As I stated before, I have never really liked 3-way or 4-way speakers, because they just never reproduce the music properly and sound no better (sometimes worse) than the factory speakers! These speakers, however, sound perfect...they are the best multi-way speakers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to! Each speaker is perfectly crossed-over, reproducing every single note & detail of your music, allowing you to hear things you may have never known were in the music! There are way to many people out there who buy 6½" speakers & expect them to produce a ton of low-bass, but they just were not designed or built to reproduce low-bass...that's what Subwoofers are for! They do, however, reproduce very tight & clean mid-bass, which is what they are supposed to do. That strong mid-bass, along with the excellent mid-range & high-range, combine for one of the best speaker systems ever built! What used to take multiple speakers to do can now be done with a single speaker, simplifying installation, amplification, wiring & the entire system as a whole! In a small 2-door car or truck, just one pair of these, a subwoofer & a 4-channel amp with the two rear channels bridged on the sub is all that is needed for an excellent sounding system! In a larger 2 or 4-door vehicle, two pairs of these (front & rear), a 2-ohm subwoofer (or two 4-ohm subs) & a 5-channel amp is all that is needed for a perfectly designed/sounding system...not to mention being extremely easy to install!
Pros: I generally don't like 3 or 4-way speakers, but something about these made me buy them! Of course, they don't produce much low-bass, but they weren't made to produce low-bass anyway. They do, however, produce a very tight & clean mid-bass/mid-range...plus, very crisp & clean detailed high-range vocals & instruments! The Woofer, Mid-Range, Tweeter & Super-Tweeter are X'd-over perfectly, giving the most & best sound possible from a single speaker! Add a Sub & a bridged 4ch Amp for a great system!
Cons: Even though they perfectly reproduce every single note & detail of the music, there is one thing I wish were different...I wish the woofer surrounds were made of Butyl Rubber instead of Treated Cloth. Treated Cloth is good & allows the speaker cone full movement under full control, it just isn't as strong or durable as Butyl Rubber. Because of this, the speaker may wear out prematurely, especially if you listen to your system loud & often. Be careful installing them, the surrounds can be ripped.
