Sony a6300 Kit
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Item # 158E6300LS | MFR # ILCE-6300L/S
The Sony a6300 has a 3" monitor that tilts up or down to help you compose shots from different angles.
The Sony a6300 packs loads of imaging power in a compact, rugged frame. It's small and light enough to go with you anywhere. And thanks to its dust- and moisture-resistant design, you can use it in nearly any environment. A new 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor helps the a6300 produce low-noise images. With its extended ISO (sensitivity) range and exquisite rendering of fine details, the a6300 is capable of remarkable performance in all kinds of lighting conditions.
The a6300's highly responsive Fast Hybrid autofocus system with 425 phase detection points gives you clear action shots. It keeps moving subjects in sharp focus throughout the entire frame for pinpoint autofocus accuracy with still images and movies. Even if a selected AF point isn't positioned directly on your subject, the camera automatically uses AF points surrounding the selected point for precise focus.
The a6300 is capable of 4K and 120 fps Full HD video shooting with 4X/5X slow motion recording. In Super 35mm format, data is processed from every pixel for sharp, finely detailed footage. A multi interface shoe lets you connect professional microphone kits for balanced audio to match the video quality. Advanced features like S-Gamut and S-Log shooting let you adjust color, gradation, and dynamic range for richly detailed movies, even when shooting in low light. The camera's clean HDMI output sends uncompressed movie data to an external recorder or monitor. You can keep recording internally to the camera even when using this function.
You can instantly transfer photos and videos shot on the a6300 directly to your phone or tablet for easy uploading and sharing. NFC touch pairing is available for compatible Android™ devices, and new QR code compatibility lets you quickly pair devices without NFC. Sony's PlayMemories Camera Apps include free and paid apps that complement your photographic style and interests. There's the indispensable Smart Remote Control app that lets you use your mobile device to control shooting on the a6300, along with specialized apps for things like light painting, time-lapse, stop motion, and multiple exposure, plus plenty of editing effects to fine-tune your photos and add your own personal touches.
The included 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS retractable zoom lens has an equivalent focal length of 24-75mm on the a6300, making it useful in a variety of situations, from wide-angle landscape and architecture photography to detailed close-ups and portraits. Sony's Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps minimize the appearance of camera shake when working in low-light conditions and with higher zoom magnifications. The lens's slim design retracts down to 29.9mm, barely adding any bulk to the a6300's already low-profile body. The electronically driven zoom mechanism has silent, smooth operation so it's great for video. A dual-function control ring on the lens barrel handles zoom in autofocus mode, and manual control in manual focus mode.
First let me say Crutchfield is fantastic. First purchase from them and will again. For the product, this a6300 is not as good at still images as I would have liked (using SEL 55-210mm lens). I have a Nikon d3300 (selling soon) and Canon 80D and those two take sharp still images almost every time but for some reason I am having a hard time getting shots to come out as sharp without the slight blur with this Sony. I average more slightly blurred shots than clean but when I do get good shots, they come out looking real nice. It was going to be my first mirrorless camera but I might have to return it. As for video, it is great. The low light images and video recording this camera gives is amazing. Better than both my Nikon and Canon Plus you get 4K. But right now I am more focused on still than video so I'll wait for the a6500 (for the in-body stabilization) to drop down in price or wait for the a6500's replacement. The build quality is great on both body and lenses. I like the features Sony offers but I just can't get around the image quality im getting, not to mention the menu is not as user friendly and quick as the Canon. The live view screen has much better resolution on the Canon and Nikon than the Sony. With all said, I'm slightly disappointed because I like this camera. But if it can't get perfect shots when I need it then what's the point. Plus I'm not about to spend more money on a lens to see if that helps my issue.
Pros: Build quality. Weight. Compact. Low light video/stills. Silent mode. Fast burts. 4K video and better 1080p rates.
Cons: Can't get clean stills with all shots. Expensive lens options. Battery life. No touch screen or able to reverse the screen position. Screen resolution not as clear as its rivals.
I had an A5100 and it was stolen. Recently, I decided to upgrade to an A6300, this camera definitely packs a lot of punches. I am still learning many of those functions.
Pros: Light weight, compact, excellent picture quality, feature rich.
so far no problems .. still figuring out the options and features
Pros: wifi , lighter compared to DSLRs,
Cons: nothing as of now 7/9/17
Great camera with an amazing build quality! The pictures that this thing can take are amazing for it's price point, I'm excited to go out and use it right this moment!
Pros: Great camera overall for taking pictures of just about anything
Cons: Small amount of lens options, menu is somewhat confusing
I purchased this strictly for professional wedding video to be used with my 3 axis gimbal and so far I am very happy with it. 4k video quality is great. Low light performance exceeded my expectations.
Pros: Light, High quality footage, affordable
Great camera. It's my first mirrorless. Still trying to figure out a lot about the camera but so far most of my shots are great. I haven't been able to adjust the speed of the shots yet when taking kids sports shots but I'm sure it's in there.
Pros: light weight, lots of options
Bought this for a Peru trip and was extremely satisfied by the performance. LOVE the camera!!!!!
Pros: Light weight, great features, easy to use, great photos
