Did not need the smaller of the 2.
Pros: Direct fit.
Cons: Did not need the smaller of the 2.
Was the recommended dash kit for mt 2001 BMW 330CI. This kit is complete junk. The single din head unit I ordered does not fit lengthwise and the plastic is curved, so looks terrible if you can actually get the head unit to fit. Look for another kit.
Cons: everythingCrutchfield response on April 19, 2017 Once we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to Matt help him further. We'll either help him get the kit installed correctly, or help him return it for an exchange or refund.
Complete junk. Had to trim over a quarter inch in width, head unit did not fit. The upper edge is very flimsy and almost snapped when I was trimming and filing very carefully. Could not use my head unit's mounting bracket, it simply didnt fit without destroying the plastic. When I finally got the head unit in there, the angle of the face plate did not match, and it leaves a very visible gap. Not happy with it at all, will replace it with another brand soon.
Pros: Not much goid to say about it.
Cons: Doesnt fit the head unit without trimming and filing for 30 mins, material is very cheap, plastic does not match the grain and gloss level of the other trim pieces in my car - even though its made for my car, and it leaves an ugly gap around the stereo.Crutchfield response on April 3, 2017 Once we saw this review, our Customer Support team reached out to issue Dustin a refund.
Fits and looks great in my 1999 BMW 323i
Pros: Perfect fit Looks like factory original
Not a perfect fit, texture of plastic does not exactly match surrounding OEM plastic.
Fits almost perfectly in my BMW. There is a little bowing around the edges where the plastic is thinner. All-in-all I would recommend.
Fit like a glove
Top warped first day in the heat, hard to reach corner buttons at bottom of radio.
Cons:Crutchfield response on September 13, 2016 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I was worried when ordering this online that it might look cheap when put in my car, but matched the rest of my dash well, instruction were easy to follow and product fit perfect
Pros: easy peasy, looks great
Very cheap plastic. Is held firmly in the bay of my 99 e46 bmw, but the frame itself is so limp that it can wiggle. Can't complain because of how cheap it was and it actually looks very good with the rest of the interior. Just feels very cheap
Pros: Cheap Good fit Easy to install
Fit and finish are OK, but BMW has a OEM Radio that is curved. All the aftermarket head units have a flat front bezel. This causes the head units to look scabbed in, and the buttons are recessed so far that they are near impossible to reach and to small to get at.
Pros: it will make aftermarket DIN radios fit a BMW dash. Just not pretty.
Cons: looks like a aftermarket radio. This is downgrade from my original factory radio
Great fit for my 2003 BMW 325xi and matches pretty well.
Total piece of crap, no way it was for my application (2003 BMW) had to cut the hole 1 inch bigger for the radio to fit the hole, the radio will not fit the dash, it was so ugly I reinstalled the original radio
Cons:Crutchfield response on January 5, 2016 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Makes my Kenwood unit fit perfectly with the look of the dash in my 1999 BMW 323i sedan
Kit was recommended by Crutchfield and fits great
Pros: Quick and easy
Simple, not a clean fit. Piece was too large and the skinny/thin areas of the plastic will bow. I had to sand down edges to make it look decent. The outside pattern/skin isn't even close to what the BMW skin is.
Pros: it eventually fit after a lot of sanding and painstaking manipulations
Cons: Everything... sheen is wrong, even after sanding the plastic is too skinny in places and bows. Not a good design
Shipped fast, out of the box it looked as pictured. Install was a breeze. Fits snugly into opening. The best place to put the wires I found was behind the AC control unit.
Cons: Opening is pretty small. So therefore anything with a sliding top or a flip out screen won't fit. Remember to remove your receivers trim as well because it won't fit with it on.
Had to modify myself for the CD player to go in. Took a little bit of time but finally all came together.
Used to install JVC stereo in my 03 BMW 325i, fits perfectly, have no problem at all with it
Pros: perfect fit in dash
Used this to install a JVC into my 04 BMW. Easy, straightforward and blends in great.
Looks great in my dash. Really gives the new head unit a finished look.
Pros: nice tight fit
Cons: the opening is off center to the left for some reason
The itme worked as advertised but you won't like the results in an e46 BMW dash as the new radio will be mounted to the left (off-center) above the ac controls. I ended up buying the $100+ OEM conversion kit over the internet that centers the aftermarket radio in the dash stack.
Pros: Fits well
Cons: not centered and nowhere does it say this in the description
Product fits dash perfect.
Pros: Fits dash perfect and looks good.
Cons: Doesn't fit the radio without modifying.
It fits in place of the stock stereo perfectly, but its opening for the new stereo is a little small. I bought a pioneer mvh-x560bt and it was a little too wide for the gap, but that wasn't a problem with the help of a dremel to shave the plastic piece some.
Pros: Fits fine, only option around
Cons: Not an exact fit for some stereos
A snug fit is a good thing but this was a little past snug
The receiver kit fits perfectly, lines up with dash contour perfectly and looks like it was factory installed.
Pros: Fits great. Directions very easy to read. Easy install.
Not perfect, but something like this is required.
Pros: Provides sufficient interface of shrouds to make install. It looks good enough, just not completely like factory. Love new radio with bluetooth.
Cons: Original radio slants top to bottom, new radio is straight. There is a small gap between radio and this shroud interface.
Works ok. Newer head units are a very tight fit in the 325i that I have, so be prepared so spend a good deal of time getting everything situated behind the unit before putting this trim piece on.
Looks nice...hardest part was getting the connector positioned to fit the radio in far enough. Had to cut off part of the connector (OEM side) that wasn't being used, in order to finally get the radio in. The connector was positioned to the far right.
Worked great in my wifes 04 bmw 325. Had to trim some plastic from behind dash for radio to slide in smoothly. This was because of the way the car is, nothing to do with the dash install kit.
Easy to install and looks pretty good except the color is not a perfect match to the darker trim in my 2004 BMW 325xi. Maybe it is a better match for other models. Would have given this a 5 rating had the color been better.
Pros: Easy to install Good fit and looks factory
Cons: Not a perfect color match
Once I got the radio in all the way, the trim adapter fit perfectly Looks good with my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X696 radio. The instructions say not to put the tabs down in the DIN mount. I thought that was a little odd, but everything is in and it works.
Pros: Good match to the car.
Cons: Instructions sound odd.
this adapter does the job, but the instructions are lacking. What you really need to do is pop out the heater controls and upper vent, pull out the OEM plastic radio "support structure"... install the radio and this cover plate to the plastic support, and then insert the whole unit into the car, moving the wires out of the way through the vent hole (and up into the dash). I needed to use a piece of hose to "shim" the radio against the front plate (between the back of the radio and the stock plastic radio rack. I also had to drill and tap the center hole of my new Kenwood to allow the stock rubber "bullet" piece that holds the radio in place (to accept it from the OE unit). It would be nice if a new bullet adapter was included
Pros: does what it says
Cons: could have better instructions and include a rubber center "bullet" for the back of the radio.
Fit was perfect, very clean look!! Was reluctant about putting a aftermarket stereo in my wife's car because they usually look out of place. This kit is great!!
Pros: Fit and Look
Cons: The texture in the plastic was a little more course than the factory BMW
There was no possible way to install the new Kenwood readio with the kit that you sent. I fortunately ordered a BMW factory conversion kit online. Without this factory kit from BMW, the new radio wound not have fit into the space that the BMW radio came out of. Tell your customers that they should order a factory conversion kit. What you sent was worthless.
The in dash kit does not fit well to the stereo. The stereo is too tight on one side and there is a gap in the other. The kit interferes with the stereo face opening up to insert a cd. Does not fit the stereo well either, you can see the stereo cage because of the gap.
Pros: Matches the dash nicely
Cons: Bad fit
Fit fine, except required minor trimming of plastic on non-showing back of plate, as expected.
It matched the dash like factory made. Great product.
Fits 2002 BMW 325i perfectly!
Fit and finish was great!
fits and matches well and is very sturdy and holds the radio in snugly...another great no fee additional peripheral required for my installation and supplied totally free by Crutchfield when I bought my radio from them...
