Our take on the Bazooka RBCM-250D

The RBCM-250D remote control module allows you to control the volume of select Bazooka BTA Series powered Bass Tubes from your dash, glove box, or other convenient location. The remote module controls the amp's gain setting and crossover point, and includes a 16.5-foot cable. Warranty: 1 year.

Works as advertised. It's nice to be able to set the subwoofer level in your head unit to maximum and then just adjust the gain and crossover with the remote on the fly. Saves time and distraction fiddling with your head unit's settings and menus. It's also fairly inexpensive.

Jamie, Derry, NH

What's in the Box:

  • Remote control (gain and crossover) module
  • 16.25 cable terminated with 6-pin connectors on each end (looks like a standard telephone cord but does not have the same number of pins)
  • Mounting bracket
  • 2 Self-tapping screws

Pros: Fast, remote control of the tube's gain and crossover frequency.

Cons: Didn't come with directions (maybe they were supposed to?) and the birections for the tube mention the remote but do not give details. I ASSUME that you are supposed to set the controls on the tube itself to max and let the remote cut as needed but for all I know the remote bypasses the tube's control pots altogether. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to know.

Excellent and Vital with your Bazooka Sub

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm so glad I bought this with my 250W powered bazooka sub. It comes in so handy next to my head unit. The included remote wire is very long and should be plenty for any vehicle (unless you drive a limo). The install is a breeze if you run the wire when you install your amp wiring. It plugs in like a phone jack to the subwoofer, and to the remote. Even though I have bass controls and subwoofer controls on my alpine head unit; I like the convenience of having this complement my head unit. It's much easier to adjust the bass by turning the knobs then looking through a receiver sub-menu. It's a no brainer...if you're buying a bazooka sub, buy this.

Why did you buy this?

So I can tailor my bazooka to my music. [ Marlon  Nov 20, 2017 ]
I have a bazooka speaker [ Miguel  Sep 18, 2017 ]
Because I want to be able to control the bass and crossover levels. I listen to a variety of music so I need to have this control. [ Derrick  Jun 19, 2017 ]
To remote my powered bazooka [ Fred  May 03, 2016 ]
Felt like having control over the sub once I install it in my car. [ Michael  Apr 02, 2016 ]
I picked this Bazooka RBCM-250D because it's not very big so I will still have plenty of storage space in the car and it has plenty of power for the sub. Plus I can always connect/add another passive Bazooka to it later. I've used Bazooka's in the past and have been very impressed. Can't wait to hear how this one is..... [ JASON  Dec 15, 2015 ]

I Didn't. And rarely do they need adjustment unless your sources vary greatly in dynamic range. My install is in a runabout and I get compliments often in party cove. [ Michael  Jun 07, 2016 ]
I doubt it will work because the Kenwood remote actually lists using a RJ-11 connection (phone cord) while the connection on this cable is listed as looking the same but it does not have the same number of pins. [ Paul  Nov 16, 2015 ]  Staff
Not sure but it looks like it has the same basic functions [ ROBERT J  Nov 16, 2015 ]
My Bazooka tube had a set 80hz Xover inside no adjustment available. You would just be adjusting the gain with the remote. I usually set my gain at the Bazooka Tube and use the remote for fine tuning. [ GEORGE  Mar 10, 2014 ]
Once you have plugged in the remote, it allows you to change the settings when ever you like. With the remote, you don't have to mess with the setting on the bass tube. I bought mine in July and it is one of the best subs on the market! [ SHAWN  Mar 04, 2014 ]
