RV guidance you can count on

The RV 760LMT portable navigator combines Garmin's reliable guidance, meticulous mapping, RV-centric routing, and convenient extras to help you enjoy your life on the highway. This handy travel companion boasts an easy-to-read 7" display and a powerful built-in speaker to deliver spoken directions you can hear over road noise. It also offers a free traffic-info service so you'll know about congestion along your route, as well as four free map updates per year, to ensure you're up-to-date. Voice-activated guidance lets you search for destinations safely, so you can keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

RV-friendly routing

The RV 760LMT includes a database from America's RV Parks & Services Directory, giving you instant access to nearly 20,000 sites in the U.S. and Canada. You'll be able to find RV parks and campgrounds quickly, and you can narrow your search by type of amenities desired, including pet-friendly, on-site laundry, electric hookups, Wi-Fi®, and more.

The RV 760LMT also provides specialized routing for RV-related restrictions on most roads in the continental United States, Alaska, and Canada. You can specify height, weight, length, and width criteria, and the navigator will provide the best, safest route to your destination. If you're entering an area with a different posted speed limit for trucks or multi-axle vehicles, you'll get an alert for that, too. You'll also receive state border notices, sunrise/sunsets, mile marker info, and the grade of your current road. And you can add a rear-view camera to the navigator's input so you can see what's going on behind you if you have to back up.

Accurate, easy-to-follow directions

The big, high-resolution touch display shows you everything you need to know from the driver's seat. It offers detailed road maps of the entire continental United States, Alaska, Canada, and Puerto Rico, plus urban areas in Hawaii and Mexico. You'll hear text-to-speech voice prompts that say actual road names at turns, like "turn left on Green Street," instead of "take the next left."  The navigator gives you easy-to-understand spoken directions using landmarks, buildings, and traffic lights, so you don't always have to keep an eye out for street signs.

Garmin's Active Lane Guidance feature offers regularly updated animations of your best lane option, not just when you're coming up on the next maneuver. Speed limit warnings help you drive in a conscientious manner. Realistic views of complicated intersections make it easier to get through unfamiliar areas so you can get to the relaxing parts of your journey more quickly.

See what's behind your RV

This Garmin's also compatible with the optional Garmin BC 30 wireless rear-view camera, so you can add an extra layer of safety when you're backing out of your driveway.

Hands-free operation and Bluetooth®

The RV 760LMT's main guidance functions are voice-activated, so you can use your hands to keep your mobile home on course. Simply say the keyword, and you'll be able to find a nearby point of interest, establish a route, or locate a contact without touching the navigator.

The RV 760LMT's built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows you to conduct phone calls hands-free with your compatible phone. You can keep in touch with friends and family without diverting your attention from the road ahead. Most points of interest in Garmin's database include the phone numbers, so you can call ahead to make reservations at restaurants or check availability at nearby campgrounds.

Free lifetime traffic

The RV 760LMT includes a FM-TMC traffic-info receiver which keeps you updated on potential delays in most metropolitan areas. The navigator can offer detailed information on the cause of the delay, and save you time by finding a quick way around the problem. You'll pay no subscription fees for the life of your navigator.

Smartphone compatibility

You can pair the RV 760LMT with your iPhone® or Android™ smartphone to take advantage of Garmin's Smartphone Link app, which allows the two devices to share information, such as saved and recently found locations, where you parked, and your current destination. You can also subscribe to dynamic services from Garmin for more road-friendly content like weather reports and fuel prices for an additional fee. Data charges may apply for using Smartphone Link — you'll want to check with your service provider.

Plan your adventures

No more wasting gas as you sit there typing in your RV -- you can use Garmin's BaseCamp online tool to map out your next journey ahead of time, then upload the finished route to the RV 760LMT before you hit the road. You can mark waypoints and tracks for off-road fun whether you're into hiking, biking, fishing, or just exploring the scenery. You can also share the results of your travels with Garmin Adventures, a free way to swap GPS details with other explorers online. You can create timelines with photos and videos for your trips, and even find new paths to undertake.

Not very accurate

Dor from Chester Springs, PA on 9/2/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Seems like a nice unit until you use it in RV mode. Like someone else said, it'll have you going one direction for one exit only to turn around and go the other way. Alerts me to issues that don't exist. Will send me back and forth down backroads when I should just stay on the highway I'm on. Has the names of highways and roads wrong. It's just crazy. Most inaccurate GPS I've ever owned, and I love Garmin!

Pros: Has a lot of the same features of most Garmins

Cons: See above.

A must for RVs

Jim from Spokane, WA on 7/8/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased this to replace and older 5" Garmin GPS to use while pulling our 40' 5th wheel. This unit is a must while RVing. The display is large enough to read and follow and the volume control on voice commands is plenty loud. The split screen feature is wonderful to view which lane to travel in while exiting those double and triple lane exits. I would give it a 5 star review but the speed limit postings are terrible - even after updating the maps. However, the unit will alarm in advance of speed zone changes which is really nice while pulling a large RV.

Pros: -Large scree -Excellent volume control -Split screen viewing at exits -Speed limit changes in advance

Cons: Speed limits need to be updated

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the first time we have used a GPS in our RV. My husband thought it would be a waste of time until we exited the highway to look for a store and it even told us which side of the road to be on - the paper exit guide doesn't do that. With a 36 foot motorhome and a tow vehicle behind us getting in the correct lane at the last minute can be a real pain. It told us which lane to be in for on ramps and off ramps - we never seem to remember which side to be on. And it warned us of most traffic delays in time to take an exit and another route. We haven't tried all of the features yet, but we are going to keep it. It doesn't seem to understand a lot of the time when given verbal instruction. It doesn't recognize rest areas - sometimes just showing a bathroom icon and sometimes nothing - or it thinks you've left the road. If you take a route it hasn't designated for you it can take a minute to catch up with your new way. But then we wouldn't rely on it enough to do something dumb like drive into a lake! I'm not going to throw away my paper exit guide and maps just yet, but I can see how this would be very helpful. We will be downloading Points of Interest for our next trip later this year and we will be getting it a 4GB chip unless I can figure out how to take off the old maps so the new updates fit. The manual and website could be a little more helpful.

Pros: Pretty easy to use Mapping doesn't use up mobile data on my phone

Cons: It would be nice if it could learn from previous requests

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We were pretty excited to get this as we had been caught in several thorny situations while pulling our travel trailer. This GPS promised to keep us out of the "no turn-around" and driving on what appeared to be semi-dry creek beds. We've had it for a couple of months and have used it for a lot of country and city driving. Only once did we used it for a trip pulling the trailer. Generally we really like it. The large screen, the easy to understand voice directions, the lane-advice, the warnings about upcoming school zones and speed limit changes are all really, really nice. Why only a 3 star. Well, like every other GPS we've had, it's often not accurate regarding highways. It will often have you take an exit off an interstate only to have you get back on at the next ramp. I understand that roads change a lot, especially in urban areas, but there are roads in the Austin, TX area that have been changed for more than a year that this system doesn't recognize. That's all I've got. As far as GPS systems go, this one is great. Greater accuracy is the desired goal.

Pros: Easy to see. Easy to hear. Warns of upcoming school zones and speed limit changes.

Cons: Maps not accurate.

Product so far works as advertised. This is my first venture into the GPS world.

Pros: Easy to read and operate. Looking forward to my first long trip for true test.

Cons: Tried out in areas I am familiar with and it seems to route the long way around.

Garmin RV 760LMT

Pros: Have used this unit over 2500 miles with a 32' Motor Home and experienced just minor issues. Like the large display, which lane to be in ti turn and plenty of warning before exit. Also alerts for school zones, speed zone changes, and some construction zones. This is the best of the pack of RV units.

Cons: No fuel usage tracking, sometimes says restrictions for RV not known on some roads, no propane restrictions.

Very pleased with the quality and information display. Learning curve is short and user friendly. When pulling a large RV all safety related info is appreciated. I have purchased six Garmin units over the past years and have not been disappointed. Thanks!!!

Pros: Quality, information display, ease of use.

Cons: updates are slow to download but are included free in the newer units.

Seems to work well

Dave W from New York on 7/15/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have so far just 'test driven' with this GPS about 500 miles though without our 5er hooked on. So far it has shown to be a pretty decent GPS and pretty accurate. It did miss a marked 10 foot railroad tunnel that's over 100 years old and shows sharp curves where they are sweeping, but that's not a major problem for my use. I am a bit disappointed that I haven't seen a propane warning though everything else needed seems to be there. I'm happy that I didn't order the camera option after seeing a friends. The picture for the money that camera costs is horrible. We will be taking an extended trip next month and may have further comments or another review.

Pros: Large screen, easy to read and a familiar user interface as I have still use 3 other Garmins in vehicles

Cons: No propane warning and surprisingly, no fuel monitor/usage which my Nuvi 2597 has included You don't get a manual beyond an easy set up. You need to download from the Garmin website and print

Outstanding RV GPS

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Exactly what we need for our RV. Large, clear screen screen, loud voice, warnings about tight turns and overhead clearance and lane recommendations have sigificantly reduce our driving stress.

Pros: Large screen, clear voice, lane recommendations, RV specific POIs, speed warnings and RV size specific warnings.

Cons: No fuel usage tracking

Great RV Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to see while driving. Liked timing of upcoming terms, view of intersection / signage on freeway. Tried in car but left in RV mode, was warned that road might not be suitable for RV. Voice command worked well.

Pros: screen size, timing of voice commands, RV warnings, traffic issues.

Cons: battery life

Just what we needed!

Folsom Bill from California on 7/4/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Using a smart phone just wasn't working as a GPS for our new RV. After reading reviews on the RV GPS's available we decided on the Garmin. We have only used it on one trip so far but it has worked well. It will take a few more trips to try everything that comes on this model. We would recommend it anyone looking for a GPS designed for RV travel.

Pros: Large clear screen, lots of features, user interface easy to use.

Cons: Forget the window mount. Order the bean bag mount. It gives you many options of where to put it and is really secure.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unit is typical garmin in ease to use and reliability. I've used other brands for my motorhome but find this unit thus far has worked well. With the available download of garmin base camp it does make it easier to set up a trip. Nothing to compare tontine now discontinued ms street and trips, but pretty good. Garmin presently had 3 at cost additional apps for your cell phonevthatvwill display active weather, active traffic, and location pic. I have not tried these yet but they have mixed reviews on the apps. Bluetooth works well for use as a cell phone hands free if you wish. The traffic ahead transpondervprovidecworkscwell in metro areas

Pros: Garmin, free upgrades, maps are are pretty reliable

Cons: Without using base camp you can't easily drag routes tomusecaltetnstevroads you must set up way points. You can do this with their base camp. But no other gps doescthatveither. At least garmin gives you base camp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased new Gps from crutchfield ! Delivered on time, great price.I did explain to them that I would be using the unit in tandem with a third party back - up camera,as the one that could have been purchased with the unit was not as good of quality. Upon receiving the garmin in the mail and reviewing the instructions. I assertained the need for a garmin video cord. I was suprised that Crutchfield did not stock or have access to the cord. I did due diligence on the cord and found one at a different vendor.

Pros: Great service, price and delivery !

Cons: Carry accessories for the major items you carry or, let's go with one stop shopping!

Nice screan and can be easy to install

JoeyO from Alexandria, Virginia on 6/21/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on a 2015 Volvo XC 60 and it was a Pain in the rear. I tried it on my 2006 F-250 and I could install it in about 20 minutes. Volvo was not helpful at all when I asked for schematics or guidance and there are very few Youtube videos for the Volvo. Crutchfield had little data on the XC 60 either. The camera is good and I like that you can adjust the lines to assist with backing up. I used a hose for guidance then adjusted it to match the hose. My wife likes the screen much more than her I phone 5 for navigation and the suction cup that holds it in place actually work. I would highly recommend this for a truck. I would not recommend it for a SUV if the backup light are not on the lift-gate. Getting the wiring from the license plate to the backup light on the Volvo was very difficult. Overall I really like the screen and the camera adjustments. I'm sure for a RV it would be an easy install. It was easy to install on my F-250 and very difficult on my wife's Volvo.

Pros: Nice Screen and you can adjust the guide lines on the camera. Easy to install on a Pickup

Cons: not easy to install if the backup lights are not close to a mounting location for the Camera

Gary K from Pennsylvania on 5/5/2015

Got this in March when I got my RV and went on the road in April to Florida. Worked well until we got to Jacksonville and we were in slow moving traffic, then it froze up and we had to play with it and finally held in the power button for a time until it re-set. Then on the way home we stayed in some of the states to see different things and in South Carolina we visited a Plantation and when we were finished we wanted to go buy groceries etc, so we went onto the shopping guide and picked the nearest store and it told us it was 1.5 miles down the road, so we made the right hand turn and went down the road, when we got to the spot it told us the store was on the left, only problem was that there was a thick forest there and not even a driveway let alone a store. Then in Virginia we wanted to spend the night at a campground to visit Montecello the next day and we checked it for the closest one and it said it was KOA, so we picked that one. The directions there were accurate, but when we got there it told us to turn left into the campgrounds but it was a right hand turn to get there on the left there was a forest. When we got back home we needed to get it inspected for Pa and being new to the area I found a garage and put in the address and it took me 20 miles out of the way and again when it told me to turn into the garage there was nothing but trees, so I called the garage to get directions and we were no where near it. Disappointing.

Pros: Screen size and all the way it breaks down the road when exiting the highway telling what lane to be in and being able to find different locations by searching the provided apps

Cons: Accuracy

Very good !!

RV-760LMT W/ Back-Up Camera

SteveC from Tampa, FL on 12/27/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I caught this on a super sale at Crutchfield. Got it for $350. I am somewhat of a Garmin Bigot, so I expected it to be fantastic. I was right! I installed the camera on the back of my 31 foot trailer, and it worked perfectly from the cab of the truck. I had ordered the 50' cable anyway, so I went ahead and ran it to the front of the trailer to put the transmitter nearer the GPS, and out of the weather. The voice command works great. My truck doesn't have bluetooth for my phone, so that feature was an unexpected bonus. I can't say enough good about this product.

Pros: Typical Garmin ease of use and great features, especially for people who plan on using it with an RV. Compared to other alternatives with a wireless camera, the price is awesome.

Cons: Can't think of a single negative.

Out of the box it worked. I have not hooked up the back up camera yet, but I do not expect any problems. The unit is solid and very easy to read. The voice is very clear. I upgraded the maps with no problem, and so far I am real satisfied with the product and would highly recommend it.

Pros: Excellent piece of work by Garmin. Easy to use and understand.

Cons: No case

Typical Garmin

Jasel from Allentown,PA on 10/31/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm not sure why a 7" screen on what appears to be a larger version of an economy model would warrant the sales price. I am an owner of several Garmin GPSs, and I thought this would offer some nice improvements over earlier models. It does have an RV listing built in, but like gas stations, doesn't tell you if its on your route, just how far away it is. With smartphone apps flooding the scene, the last holdout for a desire to use a GPS are fading. I prefer Garmin over other brands for a seemingly better routing accuracy, but the all seem to differ and from the appearance of this one, I doubt it has adopted the advances of learning routes that modern versions have. Of course, with Garmin discontinuing models like they were seasonal clothing styles, there's no telling if the price reflects what technology is hidden inside. At least I haven't had this one long enough to determine. However, it does not appear to have a glass screen. So after just shelling out $130 for a repair to my 5" Garmin that suffered a short drop to the pavement, that might be a welcome advantage.

Pros: Large screen. RV database included. Lifetime maps.

Cons: Traffic reporting still pretty lame. Garmin still appears to judge your trip time as if there are no traffic lights or stop signs to slow you down Progress in GPS technology seems slow compared to what mobile touch screen devices have to offer.

A Great GPS Unit

Rick from Alamogordo, NM on 10/22/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I haven't used the unit for a trip yet but have gone through the familiarization videos on the Garmin website and have checked it out locally and am very pleased so far. I'm looking forward to using it on an 2200 mile round trip to Idaho starting this weekend. I believe it will surpass my expectations.

Pros: Overall capabilities, documentation, size and clarity of screen.

Cons: The menu mapping is not always as intuitive as it could be. It will take some time to learn.

RV 760 LMT thoughts

Sodflyer from Cleveland, MO. on 10/21/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the most part the RV760LMT is a very good unit. there are a few things I would change, and a couple of others that need change. The Unit is very accurate, however it does not show all available RV Parks in the area and when I tried to put in the address of the one I wanted to go to the auto complete feature would not let me put in the whole address. The only way I was able to put in the address was by Long and Lat once I had already arrived at the Park. The miles per hour feature was also very inaccurate above 60 mph. I don't know if that was my speedometer or the GPS readings.

Pros: Big screen display, I like all the added information available during the trip. The Backup camera was much better than I had heard from other reviews. The directions were clear and easy to follow.

Cons: I don't like the auto complete feature on the address inputs and the fact that not all RV Parks are listed. If there were a way to turn off the auto complete feature that would be my first change. I would also like some night vision on the Camera, especially for the price paid. Sometimes plans don't work out and you arrive at your destination after or near dark and the camera is no good then.

Easy installation, GPS works great. Used it on 2 trips about 1500 miles and it was very helpful

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have not used it on a extended trip where I did not know the route, but the system has proven to be very handy with displaying speed limits, food, issues with traffic etc.

Pros: Large screen provides a quick look, speed limits posted are an asset with the exception of work zones, directions easily programed

Cons: Some roads have no available information; Work zones speed limits are not posted correctly; does not always suggest the truck route correctly

Haven't been able to take a long enough trip to use . But on my short trip it was very nice . With all it's features it was very good. Found the finding of camp grounds hard to key in . Haven't been able to use the preloaded R V Parks yet. All and all I think it's a good unit.

Cons: sometimes tells you what lane to be in a little late if your pulling a camper it may take a little longer to move over 3 lanes

Mark E from Rocklin, CA on 4/10/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just used this unit in my motor home from El Mirage, AZ to Rocklin, CA via Las Vegas, NV. The unit worked okay with a few glitches. We came north in Arizona on US-60 to US-93 without any issues. We then went west on I-40 for about 15 miles to the continuation of US-93. After leaving Barstow, CA, heading north on US-93, the unit keep telling me to turn around and head south. Obviously this was incorrect. When I scrolled through the turns, I found that it was going to take me south for a few miles and turn me back around to the north direction on US-93. The speed limit when towing in CA is 55 MPH. On most roads the unit properly indicated this limit when non-towing vehicles were legally running at 65 or 70. The problem is that on some parts of CA-58 or CA-99 the unit showed the speed limit at 60 or 65, the maximum 2 axle limit at the location, not the 55 for more than 2 axles. My motor home has a backup camera so I did not purchase this unit with that option.

Pros: The unit is case specific for RV's.

Cons: The errors as stated above in my review and the cost of the unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We bought this to replace a Garmin purchased in 2007. I guess like all things electronic they are vastly improved over 7 years. This new GPS seems to be perfect. We have not used it in the RV yet, but I set it up in RV mode and took a 500 mile trip. It worked as described. The mount is not particularly stout, ok for car but probably not RV. I bought a Ram mount for it for the RV and then another powered dock for the car.

Pros: Maps are accurate, only one error noted over 600 miles of use, and it was minor. Advance warnings of speed zones and turns is very helpful, especially in an RV. In the Berkshire Mountains I was on a twisting state highway with lots of steep grades, sharp turns, and speed changes. The GPS called them about a half mile ahead of time. Display is bright and crisp and the auto adjust for night time works as described. The voice command feature is really fun, and saves all those screen entries.

Cons: This is more of an FYI than a Con, you really do need the manual to understand all the functions. To get the manual, you log and register on the Garmin site, then print the 24 page manual.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation was easy, but performance of back-up camera was poor. GPS system worked fine. I returned this product due to the poor quality of the monitor image when in back-up mode. Image was very grainy and undulating (wavy). I was disappointed with this low level of quality coming from a first rate company like "Garmin."

Pros: Easy to install. GPS system worked very well.

Cons: Back-up camera image was poor. Price is expensive for overall quality.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First there's the great Crutchfield service. The Garmin is easy too set up and use. While I haven't put it through all it can do I believe it will function as well as anything out there. The 7" screen is much easier to see in my RV than the 5 inch screen I was using.

Pros: Easy to set up and use. Much easier to see then the smaller screens.

Cons: Price is a little high.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The 760 LMT is a very good product, although voice recognition is still not that great. I would not recommend the BC-20 camera which can be purchased as a package or accessory to the GPS. Even with the transmitter right next to the radio, the video quality is very grainy and unclear.

Pros: Large display Lifetime map updates Customize to your RV

Cons: Voice recognition still needs some work Wireless rear view camera is not ready for prime time

Joe from Del Rio, TX on 1/10/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this for my pickup to have a back-up camera I could install myself. I'm very happy with both the navigator and the backup camera. The installation and wiring for the camera was quick and easy even though my mobility is limited. I just needed to purchase two quick connectors and some small cable ties. The navagation unit is first class, intuitive, and accurate. I do not use the RV functions. An unexpected plus is that backing up my hitch ball to my utility trailer is visable, making it an easier one man task.

Pros: Very large display but not obtrusive. Installed without modifications. No separate back-up display and navagator to clutter the cab.

Cons: The camera mounting bracket is somewhat brittle. It should be stamped steel. I could make a better mount with simple tools and materials if motivated. The video quality is functional but not excellent. I believe this is a function of the camera and not the display.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've only had the unit since Christmas of 2013. This really wasn't the unit I had wanted for my RV, but this was the one that was purchased for me for the holidays. I did some research on it to make sure that it was compatible with a backup camera, and was glad that it has that option. It was extremely easy to install using the windshield suction cup mount, and once turned on it very quickly connects to the GPS satellites to find where you are. I was also extremely happy to learn that it is bluetooth capable as my truck is a 2003 model without built in bluetooth, and that feature works very well. My son and I were testing how accurate the GPS unit was, and as we would pass a speed limit sign we counted to see how soon afterwards the Garmin would change the speed on the unit. Almost every time it would only take about 2-3 seconds to adjust to the new speed limit. It was also very easy and quick to enter my rv's information into the unit and I can't wait to hook up the camper and travel using this new Garmin. This is a great product!

Pros: Accurate GPS, Bluetooth works nicely, Backup camera capable, RV specific guidance

Cons: None

Excellent for it's designed purpose

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased this for use in new Motorhome. I love the large 7" display - very useful on a motorhome dashboard that sits far back from driver's seat. The user interface is somewhat different than what I am used to in a Garmin unit, but am getting used to it. It really is designed for an RV user. Touch screen response is quick, I have had this about two weeks and on two long trips, and seems to have taken me on the best routes. With a few changes it would be perfect. I highly recommend.

Pros: Large display. Quick response. Can be configured to the characteristics of a particular RV (length, width, etc.)

Cons: Presentation of saved POIs makes recall rather cumbersome.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We have had this GPS since AZ. and for about 2 mo.. It should be a requirement for all long RV's (24 feet on up). It works so far as promised. It might send you farther in RV mode, However, it makes sure you can navigate comfortably through Cities. I'm hauling a 38.6' Mobile Suite and have 0 problems. I had an RVS back-up camera installed in the RV. Have always had problems with the wireless types.

Pros: Everything that is promised

Cons: So far nothing

RV760 is Great, but BC20 Camera has problems

wymapper from Cheyenne, WY on 11/5/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Poor design of the BC20 rear camera system. I purchased the Garmin RV760LMT Navigation System with a Garmin BC20 wireless rear camera from Crutchfields. My problem is with the poor design of paired wireless BC20 camera. I'm installing it on a 33' 5th wheel. The camera location and wireless transmitter are within the approximately 45 ft feet specified. I couldn't get good reception, even when raised 2'. To get good reception I had to move the transmitter forward 25-30', to within 20' of the receiver. The problem is the poor design of the cable system. It was designed with a plug between the camera and the 12 volt power source wires. There is no plug or extension cable capability between the 6" power source wires and the 2' cable to the transmitter. The transmitter has to be within two feet of a power source. Most RV users use either the license tag light, the backup lights, or the clearance lights at the rear for wireless camera power. The transmitter needs much longer cables to be in a position to send a adequate signal to the RV760 receiver. I ordered Garmin's 50' cable extension. The supplied plug is not weather proof. I had planned to splice the extension into the wireless antenna cable. These four wires are about 24 gauge twisted, with shielding. One pair of wires has a very small white wire rapped with a stranded wire. I'm still trying to solder and shrink rap these cables, the other end I'll have to do on top of the RV.

Pros: The RV 760 is well designed and integrated GPS navigation system. It's much better than any of the four other Garmin systems I have purchased, including a NUVI 1370. I would buy the the RV760 again, but would purchase one of Crutchfield's wired camera systems. I'm using a ProClips mount with the RV760 large screen, which gives you a good heads up display just to the right of the steering wheel at the top of the dash.

Cons: Without the camera I would have given the RV760 a 4.5 to 5 stars. The BC20 wireless camera wiring is poorly designed and not flexible for any 25' to 42' RV, except for a small camper van or pickup camper. I defiantly would NOT recommend purchasing the BC20 wireless camera. The fix would be very easy for Garmin, just add a weather proof plug for an extension capability between the power wire & the transmitter. Garmin has not been responsive to my problems.

I have had 6 garmin units since gps units have become available, and this unit for me is just so, oh, so much nicer than any from the past. I have really appreciated each of the units that I owned, but this is a big step forward. I am not that easily amazed with most electronic advances, but this is one giant leap for mankind. it is not perfect by any means, just better than I expected. thanks garmin for leading the pack...

Roy W H, how did you access the alignment lines, mine doesn't have them. [ Ian  Jan 21, 2014 ]
I am not sure it will install on tailgate of bed too well. It has the remote component attached. It has to be powered to 12volt. It would work well on the back of your cab. I got shrink wrap to water proof the connections. I installed it on the back of my 40 ft 5th wheel RV. It works great. Nice color picture and clear. The Garmin interface is easy and convenient. [ CHRIS  Jan 20, 2014 ]
This is the best GPS unit I've ever owned. I did not rate the camera at the same level but it certainly is functional and allows me to back safely onto a street busy with pedestrians as well as vehicles. It is especially valuble to spot my neighbor across the street who backs without looking. It works just as well at night. The camera resolution is not as good as factory units I've experienced in rental cars. The visual angle displayed is good but does not emiminate the need to visually check behind to the right and left. The mounting bracket for the camera is the piece most in need of improvement as steel would be a better material. I mounted the camera sending unit in the cavity behind the tail lights and it works as well as the testing location I used on top of the tailgate. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. [ Joe  Jan 19, 2014 ]
Ted, I have not used the camera yet, I got it for my 5th wheel trailor and I am not going to use it until later this spring. Sorry I cannot help you at this time. [ Richard  Jan 19, 2014 ]
Ted, I bought the RV760LMT with the wireless B/U camera for my 2012 Sierra 2500HD. I installed the wireless transceiver behind the right rear tail light, and I mounted the camera in the bumper just to the right of the license plate. (Drilled a hole in the bumper and made a bracket to mount the camera so that just the lens protruded through the hole in the bumper. I used the bracket provided with the camera to allow me to adjust the camera in two directions). I wire the camera/transceiver power to the reverse light in the harness going to the 7-pin trailer connector to allow the camera to power on and the Garmin to switch over to display the camera when I am in reverse. It took a few adjustments to get it pointed in the right direction, but it works well, clear picture, and a wide angle. My only issue with the setup is that although I can see what is behind me, I can't see the ground in close proximity to the back of the truck, so it's a little tricky getting real close to another car when backing into a spot. I've only had it installed for a couple weeks so I'm sure I'll get used to it after a while. The Garmin itself is awesome, top of the line! I thought about getting one of those covers for my class IV hitch and mounting the camera in there originally, but I opted for the bumper instead. The factory GMC camera is in the tailgate handle, but I use a 5th wheel tailgate most of the year, so that wasn't an option either. Good luck, if you have any questions shoot me an email. - Ian [ Ian  Jan 19, 2014 ]
Ted, I installed this backup camera in my wife's 2005 Acura MDX in its liftgate. The camera operates efficiently but is not used as the sole means to navigate in reverse. It works well in low lighting (such as night time) and can display a significant perimeter of the rear backup zone on the large Garmin display. The rear camera is almost instantaneously displayed when the car is shifted in reverse due to it being connected to the backup lights. It took me about an hour to install the camera in the liftgate, but is extremely hidden except for a 1/4" diameter hole drilled by the license plate to feed through the camera wire to the remote receiver. The Garmin is focused towards being used in a RV, but this shouldn't be a deterant. Your favorites from your existing Garmin seamlessly load to this new one when you set and download your updates. I hope this helps. [ RICK  Jan 19, 2014 ]
So far I have not been able to get the RV 760 with the back up camera to perform the way I expected. I have found the 7 inch screen shows a washed out image with no way to change the contrast. I did finally discover that by tilting the screen backward toward the windshield it produces a better picture but I haven't been able to check how that will work in bright sun. I would expect the sun shining on it would not do too well. If it could be tilted forward so the screen is slanting down toward the dash instead of up toward the windshield we might have a winner. But so far not so good. The back up camera also is not producing a sharp image as I would expect from a Garmin. I had a smaller Garmin which gave good results but it got sick and died on me. I have a 7 inch Magellan which I am replacing with the RV 760 but it didn't have the speed limit and the font was too small along with the green screen it was too hard to read. The back up camera is sharp on the Magellan but doesn't have the lines for alignment and it is a wide angle view that doesn't give a close focus for me. I hoped the problem with the Garmin back up camera was something covering the lens such as a plastic protector until it is installed but that doesn't seem to be the case. Also, it seems to have a mirage like effect as the car moves - kinda like a wave action in the picture. It does have the alignment lines and you can adjust them which is good. I am using it on my Lincoln MKZ that didn't have a dash mounted system. I don't really need the RV stuff but Garmin doesn't seem to have an auto specific GPS with the back up camera compatibility. It makes it a bit "pricey" for an auto installation. Maybe someone in the Garmin system will get a chance to review this and tell me what I can do to improve the "high quality backup camera in one?" I haven't been able to get mine to work. It could be the connection to the back up light. So far not ready and too cold to try . [ G. Robert  Jan 19, 2014 ]
I had one of our Tech Support Advisors check with Garmin directly on this. Garmin says if you purchased the Europe maps on an SD card; they should transfer over to a new model (like this RV760LMT) without issue. If you purchased them as a download; they will only work on the original device they were purchased/downloaded for. I hope that helps. My Bio: [ Ryan  Jun 27, 2016 ]  Staff
Sorry I cannot help you with that question. I only use my Garmin as a GPS. [ JANE  Jul 03, 2015 ]
I'm not sure if this will work with any other cameras, but the device itself works great. I purchased a new motorhome last year and didn't entertain the idea until now. My motorhome came with a separate camera system backup and two sides also a Clarion gps but I still use the Garmin. I like the fact that you can input all you're vehicle data on the Garmin length, width, weight etc. This will route you around any obstacles for instance low overpass overweight on certain hwys. I have been happy with the purchase and the free map updates are a great feature not even sure if I can do this on the Clarion device. I have Garmin for my tow vehicle also for me they are the best others for RVs if you research have some issues. [ NORMAN S  Jul 03, 2015 ]
I love this garmin. From what I understand. You can load them off the Internet. I haven't done that yet. [ David  Aug 26, 2014 ]
I don't see any way to specify truck stops with the RV 760LMT. It has an icon for gas stations & you might be able to pick out the obvious truck stops. I know there is a way to customize POI's - haven't tried that yet. [ John  Aug 25, 2014 ]
The best way to find truck stops is as follows Touch "Where To" At the top right change to the city that you want to search near In the search box at the top left enter "Truck Stops" You will get a list of the truck stops in that area [ DAVID  Aug 25, 2014 ]
Nancy, the RV 760LMT actually does include truck stops but they are found under RV Services. I had to get it out and look as I had forgotten. It's a great unit. [ WILLIAM  Aug 25, 2014 ]
