Overview: The Sony AC-VQH10 AC Adapter/Charger is compatible with both InfoLithium P and H Series batteries. The adaptor provides quick charging for your P and H series InfoLithium batteries. The adaptor also provides super quick recharging for your InfoLithium H Series batteries via ActiForce technology. The AC-VQH10 features sequential charging which automatically starts charging your second battery once the first battery is fully charged. The supplied DC cable enables the AC-VQH10 to function as an AC/DC adaptor. Plug the other end of the DC cable into your camcorder and toggle the switch on the top of the AC-VQH10 to stop charging the batteries in the bays and begin charging the battery within your camcorder.

Compatibility: The AC-VQH10 is compatible with both InfoLithium P and H series rechargeable battery packs. The batteries can be charged on the adapter or directly on your camcorder with the supplied DC cable. The following Sony digital camcorders allow this adapter to charge the InfoLithium P or H series battery right from the camera with the supplied DC cable.

Applications: You can use the AC-VQH10 as an AC adaptor or battery charger.

  • Using the Unit as an AC Adaptor: You can use this unit to supply power to your camcorder.
    • Set the mode change switch to VCR/Camera on the AC-VH10.
    • Connect the AC power cord to this unit and into the wall outlet.
    • Connect the connecting cord to the compatible Sony camcorder.

Note: If you change the mode switch to "Charge" the power supply to camera stops.  While using the adaptor in VCR/Camera mode you cannot charge the batter pack.

  • Using the Unit as a Charger: You can use this adapter to charge your batteries in the adapter itself or within the camcorder.
    • When Charging Battery In Adapter:
      • Set the mode change switch to Charge.
      • Connect the AC power cord to this unit and into the wall outlet.
      • Install the battery pack.
      • Remove the battery pack when charging is complete.
    • When Charging Battery Within Camcorder:
      • Set the mode change switch to Charge.
      • Connect the AC power cord to this unit and into the wall outlet.
      • Connect the DC cable from this unit to your camcorder
      • Remove the battery pack when charging is complete.

Dual Battery Installation: This unit allows you to install two battery packs at once. Although the unit has two battery slots, the unit will only charge one battery charges at a time. When two batteries are installed, the unit will fully charge the first battery installed, then it'll charge the second battery.

ActiForce: ActiForce technology allows for quicker recharge (about 25%) and faster and more accurate calculation of remaining battery capacity when charging an InfoLithium H series battery pack.

Charging Levels: There are two levels of charge completion when using this adapter.

  • Normal Charge: This is the unit's standard charging mode.
  • Full Charge: Allows you to use the battery slightly longer than the "normal charge".

10 Minute Charge: The 10 Minute Charge feature will give you approximately 40 to 65 minutes of recording time depending on the model of battery.

LCD Display: This unit has an LCD display. The contents of the display window change each time you press the "Display" change button.  You can view the battery life, time left to normal charge, and time left to full charge for Battery Slot 1 and 2.

Battery Life: You can check the charging time on the display during charging using the Battery Life indicator. When charging starts, the Battery Life indicator on the LCD display lights up. The battery life displayed is the approximate time remaining for taking photographs using the viewfinder of your camcorder.

Charging Times: The following tables show the charging time for a main battery pack that has been completely discharged.
