Our take on the Sony RM-L1AM

Sony's RM-L1A Remote Commander gives you greater control and improved stability while shooting with your Alpha digital SLR. It lets you remotely trigger your camera's shutter to avoid image-blurring vibrations caused by manually pressing the shutter release button. It's ideal for use in portrait, landscape and macro photography, or any application where your camera is mounted to a tripod. A shutter lock even allows you to keep your cam's shutter open to create artistic, long-exposure photos.

The wired remote commander weighs only 3.2 ounces.

Compatibility: The Sony RM-L1AM wired remote commander is designed to function with select Sony alpha-series DSLR digital cameras. The RM-L1AM wired remote commander features a 16.5' cord terminated by a proprietary connector which plugs into the Remote input on your Sony alpha-series DSLR digital camera.

Operation: The release button of the wired remote commander works like the shutter button your Sony alpha-series DSLR digital camera. Press the release button halfway down to control autofoucs and the photometry indication circuit. Press the button all the way down release to take the shot.
