I installed this product a few days ago after having no success with direct auxiliary input
adapters for my headunit. The installation was easy - solder or wiretap the 12 volt power
and ground, and the rest is plug-and-play. It fit well behind my radio. The part that is
meant to be exposed has a green illuminated power switch and an input, and is meant
to be installed with double-sided tape. Personally, I think it looks tacky, so I installed a
separate jack in the center console and put the switch in the glove box.
Unfortunately, the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. I have no problems with
volume as others have said. However, there is background static. The quality of the
music itself is almost perfect, lows are clean, smooth and have good punch, and the
highs are relatively crisp. The static behind the music is only really noticeable at high
music volumes during quiet parts of the music, but for an audiophile like me, it's pretty
annoying. At normal listening volume, the quality is great. Unfortunately for me, normal
listening volume is very loud, and so I'm stuck with static. It's not intolerable, but it's
there. Simply for the stock look, it's a step up from a cassette adapter, but just barely.
Also, often I can't charge my phone while using this device without interference. Overall,
I'm happy with the product, but just barely.
