Average Customer Review(s):
It fit in my van perfectly, had no issues.
Fit was spot on with the vehicle and aftermarket radio. Overall durability of the kit should provide years of use.
I am very pleased with the mounting adapter. Keeps a stock appearance very well. Installation was straightforward and easy for anyone who has changed a couple radios.
Pros: Ease of installation. Factory appearance.
This is a very clean looking piece fit well. As with some of the other reviewers one of the screws broke the plastic housing which I used a two part epoxy to repair. I should have spent a little time sifting through my coffee can of screws to fine some that fit a little better.
Pros: Fits nicely and looks good
Cons: Mounting screws are too big
nice addition to the package
This product fit perfectly in my van. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is that the instructions were not 100% clear regarding the installation of my steering wheel controls. Thankfully, The customer service representatives at Crutchfield were amazing and able to get me squared away. Everything works exactly the way I hoped it would and I am loving the new stereo in my wife's car!
Pros: Perfect fit Works as advertised Amazing customer service help (you've won a customer for life!!)
Cons: One portion of the instructions were not clear and were missing a couple steps to get this to run correctly. Had it not been for the customer service/technical support team I would not have been able to figure it out.
perfectly fits in the dash board of my Honda van. No adjustments /trimmings were needed.
Fits well and looks like it goes with the vehicle.
Fits perfectly. Real good product. My only complaint is the way the head unit sits in it. I installed it in a 2006 Honda Odyssey and the screen is straight up and down and looks a little odd. Would have preferred if it was angled a bit. But that is really nitpicking.
This made my radio look like a professional install in my 2007 Honda Odyessy. Very easy to use, perfect touch for aftermarket installs.
The Honda stereo consol is a large center piece in the middle of the dash. This provided a great transition from the stock stereo to an aftermarket.
Pros: Perfect fit, snapped into place well.
Looks great. The original 2006 Honda stereo unit is held in place with three screws, one of which is tucked way under the unit. This panel holds your replacement stereo with only two screws at the bottom front. The top of this panel is therefore not held tight against the top of the dash panel. That's my only complaint. I had some concerns when I first received this that it is made of plastic, but it seems plenty sturdy to hold my new Pioneer head unit.
Made installation a breeze. Looks decent.
Pros: Looks decent, Fits very well
The fit was prefect for my 2005 Honda Odyssey. It could've come with better assembly instructions ( it was simple but not intuitive.) I figured it out and the radio is seated wand working perfectly.
Pros: Great fit and clutter free appearance.
Cons: Better instruction for attaching radio.
Fits great in my 2006 Honda Oddessy. Looks great with my Kenwood DDX6902S.
Pros: Looks great Easy to install
Product could be better but with one major glaring oversight....the screws are the wrong size. I mean there is not a chance in the world that they fit. I was just a little upset that Crutchfield would keep selling it this way. It would only take about $.20 of screws to make it right
Pros: Perfect fit and looks amazing
Cons: Screws that don't fit make your head want to explode (especially when you have worked so hard to get the radio in place and right as you are about to insert....time to run to the hardware store for $.20 worth of screws.Crutchfield response on 7/6/2016 Thanks to EL's review, along with others, Crutchfield's car kit guru, Darren, informed our kit manufacturer about the problem. They will be updating these Honda kits with the appropriate screws shortly.
This fit perfectly - both the dash and the radio! No modifications or messing with it was required--just follow the directions and install it. What else can you say?
Pros: Perfect fit.
Cons: None that I can think of.
There were no instructions included. So I had to guess a bit. I think I got it figured out but the screw holds are not predrilled in the plastic and I was not careful about screwing in exactly strait and begun to crack on of the screw holes. Crutchfield offered to replace the unit but I declined. The only other negative comment I have is that there are not only two screws holding the radio unit to the car where the original allowed for three. The old radio was heavier and this does not appear to be an issue with this radio. It appears to be snugly secured with the two screws and plastic clips. The color appears to match well and and there are no visible gaps. It looks fine.
Pros: Correct size and color.
Cons: Lack of instructions. Caution when driving in the screws to connect side plates.
Had to modify bracket. Had to cut bracket to make it fit. Finish product looks like factory fit. Lots of modifications to the bracket to make it fit right.
Pros: Looks like it came installed in car from factory. Nice fit.
Cons: Lots of modifications to make it fit right.
Perfect fit for my needs although you should have recommended the FM antenna adapter as well since it was required.
Fit like a glove.
Great item it fit well into my 2007 Odyssey and looks great
First time to install myself. Good product. Fit well
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Seamed to be a few screws short
It looks like a factory install with this kit. The included screws split the plastic mounting holes. I had to use plastic epoxy to seal/fix the split.
Pros: Looks great once installed
Cons: Flimsy construction
The supplied screws split the mounts. Cracked open. Looks like they will not hold for long.
Cons: The supplied screws split the mounts. Cracked open. Looks like they will not hold for long.Crutchfield response on 9/22/2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Had to buy different screws because the ones that came with the kit too large. The screws cracked the plastic. Do NOT but this kit unless you want extra work, money spent and stress on the kit breaking.
I'm not entirely happy with this product. Most of the mounting weight of the head unit is secured in the front of the dash kit, and where the screws go into the plastic is weak. It's holding for now, but I'm not sure about how many bumps and hot/cold weather this dash kit will withstand. There is a crude instruction to build your own mounting for supporting the back of the head unit, but no parts are included with this kit. After using this for a little bit, I wish this dash kit could integrate some kind of hood to provide shade to help with visibility. I think something built in, maybe adjustable, would be awesome.
Pros: The dash kit does look good, fits well and is secure for now.
Cons: Mounting screws into plastic holders are weak.
Good fit for my '06 Honda, and it was easy to install. Unfortunately, the supplied screws split the mounts. Looks like they will hold, but for how long don't know. Went ahead and used it with the split mounts, only because it was only 10 degrees in my garage and I needed to finish up or freeze to death :). I'll let you know if things start coming apart.
Pros: Nice look and fit.
Cons: Poor construction and mounting.
It fit my Honda Odyssey perfectly. I like it better than the factory one. All the hardware fit and worked perfectly. I am well pleased
Pros: Color shape and fit
Looks great in the dash and fits up with the rest of the dash components perfectly. Used with installation of JVC KW-HDR81BT. Did not use the original screws to mount the radio brackets to the rear of the faceplate as they appeared to stress the plastic and split the mounting holes. Used a slightly smaller stainless steel self taping screw. Also bored a hole in the corner with a drill press through which I mounted the microphone for the hands free calling... looks great.
Pros: Looks Great. Installs as advertised to the radio and into the car. Material feels good and works well with the rest of the van's grey interior.
Cons: Question the screw size used to mount the radio brackets to the faceplate... I did not use them.
fits, easy to install, what you see is what you get.
I have used the double din and also the single din kit from crutchfield. Both for a 07 odyssey. I will say that this is a solid kit. Looks great. The only thing I did not like is when you screw the side pieces of the mounts of this kit to the face plate you can see the screws stretching the mounting holes. Put screws in very straight and do not over tighten. Still solid piece
Pros: Solid built piece
Cons: Screws will stretch mounting location of side brackets if over tightened and not put in straight
Mediocre quality. The 4 mounting holes split. Not just expanded, they split. Customer service was excellent. They sent me a replacement w/o argument.
Pros: Ease of use
The screws that come with the kit do not fit the holes to attach the side panels. Had some screws laying around that worked. Used to install a JVC DVD/Nav unit in an '06 Odyssey. Came out looking elegant.
Pros: Finished install fits well and looks fantastic.
Cons: Screws don't fit the holes.
I ordered this kit to install a dvd player into my wifes 08 honda odyssey, the fit and finish is perfect. I used the screws supplied with the dvd player to attach the brackets then the supplied screws that came with the dash kit to connect the deck to the dash kit. Can't get any easier.
Pros: easy to install and great fit
Good fit fir the car. Color matched
Pros: Very strong
Cons: Supplied Screws were not matching the hole. The screw hole gave up even in the half thread . I had to use different set of screws.
This kit came with screws that did not fit the plastic mount screw holes so I broke the first screw hole immediately creating weakness in the structure. I was able to clamp it together with tiny zip ties to hold, but now the mounting job is weak. I used my own screws in the other three holes. There was also no rear support for the stereo so I had to make my own. The face place fits nicely into the dash and looks pretty good.
Although it's probably my own fault for buying a cheap receiver (not from Crutchfield) this kit blocks the video input and the USB port on my PowerAcoustik receiver. This kit is designed so the receiver mounts from the rear of the bezel. I think it would be better if the receiver slid through the opening from the front. This rear mount method does not look as clean. Also, there is no clip or mount at the top of the kit, so there is a small gap. Also note, Crutchfield customer service is usually worth the extra money.
Pros: Quality, thick plastic
Cons: Fit and finish just OK.
My head unit was easily attached to this face plate but there is no rear support for it. Also. . .I had to remove my unit for an adjustment and one of the metal clips came off (stayed in the tab in the van) so be careful if you have to remove anything. Looks factory!
The kit has a higher quality and appearance than some of the older kits. This one looks like part of the Odyssey. One catch, if you are installing a double / full height head unit with this kit, then the Honda rear-mount frame will not work with this kit. So, the entire weight of your head unit will be supported by the front of this frame. If you are not comfortable with this, you should order a rear mount bracket that works with this kit.
