I was born in the early 70's. Experienced the disco era, cartoon Saturday's, eight track and LP's, breakdancing, boom boxes, cassette tapes, cd's, dvd's and the digital era. I was always captivated by technology. I'm a backyard experienced audio enthusiast. I've had a lot of experience with sound installations and with different products. I can recognize good quality music and appreciate a clean system. As I got older my sound system has been simplified. This 8"dvc 8 ohm bazooka is GOOD....of course it has a little port noise with some music, but for the price and size, this is a very good value for bass fulfillment. Granted it won't shake homes or your neighbors home but man, it sounds great. It's installed in a 06 Nissan Frontier crew cab. Pioneer DVD player, alpine 6x9 in front, alpine 6 3/4 coax in back, powered by an alpine 5 channel amp. I went 8 ohm on the dvc so the amp can run at a stable 4 ohm when I run the dvc in a parallel configuration. Set up is clean, sound is clean, mids and highs are well represented and that 8" represents!! Space for storage and passengers are not compromised! Plus it looks so kool as you open the rear driver door awesome grill greets you. The sound is wonderful. Miami bass booms to country to dub step and Hawaiian. All kinds of music are well reproduced. I would definitely recommend bazooka bass tubes, they've made a believer out of me. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.
Pros: Compact and very nice design. Value for the buck. Fairly light weight and sounds really good. It's a head turner.
Cons: Not much bad things to say, however, I've had bazookas back in the 80's. Design hasn't changed much besides cosmetics. But, there is port noise in some ranges and at certain volumes of course. However, it does not demean that this sub woofer is a contender for sure.
