Features

Overview: Dynaliner is an ultra-lightweight, closed cell, high performance insulation. It provides acoustic absorption and thermal insulation for a variety of vehicle applications. The dark gray Dynaliner has a self-adhesive backing, with a high-temperature acrylic adhesive, for easy application. This durable, crush and tear-resistant material is not affected by oil and does not absorb water. Dynaliner meets both UL (Underwriters Laboratory) and FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) flame resistance.

Typical Uses: Dynaliner is used on top of Dynamat in the doors, on the floor (under the carpet), behind the headliner, on the interior firewall, or under the hood. The Dynaliner/Dynamat combo can be used in place of carpet pad. Benefits include noise reduction, improved air conditioner/heater efficiency, and improved imaging (reduced high-frequency reflections).

Installation: Using a razor knife or scissors you can cut Dynaliner to the desired size and shape. Dynaliner is self-adhesive, and should be mounted on a clean surface, free from dust, grease, debris, or moisture. For best results, work evenly from one side to the other, applying even pressure.

Temperature Range: -30° to +200°F (-34°C to 94°C)

Why did you buy this?

I needed some door insulation to improve the sound quality of my cars sound system and to reduce external noise. [ Jeffrey  Apr 14, 2017 ]
Recommendation from Crutchfield advisor and Dynamat Name brand. [ James F.  Mar 28, 2016 ]
Sliding Moon/Sun roof, this can go on the plastic panels the car has and really does a great job at stopping sound and rattles. [ Rob  Dec 13, 2015 ]
To eliminate door panel rattle. [ Alex  Mar 31, 2017 ]
Best sound deaden material on the market by far. [ CURTIS  Aug 02, 2016 ]
Dynamat worked well. Had a special application that needed sound dampening properties, self adhesion, but lightweight. This should work. [ WILLIAM T  Jan 13, 2016 ]

3 questions already asked

You can use both but you shouldn't have to. If the primary issue is vibrating surfaces (at specific frequencies; usually when the bass hits), go with the Dynamat. If you need to reduce exterior noise (road, wind, etc.) then go with the Dynaliner. Either product can work for either issue, but they are optimized for the applications I've described. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Apr 29, 2016 ]  Staff
that's a pretty cool father/ son bonding exercise! Anyways, they should have dynamat kits for trunks - i think it's called Extreme. You'll probably want to take out the side carpeting in his trunk and do that too. But likely it's like the dumb stuff like a license plate/ frame that rattles too. I typically put silicone bumpers on the back of those. [ ERIC T  Dec 28, 2013 ]
I would start with dynamat, you can always add dynaliner over it if your looking for extra quiet or have a ton of bass as for quanity bulk packs are generally a better buy, plus any extra can be used in doors, floor boards etc [ EUGENE  Dec 16, 2013 ]
If you are just worried about road noise this will work. The dynamat (silver lined) is used in applications where aftermarket bass is being used since it neutralizes rattling from panels. The amount you need is dependent on the size of the trunk. [ DEREK  Dec 16, 2013 ]
Dynamat First, then on top Dynaliner. Square Footage [ RICK  Dec 16, 2013 ]
