Power for bass

Kicker's DXA1000.1 amplifier will reliably produce great-sounding bass — the kind that grabs your attention and makes listening to music in your car more fun. The DXA1000.1 puts out up to 1,000 watts RMS from a very compact chassis that'll fit into most vehicles.

Works with a factory stereo

Kicker's Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT™) allows you to tap into your vehicle's factory speaker wiring for the amp's input signals without needing a converter. The "differential-balanced" inputs also help prevent audio interference and noise from entering the system.

Controls to help get the job done

The DXA1000.1's low-pass filter adjusts the range of bass going to your subs so they can play more cleanly and efficiently, while a bass boost can add some extra foundation to the sound if you want. You can add an optional remote control to adjust your subwoofer's volume from the front seat.

Wow! Lots of power in a comparatively small amp. Paired with two 10" Kicker CompRT's on 2 ohm load. That's 500 per sub! More than enough power and I've barely dialed it in! Lotta bump at a superb price.

With Only power/remote and ground hooked up, the amp goes straight to protect mode. Exchanging for another one, hope to have better luck.

Pros: Good price, small size, easy to hook up. Fit in my jeep so it'll go in any vehicle.

Cons: Needs a better wiring diagram since it is a mono amp with two terminals.

great amp!

Robert from Groveton NH on 5/27/2015

i bought this amp it works great! I'm running 2 12's Alpine type S series 500 RMS DVC. Also running a sick Kenwood head unit that I got off of my dad.

Melted my speaker wire so much power comes out of the amp the wire couldn't handle it up graded to 4 gauge to handle all the power kicker makes very good amps

No Issues

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Quality amp that fit perfectly under the driver seat of my 2013 Ram. Powering two 10" Kicker comp R subs with plenty of power to spare. Currently have the amp turned up only about 1/3 of the way and my subs are pounding. Simple, intuitive controls on the side of the amp and heavy duty ports for power and signal hookups. No issues to be named.

Pros: Size, Quality, Output

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would say this is probably want of the best amps ive seen on the market in awhile. I purchased to run two 10" kicker comp R's. while it doesn't max out the two subs it comes close and has a much cleaner signal to noise ratio then the amp that was similar in price and performance. When I purchased theses subs I was looking for cleaner tighter bass then my old set up. This amp is pretty small, lightweight, clean in style and sound, and runs incredibly cool. Running this with the two comp R's is a great set up. Glad I choose this amp. Its still much louder then 95% of people around me, and the bass is very very clean and crisp. For any style of music, rock, metal, rap, country, everything, I would definitely consider this amp again in future builds.

Pros: Small, powerful, clean sound, clean looks, easy to tune, cool running.

Cons: pricey, but in the car audio world you definitely get what you pay for.

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured over the full frequency range of the amp with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels at a reference of 1 watt. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on equal footing. Measured under CEA-2006 conditions the Kicker DXA1000.1 is rated at 500 watts RMS x 1 channel into a 4-ohm load and the signal to noise ratio is >95 dB. Additional specs listed in the manual (but not listed as CEA-2006 compliant) include 1000 watts RMS x 1 channel into a 2-ohm load (measured using a 14.4 volt power supply with no more than 1% THD+N) and 95 dB signal-to-noise ratio (measured at the rated power output).

Auto Turn-On: There are two ways to automatically turn on the amplifier. Most aftermarket car stereo head units will have a remote turn-on lead, which can be extended to the amplifier location and connected to the amp's Remote terminal. If connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo, or a head unit without a remote turn-on lead, the amp can automatically turn on using the DC Offset mode. The amp detects a 6-volt DC surge on the signal inputs and turns the amplifier on. There is no switch on the amp to select the Turn-On method.

Protection Circuitry: The DXA1000.1 has protection circuitry that will turn the amp off in the event of overheating, over voltage (over 16 volt input), under voltage (under 10 volt input), and short circuit (speaker output). If the Protection LED on the right side of the amp illuminates red, the protection circuit has engaged and the amp will not play until the problem is resolved.

Dual Input Sensitivity: The DXA1000.1 can receive low- or high-level signals from your car stereo source unit at the amplifier's left and right RCA inputs. The low-level signal can be sent from the source unit's RCA line-level outputs. In this case, the Input Sensitivity switch on the amp should be set to "LO". A high-level signal can come from the source unit's speaker outputs, and connected to the amplifier using the Kicker KISL adapters. The Input Level switch should be set to "HI".

Fail-Safe Integration Technology (FIT): FIT utilizes isolated differential inputs, rejecting noise and electrical interference for the quietest operation possible. FIT also allows Kicker amps to accept output from nearly any factory or aftermarket head unit.

Input Level: The DXA1000.1 has a two position (in/out) switch to set the input level type. It can be pressed in for High (for speaker level) or set to out for Low (for line level).

Gain: The input gain is continuously variable, labeled 0 to 11. The gain range is governed by the input level switch: 250mV to 10V for speaker level (HI) and 125mV to 5V for line level (LO). A small screwdriver is needed to adjust the gain.

Crossover Frequency: The internal low pass crossover is always active (it cannot be bypassed). The crossover point is continuously variable between 50 and 200 Hz. The slope is 12 dB/octave. A small screwdriver is needed to adjust the crossover frequency.

KickEQ Bass Boost: The KickEQ bass boost circuit provides a signal boost centered at 40 Hz. The bass boost is continuously variable between 0 and 12dB. A small screwdriver is needed to adjust the amount of bass boost.

Subsonic Filter: Frequencies that cannot be reproduced by the subwoofer do not become sound, but unnecessary oscillations causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can damage speakers. The subsonic filter removes inaudible frequencies to improve the performance of the speakers by eliminating this harmful distortion. The 24 dB/octave subsonic filter's crossover point is 25 Hz.

Optional CXARC Remote Bass Level Control: The DXA1000.1 is compatible with the optional CXARC remote bass level control which allows you to remotely control the output level of the amplifier. The CXARC's control knob can be mounted near the driver's seat of your vehicle, while the control's 19.75' cable is extended to the amplifier location.

Wiring Recommendations: Kicker recommends that the amplifier be connected to the vehicle's battery using 4 Gauge power and ground wiring. An external 150 amp fuse should be installed on the power wire within 18" of the battery. There are no fuses included or built into the amplifier.

Note: None of the pre-assembled 4 Gauge amp wiring kits sold by Crutchfield are equipped with the needed 150 amp fuse. It is recommended that the fuse and the fuse holder in the kit be replaced with a 150 amp ANL or MANL fuse and fuse holder.

Kicker Extended Warranty Offer: Kicker will extend the amp's standard warranty by an additional year (for a total warranty of three years) when it is installed with a qualifying Kicker amplifier installation kit. The amplifier and installation kit must be purchased from an authorized Kicker dealer.

this amp is a mono amp basically made for subs, you want a 4 channel amp..your best bet is to get on chat with the techs and they will perfectly match an amp with any speakers you have or get....crutchfield guys are definatly top notch! [ Donald  Mar 23, 2016 ]
You wouldn't be able to wire two dual-voice coil 4ohm subs together to show a mono amp a single 2ohm load; they would have to be wired at either 1ohm or 4ohm for a mono amp. You could, however, wire each sub down to 2ohm and connect them individually to a 2ohm stable 2-channel amp. My Bio: [ Larry  Feb 02, 2016 ]  Staff
