route.
      • Fastest: give a quick route, if you can travel at or near the speed limit on all roads. Usually the best section for fast and normal cars
      • Shortest: gives a route that has the smallest total distance of all possible routes. It can be practical for slow vehicles
      • Green: gives a quick, but full efficient route based on the fuel consumption data you provide
      • Easy: results in a route with fewer turns and no difficult maneuvers
    • Avoidances: You can tell the navigation unit to avoid certain types of roads along your calculated route, such as - Highways, Tolls, Carpool/HOV, Unpaved Roads, and/or Ferries.

Inserting Via-Points: You can expand your route by inserting via-points (intermediate destinations).

Itinerary: The Itinerary is the list of the route events and driving instructions.

Trip Logs: Trip logs contain useful information about your trip. Trip logs can be saved manually when you reach your destination or automatically along your route. Trip log data includes - Start/End Time, Avg./Max. Speed, Total/Driving/Stopped Time, Total Distance, and Min./Max. Altitude.

Detour: This screen contains quick detour possibilities during navigation so you can bypass a part of the route.

Automatic Route Recalculation: The unit will automatically recalculate your route if you stray from the navigation unit's previously calculated route.
