You won't take a back seat to anybody in style and sound with Sony's XS-V1330A speakers. These 5-1/4" 3-ways offer outstanding reproduction of all the lows, mids, and highs of your favorite tunes.

You'll find woofers made from Highly Oriented Polyolefine (H.O.P.), an incredibly light but strong material that guarantees solid bass output. Paper semi-dome midranges and PEI dome tweeters top off the tonal spectrum with warm mids and crisp highs.

The high efficiency and solid power rating of these speakers make them a great complement to an aftermarket receiver.

Where's the bass?

Reuel from Harrington, DE on 12/28/2005

I have subwoofers. I had to adjust them to drive all the bass because these speakers just didn't seem to have any of their own. The sound is crystal clear! My stock speakers were in really bad shape, but they had more bass than these speakers. If I had a good place to mount my 6x9s that aren't being used, I'd be completely happy.

1996 Jeep Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just installed two sets of these speakers in my 1996 Jeep Cherokee and i have to say they sound pretty good, very clear, but really lack in bass. If you have subs in your car these speakers will sound great with them, but if you dont have subs and you dont plan on getting any subs any time soon i would stear tords another type of speaker, but overall not bad.

Depends on the application

Benjamin from Lexington KY on 7/26/2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put a pair of these Sonys in the doors of my 97 Jeep Cherokee and a matching pair in the rear roof. The ones in the doors sound really clean and clear, but no real bass response whatsoever (even for 5 1/4" speakers). The roof speakers sound even thinner, but they are pointing straight down into the floor. I am powering them with a nice, powerful Kenwood deck. Overall they are a good value, but don't expect too much. Go for the Kickers and go for 6 1/2". The design of the vehicle and lack of amp has a lot do do with my review, too. Make sure you get an amp and a sub woofer for Jeep applications if you expect any real sound.

Features

H.O.P. Woofers: The woofers are made of Highly Oriented Polyolefine (H.O.P.), which is 30 times stronger than regular poly. Use of this material results in less distortion and better, quicker response. Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround.

Midranges: Each speaker features a 1-3/16" balanced-dome midrange. A balanced-dome driver is a combination of equal parts dome and cone. It is a cone driver in that it has a conventional surround with a centered voice coil, and it's also a dome driver in that a significant part of its surface area is convex in shape. Balanced dome drivers offer good off-axis response with a minimum of "beaming."

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 13/32" PEI film dome tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) film is a polymer film that has ideal sound characteristics, making it perfect for use as a tweeter. A PEI film dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
