Your time for fun in the outdoors

What's your idea of a fun time outside? Geocaching? Exploring new terrain? Peak bagging? Or hitting the trail for multi-day adventures? Whatever you like, you'll find a use for the Dakota 10 when you shoulder your pack and step outside. This rugged, compact GPS navigator offers touchscreen navigation powered by high-sensitivity GPS with HotFix® satellite prediction, and includes a worldwide basemap to get you started.

Navigate with ease

Dakota 10 boasts a 2.6" color touchscreen display that's easy to read in the sun — and it's built to withstand dust, dirt, water, and hard knocks that are part of the outdoor experience. The easy-to-use interface lets you get on with the task at hand, rather than punching buttons. You can load Garmin's detailed topographic, marine, and road maps to the internal memory when you need more detailed information on the area you're exploring.

If you're into geocaching, you'll appreciate Dakota 10's paperless geocaching. You can download up to 2,000 caches, with information on terrain, location, and more — no more paper printouts.

Adventure organization

Garmin's BaseCamp™ software — a free download — lets you organize your routes and maps before you begin your trip. You can even create Garmin Adventures to share with friends and family. BaseCamp lets you display topo map data in 2-D or 3-D on your computer, including elevation profiles. A BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription lets you transfer satellite images to this Dakota, too.

Connect and share

After your trip, make a simple USB connection to your computer and the Internet to get a detailed analysis of your activities with Garmin Connect™. You can check out the metrics from your trip and check out your route using  Google™ Earth. For inspiration, explore routes uploaded from millions of other Garmin users and share your experiences on your favorite social media sites.
