Our take on the Sennheiser G4ME ZERO by Crutchfield's David Brown
Stay focused on the game
When you're playing video games, you probably aren't doing anything else. You want to be completely absorbed in your game. The Sennheiser G4ME ZERO headphones will ensure you are focused solely on the screen in front of you with the sounds of the game filling your ears. These closed-back headphones feature a newly designed memory-foam earpad, which forms a complete seal around your ears. That means external noise stays out of your headphones, while sound effects don't leak out and disturb others. This makes the G4ME ZERO great for late-night playing. It also makes them incredibly comfortable for marathon sessions at your PC.
Legendary Sennheiser sound
The G4ME ZERO headphones are collapsible, so you can fold them up for easy storage and portability.
How do the G4ME ZERO headphones make your video games come to life? Sennheiser has been a world-class leader in headphone technology for decades. In addition to their expertise in reproducing sound with accuracy and detail, they also developed the Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement system. This technology uses acoustic design principles to direct sound into your ear canal rather than at your entire ear, creating a more immersive audio experience. Besides great sound, these headphones also offer a fold-up design for easy storage, volume control on the right earcup, and an extra-long cable so you can get up from your computer to stretch your legs without pulling the headphones out of the jack.
Sennheiser is a leading, world-class producer of both headphones and microphones. So you can be sure you're not getting some cheap third-party mic slapped onto a nice headset. This is a high-quality noise-canceling microphone, which picks up your voice and clearly delivers it to the pathetic opponent you're currently destroying in cyberspace. Need a quick break from narrating your foe's untimely demise? Flip up the mic arm to automatically mute it. Take a deep breath, grab a sip of soda, flip the mic back down, and get back to business.

Overview: The Sennheiser G4ME Zero is a lightweight, high quality PC gaming headset preferred by professional gamers. It features a closed design that helps block out all outside noise so you can concentrate on your game. The G4ME Zero folds flat and stores in the included semi-hard carrying case. With an optional PCV 05 adapter (available from the manufacturer), the G4ME Zero can be used on Macs, Xbox One and PS4.
Note: Xbox One users will also need the Microsoft Xbox One Stereo Headset adapter, in addition to the PCV 05.
Earcup Design: The G4ME Zero's over-ear headset features XXL leatherette ear pads for ultimate comfort. The triple-layered memory foam is thicker at the bottom than at the top, creating a good seal around the ear and preventing sound from escaping. Sennheiser's Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement (E.A.R.) design is the same as that of their high-end hi-fi headphones. The integrated rotary volume control, located on the right earcup, gives you easy and fast sound level adjustment at your fingertips.
Noise-canceling Microphone: The built-in noise-canceling microphone filters out background noise so you can hear instructions and game talk clearly. The mic has a wide frequency response (50-16kHz) and a high sensitivity rating (-38dBV at 94 dB SPL). The microphone is on a 7" boom that can be rotated so you can position it as you like, or swing it up and out of the way when not using it. Raising the boom to the upright position automatically engages the microphone mute. The boom is flexible to allow you to adjust the proximity to your mouth.
Connections: The G4ME Zero's 9'-9" long, fabric-covered main cable has dual 3.5mm plugs, one for the microphone and the other for the game audio. These plug directly into your PC's microphone and headphone outputs. For game consoles with a single 3.5mm jack for microphone and audio connections, the optional PCV 05 adapter is available directly from Sennheiser.
