Overview: The Scosche Rhythm Speed/Cadence sensor (BLESCAD) mounts to your bicycle and helps you to monitor your workout through the Rhythm Fitness App. The sensor transmits several cycling statistics to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod via Bluetooth.
Rhythm Fitness App: The Scosche Rhythm App is a health and fitness application designed to work exclusively with Rhythm accessories. It has a personalized home screen that you can customize with the stats that meet your needs. You can review the routes and distances you have traveled. The app lets you share your workout via Facebook, Twitter, or other social media. The app is available from the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and requires iOS 6.1 or later.
Speed/Cadence Sensor: The speed/cadence sensor mounts to the chainstay tube with the included rubber strap. Two magnets are included, one to be mounted on a rear spoke and the other on the pedal crank. The spoke magnet interacts with the sensor to measure the speed of the bicycle, based on the revolutions of the wheel. The crank magnet measures your cadence, based on the revolutions of the pedals.
Workout Monitoring: The speed and cadence data is transmitted wirelessly to your iPhone/iPad/iPod and the Rhythm app. A detailed summary of your workout is displayed, including your speed and the intensity of your workout. The app also has a workout calendar for tracking your stats and overall progress.
Power Requirements: The Rhythm Speed/Cadence sensor is powered by a single CR2032 3-volt battery. You can use a coin to open the battery compartment when replacing batteries.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: It can as long as you have one that has a support like the chainstay tube that you find on outdoor bikes. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Aug 18, 2015 ] Staff
