Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased for use with a Samsung Galaxy S7 exclusively for listening to music mp3 files @ 320kps using the Poweramp Music Player App purchased from the Google Store. Was shipped promptly and packaged very well. The Sennheiser HD 4.30g headphones are made with alot of plastic parts that makes them extremely lightweight but also very "cheap feeling" while handling. Not fall apart in your hand cheap though, just what you would expect a pair of headphones to feel like at this price. The ear cushions are thick but pleasantly soft and pliable, though the earcups sat on my ears instead of completely covering them which is the type I prefer. In cold weather the memory foam ear cushions did "freeze" or turned "hard" making them unusable to me. Sound quality: Deep bass without being sloppy, muddy or artificially enhanced. Deep tight bass. Midrange was clear and present. The highs / treble range were clear but did slope off a little at the top but were not shouting at you or caused me any ear fatigue after extended listening. Overall the sound was well balanced for having the bass it does. The music genres listened to with these headphones were rock / metal. From the Rolling Stones / The Who to Five Finger Death Punch / Mushroomhead / Obituary and Cannibal Corpse for reference. Decided to return the headphones for refund because of fitment issues. The earcups sat on top of my ears instead of covering them completely. The headband being plastic did not clamp do

Pros: Great sound and clean tight bass that did not sound muddy or sloppy.

Cons: Loose fitting plastic headband that is a little too narrow and doesn't provide enough clamping force to keep ear cups in place on top of your ears.

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Brand recommended to me by my son, if they sound like his , I'll be very satisfied [ Antonio  Feb 15, 2017 ]
Was looking for a set of headphones for my Galaxy S7 cell that were NOT Skullcandy or Beats which have flooded the marketplace with less than stellar garbage aimed at children and people who just don't know any better to start with. Tried the Sony extra bass headphones, both the $60 and the $120 model of cans and found them extremely too bass heavy. The freq range on these and reviews convinced me to give them a try along with the price point of only $100 and they are Sennheiser. [ Nick  Feb 05, 2017 ]
Android compatible; microphone; folds for travel. [ Renee  Dec 14, 2016 ]

The headphones provide a standard 3.5mm "minijack" connector for use with any device that offers the 3.5mm headphone output. The in-line remote (volume, play, pause, etc.) will have limited functionality with Apple devices. [ Ryan  Dec 13, 2017 ]  Staff
