Q
I have a Samson smart tv. sometimes after using my headphones the tv sound will turn off. how do I correct this? worked great on my old Samson tv,

A
The way my equipment is set up, I listen to the sound on the tv (I believe from my cable box) though my receiver. The Senheisser headphones work perfectly with this set up. The volume is controlled by the receiver and the headphones. I bypass the tv volume and do not use it to get sound.

Q
No sound in the head set. I have checked all of the connections and all are ok. The green led light is not coming on when the TV is turned on. I do have static in the headset. I have adjusted the tuning knob several times with no sound, What can I do?

Some possibilities: 1. Recharge the headset by placing it on the cradle for at least 24 hours. (When I recharge the headset, I first turn the sound knob on the headset to the off position.) 2. If the above doesn't work, you can try replacing the batteries on the headset with 2 fresh AAA rechargeable batteries. If the new batteries are not pre-charged, place the headset with the new rechargeable batteries on the cradle (with the headset sound knob in the off position) for at least 24 hours before use.

Simple question, but have you changed the batteries?

The green light in my receiver has been out since I got it. Both my headphones worked fine till about a week ago. Spoke with Zane at Crutchfield and he sent me a new one. Received it a couple days ago and both 120 and 135 headphones work perfectly now.

Do you have static if the TV is not turned on. You should if it is tuned properly, and audio turned up. If no, chances are the transmitter is not transmitting. Try a different channel on the transmitter. Are you getting audio out of the TV? Try swapping left and right channels. Sounds odd, but try licking the positive end of the batteries. Saliva is a conductor. Hope something works.

Addendum to my earlier email answer: The customer mentioned that she put in new batteries. In order for the headphones be charged/recharged on the cradle, I believe that only rechargeable batteries as those that come with the headphones should be used.

According to the instructions, the headphones need to be charged for 24 hours before use. This is done by placing them on the cradle (which, of course, needs to be plugged into a power source). A red light will appear. I then plug the wire from the cradle into the phone outlet on my receiver. I turn on the receiver and the on switch on the headphones. Additionally, the headphones need to be tuned by moving the tune dial on the headphones (as one would tune a radio dial to get a station). I recharge the headphones on the cradle every night, follow the above procedure, and they work beautifully.

Try turning the little thumb wheel at the bottom of the right ear cup. If that doesn't work, return them for another pair.

Since you have new batteries we can move on to other possibilities . Easiest first. Have you tried to adjust tuning dial on headset? Also, if you have a new TV it may not have analogue sound capability which is required for the Sennheiser HDR 120. Check your TV settings to make sure. If not, you will need a digital to analogue converter. Also be sure that cable connections in back of the 120 are plugged in securely. Mine we very snug and difficult to get good connection.

Make sure the sound is turned up sufficiently from the device that the transmitter is plugged into. Tune the headphones with the tuning dial so that they are receiving sound from the transmitter. It is like tuning into an old style transistor radio. Make sure the volume is turned up sufficiently on the headphones themselves. Hope this helps.

Is your charging stand connected to the correct sound output. We have ATT and the charging station has to the connected to their equipment not to the TV. I have also noticed if the batteries are not pushed in all the way then we have no sound.

Q
RS 120 come with base chargeer?
jonell  Mar 16, 2017

A
Thanks for your question. I'm sorry, no, there is no base included. On the main product page you can see what's in the box which is HDR-120 Wireless on-the-ear headset and 2 "AAA" Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (1.2V/600 mAh). For the base to be included you would have to purchase the RS 135-9 at the link below, hope this helps. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_143RS1359/Sennheiser-RS-135-9.html
