Fits well enough

Antigini from El Paso, Tx on 4/24/2008

Before the box was ever purchased Crutchfield was contacted to see if a Rockford Fosgate P2 12" dual-coil sub would fit. The answer was yes. Come to find out during installation, the external ring which is used to secure the sub does NOT fit. If you do not use that ring the sub will eventually deteriorate around the screws, or just not sound like it should. I had to buy a different sub in order to have everything fit and work correctly. Also, if you have a satellite receiver, either you must relocate it or remove it for the box to fit. The grille on the box did not fit so well with the Kicker sub either. The box looks great, and doesn't take up too much room! No complaints about that.

Perfect Mustang Sub Box

This subwoofer inclosure is a perfect fit for my 2006 Mustang GT. I loaded it with a JBL GTO1204D dual voice coil sub. Like other people, I couldn't fit the grille over my chosen subwoofer but it looks much more impressive with it off.

*Installation tip: Since the top mounting bolt is in such a tight location it is impossible to get a socket on it. I purchased a M8-1.25 x 25 socket head cap screw(86 cents) & used an allen wrench to tighten it. MUCH easier than using the supplied bolt. Scosche should include one of these bolts with the enclosure. Hope this helps someone else out with their installation.

Nice enclosure for Mustangs

A very nice enclosure for the 05+ Mustangs. The car looks like it came with it from the factory. The best part is it allows you to enjoy your tunes with some real bass without eating all your cargo space. This was the most important feature for me as my trunk is filled with sporting equipment. The only downside is the sub grille does not fit over the Kenwood sub I installed. Other than that it is worth every penny if you value your cargo space. One more thing, you do have to play with it a little bit to get both brackets to lineup with the holes in your trunk.

2007 Ford Mustang

The construction of the box is very nice. I had to remove the plastic ring off my Kicker VR comp so it would fit in the round space that was cut in the box. The challenge with this box is getting it to mount in the correct location on a 2007 Ford Mustang GT. I have the shaker 500 stereo and Ford has relocated the sirius radio receiver to the inside of the fender well where the box backs up to. I contacted Crutchfield and schocshe. They were unaware of this and did not have ny type of solution for this.. I was only able to use the lower bracket on the outside hole to secure it due to the obstruction from the sirius satellite radio receiver. This makes the box stick out about 6 inches more than it should into the trunk. The sound of the box is excellent.

Better than the Shaker 1000 sub box.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice box, A little thin on the fiberglass. I lined the inside with fat-mat and the box tighten up a lot. Installed a Fosgate p3 duel vc 12" in the box and it fit great. I rewired the leads inside because they were about 2" too short. The fit in the car was great top mounting hole lined up but the bottom was off a little. If you are looking to add or replace your sub system this is a good place to start. When can we expect to see the matching driver side box?

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product. It is the only subwoofer box on the market, including the factory 1000 unit, that is small enough that you can get golf clubs (2-sets) in the trunk without folding down the rear seats. It is well made - I agree with others the wires are too short - I rewired it, which is no big deal. I installed an Infinity Kappa Perfect DVC sub, which fit well even with the factory grill. I have had it since January 2006 hooked up to an MTX 421D 420Wx1 amp, and it is the best sounding sub I have heard.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've had this box for a few months now. It is very well put together and was easy to install. It looks perfect in the Mustang trunk and takes up as little space as possible due to the way it is molded to fit the corner. I had no problem mounting my Infinity Perfect 12.1d. Crutchfield said the box is 1.2 cuft and that works perfectly for my woofer. You should have no problem with woofer selection using this box. The only thing is I could not fit the included grill and had to buy a different one.

Nice Box, careful on sub selection

Glenn from USAF Germany on 8/18/2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The box came in record time (as usual for Crutchfield). I installed an Infinity reference sub and it's external mounting diameter is a little larger than normal, so I had to use the screws to pull the sub to the mounting surface (about 3/16 or an inch down. Be careful on sub selection since this also made the grille not fit! Also the top mounting bracket lined up perfectly, but the bottom one isn't even close...off by about an inch. All in all the box looks good. Carepting job could be better, but you can't see that area that looks bad. It would also be nicer to have longer wires internally to hook up the sub, they are about 3 inches too short. If you want something that takes up very little room, sounds great and is an easy install, get this, I do not regret the purchase!!
