The free RHYTHM app tracks your heart rate and records distance, pace, calories, and more, displaying the info on your smartphone's screen for a dose of real-time motivation and feedback. RHYTHM is compatible with a variety of other fitness apps too, so you can integrate it into your exercise routine, no matter whether it's running, cycling, or spinning.
The RHYTHM Dashboard offers up a detailed look at your workout.
And when you're done working up a sweat you can analyse what you did with the RHYTHM Dashboard. Armband Pulse Monitor: The Scosche RHYTHM is a portable pulse monitor that easily attaches to your forearm and offers full wireless communication with your Apple iOS or Android device via Bluetooth and a free downloadable app.
RHYTHM Fitness App (for Apple iOS & Android): You will need to download the RHYTHM Fitness App to your Apple iOS or Android device (from iTunes or Google Play) to receive detailed physiological vital signs from the wireless armband to your Apple iOS or Android device. Manage pulse rate, calories burned, distance, speed, and pace; as well as review your current and past training sessions to achieve the best workouts possible. You even get access to the RHYTHM Web Dashboard for an enhanced view of your workouts. In addition you'll be able to share your workouts with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers.
Note: The RHYTHM Fitness App is compatible with Apple iPod touch (3rd/4th/5th gen), iPhone (3GS/4/4S/5), and iPad (1/2/3/4) running iOS 5.1 or later. The RHYTHM Fitness App is also compatible and Android smartphones (Gingerbread 2.3.3+) and Android tablets (Honeycomb 3.0+).
Pulse Rate: Blood is constantly moving through the human body and consequently the amount of blood under the skin at any given point is constantly changing. The main forces of blood movement are the heart pumping and physical body movements. The Scosche RHYTHM armband detects blood movement by shining light onto the skin and measuring the amount of light that is absorbed by the skin. In addition RHYTHM uses an accelerometer similar to what is used in popular gaming controllers to detect body movement and then subtracts the movement from the light measurement. All of the data collected from this process is wirelessly sent to your Apple iOS or Android device for further filtering and signal processing via Bluetooth. The final output is then displayed on your Apple iOS or Android device's LCD screen as your pulse rate.
Calorie Counter: Calories burned are calculated using your weight, pulse rate, and time elapsed. Be sure to enter your specific settings prior to beginning a workout.
Training Zones: Your max heart rate is based on the standardized formula; 220 minus your age equals your max heart rate. Each training zone represents a percentage of your max heart rate: Resting 40-59%, Weight Loss 60-69%, Fitness 70-79% Performance 80-89%, Red Line 90% and above.
Partner Apps: You can also use the RHYTHM armband pulse monitor during your workout with the following partner apps - Digifit, iBiker, iPower, RunDouble C25k, iSpinner, iCardio, iRunner, iSmoothRun, Spinning, Runkeeper, MapMyFITNESS, and MyFitnesPal.
Weather Resistant: The RHYTHM pulse monitor is weather resistant, so you can wear it in the rain, sleet, or snow. The RHYTHM cannot be submerged in water.
Interchangeable Armbands: The RHYTHM comes with two adjustable velcro armbands (small & large). The armband should be worn on your forearm, just below your elbow.
Rechargeable Battery: The RHYTHM armband pulse monitor features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts up to 6 hours and can be fully charged in 2 hours. A USB charging cable is supplied.
