Bose® FreeSpace® 3
Flush-mount satellite speakers (Black)
Our take on the Bose® FreeSpace® 3 by Crutchfield's Eric Angevine
Modular in-ceiling speakers for a subwoofer/satellite system
Bose FreeSpace 3 flush-mount satellite speakers are designed to work with a matching Bose Acoustimass module in a commercial 70-volt sound system. Each speaker contains a 2-1/2" full-range driver, and offers 170 degrees of conical dispersion so customers seated below can hear music and announcements clearly.
Part of a customizable, versatile FreeSpace 3 system
This Bose system's modular design lets you create the subwoofer/satellite system that suits your space best. An Acoustimass module is the heart of each system, providing transformer taps and connections for your satellite speakers. You choose the system that suits your unique space.
A bass module can connect to two or four speakers, and you can mix and match. Try the surface-mount bass module with flush-mount satellites, or a flush-mount bass module with compact surface-mount satellites. Or keep like with like. However you put it together, a full system offers impressive performance, with frequency response from 50-16,000 Hz, and up to 800 watts peak power.
Not sure which will work best for you? Don't fret. Our commercial audio advisors can help you make the right choice.

Overview: The Bose FreeSpace 3 flush-mount satellites are high-performance, extended range loudspeakers designed for small to medium-sized indoor applications requiring high fidelity and extended bandwidth reproduction of voice and music. They feature a compact enclosure with a 2.5" full-range driver. Ideal for retail stores, bars, lobbies, and conference rooms, the FreeSpace 3 speakers can be used stand-alone or in conjunction with a Bose Acoustimass bass module. The FreeSpace 3 satellites are 70/100 volt compatible, when used in conjunction with an Acoustimass bass module, but don't include a built-in transformer. Bose refers to this setup as a "system". In a system, the speakers can handle up to 200 watts RMS in 70/100 volt mode and 100 watts RMS in 8Ω bypass mode. As satellites, or stand-alone, they're able to handle 12 watts RMS.
Connections: The rear of the FreeSpace 3s has four set-screw terminals for speaker wire connections that can accommodate wire from 18 AWG to 14 AWG. Two of the terminals are inputs and the other two are a pass-thru connection to daisy-chain speakers. Screw-down protective cover plates are provided to protect the wiring and include a ring for an optional safety cable attachment.
Mounting: The Bose flush-mount speakers have three integrated quick-install mounting arms that swing outward when tightened, supporting the speaker against the back of the mounting surface.
