A perfect match
It can be tough matching subs, amps, and enclosures together. Kicker's taken the guesswork out of the process by matching a 90-watt RMS amplifier with an 8" subwoofer, and housing them together in a rugged, compact box. This way, you won't have to waste time juggling specs — just focus on enjoying your bass.

Out in a jiffy
A quick-connect power harness and removable straps make it easy to pull this sub out of your vehicle, so you can get some storage space back in a pinch. The enclosure is only 6-3/8" deep so it'll fit in a variety of spaces, while the carpet covering will protect the enclosure and your vehicle against scratches and dents.

Fantastic little subwoofef

Anonymous from Winnipeg, Manitoba on 3/6/2014

This thing is awesome have it in my 2 door hatchback CRZ. I have all the speakers upgraded JL audios C2 etc etc . Amped up and this sub can keep up with the output and does not distort unless I really crank the gain. All in all impressed. It does not however get those really really low notes that are held for extended periods of time. Regardless still an awesome product.

Pros: Small Loud Well rounded sound

Cons: No real low notes

rocking out

I love it. I put it in my 2002 jeep grand Cherokee.

Pros: Nice size

Cons: It was a little hard to install, but it was my first time, so it could have been worse.

Great Speaker to add base to Jeep

Rich from LA on 8/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for compact Subwoofer to add bass to my vehicle, and this did the trick. The install was easy, but I have been doing this for a long time. This Speaker Amp combo works great to give your vehicle fill bass and complete the music experience for you. What is speaker will not do is shake your vehciel or wake up your neighbors. Since is real compact you dont loose a lot of truck space for it. if you are looking for and Sub to fill the missing bass in you car and want compact size this is the way to go.

Pros: Compact

Cons: Wiring Harness. Wires could be longer (inout lines, Ground, remote) Power line was long enough

Vary Impressed!!!

Best Option for Jeep Wrangler Trunk

Josh from Vail, AZ on 6/17/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you are looking for a powered subwoofer for a Jeep Wrangler trunk (small), this is the one you want. The unit is compact, fits perfectly (leaving a small amount of area for storage in the trunk), and adds a lot of bass without becoming obnoxious.

Pros: Good bass Compact Fits Jeep Wrangler trunk perfectly

Cons: None

This sub is perfect for an extra cab Ranger, removed the jump-seat and built a bracket to solid mount the Kicker. Plenty of base, and barely have it turned up, the remote is also nice, depending on the music.

Pros: Perfect size for my application (2005 extra cag Ranger) great sound quality paired with factory radio with upgraded speakers

Cons: None

2012 Chevy Silverado Crewcab

SteveP from Sanford, NC on 9/25/2012

I have the factory stereo (not Bose) in my truck and have been pretty pleased with the sound quality. BUT, it really lacks bottom end when when I increase volume. I wanted to add bass without spending a ton of money or using a bunch of the cargo space that I bought the truck for in the first place. The common sense solution seemed to be a powered sub. However, I had my doubts about sound quality. While working in VA, I decided to drive the 90 miles over to Charlottesville and check out the retail store. Jason S. was extremely patient and helpful in making a decision. Of course, this is no surprise to any regular Crutchfield customer. The Kicked 11PT8 turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Fits perfectly under my rear seat and I can either stand it up or simply unplug and remove it if I need the cargo space. Its a great compliment to my factory unit and really easy to install. If you're smart about routing the wiring, you'll have plenty (I had more than I needed on all wires). It sounds great and can be adjusted with the wired remote. If you're into hiphop and want to rattle the change in other peoples cars, this is NOT what you want. But if you want to fill your own space with great sound, you wont regret buying this sub.

Pros: Great price, simple to install and great sound. Add in Crutchfield's customer service and its a no brainer.

Cons: Haven't found one yet.

Great Product!

Fits perfect in my '02 Nissan crew cab. Would recommend to others!

Pros: Sounds great, easy to install.

Cons: Wiring for power and sub not long enough for most cars.

great value/sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unit was pretty simple to install. Only gripe is that it should have come with master sheet since it has speaker level input option and I had to extend several leads on the factory harness. Has about the right amount of bass you would expect. This unit fits flat under the back seat of my '10 Tundra double cab. This sub has a hi/low input option so you can connect it speaker level on a factory radio or line level on an after market unit with preamp outputs. You do not need a line level converter.

Pros: Price, sound quality, compact size

Cons: Length of some leads on harness

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a jeep wrangler, and with the top down and large tires, the road noise is LOUD! The little 4" speakers were bottoming out because i had to turn them up too much. With limited space and not wanting to have too much money invested (its easy to break into a jeep) This speaker/amp is awesome. I took the bass out of the small speakers and use them for highs and mids only. All the bass comes out from this speaker and it sounds great!! Even at 70 mph them system sounds great! Note: dont forget to buy the RCA converter!

Pros: Size, power, sound, price, everything

Cons: ZERO!

Perfect amount of thump

Sookie from Plano Texas on 11/19/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 04 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with limited space to add a sub. The Kicker fits perfectly behind the rear seat and adds just the right amount of bass and thump to round off my stereo.

Pros: Size,Sound and Price.

Product Research

Amplifier: The power output from the built-in class-D amplifier is 90 watts RMS @ 14.4 volts with no more than 1% THD (100 watts RMS @ 14.4 volts and 10% THD).

Signal Input: The signal input wires on the included harness can be used with a speaker level or line level signal. Standard speaker wire is used in the harness, so an RCA to speaker wire adapter is needed when using a line level signal (item number 20609ZISL, sold separately).

Low Pass Crossover: The amplifier's low pass crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 120 Hz; the crossover slope is 12 dB per octave.

Subsonic Filter: In addition to the low pass crossover, the PT8 features a 24 dB/octave subsonic filter fixed at 25 Hz. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound, but unnecessary oscillations that cause distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can damage the speaker. The built-in subsonic filter removes the frequencies below 25 Hz to improve the sound quality by eliminating harmful distortion.

Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit provides a variable (0-6 dB) signal boost centered at 40 Hz.

Status Indicator Light: There is a status indicator LED on the control panel on the left side of the enclosure; it lights green to indicate that the amplifier is turned on and operating normally and lights Red to indicate the amplifier's protection circuitry has been activated.

Remote Bass Level Control: The included remote bass level control lets you adjust the output level of the amplifier from anywhere in the vehicle. A 20' cable is included and when it's plugged in, the gain control on the side of the enclosure is bypassed. The remote bass level control can be mounted under the dash with the included mounting hardware, it has the following dimensions:

  • Width: 2.215"
  • Height: 1.193"
  • Depth: 1.718" (3.076" including the knob and cable)

Controls: All the PT8's controls and connections are located on the left side:

  • Auto Turn-On: two position switch; choose +12V (amp turns on when +12 volts is applied to the remote turn-on wire) or DC Offset (amp turns on when a 6 volt surge is detected from a speaker-level source on the signal inputs; in this mode the amp's remote turn-on wire acts as a +12 volt output to turn on another component)
  • Input Level: two position switch; choose Hi when using a speaker level input, Lo when using a line level input
  • Phase: two position switch, the sub's phase can be easily inverted; 0° or 180°
  • Gain: rotary knob; continuously variable from 125mV to 5V when the Input Level switch is set to Lo, 250mV-10V when the Input Level switch is set to Hi
  • X-Over Frequency: rotary knob; set the low pass x-over point; continuously variable from 50 Hz to 120 Hz
  • Bass Boost: rotary knob; continuously variable from 0 to +6 dB

  • Remote Bass: 3.5mm mini-jack for use with the included remote bass level control
  • Fuse: a single 7.5 amp ATO style fuse protects the amplifier
  • Wiring Input: Molex plug for use with the included power/ground/remote turn-on/signal input harness; the wire length varies by function:
    • Ground: 18"
    • Signal Input: 16'
    • Power: 19'
    • Remote Turn-on: 20'
