Overview: The Sony RM-LVR1 Live-View Remote is a wrist-worn remote control and monitor for Sony Action Cams, including the HDR-AS100V, HDR-AS30V, and HDR-AS15 (software version 3.00 or later). With the Live-View remote, you can start and stop recordings while you monitor the live-view images on the remote's LCD screen. The RM-LVR1 also works with the Smartphone-attachable Lens-style Cameras (DSC-QX100 and QX10) and other Wi-Fi-enabled Sony NEX, Alpha, and Music Cams.

Wi-Fi: The RM-LVR1 can be used to operate select Sony cameras with Wi-Fi. The range is approximately 5 meters (16.4 feet), but varies due to environment.

Waterproof/Shockproof: The Live-View Remote can be worn while you participate in rugged action and water sports, such as surfing, riding, and snowboarding. It is shockproof and waterproof down to 3 meters for up to 30 minutes. It can operate in temperature extremes of +14°F to +104°F.

Note: The Wi-Fi feature does not work underwater.

LCD Screen: The 1.5" (diagonally-measured) LCD screen lets you monitor the live-view images from your Action Cam. It also has a built-in clock, so you can view the time and date while you're not shooting. It can also be used to view the menu for changing shooting modes, set the clock, and connecting or disconnecting the camera from Wi-Fi. You can rotate the display orientation 180° in case you want to wear the remote on your right arm. There are two brightness settings to choose from.

Controls/Indicator: The RM-LVR1 features a large, easy-to-operate Record/Enter button on the front of the remote, next to the LCD screen. This button allows you to start and stop recording, and make menu selections. Other lesser-used buttons are aligned on the top and bottom of the remote: On/Off, Menu, and Display. Below the Record/Enter button is an LED which glows blue when the unit is connected to Wi-Fi and changes to red to indicate the camera is recording.

Power Requirements: The built-in rechargeable battery can provide hours of usage. It can be charged via a computer using the included USB cable in approximately 245 minutes. With an optional AC-UD20 AC adapter (sold separately), the charging time is approximately 175 minutes. In the display, a 5-segment battery level indicator can be seen. A fully-charged battery can provide the following operating times:

Status of Unit Display Operating Time
REC Live-View Approx. 240 minutes
Wi-Fi On Clock display Approx. 280 minutes
Wi-Fi Off Clock display Approx. 340 minutes
