Our take on the Sony ES TC-WA7ESA
The TC-WA7ESA delivers ES performance at an incredibly affordable price. Its dual-motor design (for both A and B decks) ensures stable tape speed and minimal wow and flutter (.07%). Defeatable auto record level measures peak signals and adjusts recording levels for optimum sound quality (with external sources only). If you're looking for top-notch Sony ES performance on a budget, this is it!
- dual auto-reverse (deck B record/play; deck A play)
- dual 2-motor transports
- Dolby B, C, S, HX Pro
- track programming
- frequency response (±3dB) 30-19,000 Hertz - metal tape
- wow and flutter 0.07%
- signal-to-noise ratio 82 dB (Dolby S)
- controllable by Sony receiver remotes
- 17"W x 4-3/4"H x 12-3/4"D
- warranty: 5 years
High speed fast forward/rewind allows you to
rewind a C-60 cassette in about 45 seconds.
Multi-AMS (Automatic Music Search) on both decks allows you to skip up to 30 tracks.
RMS Play (deck A) allows you to program up to 28 tracks (14 per tape side).
Auto Bias and recording level calibration are available for deck B. The auto bias and recording level calibration function is available only when recording external sources; this function is not available when dubbing from deck A to deck B.
Auto Record Level automatically measures the peak signal level and adjust the recording level accordingly (may be defeated). The auto record level function is available only when recording external sources; this function is not available when dubbing from deck A to deck B. When dubbing from deck A to deck B, dubbing is performed with the same recording level as that of the tape in deck A.
A Fader control allows you to gradually increase or decrease recording level.
RMS dubbing allows you to record an RMS program you've created at normal speed.
Record muting allows you to insert a blank space between tracks.
