Sony CDX-M20

Sony CDX-M20 marine CD receiver
Don't settle for a regular car CD receiver in your boat — choose one that's built to stand up to the demands of the marine environment. Sony's CDX-M20 marine receiver uses a UV coating to protect the face from sun damage, along with a conformal-coated circuit board that resists moisture. It'll keep your boat rocking for years of fun on the water.

Plenty of entertainment options
You can play your store-bought and recordable CDs on this Sony, including discs you've loaded with MP3 or WMA files. For more variety, you can jack your iPod® or any other portable into the handy front-panel auxiliary input. Satellite radio's a big favorite with sailors, because of its great offshore reception. You can plug an optional satellite radio tuner into the CDX-M20 for an unparalleled variety of music, sports, talk, and news.

Sony XS-MP1621 marine speakers

Sony XS-MP1611 marine speakers

    Sony DXS-S310BTX/XS-MP1611Speakers

    Captez from Florida on 4/7/2015

System came installed in new Cobia. Sounded great and easy to use. 6 speakers! Receiver went out within 90 days and was replaced. Less than 2 years and now the receiver is not functioning correctly. Can't adjust on the head. Must use wired remote after inputting on the head to change the settings. Speakers are totally gone. Just pulled one and the white plastic cone is brittle and shattered. That is the same for all speakers, even the ones out of and sun. Looking for replacements, but don't want to re-wire. The replacement unit doesn't look much different and the speakers appear to be slight upgraded in peak power but the same materials. Not sure what I'm going to do as replacing 6 speakers every two years is not a good option.

Pros: Sound and ability to adjust 6 speakers.

    Cons: Durability

    quality marine unit

    Sony CXS-M2016 Marine Package

FrankC from Markham, On on 9/22/2012

Bought this system for my boat and must say sounds good, the speakers (6 1/2") give you some bass, but if you want a lot of bass, get a sub-woofer and an amp,( which can be added to this system). This system has great expandability. The package should have come with an antenna, i bought a cheap wire antenna and this worked fine . The receiver even came with a wire-less remote, for the money , this package gives you great value !

Pros: great value, expandability, good sound, wire-less remote

Cons: no antenna, odd speaker terminal size, no detachable face / remote storage cover

    Great Marine Deck

Anonymous from Anchorage, AK on 7/4/2012

This receiver was bought to replace an aging twin shaft US marine radio sill present in my 1992 Bayliner Capri. This receiver, along with the included speakers in the package, really woke the boat up. The speakers are great, and seem that they are built well enough to withstand high volume when cruising. If you're looking for a cheap receiver that will stand up and sound awesome, you can't go wrong with this combo.

Pros: Good power, sounds awesome. CD player works great without skipping.

Cons: Main volume knob hard to use when boating because bass settings will come up if the center button is pressed. This becomes annoying when trying to adjust the volume.

Hi Kevin, these look more like they are water resistant and not so much water proof. Although, as long as they are not going to be submerged in water, i believe that they will be fine. When i wash the boat, i will not be concerned with water getting into the important pieces as long as i just do not hit it with a pressure washer. [ TAMARA L  Feb 10, 2014 ]
