Get the big picture

The nüvi 2757LM's generous 7" touchscreen puts you right in the thick of the action as you drive. You'll have access to preloaded maps of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and several Caribbean islands, along with millions of points of interest; you can even add your own favorite stopping points. You can find and select businesses right on the map screen without having to go through time-wasting menus. Speed limit displays with visual warnings on major roads help keep you in check, and you'll even be notified of school zones. And with one tap of the screen, you can pull up details for services that lie ahead on your route, including restaurants, gas stations, and more.

Know what's coming next

Garmin incorporates several helpful visual tools to keep you on the correct path:

  • Active Lane Guidance shows you colored arrows for the correct lane for an upcoming turn.
  • Bird's Eye junction view gives you a detailed look at complicated interchanges from above, to give you a better perspective.
  • photoReal junction view displays realistic images of intersections, including signs and surrounding terrain, along with colored arrows for the correct lane.

You'll see all three visual features in a split-screen with your overall route so you won't lose sight of what's further down the road. You also get free updates on traffic along your route and quick solutions for avoiding delays.

Fine audible guidance

The nüvi 2757LM offers Garmin Real Directions with Garmin Real Voice, a combination that helps keep you relaxed as you drive. Real Directions voice prompts speak the instructions to you like a friend would, using easy-to-see landmarks, buildings and businesses, and traffic lights, rather than streets with tiny signs that you might not see in time. With Real Voice technology, you'll hear directions spoken in a personable, human-sounding voice that you'll easily understand.

I love the larger size. Has every route I've ever been on, even rock mountain roads. I never get lost now!

Where Am I?: The "Where Am I?" feature gives you instant access to important information in case of an emergency. There are also buttons to help you locate the nearest hospitals, police stations, gas stations, and roadside assistance. You can also save the location for future reference.

Up Ahead: As you travel along your route, the Up Ahead feature constantly indicates the location of nearby businesses, including gas, food, lodging, restrooms, parking, and banks and ATMs. The locations are shown as icons, some with brand logos, and when the icons are touched on the screen, details of the services are displayed, and you are given the opportunity to navigate to that address.

Garmin Locate: To assist you in finding your parked vehicle, the Garmin Locate feature saves your location to memory when you remove the device from the windshield mounting cradle while the device is on. You can search for your vehicle's location using the Last Spot button in the menu.

Destination Search: When the Where To? button is pressed, you can use the search tools to find your destination and plan your route. myTrends: In addition to the trafficTrends feature, myTrends also takes into account your personal driving habits and anticipates your route when calculating your ETA to your frequent destinations.

Trip Planner: You can create and save a trip with multiple destinations using the Trip Planner. Once you have entered your destinations, you can manually set them in the order of your preference, or allow the device to calculate the most efficient route. Trip itineraries can be saved in memory for future use.

Trip Computer: The trip information page displays your current speed and direction, and provides helpful statistics about your trip. Dual trip odometers keep up with your total mileage. The page also indicates the distance and driving time to your next maneuver, as well as the distance and driving time to your destination. Your maximum speed and moving average speed are also displayed. The information can be reset in advance of your next trip.

Where I've Been/Trip Log: The Where I've Been application allows you to view your previous routes and places you have stopped on the map. In addition, the device keeps a Trip Log, which is a record of the path you have traveled. The Travel History setting must be enabled in order for the Where I've Been and Trip Log features to function.

GPS Simulator: When indoors, you can activate the built-in GPS simulator and practice using the unit. This turns off the GPS receiver so it's not searching for satellites, saving battery power.

I'm not sure. I actually purchased this as a gift and I remember it taking over 10 hours to download the maps once I connected it to my computer. I recommend going to the Garmin web site and finding your answer there or contacting them for the answer via a website "contact us" option if the answer can't be found there. [ SHAWN E.  Jul 21, 2015 ]
I entered Mexico City and it gave me directions from my home in Florida to Mexico City. It says it has maps for all of North America including Canada the USA and Mexico. Hope this helps. [ MARK  Jul 21, 2015 ]
Dunno...bought it as a gift for our grandson....... [ RONALD G  Jul 21, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility. They will be able to pull up your gear and see if there is a Bluetooth adapter. [ Jeff  Mar 06, 2015 ]  Staff
Should work very well in a semi. I bought the on the dash holder so I could place it closer and not have to suction cup it to the window. It makes it very easy to remove. I like mine better than my built in systems in my other vehicles. [ DAVID S  Jan 03, 2015 ]
Garmin makes a d?zl series that are designed for trucking. I would check these out at garmin's website. [ STEVEN  Jan 03, 2015 ]
That I don't know, I'm not a truck driver. I'm told there are however truck driver approved units out there that are made especially for truck drivers. [ DONALD R  Jan 02, 2015 ]
No it is not as good as the Garman GPS units that are specifically designed for 16 wheelers. But if you're trying to plot a course or destination and you want to do it verbally with very little error this is the GPS to have. [ Ted  Jan 02, 2015 ]
Not sure if it's semi truck friendly but it is the best GPS I've ever used. Large screen makes it easy to read and the thing I like about it is that it highlights the right lane U should be in way before the exit comes up. I've had several other Garmins and Tom-Tom's and this one is by far superior to anything else on the market, car or truck. [ FRANKLIN  Jan 02, 2015 ]
The TM version has the FM receiver built into the 12V cigarette socket charger. The LM doesn't. The FM receiver works in most of North America. It doesn't work I'm the UK where I live.... [ ALAN  Aug 25, 2014 ]
I honestly don't know, however I purchased a chip for route 66 which I slid in a nd it works very well as does the garmin 2757LM. I love the big screen! I would suggest calling Garmin direct to get a better answer. [ NORBERT E  Mar 11, 2014 ]
Thank you, I just called Meskers Maps in Seattle, and they said they could for $40.00 a year subscription. Just like cell phones. I'll keep paying till doomsday. Tim [ Tim  Mar 10, 2014 ]
Tim, Sorry but I don't think I can answer this one. Never tried. Think you'll have better luck posing this question to one of Garmin's techies. This model was designed for RV's. [ FRANKLIN  Mar 10, 2014 ]
That I don't know, I never tried that. I had three of those gamins black out on me; therefore I had to return all three for a refund. Crutchfield gave great customer service in taking care of my issues. [ DONALD R  Mar 10, 2014 ]
I'm sorry I can't help you with the topo issue but maybe would want to contact Garman they certainly would have the answer [ Ted  Mar 10, 2014 ]
