A studio solution for any occasion

If you're looking for in-ear headphones with better sound and more security than the typical earbuds, check out the Shure SE215. They offer the rich, clear sound that's made Shure popular with professional musicians, live sound experts, and recording engineers. These small headphones are great for monitoring a studio or live performance, or simply enjoying music when you're on the go. Zip them up in the included case and throw them in your bag so you're always prepared to lay down a track or check out your bandmate's latest home demo.

A smart fit for proper noise isolation

The SE215's unique design is specially contoured to your ear for a snug fit. The dynamic micro-drivers are properly angled into your ear canal to ensure you hear all the details in whatever music you're listening to. When you select the right pair from the included foam and soft flex ear tips, you'll get up to 37dB of noise attenuation. That means less external noise will enter your ears, so you're better able to focus on what you're supposed to be hearing.

Detachable cable that stays out of the way

The durable Kevlar-reinforced cable is detachable at each earpiece. The snap-lock connectors ensure it won't get disconnected by a simple tug on the cord. The cables are designed to wrap around your ears with a shapeable wire to help keep them in place. This allows the SE215 headphones to stay properly in position and out of your face as you move about, either bouncing around in the studio or heading outside to catch a ride back home after a long session.

Excellent sound reproduction. That is one reason that they used as studio monitors so often. To be honest they are not the most comfortable for extended wear...but, sound very accurate. Works for me!

Excellent sound reproduction. That is one reason that they used as studio monitors so often. To be honest they are not the most comfortable for extended wear...but, sound very accurate. Works for me!

Pros: Accurate sound

Cons: Could be more comfortable

Great sound quality

Great quality sound. Kind of clunky to insert in one's ears but comfortable once there. Great value and quality for the price.

Pros: Great sound.

Cons: Stiff, clunky during insertion process

Using them on the motorcycle

Al from Dekalb, IL on 9/3/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm using these for listening to music while riding my motorcycle. They fit well under the motorcycle helmet have good sound isolation from road noise. Would give them five stars if they were Bluetooth.

Pros: Reasonably comfortable. Good Sound

Cons: Not available in Bluetooth but

Very nice (a five star) sounding (warm, clear and good separation) headphones for the price . Not as simple (a four star) for me to wear and get a good seal as other in the ear headphones.

Great headphones

Sounds good, the bass kind of overwhelm the rest of the sound, we use it as a monitor headphones which it does a good job with other than getting use to a new way to put it on it's a good buy.

Pros: Great fit inear Sound quality is best for this price range Priced accordingly Quality of materials

Cons: Putting it on Bass overwhelms

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've only used these for a day so far, but first impressions are promising. They're still breaking in, but what I notice most is the balance and clarity of some vocals, even compared to my more expensive sennheisers. The other thing I'd like to note is the fit. Having never used earphones that wrap over the top I was a little skeptical, but these fit great. I can see someone using these for running and having zero issues. Definitely worth picking up a pair if your looking for something that you can use while out and about.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These IEMs sound great. I'm currently using them everyday listening on my phone and PC, but will use the as IEM during live performances as well. They have a very natural sound, without sacrificing bass response. I haven't quite figured out the trick to getting them on quickly yet; I'd say it takes 15-30 seconds per ear. But, once they're in, they stay in and are very comfortable.

Pros: Sound great Comfortable

Cons: Can be a bid cumbersome to put in

Not quite what they're cracked up to be......

Anonymous from San Diego, CA on 11/11/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very comfortable (and I normally don't like in the ear phones), well-made, sound great through most of the sonic spectrum.....EXCEPT the low end! I would have given them five stars for sure, but I find the bass to be weak. This is coming from a long-time audiophile who is not a raving bass-head. Several reviews give these phones excellent marks.....but not me.

Summary: Great sound, very difficult to use.

Ron from San Mateo, CA on 8/23/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had great difficulty getting the ear buds to stay in my ears, as they kept falling out. The wrap-around-the-ear cord made it worse. The instructions that came with the product are woefully inadequate. I have gotten the buds to (kind of) stay in my ears only after visiting the online site indicated, reviewing instructions there, watching a video, and finally, having a chat with a tech. Unacceptable. Without the extra research, I couldn't remove the sleeves (concerned about damaging the housing) to experiment with others provided that worked better. The sound was great, once I got the right buds properly inserted (sound had no base and was tinny otherwise). I give the product high marks for build quality. I would give it low marks for design quality if that category were available. The latter is made worse by the collective lack of understandable instructions. Net: the product is overly sophisticated for even the serious consumer. Important note: I'm a retired, former self-employed IT Systems and Management Consultant ... not the dullest knife in the drawer.

Pros: Great sound quality ... once you can get the right ear buds properly inserted in your ear, and keep them there (monumental tasks for me).

Cons: Difficult to use, exacerbated by terrible written instructions.

Great product!

TSR from Troy, NC on 6/17/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cool factor is not a big deal for me. I am quality over cool factor. Shure 215 reduce outside noise. They deliver a quality sound. There build quality is much better. I have own several noise reduction ear buds. These are the best for the price. This is my 3rd pair of Shure. The minor design upgrades are great. Better cable with a moving ear piece.

Pros: Better build quality. Sound is always great. Fit!!

Cons: Cord a little long. Cable takes sometime to mold around ears because cable is a better quality and thicker cable. (That might be a pro)

Good sound, excellent design

Frank from Boston, MA on 6/5/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Huge variety of ear pads included, so fit won't be a problem, and the ends of the wires nearest the earbuds hold their shape so the things won't easily pull out of your ears. The wires themselves are replaceable, which since those are the most likely things to get destroyed with use is a Very Good Thing. And the sound and isolation are both quite good for $100 earphones.

Pros: Design, sound

Cons: Not a fashion statement.

A good product for a good price

DLG from Alabama on 12/30/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were purchased based on listing in Absolute Sound Editors Choice, discounted price, and Shure brand reputation. After break-in period I expect them to open up a bit in the extremes of range. The midrange is smooth and tight. The extra ear pieces are a bonus and insure a proper fit. These are replacing Etymotic Research earphones; I expect years of good service from them and am very pleased so far. A good product, a fair price.

Pros: Overall value Brand reputation Very good midrange Extra earpieces Nice case

Cons: Extreme ranges require break-in time

Shure SE215 IEM's

DEW from Illinois on 12/27/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The SE215's have a solid low end and good midrange. Geddy Lee's bass and Neil Peart's drum kit sounded great on the R40 CD. The Who's Live in Hyde Park release had Roger Daltry's vocals and Pete Townshend's guitar come through nice and clear. The upper midrange and treble are rolled off somewhat and cymbals do not shine as much as on other models such as the SE425. The SE215's do have the air or as large of a sound stage as the SE425's either. This was evident on Joe Bonamassa's Live at Radio City CD. The S215's are great for rock music. They have enough detail to bring most elements of the song out. Replaceable cables are not usually an option at this price point. For the cost they are an exceptional value with outstanding build quality that I enjoy quite a lot.

Pros: Solid bass Good midrange Excellent build quality

Cons: Rolled off treble Lack of air (sound stage)

Great sound ! I use them under a motorcycle helmet and the sound is clear and precise.

Pros: Good fit, great sound, sturdy construction, easy to clean

Cons: a little bulky for under helemet use.

Great but best for the hubby!

Kaiulani from Minnesota on 11/2/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Here's the deal with these headphones, and also why I give them a 5 star rating regardless of what I'm about to say. I have very small ear canals and thus I need an earbud that can be inserted like earplugs (which I wear nightly due to a snore monster that sleeps next to me, ha!). When I saw these online and read about them they sounded great but in reality, still way to big to fit into my ears. I was disappointed at first and was going to send them back but let my husband try them out and he thought they were amazing. Like a previous reviewer said, "Tricky" they are, you have to finagle with them a bit to get them situated in the ear just right but after that the quality of sound is fantastic. I am so picky when it comes to listening to music. I can't even do it on my flat screen tv because the quality is so crappy. Good earbuds are essential (not big headphones that you can't fall asleep wearing if needed). Okay with that said I did go back online (Crutchfield only) and ordered some other earbuds from Klipsch that I am very happy with so in the end it all worked out!!

Pros: Great sound

Cons: Awkward to wear

Shure SE215 Earphones

Ken F from California on 9/13/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well built , sound is very good but the wire that's supposed to go behind ear and over top is so stiff i couldn't keep bud/earpiece in place and music sounded distant as a result. Sent back and ordered HiFiman 600's...waiting for those to be delivered

Pros: Good quality materials

Cons: Wire at ear is WAY to stiff

Awesome, but tricky

Dave W. from Pennsylvania on 9/9/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These earbuds are awesome for use under a motorcycle helmet. They isolate most of the road/wind noise out but not all of it (which is a good thing). My music sounds absolutely amazing, even rolling down the interstate at 65mph. Sound quality is also incredible. These are definitely very well built and will no doubt hold up to the demands of my application.

Pros: Sound quality, durability.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that they're so darn tricky getting them positioned into your ear. I'm sure I'll get accustomed to them and it'll become second nature but it really is taxing some days getting them in the correct ear and positioned correctly. I'm sure it's fun to watch and it often accompanies cursing but once they're in.....ahh, pure magic.

A nice entry point for people looking for nicer earbuds

TT from Virginia on 7/7/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These ear-buds sound fantastic. They might not be as base heavy as some people like, but the sound is crisp, clear and detailed. I'm still adjusting to the fit, and honestly haven't decided if its for me yet, but they are nice ear-buds

Pros: Sound, detachable cable, many different tips to customize fit with

Cons: Fit isn't for everyone with cable going back over ear.

Worth the Money

Josh from Denver on 2/10/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Glad I purchased these! Was debating on the 115 but am glad I stepped up to the 215. Sound quality is great. 10x better than the iPhone bud and way better than the $50 Sony that broke. I fly every week for work and these really block out the noise from the plane. Getting them in your ear takes a little getting used to but once you get it, it's a sinch.

Pros: Light, very packable, great sound quality

Cons: In ear can be a little uncomfortable (better than carrying big over the ears though!)

Shure SE215's

Jeff from Lynchburg, VA on 1/20/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these to use for monitors while playing the drums. So far they've been great at isolating the sound of my drums and the room so I can focus on the track or music I'm playing to. I had previously been using some mid grade over the ear studio headphones, but this was definitely the right option for me as a drummer. With Phones, I could never really hear the target audio without blasting the sound and hurting my ears. With the Shures I can listen at a low volume because so much of the room and drum noise is isolated. The only thing I've found is that your ears need a break every now and again, they actually like ambient noises. So, lay down your track, play your song, and pull these out every half hour or so. Great product so far.

Pros: Lightweight, comfortable, decent sound & bass response, sturdy cord.

Cons: Didn't think to buy then sooner

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Quality was as advertised.

Pros: Craftsmanship is excellent particularly like the quality of the wiring and their use of kevlar to protect the wires. The sound quality is outstanding and the ability to block out ambient sounds is remarkable!

Cons: None

shure SE215 headphones

Dave T from Virginia on 12/19/2014

I was reluctant to pay about $100 for in-ear headphones, but came highly touted by sales rep. I am interested in great high-fidelity sound quality but also nose cancelling. Although these so not have active noise cancelling they do the job as well as my $300 over ear headphones thanks to the way the ear piece fits into ear and is held in place. Also much easier to carry/pack compared to the large over-ear style. These comes with a nice zip case and the heavy duty cable seems like it will hold up for a long time.

Pros: Sound quality and noise blocking. No batteries required.

Shure SE215

mike from Austin, Texas on 10/20/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Really excellent IEMs, i honestly orefer them to my Beyer dynamic 770 pro. Lucky for me the seals are very good, they never fall out and almost no microphonics even during very physical activities, zero if just listening regularly.

Pros: Forward mids, fairly flat, nice treble a little recessed but excellent clarity and imaging. Bass is controlled and punchy starts to roll off pretty hard around 30hz.

Cons: The bass is there for sure just doesnt get super low, however, using an equalizer you can really bring out some scary low bass, that said you can also bring out some of that missing treble i mentioned as well.

Nice Sound

Retaler from New York on 10/12/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sound is great, getting them on is a real pain. They do a decent job of blocking airplane engine noise and once their on they are pretty comfortable

Pros: Sound

Cons: Getting them on.

Great Ear Buds

Mr. Fixit from Maryland on 9/22/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are my 5th set of ear buds. They are the 5th different brand. They are the best by far and costing far less than a fortune.

Pros: Great noise abatement even when operating gas powered outdoor tools. Great stereo sound. Heavy duty wiring not likely to break, like others in the past. 90 degree plug in keeps wire parallel to Ipod surface. Ordering from Crutchfield as usual was great.

Cons: I have small ears and stubby fingers so placing the ear buds in my ear canals took some getting used to in front of a mirror. After 6-8 times I was able to it without a mirror. Comfortable enough now to reinstall.

Cant beat it

Mr. S from NY on 8/31/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love this headphones! Such a bargain for its price! and of course the Crutchfield team ships it out so fast!

Pros: sound, design, bass,

Cons: cord is very long.

Overview: The Shure SE215 Sound Isolating Earphones deliver crystal clear, spacious sound with rich bass. These in-ear headphones are equipped with a single dynamic MicroDriver, and a removable 63" Kevlar-reinforced cable with an adjustable cinch and a right-angled 3.5mm plug. The SE215s can be used for personal listening and in-ear monitoring.

Detachable Cable: The earphones have a detachable cable that allows you to easily replace it, should it become damaged. The cable attaches to the ear buds via a gold-plated MMCX connector, which snaps into place and allows 360° rotation for best fit. The cable is Kevlar-reinforced for strength and durability, and has a 3" formable wire at each ear bud for an over-the-ear configuration to keep the cables secure and out of the way.

Fit Kit: The SE215s come with a Fit Kit that includes three sizes of silicone flex sleeves and three sizes of black foam sleeves. The sleeves provide a secure, comfortable fit, and a good seal to enhance the bass and to block up to 37dB of ambient noise. The SE215s are compatible with custom-molded sleeves from Sensaphonics for professional on-stage monitoring.

Cleaning Tool: In-ear headphones require cleaning from time to time to maintain sound quality. When the earphone nozzle becomes blocked, the sound quality deteriorates. The obstruction can be removed with the included wire loop cleaning tool. The length of the wire loop is customized to allow the tool to reach into the nozzle without damaging the sound filter inside.

Carrying Case: The SE215s come with a black cloth storage case with a zippered closure.
